this is AMAZING!! Never thought I'd see a hardcore band on Tiny Desk. PLEASE, more of this!! there are so many creative, innovative, *important* bands in the world of heavy music right now. So many voices that should be heard :)
@@Glitterkid yesss!! loved that, and loved how they changed the arrangements to fit the vibe of tiny desk. i wish tiny desk sessions were available on spotify :')
@WirmerFlagge (to Wirmer, if the @ glitch affects this) I honestly have so much sympathy for your miserable perspective to even come close to this idea
I'm not usually super into non-melodic type music. But this was amazing. Like a wall of sound, great rhythm, and angsty vocals. This was cathartic. I'm gonna have to go look closer at their lyrics.
I booked these guys to play at my college last year. It was the best show I’d ever seen. Pierce is a class act and later offered a joint to me. Bless up. Free Palestine.
I would've LOVED this group if I was 30 years younger. My nerves can't take it now but glad to know there are still groups out there raging against the darkness and riling people up.
Amazing performance by an important band to the entire scene. Thank you NPR and Tiny Desk for introducing Soul Glo to many who would otherwise never have been blessed with their hardcore greatness 🤘
I am so here for the hardcore Renaissance! In a world where hip hop goes country just because it's what sells, the purity and report from the ground floor feeling, is what draws people to hardcore.

I've seen many a Tiny Desks, but I never saw this coming. I mean, I was excited PUP was on (even if from their home) and they're just some ripping pop-punk. Thanks for the dose of energy from one of the best contemporary hardcore bands around in Soul Glo-I needed this. Hopefully, they aren't "Banned in D.C." like some other legends after this one. ;)
I saw Soul Glo open for Armand Hammer a few years ago... Not having heard them before, and being a fan of punk rock and hip-hop, I was pleasantly surprised. An unexpected opener, for sure.
Amazing! Such a good band! Also, I want to agree with those who've already said it; more hardcore on Tiny Desk, please! In fact, more heavy music in general would be good. I love that Tiny Desk has such a variety of music, but heavier music is quite conspicuous in its absence. I understand why, though. Louder music is hard to record and perform in the way Tiny Desk is recorded with shotgun mics and no monitors, but I have two suggestions for how it could possibly be done: 1) Provide a drum kit with low volume heads and cymbals to make it easier on the drummer (jazz and jazz adjacent drumming is easier to play quieter because it was pioneered by people accommodating acoustic instruments, but it's much harder to play Hardcore, punk and Metal drums quietly) 2) Hire a boom operator who can follow vocalists around a bit (like they would follow actors) and possibly have someone holding a pistol grip, out of shot somewhere, who can pick up anything the boom can't keep up with. Anyway, that's my two cents. I'm not actually expecting anyone to read this comment, to be honest, lol, so if you did, feel free to say hi.
This is hilarious how they are constantly holding themselves back from just absolutely DESTROYING the room.
Slammed dance forever!
the sound guy must have had an anxiety attack when that expensive mic gets treated like an old dented sm58!
"URGE TO JUMP OFF DESK RISING........RISING....."
I mean its quite literally where people work so ya know they probably didn’t want to destroy it to much
i wish they did, only decent content they'd have made that day. this is terrible hardcore

Anaiah's jazz trio would be a perfect fit for Tiny Desk

diaspora problems is an amazing album i recommend
Once you dive into their lyrics, you will connect with the emotions even more. Diaspora Problems is really a special album.
They’re special. They’re also as hardcore as it gets 🤘🏼
Glad to see some hardcore on Tiny Desk. People will not like this lol.
Never listened to it before, but I fuccin love it
Never heard of them. Not my style, but it seems they are good in their genre.
same for me never heard of em but it’s disgustingly hard, when i clicked on the video i was expecting rnb tbh

Saw them at NDY fest in Toronto in 2016. Most interesting band on the bill and they played at 4pm.
Greetings from Perú Lima, I loved your music
This is the coolest guest decision Tiny Desk has made in a looooong time. Soul Glo needs more ears, not the [insert] major label millionaire artist.
They seem like such lovely young men. Love the commitment to the noise. Very entertaining.
