It's a real punch in the heart to see her alive and loving the moment again in this session . Like she's not gone almost. What a loss to this world was her unique voice and soul.
I saw the Cranberries in 1996. In Wallingford CT. I was 16 yrs old going with my best friend Dan Kaminski.. his mom drove us on our map quest directions.. they weren't great.. be finally found the place.. felt like the middle of the woods.. Finding our amazing seats.. the show was great.. she was barefoot the entire time. But they didn't play dreams.. then an encore.. but they didn't play dreams.. I refused to leave.. 15 mins went by. I stood up in disbelief ready to leave the show in tears.. two steps out if the aisle.. I heard the cord.. quickly we went back to our spot and the crowd rushed back in.. as dreams finally played best concert ever!! RIP Beautiful Woman

Right there with you. As a 41yr old dude raised in a cult and not allowed to music, listening to a copy of their first album given to me by a friend changed my life.
I had been going down a Cranberries rabbit hole on my drives home the past few months. Never really listened beyond my commute, discovered this on UA-cam and had no idea she had passed away in 2018 until I got to the comments section. Rest in peace, Dolores really is the voice of a generation. Thank you to her and The Cranberries for such beautiful, sincere and such heart felt music. Watching this whole thing with a bit of a tear in my eye now, and will probably every time I listen to their music from now on.

We truly miss such an amazing vocalist even though we are worlds apart. Zombie played in my generation like crazy, and even common people knew about the Northern Ireland issues... not because of BBC, but all because of the song. From Northeastern India.
I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of Tiny Desk Concerts. This one is the best. The charm if actually feeling like they just showed up and were asked to bring out guitars is amazing. The production feels dated, but it makes it so charming . They just look happy playing their songs. It is so rock n roll. They took the request to play Zombie, and obviously didn’t plan on playing it but did it anyway.
I think it was cool that they seemed happy to do Zombie and played it with all their hearts after probably playing that more than any other song. So cool
You say the production feels outdated and I assuming you mean the set up of being in a office and often doing stripped back versions of tracks, kind of like the live lounge days. Listen to the sound production though, it's absolutely fantastic every time.
Dolores was so warm and interested in any requests and there was no hesitation or disappointment when somebody requested Zombie. Really warms my heart, what a voice what a performance. ❤

Hard core house music , alternative and hip hop listener here. I’m a 44 year old male, and I had to fight back tears 20 seconds into this performance. The reality this artist is gone and the nostalgia of years gone by hit as hard as a Tyson uppercut. Although she left sometime ago, she still here today through this gem performance reminding the youth of the 90s to live life to the fullest. Thank you Dolores
I love when Dolores is so in a state of flow: "just gimme the note", bam straight into the next song. There's something uplifting in seeing a band like that reuniting after a long time, all knowing how much life has passed since their glory days, and how much more precious time is.
Totally characteristic of Dolores, she would do that all the time, just watch videos like Zombie or Animal Instinct, I love when she does that, such a signature move
You can see sometimes she freezes her eyes for a few seconds as if she is thinking, she not only sings but also feels the music, really she was a unique person.
Dolores O'Riordan may the Light bring to your blessed Soul, in Heaven, all my love and gratitude. You helped me going through a rough childhood, teenagehood and the logical suite of such a bad beginning. Almost 40 years of having your melodies in the pocket, in case of sorrow attacks. I will always listen to your voice, tears in the eyes, and joy in the soul. I love you The Cranberries❤ For ever.
The cranberries deserve a lot more recognition. This beautiful Irish woman just bleeds her soul into her magnificent voice.. that translates to raw emotion that anyone listening just cant deny.
I agree with the sentiment, but don't they have more than plenty of recognition? They have one of the biggest hits of the 90s, and besides that, they maintained a very substantial fan base since then. A lot of their material was also critically well received.
I can't even imagine the pride Irish people feel listening to her. I feel so much of it and I'm nowhere near Ireland. What an absurdly talented, skilled and timeless voice and human being. I can't help but cry listening to Linger it's such a beautiful song. The greatest thing about her music is not another soul on the planet can capture the essence of it, nobody.
Truly. Proving the music never dies. And they still feel it and are completely committed to it. It satisfies a longing deep inside for hope, for continuity.
because you see them "real" you see them reachable and you feel they are closer to you and have more in common with them than what you thought , they grow old with you but grew more intimate like if we own a part of their music , cranberries always will remind me my high school years 1999-2001 their music spoke to me in many levels , that's why we grin , besides all the storms and time they are still together as band performing the same music that has become just even better
As soon as I began watching this, I could see the pain in beautiful Dolorus' face. She was an angel who was too good for this world and the pain that she carried with her finally took her home. I will be forever grateful for the hauntingly stunning music that she left behind. May Dolorus' memory forever be a blessing.

