But while they showed pics of that town, their actual story was about a town in Tenn, w/same name. We started laughing, and my wife asked if I knew where the town was in Tenn. I think this is about a lot more than "marketing profiles" but the truth would both scare and enrage us so we'll just go with "its just for marketing profiles". Great video guys, thanks! 😉

There is absolutely no way you can be completely private living in a modern electronic world. The phones are tracked, computer usage is monitored and tracked, your financial history is tracked, cars are tracked, cameras are everywhere, shops, buses, highstreets, roads, door bells etc. The only way to be completely private is to buy a small holding somewhere in the middle of nowhere and live off-grid. However, I love hot water and hot showers, flushable toilets, gaming, tv and movies, and having fast food delivered to my door, so I guess I'll never be free. I bet even when I'm gone a camera will be watching my grave to make certain I'm not gonna make a bunk for freedom 😆

Our daughter and her husband were at home, talking about how old their satellite TV remote was. Without asking, a few days later a new one showed up in the mailbox. After that, we've become very careful with our TV's, phones and the webcams on our computer.
We bought a new house that had an Alexa system installed it. After about a week, we found a verbatim transcript of our private conversations. We disconnected the system real quick after that. That and "Echo" devices were spying and sending our conversations to people we don't know.

The frequency illusion is like when you buy a car new to you, and suddenly those specific vehicles seem to be everywhere. Because before you bought your vehicle, you really didn't care about them but now you do, because your recent familiarity with that vehicle tunes your perception to now be aware of them.

