Chris…I gotta give you a HUGE s/o. I’ve been thinking of getting a bottle for a couple of years now, but I was always afraid to pull the trigger. This year, I finally got up the courage to explore it. About a month ago, I specifically looked for your channel to watch this video….just to get some ideas and to see what mistakes others have made will running nitrous. Upon watching some other reviewers, they seem to have some of the same advice. They also advised not to go the cheap route…meaning…get pressure gauges and other supporting mods that are made to prevent anything catastrophic from happening. All that being said, I ordered a Nitrous Express kit (including pressure gauge, purge kit, and bottle heater) from American Muscle. Thanks again for making this video. You are appreciated. Holla.

@@sym6oI got my nitrous kit installed a few weeks ago on my 2012 Mustang GT. I also got the TPS/RPM window switch, a bottle warmer, pressure gauge, a center console switch panel, and a purge kit. Yeah…it may be a little overkill, but i just wanted to make sure I had everything that would make me feel comfortable. Before the nitrous install, I replaced the stock spark plugs with 1-step colder plugs. Before the install, I got my car dyno tuned on a dyno hub. Before the nitrous install, my Stang made 437rwhp.
Right now, my current mods are: Boss 302 intake mani, Pypes long tubes (o/r x with no resonators and no mufflers), 3.73 gears, Barton short throw shifter, some suspension mods, and K&N Blackhawk CAI. I’m using a RTD tuner to switch between my n/a tune and nitrous tune. Currently, I’m running 125 shot. I want to use 150 shot jets, but my tuner advised that I don’t go that high on stock oil pump gears. I did speak to a rep at Nitrous Express who was adamant that a stock coyote mustang can easily handle 150 with colder spark plugs. The nitrous install was great. I have no regrets at all (so far lol 🤞). The only thing I don’t like is that my rear wheels can’t handle the extra hp…so eventually…I’m gonna to have to get stickier tires in the rear. I have Mickey Thompson Street Comps right now. They are good, but they can’t handle an extra 125hp.
I haven’t raced anyone yet, but I was able to get on it about 5 times. I definitely would like to go with 150 shot soon. I didn’t want to get too greedy. Lol. I’m still trying to learn the setup. I thought I was going to be scared when the nitrous hit, but it was great. No issues with handling at all.
If you’re thinking of getting a nitrous install, I’d highly recommend calling Nitrous Express. I’ve called them about 3 time. They’ve been VERY helpful. The last time I spoke with them, I was on the phone for about 15-20 minutes. Lol. Those guys were very patient.

@@traybrook glad to hear it!! Was hoping everything went alright. That sounds amazing, everyone is pushing me to use a 150shot for my IS300 build. Either that or going turbo because bolt on parts do absolutely nothing for 2JZs lol. So I was just curious to how much people actually like it and how much it helps. Seems like a lot of people enjoy it… might also be safer 😂. Mines all stock now but have a whole list of a turbo build if I want to go ahead and run one on a budget. I just know NOS is the best budget boost performance, especially for the car I got. I need to get it all finished up and figure out what I wanna do. Your setup sounds sick btw, also use reddit and look at forums of people running 150 shots with the same (similar) mod list you have. That site has saved me so much money lol
Add a Nos Mini Nitrous Controller so you can set the exact RPM and percentage of spray you're solenoids will allow. 3000-6000rpm is not very specifiec to every car. I have mine set to activate at 3250 RPM (50%) and ramps up to 75% at 5500 RPM. Then it cuts off so I'm not spraying all the way up to my redline (6750 RPM}. You want this adjustability to stay safe.

