@@Veritas-invenitur Actually, with all the information Google, Facebook, Apple and Amazon have on you, it's not that tricky to predict what you'll be thinking BEFORE you've even thought it. Consider that human beings aren't so different, and they've info on how MILLIONS most like you--gender, age, politics, consumer preferences, income , psychological profile, neighborhood, etc.--will respond to a particular post, news item, or video meme. With that info in hand, they can, if they choose, even steer your choices more and more into a sort of silo unchallenged agreement, including a prepetual state of alarm. In a fair and just world, Big Tech would be held accountable.
They ABSOLUTELY are listening. I never searched for Greek food online, but when my friend and I talked about it we got ads for it five minutes later. Coincidence? Yeah right!

We need a massive class action lawsuit on Google for this VERY OBVIOUS violation of our privacy. Literally everyone who uses a phone knows they listen to your conversations and force advise.
the only thing obvious here is how gullible everyone is so the reporters convinced themselves they have the brain to analyse anything. It is wholesomely ridiculous.
It goes beyond listening to you to sell you products. Nosey and intrusive folk will use ones camera and microphone to just listen, jist because. None of this is news, neither some kind of secret. The whole point of one needing to get over comes with the belief that said person believes themselves to be slicker/smarter than whomevers privacy their invading.
A conspiracy doesn't mean it's an "invention". Conspiracies are real and will always be. But media likes to make you think conspiracies are inventions.
Aye, the extent of accuracy possible from "Big Data" collections via Cookies, (digital) fingerprints and (shadow) profiles is kinda creepy - and apps don't need to "listen in" via microphones or the cameras, when they can track our Online Behavior on Social Media and all kinds of websites we're using. And any "free" service is paid for with exactly that data - recently, more and more News Websites even block users, who use ad-blockers for exactly that reason: they don't get paid, if they cannot show you "personalized ads" - which are, of course, based on all those trackers, cookies and fingerprints in the back of our Browsers and Apps. When people say that, they just show the level of their own ignorance about the intrusion of their privacy, that takes place with the accumulated information from little "drops" of data (click by click). But each little "drop" of information adds to a more complete (psycholical, social, political, etc.) profile of us - even here on UA-cam (Google as its owner is no exception). So, the only free stuff is OpenSource Software, but it wouldn't generate money on its own. So, personal information of our surfing behavior is part of the income of most "big players" out there these days. Yet, I'm not sure, that is all "harmless ad-targeting", since it could be used for a lot more than this, too. - And in more autocratic Political Systems and Societies, it actually is these days (see China's Social Scoring System, for example). P.S./Edit: That's why the Chaos Computer Club also recommends to create at least one "Online Persona" for all non-governmental Online-Interactions, so we don't use our *actual* Personal Data and preferences online. - It's a pretty practical Life-Hack and relatively easy. Just don't get mixed-up with yourselves, if you're having more than one ^_^.

A couple seconds later I refresh my UA-cam page and at the very top there's a KFC ad for mac and cheese. A couple days later I'm talking with him on the phone about whether or not we should have more kids. The next day I'm getting video recommendations such as "Why I Stopped Having Kids" or "Is it Worth Having Kids?" I have never searched for anything to do with that at all. Technology isn't a Pandoras box. If the system is performing actions it would be very simple to see these actions within the logs or source code. That's why we know the apps that track cookies, location, etc. If they were listening to our audio it would be extremely obvious within the phone.
UA-cam/Google definitely listens on a far deeper level than you realize. It tracks movement. Ambient sounds. Knows when you set your phone down and/or are busy working and throws ads knowing you won't be able to skip them. I've replicated this 100s of times. They hear absolutely everything and will learn the machines your running if you do. Once it recognizes that particular sound it will go to ads. Knowing from past learning that sound means you won't be able to skip ads. It's crazy but true. I've proven it
This is so true. When I wash my dishes I usually put my phone to my eye level and play youtube videos. This is the time that I am bombarded with ads that I can't skip and it is really annoying.
Its just code... You have the camera and microphone, cannot remove batteries... It's just so obvious it actually makes my stomach turn when you all collectively choose to believe a fantasy. You chose to believe the sensors of your phone rather than your own senses. You are putting the telephone above you, morally, socially... Just ask old folks how they managed without "smartphones" and learn from them, before they all die and Klaus Schwab makes us eat the bugs. We are learning from our phones and each other instead of learning from parents. Parents : "don't talk to strangers" Also parents: here's an object that allows you to talk to every stranger on the planet.

