  • For those who might not know, CT5 translates to Cadillac compact-luxury-sedan style. Tough competition awaits this American offering, but let's see what Kelley Blue Book's Micah Muzio has to say about it.

      @@LSp8 I like the CTS, but I never thought it was proportioned all that well, which is something I think the designers did well in the CT5. The ATS I'll give you, but with this much more car? I'll deal with it. Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if I was on the market...but yeah that C-pillar treatment is strange.

      @@clintwalker2659 it looks ugly enough on the lesser Nissan Maxima/Altima and other mainstream cars that's adopting this newest fad. No need to put it on the Caddy. The new cars are sexy and I love their design with a strong exception of those damn pillars. Hopefully they'll spare the CT6 and not put it on there.

    I just got a 2024 with the 3.0TT package. I’ve been loving it so far. I’m in my early 20s and I have to say, this was probably the best American-made car I could get for the price, hands down. I’m not a huge fan of all the chrome trim but that can be fixed. And it has real wood interior! You don’t see that very often. The 3.0TT even has a little backfire when you give it some juice, I’m not sure if that’s something fake they just pump through the speakers, but it sounds crazy hearing that in a caddy. Great American sedan, the last of its kind

      Arman 80 I actually agree with you. In terms of luxury cars; Audi’s, BMWs, Mercs, and Lexus are a dime a dozen. With Cadillac’s design language and their unique headlight design, you can literally tell it’s a Caddy from a mile away. B Blackwell The Cadillac CT5 competes with the BMW 3-Series. It’s size doesn’t determine who it was designed to compete with so it’s length in inches is irrelevant. If you go just solely off of the CT5’s dimensions it would be more comparable with a BMW 5-series, but the dimensions are misleading since it’s a “tweener”. The CT5 was designed to go head-to-head in the compact luxury sedan segment.

Size does not determine the quality of a vehicle or whether it’s good or bad. Cadillac still has the largest offerings in majority of the segments where they compete so they can afford to get smaller. Since when is being more affordable a bad thing? Just shut-up.

      Christopher Calder I have been studying the looks of this car for a while and have come to the conclusion that this is the most beautiful car Cadillac has produced since 1970. Think of a car brand as a type of novel. Think of a car designer as a type of movie director. It’s then not hard to think of each new car as a personal (if done well) movie of the original novel. It’s an interpretation of a theme or idea. Looking at car design that way has allowed me to let go of expectations and give a new design a chance; as I usually end up re-examining a car’s design years down the road anyway. The new CT5 works for me because it doesn’t have a bad angle. Everything seems to stick to theme and the side profile is very dramatic (for me, that is). Cheers!

    As the targeted potential younger buyer I'll give Cadillac credit where credit is due, they wanted to start attracting more youngins to the brand and with this car I definitely think they're heading in the right direction. Seems like a decent offering of standard equipment too but I wouldn't want to own a Cadillac without supercruise and you didn't mention the pricing of any of the other trim levels, unless I didn't hear it? Could be a nice alternative luxury sedan to be had for under $55K if such one exists with all or most of the bells and whistles. Gj Cadillac 👏 if I find out it's not unreliable, you may have a shot

      @mybro727 4 роки тому +3

      Ahmad Harris it’s not that confusing if you’re familiar with the brand. The CT5 is competing in a segment below it’s predecessor (CTS) but not because it’s shrunk a lot in size. It’s only a few inches shorter than the Cadillac CTS it replaces but they’ve managed to increase the wheelbase in comparison to the outgoing CTS offering what Cadillac anticipates to be class leading occupant space.
      Cadillac CT4 will compete with Mercedes-Benz A-class, BMW 2-series, Acura ILX, Lexus IS, etc.