Well this was a comvienent video. Having a 383 stroker sbc built for my truck. Forged bottom end, Afr Eliminator heads, the works. Only plan on spraying it with max a 100 shot cause its still a stock block. All motor it should be around 500 so a 100 shot should get me kicked out for no roll cage lol!
Good video Chris, the one thing I think you should of touched on maybe I missed it is making sure you have enough fuel pump for the nitrous shot especially if your running an older 4.6L that has the oem pump in the tank. Maybe not mandatory but good practice to up grade the fuel pump. Like the positive vibe to the video Chris keep up the good work and glad to see the hand is coming along.
Yessir! I remember saying that to the camera but maybe the footage was lost. I ran the stock pump and stock injectors on the 100 shot and it was 100% good. Upgraded the pump for the 150 to give me some head room and just in case I wanted to switch to e85
No one has done a car like mine before like you were saying but it kinda made it more special definitely wasn’t hard me and my buddy and 2 24 packs got it done the tuner took care of the rest and recommended me the blanket

Look into the Innovate PSN-1 nitrous controller. It uses a relay to provide main power to the nitrous system and it can control when the nitrous system gets power or can kill power by parameters on the wideband that you can set up custom for your application. Looks like a sweet little unit for $350ish!

I did learn one thing and that's what a window switch is. I couldn't figure why you'd hook up to the windows controller and now I am educated about what is meant by that. Thank You for that. Oh you’re gonna love it. The 5.0’s love nitrous and give them the torque the coyotes lack!
Its just like any other power adder you need other supporting mods, good fuel and good safe tune. I don't think it's unsafe at all never did just people who don't really understand it and hear horror stories think nitrous = blown motors but that isn't true.
If you haven't done it yet, they make direct port intake spacer kits for the coyotes that work amazing.

After watching the video I was thinking about what if in the rare case you missed a gear while shifting. Would that not be catastrophic to your engine? Is there away to keep it from spraying if you do miss your gear?

10lb bottle is the most common
Depends on the shot size per quarter mile pass. Usually a 100 shot you can do 6-7 passes on one bottle.
There’s other brand pressure regulators I’ve got a comp cams brand one but I wouldn’t recommend it lol it’s already leaking. From the screw where you adjust it leaked out almost a whole bottle @ 8$ a lb I wasn’t very happy. So at the moment I’m just using the toggle switch to turn mine on and off but I have a digital pressure gauge on my A pillar. This is actually the 2nd time watching this video I watched it about 6 months ago before I put the nitrous on my car. I wish I woulda went with a nx kit though. I got the zex and can’t figure out how to wire my window switch and can’t run a nitrous controller because the zex kit comes with a management unit that houses the solenoids with only 3 wires coming from it. Ground power and wot switch wire nothing to wire the window switch to or a controller. I know ppl run window switches with the zex kit but I just can’t figure out how to wire it in but I absolutely can’t find anyone that’s successfully used a controller with a zex management unit. Thinking about pulling the zex kit off my 3v and putting it on my 2v and getting a nx kit for the 3v

I have bought a zex nitrous kit. I got help from nx express and no help from zex I wish I would have went with nx but any thing else I am buying for it I will go through nx express. I need a window switch and bottle heater as well as remote bottle opener.

How hot do these bottles get in the trunk, in the middle of a hot summer day?
A full bottle will get damn near 1800-2000 psi. These bottles have a pop off of 3000 psi. I recommend if you car is out in the sun and not in a garage pull the bottle out when you’re not using it

So what are you doing transmission wise, is it a stock T-45 or do you have upgraded synchros. And what clutch do you run?
Stock t45 and stage 2 spec clutch and flywheel. Stock t45 just took a dump in December and broke a shift fork. I will be upgrading to a built tr3650 very soon.

I have a 95 gt, 302 5.0 all stock, and never used nitrous before and just want to start with a 50 shot. Would I be better off with a dry kit for that small of a shot? Once again I have no nitrous experience and any help would be awesome.

I installed the same kit and my car is running lean I think the plate is the issue.
It’s not the issue, you probably need to change the jets. Mine never ran lean

Full throttle switch was good for me and let off gas thru shifts .nitrous off the line is mean shit instant torque 75 shot wet is ok off the line but 100 shot up window switch 2 degrees of timing retarded for every 50