The tragedy is that despite this, people still use these social media apps like drugs. They'll never learn. I deleted Facebook in 2014. Best decision in years
Me too. I deleted Facebook about two tears ago. My wife spoke last week about a New laptop. Guess what, 5 minutes later we got a add for laptops. Isnt that creepy. No privacy no more.
THEY don't do that, several other apps do, then send that info to a public database where companies pay to access that information and use to post ads. Basically, they don't do it, but they buy it from someone who does.
They don't listen for real. But what they do is read your cookies. All your social media apps read your browser cookies and get tracking data through your cookies the same way websites do. And that data can be aggregated. If you want it to stop just clear your cookies daily. It's going to affect your browsing experience however.
Definitely listening!! I’m a courier. I carry 2 phones. I had to call my customer to get the exact location for the drop off. She said the address and unit number. I immediately picked up my other phone and keyed in the address (without the unit number) and yet Google maps added the unit number BY ITSELF. Yes, my phone was listening to me. I have no doubt.
Exactly. 1. You cannot actually turn off your phone. It's only a software-generated "off button". How can a device (like your phone) be off and then indicate you that it has been turned off? 2. Your phone is a device for automatic internet connection. Even if you turn off your modem, it will pick other signals without you knowing you're actually connected. You phone, ipad, car computer are PERMANENT CONNECTION-SPYING DEVICES.

Honestly I think they're also somehow able to start sending us thoughts (like mind control). I got a couple picture type things in my mind about watching a movie. I went on UA-cam and the first video that popped up had the words "movie" and "watch" in it. I hardly ever watch movies and wasn't really thinking about it, I just kind of had the weird idea out of nowhere, not like my usual thinking process. Anyone else experienced this?
I woke up in the morning about a year ago, sat bolt upright and said 'wierdo dreams'. As I turned to step off of my side of the bed my dog was lying right alongside of the bed, and I noticed he was sound asleep. I step over him without waking him, then I go into the living room and open my phone. There was immediately an advertisement for something which I did not catch. In the still photo was a sleeping dog with a thought bubble above his head that said 'wierdo'. As I have been well aware of this phenomenon for some time I went to take a screenshot - and the ad disappeared from the screen that fast, never to be seen again. I have watched for it, as I wanted to screenshoot it. I wondered if it even is a real ad, or was it a combined construct of my still dreaming mind and the phone (which was next to the bed that night). I believe they are monitoring and manipulating dreams also. A microwave oven blocks all signals coming in and going out. Use an unplugged microwave oven to avoid accidental catastrophic failures 😲. I carry an old microwave in my vehicle and you can use one to store your cell phones and other electronics at home or anywhere. A bit bulky perhaps but 100% effective. Works like a Faraday cage. I had an older model android phone that was going goofy after spending a couple of days in the microwave. I saw that it kept trying to connect to something over and over again after i had removed it. That incident was several years ago, and I am getting on in years now. Good luck kiddies... you will need the power of God to stop this.
That’s harder to prove. Much easier to lightly “suggest” certain things to make you believe it was your idea. I mean…. I want to say you’re right, but think about it. That sentence you’re talking about is on my page too and i see it just about everyday. Did you want to see a movie and then went to UA-cam? Or did you see the sentence on UA-cam enough times until you “spontaneously” wanted to watch a movie and UA-cam had that saaaame old sentence there but at the right time? Keep track of things like this. They’re definitely listening but your thoughts should still be relatively safe. However, keep in mind that “suggestability” is a powerful and subtle tool that advertising specializes in.
Yep We did the same using clean, freshly wiped phones while on a VPN. New email, Facebook and Instagram accounts. No prior history. The apps very clearly were listening and delivering advertising based upon our conversations near the test phones.
They probably use other apps' Voice-Based-Keyword data to target and still be able to deny the possibility of their app listening. For example, pubg officially used to collect voice data..... (And the login is often times Facebook authenticated) who do you think would be buying/collecting data from them?
Same thing has happened to me multiple times. I had a new laptop that was upstairs and my mom was talking about CBD oil downstairs and the door was closed and it picked that up even tho it was quiet and I got an ad for that. On my phone I get ads for stuff people just talk about and I never search too and also stuff I type while messaging people and never search.
Like me and my wife were discussing whether to blue or brown a musket barrel i was working on. A short time later she started getting ads for Birchwood casey products. Something unrelated to anything she ever searches for.
Yup. The software is listening. And who doesn’t know people in power lie by now? The things that have popped up, within minutes of a conversation, are too specific to be happenstance.
Most of the companies they are talking about can be proven trivially that they aren't. Because you can check if the phone is sending the information off to a server. Others you can't really know, when data is being sent off. In some cases, you just have to trust them.
My guess is there is some weird avenue where the app itself isn't (for legal purposes) doing the listening, but it's utilizing a service that employs another service that accesses another point that IS listening. So legally FB can say THEY aren't listening, but its not the right question...
My workmate and I were discussing bookbinding, and we discussed the possibility of using human skin, which neither of us had ever contemplated before. This has definitely happened to me in recent weeks. I was on a car journey with a few friends and in the journey we talked about a very esoteric subject - Astral Projection. NOT a normal topic at all. And amazingly next day i started getting adverts for a course on How to Do Astral Projection. That has to be totally linked to the conversation on the journey the day before. There is no way to pass that off as coincidence.
Maybe one of the others in the car searched for it, and they know you were together, so now you see ads for it. Doesn't automatically mean they are listening. These algorithms are extremely sophisticated.

