    U did a victorious Victorian job. DON'T let the wallpaper co. Off the hook . Hound them . Do it for us little people that don't have a platform but experience rip-off with on line co.'s .again, fantastically gorgeous 😍

    I really love your way of letting things go and just having fun with it, it's accessible and not perfectionistic. So many of these types of things on social media are like that, but this is a beautiful reminder that DIY is FUN and your new bathroom brings you JOY!! That's what matters y'all.

    Very cute! For the gap in the wallpaper above the light fixture, you could try to find a similar bird as a wall decal to fill in the blank space! And perhaps new light shades on the light fixture that are more Victorian?

    I would add the rub n buff to the light fixture to match and paint the window frame dark to match- but really love this!!!

    The heat gun would likely allow you to get the cabinet door covering to get pliable and form fit the indentation, if you like.

    This turned out so SO good!! I can’t understand how that wallpaper made SUCH A HUGE difference to the size of the space! I’m such a proponent of “White makes a room bigger, so EVERY ROOM SHOULD JUST REMAIN WHITE” and I get too scared to venture beyond it! 😢 This makeover is the ultimate reminder that this is not always the truth! You turned something so depressing and drab into the coziest oasis! Thank you for sharing it! Even if I still have no idea where to begin on mine, it’s a great reminder that it *can* be done!

    So much warmer. I love the way the paper stretched on the toilet seat. I never knew that would work like that. I think you could still go with a colored curtain, if you wanted, for more privacy. I don't think the window curtain has to "match" the shower curtain. Looks really nice. I do hope you get the wallpaper issue sorted out though. It's too expensive to let them get away with not providing everything. Despite it, you handled it well.

    Cabinet looks great. But for a future tip, I saw a youtube video where they cut out a piece of thin cardboard the size of the indented part of a cabinet door and put the wallpaper over it to make the door look smooth. There were no indents then.

    Wow your bathroom looks great!!! I love the wallpaper. And you did an amazing job of hand painting the pattern onto the wall 🤩😍 Love the plants, the frame around the mirror with the added decals 😍 and the darker colour on the cabinet. The sheer flowy curtain over the plastic curtain really elevated the look. The rub and buff on the little ornate mirror transformed it!! Great job Lanchen 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    Just a warning that if you have sensitive skin and toilet seat made of wood, then the wood can soak up some of the cleaning products and transfer them to your skin with use. For most it will be fine, but it's the kind of thing you probably wouldn't see as the obvious cause of any pants-related skin issues.

    I make my living as a professional wallpaper installer and I think this is a good lesson on why you should use traditional methods and not these new fangled made to order printers. Paper companies are great, but here’s the thing: making paper is their expertise, not hanging it. If you had gotten 3-4 rolls of traditional paper and did the engineering yourself the problems would never have happened. Anyways keep at it, a blank wall is a wasted space in your life.

    • @21cormorants
      @21cormorants 24 дні тому

      When you say “do the engineering yourself,” what does that mean exactly? As someone who has yet to dabble in wallpaper, it’d be great to hear your insights!

    • @Papershields001
      @Papershields001 24 дні тому +1

      @@21cormorantsit wouldn’t be safe if an airplane only has the gas to get to the exact destination. In the same way it’s not safe to only have exactly the amount of paper you need to complete the room.
      Forget about the doors and windows. Imagine that you are papering the inside of a box and order the paper so you can just cover the whole surface.
      Steps:
      1) Find the perimeter of the room.
      2) Divide the perimeter by the width of each panel of paper. This tells you how many Panels of paper you need.
      3) Measure the height of the room.
      4) Find the size of the Vertical repeat of the pattern of the wallpaper
      5) grab a coffee
      6) find out how many patterns go in each panel by dividing the height of the room by the size of the vertical repeat.
      *now you know how many repeats you need per panel and you know how many panels you need to complete the project. For instance this will give you a total number like “I need 75 repeats to do this bathroom.”
      7) Find out how many pattern repeats are in each roll of wallpaper by finding the total length of the roll and dividing it by the length of the pattern repeat. For example, “each roll has 16 repeats in it.”
      * Now that you know many pattern repeats are in each roll: take the total number of repeats needed to do the whole room and divide that number by how many repeats are in each roll. For instance, “I need 75 repeats, there 16 per roll therefore I need 4.6875 rolls of paper to do this job: I need 5 rolls of paper to do this job.”
      8) order that many rolls. Start in 1 corner and keep hanging panels until you get back to where you started.
      9) now you’ve got a papered bathroom!

    I hope the wallpaper works out for you; it's pretty high-risk in a small bathroom. Normally use a purpose made paper, otherwise condensation is going to get to the adhesive and it will start to peel. I think I would have hung the curtains level with the top of the window, especially with wallpaper behind them.

      I think she means to use startch so that she can take it down when she moves. It's a trick that a lot of military families use to change the walls by heavily starching a sheet. And it comes off easy and is easy to make it look like nothing was ever there. I think you have to buy a jug of starch. Can't just spray it. I remember hearing military friends talk about doing it.
