    Looking good Steve! THinking about buying a thin sheet of smooth white hdpe & cutting it to fit the bottom of my display tank so I can have the look of white sand.....until it gets covered by coral!....and I could scrap it off for an easy refresh and create a new look if I want. SOme downsides, but a lot of upsides as well.

    I can almost bet you it's the T5 fixture you have over your tank they are not adjustable so I would think you have way too much lighting. I know you're trying your best but what do you think Steve

    • @ROTTERtube
      @ROTTERtube  6 років тому +1

      not sure, could be, i've thought of that. i had the T5 for a year with no issues at all though. the bulbs were changed out a couple months ago as well. surfing around for cheap LED lights for fun right now

    • @channelchupathingee9195
      @channelchupathingee9195 6 років тому +1

      I don't think it's the t5 fixture. Tidal Gardens uses a very similar model and has no issues with algae. Another thing to consider is that my tank is only a little bit bigger than his and I have to use a six bulb fixture just so I can have acroporas at the top of my rock structures.

    Please do not use it if you have urchins in the tank. I did everything as the video indicates and my urchin died 😢😢. I thought I had read something about the urchin been able to stand this cleaning process, but I guess I was wrong (I came back to the comments and found that no one says that urchins can endure this). Everything else in my tank seems to be able to be ok, even tiny baby snails and copepods, but my urchin didn't make it. I even placed him alone in my quarantine tank so that he wouldn't keep getting harmed by the hydrogen and I couldn't save him 😞☹️☹️☹️

    This hasn't worked for me so far. Please help me. I've got a 10 gallon aquarium. Lots of green hair algae. Zero phosphates. 1 small fish, two small corals, 1 crab (emerald--supposed to eat algae) and 1 snail. I'm using the 35% diluted to 8%. I'm compensating for the dilution so my dosage of 8% solution becomes 5ml every other day. It's had no effect on the algae. Any suggestions or ideas?

    • @ROTTERtube
      @ROTTERtube  5 років тому

      do ONE ML OF food grade hydrogen peroxide directly on the algae with all pumps off. it will melt it away instantly. i don't know about diluting. i added it right to the tank. for the really tough stuff i dosed direct with no pumps on. my tank looked like a green mossy swamp with algae 4-6" long. it was gross. looked like spinach everywhere. i did it for 1 week with never algae again.

    I just ordered the 35% hydrogen peroxide. My tank is 65 gallons so I know I need to add 6.5ml’s every other day per the above comments but where do I need to add it? Directly to the water or onto the rocks / crushed coral?

    • @ROTTERtube

    Hello Steve, it's been awhile since I've been on here. I'm starting new on my channel, deleted all my vids due to not being able to change my gmail address which was my account address. Total bummer but was getting a damn hacker who kept writing to my email so had to do it. In all this time, Things were going well, and still are, but the same. This damned blue green hair or turf algae, NoPox didnt do squat. P04 and N03 are undetectable. But it continued to grow no matter how I siphoned it out it just came back thicker. Lack of snails is also a reason and too high % of light on my reefbreeders led. My fouler also with just my trigger. He eats snails & hermits. Bio Pellets and Phosban doing nothing. Its like what the hell do we do? So I'm going to bust a nut and do the peroxide thingy. Wish me luck brotha. I will keep you informed.

I may be taking down the scrubber again because if it was truly working up to its potential, none of this would have happened. However, I may keep it, as it has been keeping N03 & P04 at undetectable levels, so that leaves me looking into my lights and hourage. I've cut down from 10 hrs to 5 hrs on both display and fouler. I may do a few vids to show what I'm going through. If the Hydrogen Peroxide works, and I believe it will, It will be nice to have videos showing this. So far at 3% 30Ml, no corals are showing any signs of stress whatsoever, So I'm observing and dosing accordingly. Display is about 170 total gallons, Fouler is about 150 gallons.

      Collard Greens? I wouldn't mind being a fish in your tank.

    I have a 60 gallon. How much of 35% do I need to add?

    • @ROTTERtube
      @ROTTERtube  5 років тому

      3ml from a syringe with pumps off for 10 minutes while you dose on the algae. pick a new algae spot every day. turn pumps on after 10 minutes.

    • @ROTTERtube
      @ROTTERtube  5 років тому +1

      coral don't like it too much but they will be fine after a week roughly. they close a bit.

      Applied my first dose today, didnt do much. Just bubbled.

      turn off all your pumps and power heads. you need to dose over the green hair algae so it bubbles it away before your eyes.

    Does this also work for cyanobacteria?

    • @ROTTERtube
      @ROTTERtube  2 роки тому

      yes, but turning off all lights and covering the tank with a blanket for a week or two will get rid of all cyano.

    If you dose 3% peroxide? Do you multiply the doseage amount by 10?

    Bruh, you’ve got numerous tangs, there’s no shock in not having algae