My son and I did a test. We made sure my phone was nearby and then for an hour we kept adding into our conversation that we needed to get dog food. Within 30 mins I was getting dog food adverts. I don't have a dog.

Oh please, they are 100% listening! I know that for sure because it happens to me all the time and many times it is something I never searched online, just a conversation I had. It isn't because some smart algorithm figured out what I may like, it is an immediate ad about a topic of conversation I had within a day (on the phone or in person). Even if it is so random that it is far from anything I normally use/search for/post/like etc...so definitely not because they know my general likes. One time I told my husband our daughter broke her sunglasses and soon after I had an ad for unbreakable kids sunglasses. So yeah, don't tell me this is just an algorithm and not being spied on private conversations! I

And their tools are so sensible and accurate. I had a hard night, I had cramps that woke me up. My phone was on the edge of the bed (I know, probably the worst place to put it) under some pillows and blankets. I'm sure my words were faint when I pronounced any words - on my mother tongue - about pain, if I even pronounced them clearly in that state of mine. And voice-based searching is disabled on my phone. Regardless, the first ad I got in the morning was a product for cramps.
Friends of mine, in the privacy of their home, with no one within hearing distance, started talking about buying a new car. They decided on a Ford pickup. The next day, on their phones, tablets and computers, they were inundated with ads for Ford pickup trucks. They narrowed these ads down to the fact that their phones were sitting on their coffee table while they discussed buy a new truck the night before. Their phones were listening to their conversation, and adjusted their media ads accordingly.
@@OO-yy3hk Me too! I was talking to a guy who recently bought a van and he recommended one to me. When I got home, there were ads about the very same van. Freaked me out.
Exactly. 3. What's worse is that these devices are not imposed on people. People rush to pay for them and bring them home! Amazing.

@Mud Gaming: Google it's away with f****** because they have their own army of nerds who defend Google under the straw man of being open source so they claim it's different when Google monopolizes platforms and spies on people vs Microsoft but when thinking logically Google just join the software Illuminati with a financial incentive to be a open source Illuminati based on advertising and collecting data to sell to governments.
The CIA invented the whole "conspiracy theory" insult after JFK's assassination to get people to stop questioning, they don't like critical thinkers, "Everything's a Rich Man's Trick" (check out the documentary). I wouldn't be surprised if they made the flat earth theory popular as well. Question everything and look for the information yourself, you'd be surprised what you might find through declassified information. I would not recommend Google. DuckDuckGo is alright but it seem to be somewhat compromised as well, this is why it's a good idea to search over multiple different search engines. They have also begun to limit access to physical books such as those from libraries of universities depending on where you are and now suggest to go digital which isn't always available anyway nor 100% accurate in its recordings of these physical copies. As the government grows in power and corruption, they have more control over history. Notice how they love to shove Wikipedia articles under certain UA-cam videos whenever discussing something rather, "controversial." Beware of bias fact checkers, don't allow the mainstream media to think for you. Censorship is already out of control but most people won't care until it happens to them and by then it may be too late. We're all too busy fighting and hating each other to notice as much, our division benefits them; we'd be so much stronger standing together. I hope to see this change for the better someday.

