Won it with Ajax in season 1, 2, 3 and 4, while at the same time managing the Dutch national team and guiding them to Euro 2020 and World Cup 2022 victory. I'd say I'm pretty Special too. Although Ajax is not that bad of a team for the CL, it's not that easy winning it in the first and second season. Also my transferbudget ended up somewhere in the range of 600million.

Didn't know I needed this video. you're an amazing addition to the yt fm landscape. You made me realise how little I know of this game after 5 years of playing. Well done!
I'm on my 11th season as Coach of Bayern Munich right now, pretty early to the start I got a kid from Munich called Tomislav Madjaric, plays on both wings and had 5 Star Potential. I immediately signed him, he destroyed the entire U19 League. When he turned 18 I loaned him out to SSC Napoli where he made like 15 goals and 7 assists in 37 Games, at that point he had already four full stars. I decided to sell Antonio Marin, who was starting on the left wing so far but started to decline due to numerous injuries, started Tomi there the next season and he just continued to destroy everything. Meanwhile I'm in the Year 2031, played the last three CL Finals, won two of those, and Madjaric made last years CL Winning goal in our own home stadium. He's by far my favourite youth player I've ever got in FM.

Look at all your youth players that you think may develop into good players and then put high minimum asking prices on them. For example, with Everton I immediately put an "£80m" price on Jarrod Branthwaite, as I saw Manchester City and a couple of other teams had Major transfer interest in him. There's about 8 other players in the under-23 and under-18 squads that I've popped minimum values of £10-40m on, to dissuade any low bids that my Youth setup decide are acceptable. It's working so far.

Eduard Van den Brink each country have their own rules. In Norway you have non-binding youth contracts (for insurance and registration) at age 12 or something. Then at 15/16 clubs in the same country can give professional contracts, not until age 18 can foreign clubs sign players- which is a FIFA regulation. 5:15 sadly weston-super-mare is not in any of these leagues since they got relegated on 2019-2020. I'm actually sad about that, they were my team for FM19
on old fm's singing players and having players from other countries effected it, promoting young players to first team and playing them also used to increase it the potial of amazing regens you would get . I tested it for years on fm12 with truro city. In my first 3 intakes I had a player better then ronaldo and messi and with the rest all being premier league potential that was in the lowest tier playable in england. not sure if it's the same with fm21 but maybe that's something to try out not singing players and promoting players.
Is there any evidence showing the reputation of the Head of Youth Dev growing? And does is, again, simply grow from being attached to a winning team or is there any sign that their rep might grow if, for example, they recruit a high potential prospect to the club?
I think reputation is going up with licences (he is treated as a coach) also the reputation is based on his nationality. Do they are more acknowledged with time or club development? Have no idea. Maybe we'll known ex player has a higher rating at the beginning and that's the way to look for ones later after they retire?
Can't speak for 2020, but in the past there seemed to be an element of randomness where the recruit generator(despite low reputations) can/would produce GOAT's in the strangest places....including Stevenage :)
In FM Touch to get a good youth intake you have to pay FM extra monies. In game purchases suck and everyone hates them but FM is using them in Touch. So, just forget about youth intakes in Touch.
Duh, I missed the scouting range from my foreign head of youth development too lol, real SMH moment when I saw that bit. I have Bernard Peters (he is AMAZING), but he is German, and I have Atalanta, and his scouting knowledge is only from German, not an aota in Italy yet. P.S I couldnt find the tool editor thing in my steam, and I bought the game there, bit odd.
Hey there , amazing video, keep it up ! Two things are new to me though which I cant find , so do you have a SI forum post or anything to back it up ? - Scouting knowledge of the country you are at from HOYD and HOYD / Player reputation being a factor at all.
Great video! But if all that's true this means that the future Messi, Ronaldo, Pele, etc. can only appear in the top clubs? Is this realistic? Many of the great players have started from clubs, which are not that successful. How does it work for clubs like Ajax, Stuttgart or Southampton - in real life these are clubs, which produce some of the best players?
Do you know if adjustments made in the editor effects already started saves? I mean I have set Norway's youth ranking at 200, junior coaches and facilities already 20, superb head of youth development, I have been save scumming for hours just to see, and I have had maybe 1 out of 100 intakes described as average, the rest simply crap.
I’m currently Basel, into 4th season, Alan Irvine is my HOYD. All youth facilities and training ground are the best. But I still keep getting a rubbish youth intake. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong? Basel are meant to have one of the best youth facilities on the game, and I just can’t produce any decent players !
Is there a rang of "type of personality" from the best personality to the worse for Head of youth development? example is ambitious better than determined or is determined better that fairly professionel?
Got the best young player of all time last season with my lazio team 2019vz in 2029 Ceylon Wormgoor dutch AM.. he unfortunately done his knee 6 monther.. hes just back dont worry he will still make it ahahaha eventually hopefully..
All players use the 'training' facilities, including youth players. 'Youth facilities' is supposed 'simulate training before intake' which is just a fancy way of saying it makes a 10% CA difference at youth intake time. 'Junior coaching' has 40% effect on PA and 0% on CA, on youth intake, and has nothing to do with player progression either. I wouldn't recommend moving the youth players to first team unless you actually intend on using them for first team though.
Anybody knows how to get more trainers on -18 and-23 and get higher loans for them, asking for more loan on trainers or askin extra trainees only seem to work for main team, love the video !!
am i crazy for not having a head of youth development? marc overmars just retired and Im waiting for a club legend or for my assistant coach to take the role eventually
Once youth intakes start I offer trials to the most expensive youth prospects from each team. They always accept and you get an instant coach report. Sign the best ones on a free (with compensation) and you're laughing. Youth intake month mastered!
Abcdefg32 1 there is no rough estimate it can happen ANY RANDOM TIME in my norwich save it happend in september and in my RB Leipzig save it was in May
Who needs it. Head up to higher divisions and hoover up all those kids let loose by those teams who are way better than kids at your level. Buys time for you to recruit better staff.
why do I never get any 4 star youth prospects, its always a couple of 2.5 stars and 3-4 2 star players every club every season, I am in the year 2045 in my 3rd club and seems the same every time despite managing man u and having a great HOYD
@zealand If you edit the Youth Rating of a Nation on Editor2020, does it apply on an already saved game that you want to continue? Or does it take Effect ONLY when you start a new save?
Its would be take effect when you start a new save, 'cause it is 'Pre-Game Editor'. But, if you want to improve it on your current save, just use 'In-Game Editor'.
Is it worth bringing in a Head of Youth Development who is a model citizen, 18 working with youngsters and really good jpa/jpp, also good attributes in determination, motivating and discipline but doesn't have any knowledge of the country the club is based in?

