    Hydrogen peroxide also deactivates bleach if you want to deep clean your filter socks with bleach water. If you mix them straight it will just get really foamy and release oxygen

    I have a large flat Rock that's at the top of my rock structure. It has a pom pom Coral, a Kenya tree coral, and my anemone.... It also being at the top of my rock structure has a lot of algae on it including green hair.
    Will my anemone be okay with this method?

    • @BeardedReef
      @BeardedReef  2 роки тому +1

      I dont honestly know, my gut feeling is that it wouldn't be safe for the anemone so I wouldnt recommend it, you could remove the rock and scrub as much of the GHA off with a toothbrush but I wouldn't try the hydrogen peroxide on the rock if you have an anemone on it

    I've tried pure hydrogen peroxide 12% does a great job on zoas but mushrooms didn't like it also dipped my hammers up to the flesh didn't dare to go any further. Have used also dettol on all my corals as a pest dip 5ml to 10litres I don't have any sps tho

    Great video. I have also, like many others it seems, had problems with Mail Order Corals. The photos on the website are so doctored it's a joke. The M.O.C made up names are the worst cases. For an example check out the M.O.C Mardi Gras Zoas. Amazing photo. The ones I received were brown. I gave them another chance recently but had a similar problem. When I complained the guy told me 'we are more than happy that you will be shopping elsewhere in the future'.

    I just saw another video that demonstrated using the peroxide by itself without the need for using water. Just dip the coral for less than 2 min in the peroxide 3% than rinse with saltwater, 24 hrs later the coral looked awesome with no algae.

    • @BeardedReef
      @BeardedReef  2 роки тому +1

      @@BeardedReef You must have dipped the Zia and if so you would have noticed the algae, if not it may be a problem with your parameters and not the frag and maybe not, not knocking the vid as it was quite good but it is an open ended question, I have nothing to do with MOC but after thirty years of reefkeeping I have found that there are many causes to a problem. I think it is a bit unfair to berate them on air when you are not sure it was the cause, please don’t think that I am having a go as I am not but you make a statement with no proof.

    • @BeardedReef
      @BeardedReef  3 роки тому

      I'm not getting into an argument on here, I have no issues with any other coral, frags or areas in the tank other than the one from MOC, I have had several issues with them that I have mentioned before and have had countless messages from people saying the same thing, corals look nothing like the photos (the website photos are extremely edited), wrong corals sent out, corals with hair algae, corals with aptasia, and so many people have complained about the customer service to me after I've mentioned them, I wasn't bashing anyone I was giving my opinion based on my experience and said I wouldn't use them again, I will be getting my coral elsewhere as I've not been impressed, I have plenty of proof of the issues I and others have had and I could do a full video on that but not interested in doing so, I simply won't use them again, I will move on to another supplier and no hard feelings towards MOC