@Jonny Croxville There are some apps that are are impossible to delete unless you manage to "root" your phone. Barring that, the best you can do is disable them where possible. I haven't been able to root a phone for years due to various reasons but on my current phone I have Chrome browser, Facebook and Google TV disabled with no impact on the other apps.
WOW!!! I left a comment on the battery video about these very changes that I happen to discover while watching another video beforehand! 6:00 It even says we do not sell your info, LOL!!!
I call BS on the frequency illusion in this case. My friend was talking to me about two subjects during lunch: a wedding he was going to, and how much his wife loves and artist that I don't like at all. That evening youtube recommended music to play at a wedding and guess what artist it was. Also, no, UA-cam doesn't have access to my microphone on my device. But it did on his.
In my Location section when I went to Google the only options it allowed me to chose were allow or deny. The "allow when using the app" was there, but you could not choose it. It was dimmed out.
I recently went to see my doctor about a shoulder pain. She diagnosed a rotator cuff tear. I came home and my wife asked me what the diagnosis was, again, I mentioned rotator cuff tear. That evening I started getting ads on my FB stream for rotator cuff shoulder braces!!
Hello There! Thank You for your videos and information!! Is there any way to turn off automatic updates on our samsung android galaxy S20 FE? Do we really need or have to have these updates? Also when we got our new phones a year ago they are 4G and 5G "capable". We made it Clear to them that we wanted them to operate on 4G Only and Not 5G. How can we be sure that our phones are Only operating on 4G network? Thank You Very Much in advance!! We appreciate You both!!
@Payette Forward You may have mentioned it at the end of this video , Although I'm sure TicTok app 📲 is programmed to have access to your microphone Every time ( not that i have that app ) . Regards from Australia 🇦🇺 . ♑️✍️🇳🇴
The answer is yes and yes. On top of everyone's info being sold online. I can talk about something IRL then see ads for it on FB..long story short all of my social media is gone, I only have a youtube and Google and a VPN. I have lost about 70% of my ads randomized and its a far better experience online.
There's a way to restrict accelerometer now. You have to go into developer settings. Clicking sensor off. There will be a toggle I'm Your top down settings now. Just click it and it turns off all sensors. Only problem is cameras won't work while it's on.
@@sharontalbot8037 on My android the camera can be turned back on very quickly. It's in the drop down menu that's always there no matter what you are doing.
Two weeks ago I was at an airport, talking with a pilot about the air conditioning installed on a Beach KingAir. I never shopped the product nor do I own a plane. Later that evening I had a banner ad on my desktop Google home page for air conditioning systems for Beachcraft King Air aircraft. They are listening, and probably sending information to the FBI.
A month back you commented are phones listening to us & the answer is yes , if you manage to get an old buisness model phone as there are Non General Public sim cards & Xtra Privacy phones like an old Nokia N63 or Blackberry, I could hear the police taping me when i rang my friend he logged my name address dob time n pulse number ? Due to an error they done a Global sweep n visit of peolpe in Australia Brazil Panama Usa England Spain Holland, i dont hear from them now as they were told I'm a big narco . That's happened to a good few people n its ruined many a good friendship . Just keep it well away when talking & never use it for TV as it'll search for devices n use them . I just knock on doors now like urself. I'd rather not have at all . Take care .
It's all automated, the recordings are processed by AI, and converted into shopping suggestions and such. Of course if you were to talk about suspicious things then some guys at the FBI would manually review what you said
Every app you install listens and tracks you and also phishes for phone information. I have an app information blocker, so it prevents all these apps from obtaining information such as the phone I'm using, software, operating system, location, storage, city, country, so on and so forth. It's normally 3rd party companies associated with the app that want the information. I know, I know, I could just deny the app from access, but some apps will not work or work correctly unless you've given them permission. This could also account for battery loss from the amount of information being sent. One company racked up 3715 attempts in 6 hours trying to obtain information from my phone.
Very informative video! I was amazed at how far in the settings for the Facebook app went! What app do you think has the deepest menu? Is this done for a reason? Is the stuff hidden deep for a reason, or is it just good or bad menu design?
I've seen a few of your vids, and for privacy very good. For ads....do a video on stopping ads. Route via home firewall and pihole, or use a (vpn) adblock. Even a few adblock apps does not require Root. Ads eat bandwidth, data quota, and even phone processing power. Say NO to ads. Just say no.
It's so funny, because when I watch a video on UA-cam, a whole bunch of other videos just like it show up. I'll just look up anything on my desktop and oh! There it is on UA-cam! What a coincidence! Amazing. Does anyone NOT realize we're being tracked at all times? This is not a surprise.
@@leepiper4621 changing those settings won't prevent Google from doing what they already do. Your best bet is to install a whole different operating system on your phone
O.M.G.....YES...!!! I've noticed over the last few months that either while conversations are going on amoungst my friends OR while somebody is talking on my comp/telly all of a sudden my phone says "I didn't quite get that" or "do you want......??" it's driving me potty that my phone is listening in to nearby conversations even though it was not asked specifically to look for something....I don't like it at all...invasion of privacy... thanks for walking us through that...I followed as far as Facebook because I don't have the other apps...now to just keep an eye on my phone butting into conversations..chuckle...
I specifically changed my trigger word to 'computer' so that it would be activated by Scotty whenever I happened to be watching Star Trek IV ("just use the keyboard"). It still gives me enormous pleasure to have Mongomery Scott activate Alexa long after his death.
Just found out the hard way that some apps will stop working correctly e.g. WhatsApp will not be able to record audio recordings because the sensor is off. So if your apps cannot record your dictation regardless of your permissions setttings, updates and restarting your phone, just turn off your sensor during time of use the turn it back on whe you are done.
Gotta go into Developer Mode and mute sensors. Then shut it off after it appears as a button in the drop down menu. From then on you can manually turn on and off your camera and microphone access.
Thanks guys. Good video. I have turned off every darn thing I could. Then while I'm busy with, say Whats App, I get a popup moaning that a critical error is about to occur, unless I turn on access to location. Also...photos can't be saved to the gallery, unless the camera has access to my location. WHY??!!!
I feel like I could be a lab rat. UA-cam is my only social media. I have a Facebook page but rarely go to/use it. my phone, on average, is used less than once a day. maybe 3x's a week, often less. I have a laptop for daily casual use. yet I mention one thing in a text (another sparsely used) or on a rare phone conversation - and, in your example, I get Disney ads. However, Disney is a broad well-known brand that could be a coincidence but in my direct experience my interest or mention of something on my (android) phone is very specific and lo and behold - my esoteric comment comes to ads.
This started happening back in 2012, at least that far back (possibly a year or two earlier). Anyone who doesn't think so, wasn't paying attention.