“Listening” is a technical term for what humans do with their ears. “Processing” or “Analysing” would be what computers do. “We” is also a loaded term. When he says “we don’t do that” it’s unsure who he’s referring to.
I once said to my daughter “that’s a nice Chrysler” while we were in the parking lot at her university. My phone was in my purse. I was not shopping for cars and had never searched for a Chrysler online. Not only did I get an ad for Chrysler on my phone the next day, but one week later a direct mail piece arrived in my postal mail from Chrysler headquarters. It was an expensive ad for their cars. I KNOW my iPhone listens to my conversations.
Absolutely it is listening. I have numerous examples. I went to a tailor yesterday and talked about a hole in my sweater....I never once searched it. And 5 mins ago, a notice pooped up about how to sew holes up.......
Same here! And my friend told me about a plane she went. I had never heard of it so I had never looked it up. 10 minutes later there it was. She looked at me like no way! I said do you believe me now?
Well said, friend. It is. It was even shown in play through Hollywood films (that are not just for entertainment), like the 1998 one “Enemy of The State.”
I have noticed it too, when my husband and I talked about getting a dog, but not looking in social media, suddenly I got advertisements about pet products etc. . Also when my grandson was born and no photo was posted on Facebook or anywhere, I got all these baby product adds. They are definitely listening.
If you search Google for anything for your grandson it's all you would have to do. Plus if you have your assistant enabled (which most people do by default) then it will listen to you all the time and you can actually find out what it has been picking up because it stores sound clips for so many days. What kind of device do you use? Android? I can send instructions so you can see if yours is doing this to you. When tech came around, nobody was properly instructed on how to use it or the benefits and disadvantages of it. It's dangerous if you don't learn everything there is to know about it. Make sure you always update apps too because they can become unstable and easier to hack if you don't. Make sure to read reviews before downloading an app and search online to make sure it's safe. There are lots of little things you can do to help you have better privacy, you just have to be willing to learn and do some research. When people say, "I don't believe....." they often mean, "I don't WANT to believe", because it's too unpleasant to accept.

Definitely listening!! I’m a courier. I carry 2 phones. I had to call my customer to get the exact location for the drop off. She said the address and unit number. Exactly.

I talked with a friend at his house about a very obscure, C class, martial arts movie. Only talked about it. Never searched online for it. When i got home it was suggested to me right here on YT in the suggestions. They are listening. People are naiive.
Yup, they can read your thoughts, can see through your eyes and Remote control people. It's a rough revelation, for sure.
Crazy isn't it
That’s harder to prove.
They absolutely DO LISTEN. Me and my buddy proved it. We spoke of something neither has ever searched anywhere and both of us got adds later on.
They listen to all conversations ...
Yea

"People" aren't listening to you, but the app absolutely is. Of course Facebook and Instagram would never admit to it, it would crush their business.
My guess is there is some weird avenue where the app itself isn't (for legal purposes) doing the listening, but it's utilizing a service that employs another service that accesses another point that IS listening. So legally FB can say THEY aren't listening, but its not the right question...
Debra Barclay - Exactly. That's my guess, too.

I bought a book,The secret garden, never searched it on google or you tube,I was talking about it with my kids, next thing I knew,I was getting " suggestions"from you tube to watch The secret garden.does make you wonder just how much they do listen to and how else they can or will use that info in the future.
If you think about it, When you say OK google to your cell phone , Google page opens up and waits for you to ask something, For that to happen your mic needs to listen for the command so your mic most be listening all the time..