So how come I didn't get a single youth intake in a whole year? And why did the my analysis stay there for 6 months? And then changed as soon as I got promoted, (got better) but why did I get a summary but it's just been sitting there for almost a season?
Thats what happened me, however i realised those guys are all on trial!, you need to go to development centre and then to youth intake and then offer contracts to the ones you want. I cant remember off hand what month, id just keep checkin each week until you see the list of them and then take whatever ones you want.
Hey, I know this is way late but just thought of something. Does scouting range have any effect on players coming into your youth intake, like, if my scouting range is only local (lets say uk), can I still get players from outside of the uk in my youth intake? Thanks

1. Are CA/PA judging stable for HoYD?
2. How to increase reputation of your HoYD? Is it linked to club reputation?
I think the reputation rises if your club is winning games. The same happens with your reputation and all of the staff.
5:15 sadly weston-super-mare is not in any of these leagues since they got relegated on 2019-2020. I'm actually sad about that, they were my team for FM19
Great video!
Could you make a video about injuries and how to prevent?
Helpful tips as ever 👍🏾
on old fm's singing players and having players from other countries effected it, promoting young players to first team and playing them also used to increase it the potial of amazing regens you would get . I tested it for years on fm12 with truro city. In my first 3 intakes I had a player better then ronaldo and messi and with the rest all being premier league potential that was in the lowest tier playable in england.
not sure if it's the same with fm21 but maybe that's something to try out not singing players and promoting players.
this intro
precisely
As an Indonesian, i'm surprised when someone mention Indonesia in Football Manager.
FM Base wow you did manage indonesia team? What team?
Is there any evidence showing the reputation of the Head of Youth Dev growing? And does is, again, simply grow from being attached to a winning team or is there any sign that their rep might grow if, for example, they recruit a high potential prospect to the club?
I think reputation is going up with licences (he is treated as a coach) also the reputation is based on his nationality. Do they are more acknowledged with time or club development? Have no idea. Maybe we'll known ex player has a higher rating at the beginning and that's the way to look for ones later after they retire?
At 9:28 you turned into Sylvester Stallone for a moment!
these intros keep getting better and better
Can't speak for 2020, but in the past there seemed to be an element of randomness where the recruit generator(despite low reputations) can/would produce GOAT's in the strangest places....including Stevenage :)
Grey Mouser even like India can have the next Messi in a save game, however the probability of it is small
This video was just the things I wondered, great tips 👍 nice video 🏆
In FM Touch to get a good youth intake you have to pay FM extra monies. In game purchases suck and everyone hates them but FM is using them in Touch. So, just forget about youth intakes in Touch.
I love these videos! Your amazing!!!
@@ZealandonYT Yeah, didnt get me the option for it.
Snusmumrikken the pre-game editor no. but there is an in-game editor you can buy and then it should affect your current file
I’m currently Basel, into 4th season, Alan Irvine is my HOYD. All youth facilities and training ground are the best. But I still keep getting a rubbish youth intake. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong? Basel are meant to have one of the best youth facilities on the game, and I just can’t produce any decent players !
maybe your youth players aren't actually that bad but your squad is too good in comparison? Maybe your youth recruitment isnt good
Maybe because he's Scottish trying to scout players in Switzerland. I could be wrong though
Your way of speaking remind me so much of that "gradualreport" guy with serbian lessons :D
DUDE... so surprised not to hear a british accent
Does moving young players to the first team then just making available for the youth teams bypass your youth facilities and coaching??
All players use the 'training' facilities, including youth players. 'Youth facilities' is supposed 'simulate training before intake' which is just a fancy way of saying it makes a 10% CA difference at youth intake time. 'Junior coaching' has 40% effect on PA and 0% on CA, on youth intake, and has nothing to do with player progression either. I wouldn't recommend moving the youth players to first team unless you actually intend on using them for first team though.