My YT feed has 3 things in I discussed yesterday. Haven't searched them but here they are
I think it picks key words from your comments typed.
I talk to myself a lot so I'm glad Andy is at least listening.
If you need Alexa to change a soundtrack for you or switch on your AC, you need to loosen up your schedule a smidge.
Thanks. Live Long and Prosper
There's a setting under developer settings (has to be enabled) 'called sensors off' This turns off ALL off sensors including accelerometers.
David, you triggered my Alexa as I watched this. I use to have this very often as i watched Star Trek TNG. This whole topic was quite interesting
Forget about privacy. I love TNG too! 🤣
The original plan and intention. I just can't believe people are this ignorant to the fact. At this point in time it's hopeless.
There's a way to restrict accelerometer now. You have to go into developer settings. Clicking sensor off. There will be a toggle I'm Your top down settings now. Just click it and it turns off all sensors. Only problem is cameras won't work while it's on.
I'd love to do this but would get frustrated, turning camera back on all the time.
@@sharontalbot8037 put pieces of square tape on yours
These guys already covered that.
Great idea!
@@sharontalbot8037 on My android the camera can be turned back on very quickly. It's in the drop down menu that's always there no matter what you are doing.
Thank you David and David. Ive followed your tips. Great content as always
New Subscriber here! Can you talk about Airtags in the future. Thank! I've already learned a lot from you guys.
I really appreciate your efforts
Thank you so much
I have saved a number of your videos to a playlist. Thanks, guys!😁
Of course if you were to talk about suspicious things then some guys at the FBI would manually review what you said
Definitely Yes!!
And (They) even take a peek also; a lot of times I have to make sure the phone stays Off, because sometimes it "Restarts" by itself 😳
Under microphone on Android, Google only has two settings, allowed or denied. There is no option to "ask every time".
So what is the app information blocker you use?
Very informative video! I was amazed at how far in the settings for the Facebook app went! What app do you think has the deepest menu? Is this done for a reason? Is the stuff hidden deep for a reason, or is it just good or bad menu design?
I've seen a few of your vids, and for privacy very good. For ads....do a video on stopping ads. Route via home firewall and pihole, or use a (vpn) adblock. Even a few adblock apps does not require Root. Ads eat bandwidth, data quota, and even phone processing power. Say NO to ads. Just say no.
Hi I love your channel! Keep on going with your great videos!

Can you guys talk about using a faraday bag? I know someone that has one> are they worth the money or not?
thinking you can stop Google teacking you by changing these settings is an illusion 😂
Pls explain
Absolutely right
@@leepiper4621 changing those settings won't prevent Google from doing what they already do.
Try disabling Google assistant on your phone but if it continues just know that your phone has been hacked
Twitter, Snapchat, etc … Uninstall is also very effective 😀
I have FB disabled...you cant delete it
Thanks a lot for your guides. Best on UA-cam I've found so far. Great.
It's about control ❗
Great info, thanks. I had a lot of these already implemented. But yall showed me some I didn't know about.
Absolutely brilliant , thankyou !!
What about the "Show system" settings on permission manager->Location ...Show System? There are a bunch of settings there.
But does it really turn off? It might look like it's off to us but who knows
Through Developer Options, you can activate the Sensors Off button. Disables microphone, cam, and gyroscope.
Bixby is notorious for activating at random times.
"they" are absolutely monitoring our tech and it feels very 1984-ish, or Big Brother if you prefer. thanks for the tutorial as this vintage woman is skeptical of carrying around my own spy. I call it my electronic leash. I resent it but a person of today has to have one. they can be handy/useful, but I lived for decades in rural areas w/o them, and it was fine. some of this is crabby old lady stuff but it's still very true.
Thanks very much for these videos guys without you we are sitting ducks, God bless and have a safe and blessed day
They record everything.
Murder cases have been solved by a warrant to get the recordings from that location .make no mistake they record everything.
That they do and every thing you delete takes over a month to be deleted from the servers if ever on some.
If they're dumb enough to take their phone when they commit a crime, the first charge they catch should be for stupidity
Thanks for your sharing
Thank you, very helpfull

I don't have the google app so I don't need to do that but I do have google play and it had access to my text for some reason. I clicked that off. One day I'm going to find every sneaky thing they are doing on my phone.
I have the Galaxy 20 se. When I am on speaker phone I noticed the selfie camera looks to be taking pictures. I lens expands about every 15 seconds. I asked the people at Verizon and showed them too but they had no idea what it was doing. Any thoughts?
Hi there Rita! I hope that you are having a Great Day! Wow! Thank you for your comment/question! I will check mine out next time I m on speaker phone! Blessings!
How can you tell if your selfie camera looks like it is taking pictures?? Please and Thank You in advance!!

I just flat out refuse to ever watch any forced advertising anywhere about anything for any reason. If I want a product or service, I look it up. I haven't watched one single tv, internet or any media ad in a probably a decade and wouldn't have it any other way. My life is driven by ME and no ad can find my attention unless I purposely look for it.
This might be simple for you. But for me it's hard, got a new Samsung, have an app, that got put on by mistake.
Had a tec at the store try to get rid of it but what ever she did ,it won't go away ,
It's a message app, but she told me it was like a virus. Help.
You have to call your provider and with their help you can factory rest your phone in a way that you won`t loose your info I had to do it once.
Sorry i don't know if you still have the problem, I've fixed that issue plenty, you need to set your original UI home. Messager Home is a popular app that takes over the UI and puts ads on screen.
Thanks for a useful and well assembled video. I believe I will use these techniques.
How does this relate to things such as VPM and Security//Privacy apps ? if you can , LINK in the description ❓