CT# (Cadillac Touring and the number for hierarchy in the lineup) and XT# (Crossover Touring and again, number for hierarchy). The ATS and CTS have been discontinued. Their sedans are now tweeners. @@RBZ06LT6 I know my taste is different than the majority’s, but I like the classic and more conservative look of Lincolns. I think Cadillac and every other luxury car brand (with few exceptions) have been coming out with very sporty, boy-racer-like designs, which I’m not particularly fond of. Lincolns are also very comfortable and reasonably-priced. I like their understated elegance, which is something that the vast majority of luxury cars lack. Anyhow, it’s just a personal taste of mine and I can understand if you or others disagree and have a different taste and opinion.

    Man this thing is as large as my 2014 toyota avalon but folks are referring to it as a compact. Its midsize at the least. Its size is the prime reason im considering it frankly. Price is great even if the interior is on par with a mainstream midsize sedan.

      Nobunaga Oda I predict the new redesigned Cadillac CT6 will lose several overall inches in length like the CTS did here with it’s successor the Cadillac CT5. It will be shorter in length but not much shorter in wheelbase in comparison to the current Cadillac CT6. The all new redesigned CT6 will compete in that segment along with the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Lexus ES, Acura RLX, etc.

    This would be a nice buy used. The biggest issue with this variant is the 2.0 turbo. Way to small for a car of this size and weight. It should come standard with a twin turbo 4 that puts out close to 300hp. I mean the twin turbo 4 comes standard in a bmw 330i that puts out close to 290hp and gets 35 hwy mph.

    It's a shame how engineers and designers spend all of this time and effort creating a great automobile and improving upon the vehicles they replaced just to have it half-heartedly gone through in 8 minutes, which seems to be the case here. And can we get a car review that doesn't compare the interior to a German car. At this point the interior is a matter of preference not quality. Overall Cadillac's interior look really great in person. I feel like a more serious approach should be taken to get a more thorough look at Cadillac's newest sport sedan.

    Why wouldn't that be the 5series or E class competition? That car is bigger than a 3 series

    • @rammlane7101
      @rammlane7101 4 роки тому

      Because it is not nice enough. The strategy at Cadillac is to be the biggest car in every segment that they compete in, so that you get the most bang for you buck. The CT6 competes with the 5 series and E class, because they don't think people would pay for the same size care as they would for the Germans. It is an inferiority complex that makes all of their cars fall between segments. They are scared to compete so they don't.

    • @B-H76
      @B-H76 4 роки тому

      @@rammlane7101 I dont agree with that at all. Performance, handling, and technology Cadillac is on their level or better. I will admit they need to take the interiors up another notch. They have had 3 car of different sizes in the last 3-5 years, ATS, Cts, CT6. They compare the ATS to the 3 series, they compare the CTS to the 5 series, then when they get to the CT-6 they then compare it to the 5 series again. Cadillac has called it flagship. The categorization of these cars show bias

    • @rammlane7101
      @rammlane7101 4 роки тому

      @@B-H76 See that is where you are wrong, the CTS was a 3 series fighter when they drop it as their entry level luxury sedan, that is why the CT6 is compared to the 5 series. The goal was to sale you more car because they did not have the prestige, and mind you prestige does not mean those cars were better performers. But the price points were more inline with the smaller cars, that is why they could give you more bells and whistles on a 5 series then you could get in a CTS even if you got the V the interior and tech was not as polished. Look at the pricing, an ATS is priced the between 2 series and the 4 series, and he CTS between the 4 an the 5, putting the CT6 between the 5 and the 7. They don't line up with any thing, they sit in between.

    • @B-H76
      @B-H76 4 роки тому

      @@rammlane7101 no, that was the beginning generation of the Cts that was the aimed at the 3 series. Then they remodeled it bigger and introduced the ATS. That why I specifically said 3-5 years

    • @rammlane7101
      @rammlane7101 4 роки тому

      @@B-H76 Stop looking at the sizes and start looking at the prices and engine options. They set every car in between what the Germans do, the new plan was to come in and try to create their own segments with the CT4, CT5, CT6, and then build something above that to compete in full size catagory with the S550, A8, and 7 series, CT8. The goal was to be the biggest car in ever segment because they did not fit in any of them. If that was not the case, then what was the point of the CT6?