The memorials surrounding the photo were still there two years after her death. Brought a tear to my eyes. You couldn't live in the nineties without hearing the Cranberries. Amazing
@@optimusprime_png googling, i think its "Johnny’s Kitchen is an Irish Pub located in Lyon, France. The Cranberries were playing in Lyon on November 20th so the photo was then published a few days after, when the band was not in the city anymore." c/p that u can find the article

Notice how she moves her hands and her face expressions while she sings.... she's played these songs a million times but for her it's not a job or another concert.... she puts 100% of her heart in every note as if she's trying to give you her best performance ever....
Love her face at the beginning of Zombie. She has played that song countless times over the years and probably was constantly requested to play it, but you can tell she still takes pride in it and loves it. As she should, it’s a brilliant song. RIP.
There is something in Delores's' voice that just seems to hint at hundreds of years of irish pain. Similar to the great bluesmen of the Mississippi delta and Georgia. Amazing music.
jesse hays A lot of Irish and Scottish folk music has a haunting tone. Hitting that emotion with beauty is simply in the Celtic/Gaelic wheelhouse; they don't shy away in those cultures.
Incredible how naturally talented they are and Dolores’ singing . It’s just raw natural talent. Mesmerising to watch. One of best bands ever. Makes me proud to be Irish. R.I.P Dolores
I've been watching cranberries videos tonight on different channels, and there are a ton of Portuguese comments that I can't read, so I believe that it's a thing. I think that's pretty cool that great music like this can pull at hearts of people equally from across oceans with different cultures.
@@somethingelse4424 they were a huge success all over the world. Music is the universal language. To be honest, even when I was a kid and didn't speak English, didn't understand what they were singing but I could feel it.
Her vocals sound like they’re lifted off of the studio recordings, even though she’s singing in an office. What an amazing live performance, from the whole band. Exquisite.
@@KeyboardistMonsterthey are insanely good, it’s a heavy rock band playing acoustic with no pedals to stomp on for effects. Her voice is amazing for the single type of shotgun mic they’re using.
I was her hairdresser in limerick Annette is my name she was a lovely little girl had a heart of gold in her a beautiful singer she was the best ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Dolores O'Riordan is an eternal gem. Rest easy. Her message is powerful and resonates within the hearts of people across the entire globe to this very day. She was not wrong.
Yeah it really gets to me once in awhile when I listen to the cranberries. Dolores O'riordan was such an amazing talent. Definitely gone far to soon like so many others.
It was a delight to hear a singer actually sing in their native accent and not a fake American one. Desperately sad news yesterday; quite hard to take in.
2023 now and Delores's voice is the closest thing I have ever heard to the sound of magic. Her spirit, her energy, her quirks, her inflections, . It is crystal clear she was blessed with greatness. A genius in her time. Something REAL special. She could sail away on the tears that were shed from her passing. Burning so bright, a beacon in the night, you can feel her light and you can tell something is right.
As a young man in the 90s I was in awe of this beautiful woman, with her amazing voice that exuded so much of what would lead me to Irish singers and music before her. She is for me a legend without a doubt. 1❤️.
That look from Mike at 15:17 says it all. When Dolores O'Riordan gets in her zone she has few peers. But the whole combination of Cranberries makes this work Mike Hogan's bass lines are such a brilliant groove Noel Hogan's guitar weaves in and out providing melody and filling the holes flawlessly Fergal Lawler's drumming and timing are perfect backbone that gets you thumping along I miss them. Gone too soon. RIP Dolores
Stop crying everyone! Embrace this with happiness, not loss. Thank goodness for video and recording or else we couldn’t connect into something like this. I understand the remorse but turn those tears into lost fears.
Have loved this band since I was a teenager. Tears in my eyes as I type this. We love you Dolores O’Riordan. RIP beautiful lady, you will be deeply missed.
Robert Burr strangely Robert that wailing of the voice is actually a quiet common trait of Irish women singers. I think it comes from the style of Irish traditional music .
There were a hundred radio songs that I liked when I was 11 years old. … but seeing this at 42, she is captivating in this setting and also beautiful. It’s too bad I didn’t follow them all these years.
I would not be able to focus on playing an instrument while she is absolutely crushing it. The real stars are the guys playing the instruments and how they were able to see because of the light illuninating from this absolute angel.
Well done Cranberries. Its takes a lot of professional guts to open yourself up in such an intimate area especially when you are world renowned band - with much more to lose than to gain. And they pulled it off superbly. I read a couple of comments about Delores' voice - some idiots think she losing it. You have to remember, she performing with absolutely no production assistance - its as if the Cranberries are playing in a local pub - of course her voice is going to sound a bit different and also, she singing songs some of which are twenty years old. Her voice is still exceptional - she still has it. Now, hopefully she can put her personal life in order.
She doesnt hit those high yodeling notes these days (a female backup vocalist does instead) as much. Possible that the vocal nodules reappeared. That plagued her in the mid nineties too. I agree though, shes still brilliant, and just like a fine wine, she gets better with age. She seems evened out now.
+Maxwell Van Pelt I totally agree with u she lost it she doesn't hit the high notes or even yodel anymore or even play the guitar it has nothing to do with the setting bc even on tour she has the back up singer hit the notes and yodel it's horrible I was absolutely in love with the cranberries I still am but wouldn't waste my money anymore on seeing them live and I used to see them live everytime they came around but it's not even worth it anymore y should I go to c and hear some unknown girl sing most of her songs....it's such a shame what happened to her Voice but that's what happens with years of smoking and partying and not taking care of ur voice!!!!
I don't know how anyone who listened to that performance of Zombie could think Delores is losing it. Best performance of any song I've heard in a while. Lots of emotion in that one.
That song gives me such nostalgia from my childhood. My dad was a big Cranberries fan and I just enjoyed the entertainment value at the time, but man listening to the lyrics as an adult on top of the memories hearing it brings, oof I'm done for.

