Head of youth development nationality & scouting range definitely impact your intake. Another thing I’ve found that I think helps is the amount of players you give opportunities too… I always make sure I have at least 1 home grown player in my starting XI and I found after I started doing that I’d get slightly more consistent intakes. You’ll get a yearly email of who has the best academy and who’s produced the most international players, I think being top of that helps. Although it’s probably tied into reputation as you’ve already said.
You can set which staff member is responsable for you youth intake under staff/responsibilkties/advicde and reports/provides youth development reports. Who ever you put in there is doing your youth recruitment. It can be your HOY, DOF, Tech. Direct., Youth Team Manager, Assistant Manager.
@@CimbomFanFiction Personality and abilities are both important. The better the abilities are, the better is the chance for a wonderkid with high potential. To develop well your wonderkids need to be as professional as possible and have a determination von at least 10. The higher the hidden value for professionalism is the higher is the chance for the players of your youth intake to have a high value, too. For me the favourite formation for my HOY is not important, because ussually my young players are in one of my youth teams for some time, before they are relevant for my first team. So there is plenty of time to retrain them in another position. But I also have an Eye on the repution of my HOY, because I think that has something to do withe the qualty of players. But maybe this is just a coincedence, but it doesn't hurt either ;)

For a few fm saves over the years I couldn’t work out why my youth sides would always be good for a while but over time of my manager career my youth squads would get slowly worse - it’s because I was in charge of signing youth players for those squads, so switching that reposniblitky I’ve managed to find a few gems in my youth squads that my dof or hoy have found. I personally went with: (In charge of signing players): HOY (In charge of contracts): DOF

I think it’s scouting knowledge from all your staff! Did a PSG youth only save last year and had the 3 best Canadian players in the world come through my intakes since I set my nationality to Canadian! (Not from there I just like the flag lol)
Yeah I’ve consistently observed that if you have a scout from a country, you will start getting players from that country in your youth intake, even in the lower leagues and if it’s a tiny random country.
I set my second nationality to China last FM, and it lead to a massive swell of Chinese players coming through, not just for me but also Bayern, Dortmund and a few others (managed in Germany). Got to the point where China got to 14th in world rankings, and the german national team was half chinese by 2043….
I’m doing a save in Belgium. Mid season when you get a heads up about how your youth intake is looking, it was disastrous. My highest rating was C and most were D. Then it comes round to youth intake day and I have a golden generation with 3 elite talents and about 5 or 6 great talents. What the hell is going on here? I was so surprised when it happened as I had been lead to believe I had a dreadful youth intake coming. Feels like the game bugged or something, can’t think of any logical reason why that would have happened?
Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but Usually the first email you get about your youth intake with the ratings is purely based on quantity rather than quality, that’s when the second email in March time comes into play because that’s when the quantity of youth players is evaluated fully to give you a accurate view
@middler5 well, some previews were horrible to the point where they were given a 0.5 star rating when, in reality, the worst it would have been is a 4 star. Had that happen to me
I don't think it's correct that "Youth facilities" relate to the facilities of the players prior to joining. Youth facilities are the facilities that your U19/18 teams use. Junior coaching relates to the "facilities" prior to players joining your team. That's why it's called "Youth intake". I can confirm this because as Benfica, when I looked to sign a 19 year old, the board said in the contract section that this "meeting the criterial of using the youth facilities to develop players". Seeing as you only develop players that are in your team, youth facilities must relate to your younger players that are in your squad visible to you.
Hi mate, it’s been confirmed by SI many times that the youth facilities are for the youth players before they come into your game, once the players are visible in fm they use your training facilities
What about the personnalities of your other youth coaches? I remember a Bust the net video a few years back where he mentionned it had an effect. Can anyone confirm?

I had a half star youth intake with 2 5 star potentials and 4 4 star potentials
The previews are deliberately unreliable.

Your scouts too also play an important role in diversity. I have a polish scout with 18 JA and 20JP and I got a polish gem from my youth intake
I think every staff member affects it actually (even you as a manager)