The same thing happens to me. I’ve never even had fb on this phone. (I decided it was too negative and intrusive, so didn’t install it when I upgraded)
Google is tracking you multiple pings per second. It knows your every move and search. Disable Google app and web settings. All of them. Even better, delete Google apps off your phone and Facebook too.
Has happened 2 me about a car
@@OO-yy3hk Me too! I was talking to a guy who recently bought a van and he recommended one to me. When I got home, there were ads about the very same van. Freaked me out.
Wow, super creepy.🧟♂️🧟♂️
Stop lying for them, we all know their listening to everyone's conversations. Big Brother!
Exactly.
3. What's worse is that these devices are not imposed on people. People rush to pay for them and bring them home! Amazing.

My wife told me she wants a vacuum for Christmas, next morning, I get Vacuum ads on UA-cam. Never searched it. They’re DEFINITELY listening.
I have got ad recommendations on youtube within few minutes . That too when i was talking in my native language . I don't use siri or ok Google thing. This thing is real . They absolutely listen to us.

Saem! I came home one day and my roommate spent 30 mins talking about getting a Total Gym. I had ads about Total Gym on Facebook for about a month. I never once looked up Total Gyms because it was my roommate's idea, not mine. They listen 100%.
But if she has searched for a vacuum the same day or the day after, if connected to same wifi, you will see ads of what she searched
Yes it does listen to you.
When I speak to my wife about certain things like grilling dinner, it shows up the next day. I spoke to my sister about my local vet, 3 hours later, I was getting ads for vets in my area.
It indeed listens. You need to turn off your location and your mic.
Remember, TREAT EVERY MICROPHONE LIKE ITS A LIVE MICROPHONE. that's what's always said in broadcasting.
Those camera's on your laptops, and Ipads could be spying in real time........I cover mine until I use them.
I think it might even be listening when my phone is off. I need to test it but I am almost sure I have had this "coincidence thing" happen even when my phone was off or dead.
...and for every microphone you can see, consider there's another one or two you don't know about.
@@carrie0508 : they DO. Even Zuckerberg and pthers cover theirs. When I'm not using them, I keep them opaqued out with a small patch of adhesive paper tape [medical profession's version of 'gaffa' tape]. Just give your screen surface a clean with alcohol swab or windex when you remove it to use the camera.
It would be difficult to know where all the microphones are. So many pieces of electronics have become "smart". It's really very scary.
I told someone that google listens in us but then i got a notification on my smart phone saying "No we don't." I feel better now

OF COURSE THEY LISTEN IN! EVERYONE KNOWS IT. I TESTED IT YEARS AGO.
In my experience, they do listen to conversations. I get ads for things I never in my life have searched on, yet mentioned only verbally. Takes under 36 hours for a relevant ad to show up.
We need to get rid of these devices
And all of this could easily be legislated away, but they won't do it.

Apart from Flat Earth, many conspiracy theories are proven true over time. Project paperclip was a 'crazy theory' MK Ultra, NSA spying, Biden's Ukrainian blackmail, Pizzagate, all true.

I conversed with my brother about joining university in January , Now all UA-cam ads are about universities
My most hilarious one to date was when I was having a historical/video game related discussion about the bad guys in WW2 then hung up and a few hours later I'm getting adverts for head shaving products. That one's just in such poor taste lol
He calls it a “conspiracy theory” dude it actually happens bro
@Mud Gaming: Google it's away with f****** because they have their own army of nerds who defend Google under the straw man of being open source so they claim it's different when Google monopolizes platforms and spies on people vs Microsoft but when thinking logically Google just join the software Illuminati with a financial incentive to be a open source Illuminati based on advertising and collecting data to sell to governments.
They call that gaslighting. Tell you something isn't true when it is.
@@Emidoki all web browsers even Apple Safari is just modified Google chrome because there's no such thing as non Google nor none pc web scripts on public servers. The closest you can get to a non-google non Microsoft platform is dedicated software over a private server such as Bank software however all high function software must be pc-centric aka IBM clone so if the truth is out there it does not support high level programming and hey Google can still track you from viewing the secret documents on your prepritary flip phone because of ipv6 and DNS which without hi function code would be unchangeable by VPN or DNS software unless you had a custom-made flip phone with custom IPv6 and custom DNS that were completely privately owned by whoever has the so-called truth but good luck getting internet on truthful flip phone because I assume it would have to be a wired connection.

Surveillance state, its here, and its getting worse.
But yeah, if you want help seeing if you are storing sound files of you talking just let me know what kind of operating system you have. Most people have Android, Apple or Windows though.