The reality this artist is gone and the nostalgia of years gone by hit as hard as a Tyson uppercut. Although she left sometime ago, she still here today through this gem performance reminding the youth of the 90s to live life to the fullest. Thank you Dolores
don't fight those tears ;) let it out!
Well said very powerful performance
Dolores, you got me through so much, I hope you're resting properly
Pull yourself together you cry baby
❤️
She was born 3 days before me in 71 and I first heard her voice while in college. I will never forget her.
This is so raw, so intense. No editing, no auto tune. Just a real artist with a wonderful voice. Cheers.
Agreed, The kind going extinct these days of auto tune and bland non sense lyricists.
Unplugged really makes a difference
Yes, yes, yes...so glad i found this video

I love when Dolores is so in a state of flow: "just gimme the note", bam straight into the next song. There's something uplifting in seeing a band like that reuniting after a long time, all knowing how much life has passed since their glory days, and how much more precious time is.
Her gestures, the way she moves her fingers, her hands, her sad and beautiful eyes. Her voice. What a fascinating woman.
Yes, seems so sensitive and raw ❤️
Totally characteristic of Dolores, she would do that all the time, just watch videos like Zombie or Animal Instinct, I love when she does that, such a signature move
She was amazing! One of my favorite bands! Unfortunately, like many ....gone too soon! :-(. RIP Dolores.
Yea she had great personally very down to earth
You can see sometimes she freezes her eyes for a few seconds as if she is thinking, she not only sings but also feels the music, really she was a unique person.
Sitting in quarantine and listening to her voice while crying is my new mood
Get well soon, stay strong! :)
Never related to anything more 😂
Welcome: we have been listening and crying for years lol
Cry tears that fit your mood, and listen to lots of music?
Right?
I miss The Cranberries, but I am so thankful for being able to see them in concert several times back in the day.
this is still one of the best mini concert. the arrangement, the vocals, the set list. we miss you queen. your music will live forever.

may the Light bring to your blessed Soul, in Heaven, all my love and gratitude.
You helped me going through a rough childhood, teenagehood and the logical suite of such a bad beginning. Almost 40 years of having your melodies in the pocket, in case of sorrow attacks.
I will always listen to your voice, tears in the eyes, and joy in the soul.
I love you The Cranberries❤
For ever.
For me they’re super famous. My country don’t speak English but everybody knows zombie.

