Changing the oil probably won't fix the noise but it is alot cheaper to give it a try. Chances are you have a bad bearing but a oil change is fairly cheap so I would try that first.
Yes I use the gasket with a very thin layer of rtv on both sides. It helps fill in all the little nicks in the rear end housing and the cover and it also makes the gasket come off easier next time I change the fluid and I have never had a leak.
OK to check the trans fluid you need to get it hot.Drive around easy for 10 mins or so then park somewhere that is level.Leave the engine running In park.Pull the dipstick and that will give you the most accurate reading. If it is low add a little at a time until you get it full.I think I have a video on the channel how to do it I think. My memory isn't that good.😊
With fourth generation, Camaros, gaining popularity, this video is going to be good for first time buyers… Good information corey
Thanks. There is always a first time for someone.
Race car season! 🤘
Yeah it's about that time.
I got some noise coming from the rear end cruising above 40 or 50 mph do you think just changing the gear oil will help or a rebuild kit only way?

Awesome video thanks! Question, what tool is that you used to scrap off the gasket?
It is called a gasket scraper. You can go on Amazon and type in gasket scrapper they sell a bunch of different ones which will all work fine.
@@LSxMotorsports2021Thank you!
Is that rtv you used?

@@LSxMotorsports2021 thanks man I appreciate you looking out👍
No problem. We like hearing from everyone who is watching.
Also should I drive the car in drive or over drive somebody told me to druve in overdrive always
With modern electronic transmissions you should just put it into overdrive and allow the PCM to control the shifts.
Is this the same as the 3.8 for the love of god I can’t find anyone that shows this on the v6
Yes the V6 is exactly the same. The differential will look different inside but the procedure is exactly the same.