2024 here friend, hope you're doing great.
Just popped up in my feed right before bed. ❤😢 gone too soon. Such a talented woman.
Something about seeing some of my favorite bands aged and playing music in an intimate setting just makes me grin from ear to ear.
i couldnt have described the feeling i have from stuff like this better.
Sitting here crying feeling so blessed that these moments were captured in time. What a voice. 💓
Same here

As soon as I began watching this, I could see the pain in beautiful Dolorus' face. She was an angel who was too good for this world and the pain that she carried with her finally took her home. I will be forever grateful for the hauntingly stunning music that she left behind. May Dolorus' memory forever be a blessing.

wandered into an Irish pub in Lyon France. To my surprise there was a picture of her with the owner. She apparently stopped in every time they were in Lyon. The memorials surrounding the photo were still there two years after her death. Brought a tear to my eyes. You couldn't live in the nineties without hearing the Cranberries. Amazing
what pub is that do you know? im going to be in lyon over the summer and it would be nice to visit
@@optimusprime_png googling, i think its "Johnny’s Kitchen is an Irish Pub located in Lyon, France. The Cranberries were playing in Lyon on November 20th so the photo was then published a few days after, when the band was not in the city anymore." c/p that u can find the article

Kudos to NPR for capturing and immortalizing these precious, intimate moments.

Notice how she moves her hands and her face expressions while she sings.... she's played these songs a million times but for her it's not a job or another concert.... she puts 100% of her heart in every note as if she's trying to give you her best performance ever....
I had to come listen to this as I hear of her passing today. Her voice still brings tears to my eyes! R.I.P Dolores.
One voice One singer One Dolores.....Missing your voice ...missing you😢❤
Love her face at the beginning of Zombie. She has played that song countless times over the years and probably was constantly requested to play it, but you can tell she still takes pride in it and loves it. As she should, it’s a brilliant song. RIP.

I love how she gives her band mates little subtle smiles. There is something very special about her.

She was a unique and special talent! I only wish I had seen them live before she passed, always been a fan.
There is something in Delores's' voice that just seems to hint at hundreds of years of irish pain. Similar to the great bluesmen of the Mississippi delta and Georgia. Amazing music.
Yeah, it's her Irish accent.
Most Irish female singers have that skip in their vocals...listen to the Corrs they got that too
jesse hays A lot of Irish and Scottish folk music has a haunting tone. Hitting that emotion with beauty is simply in the Celtic/Gaelic wheelhouse; they don't shy away in those cultures.
No there's definitely something very special in her tone/ inflection. I agree with you 100%
jesse hays I agree!
Incredible how naturally talented they are and Dolores’ singing . It’s just raw natural talent. Mesmerising to watch. One of best bands ever. Makes me proud to be Irish. R.I.P Dolores

Brazilians are Irish too because we were bitten by this musical virus. So much soul. I'm in love.

For those revisiting: the answer is: yes. Solid writing and evocative musical talent still stand the test of time and are eternal.
I remember my dad showing me this group when I was a little kid. Im 27 now. Their lyrics just hit so deep throughout the years
Her vocals sound like they’re lifted off of the studio recordings, even though she’s singing in an office. What an amazing live performance, from the whole band. Exquisite.
Arguable
they're really bad, let's not pretend and and act patronizing pls

I love her accent coming through.
Yeah her accent isn't too bad fuck j ward
Hi JW, this is the strongest version of her Limerick accent I have ever heard . Absolutely fantastic
Just make's her sexier
One of my favorite things about her...
It was a delight to hear a singer actually sing in their native accent and not a fake American one. Desperately sad news yesterday; quite hard to take in.
2024 and her music still lingers. Let Cranberries music linger on for eternity.

That look from Mike at 15:17 says it all.
When Dolores O'Riordan gets in her zone she has few peers.
But the whole combination of Cranberries makes this work Mike Hogan's bass lines are such a brilliant groove
Noel Hogan's guitar weaves in and out providing melody and filling the holes flawlessly
Fergal Lawler's drumming and timing are perfect backbone that gets you thumping along
I miss them.
Gone too soon. RIP Dolores

Robert Burr strangely Robert that wailing of the voice is actually a quiet common trait of Irish women singers. I think it comes from the style of Irish traditional music .

fun fact, Linger was the first lyrics Dolores showed to the band before they started working together.
I absolutely love this band! I'm proud to have had the chance to see them perform live in São Paulo, Brazil.
+BIRISHPM Agreed! She sounded AWESOME! Love her voice!
+BIRISHPM I actually think her voice sounds even better now!
She absolutely still has such an awe-inspiring voice.
So raw and beautiful how she gets so deep in the music. One of the best tiny desk sessions by far.