so you can also just go on the editor and change the youth rating if you want to?
I've just set up my game only just bought it 40 quid ..sweet jesus🙈 🙏🙌👍..Southampton save iam starting..
Bit late but FYI dont buy direct from Steam. Try CD keys, legit company.. and other sites.
Can you please please tell me a rough estimate of months from each top country i cant find the months anywhere
Abcdefg32 1 there is no rough estimate it can happen ANY RANDOM TIME in my norwich save it happend in september and in my RB Leipzig save it was in May
Abcdefg32 1 March 1st onwards for most big European teams
Cookieno9 👍🏼
Thanks lads
Brilliant as usual.
Who needs it. Head up to higher divisions and hoover up all those kids let loose by those teams who are way better than kids at your level. Buys time for you to recruit better staff.
Filippo Galli is must for me with his model citizen personality. Brings in some sexy youngsters
why do I never get any 4 star youth prospects, its always a couple of 2.5 stars and 3-4 2 star players every club every season, I am in the year 2045 in my 3rd club and seems the same every time despite managing man u and having a great HOYD
Love the intro
Hey I know this is a little late but is a head of youth guy better with 5 star rep and 10 on judging CA/PA or 2 star rep with 20 CA/PA
20 CA/PA
xD really good tips and funny videos !
Fifa manager had all youth teams down to age 12 i think. They just generatet regens
Can you make a video about mastering training?
Alan F I was writing a long response then figured you could watch this video instead : ua-cam.com/video/jpB9oh83fBc/v-deo.html
If you have anymore questions after watching that feel free to reply to this message.
TheMrMantequilla thanks
I'm Deportivo la Coruna and find it impossible to get good quality youth coaches/staff with half decent attributes let alone the best staff with good personality traits. Is this a la Liga thing?
I think you have to get more Reputation so the Coaches want to come to you.
I have never had a good youth intake. In 6 full seasons across 3 teams in my latest save. Nobody even close to play in the league I am in let alone a good talent that someone else might want in the future.
I’ve had a few English players with 180PA with Man United.
Hiii I’m pretty new to football manager on pc not played it since like 2013, when hiring youth staff manly manger/ assistant what do I need to look for in them? Help would be appreciated thank you 🙏
So youth rating can change? Literally everyone else says it doesn't
How is there a way to view a nations game importance? Even with the editor I can't find it
ua-cam.com/video/WFiOPPr7vFs/v-deo.html
You can see a nations game importance in the list.
Does this apply to the Touch version as well? Actually can al of your videos be applied to the Touch version?
So how come I didn't get a single youth intake in a whole year? And why did the my analysis stay there for 6 months? And then changed as soon as I got promoted, (got better) but why did I get a summary but it's just been sitting there for almost a season?
@@ZealandonYT okay, just a bit wierd that I got the preview in December and they still haven't arrived by August
Good to know 👍🏾
i cant request board for junior coaching and youth recruitment
@@ZealandonYTi think the does not allow it thanks mate for your help
Won’t let me have more that 6 U18 coaches? I ask the board for more, they agree, but they only raise it to 6 coaches. Any ideas ?
My games never load a youth intake? Just says "every year in march you will get a new youth intake" but I never do on any save so far on fm 20
Thats what happened me, however i realised those guys are all on trial!, you need to go to development centre and then to youth intake and then offer contracts to the ones you want. I cant remember off hand what month, id just keep checkin each week until you see the list of them and then take whatever ones you want.
I'll see how that goes mate cheers 🍻
Hey, I know this is way late but just thought of something. Does scouting range have any effect on players coming into your youth intake, like, if my scouting range is only local (lets say uk), can I still get players from outside of the uk in my youth intake? Thanks
I think so? Mainly no scouting knowledge doesn't have much to do with it
The reputation of the employees could improve by the time they stay in the club?
Hi just got fm2020 i was wondering when exactly is youth intake day?
hey fellow ck2 player! try the other paradox games they are good
You should do a save in Scotland with rangers man, I've been playing FM since 2009 and even I'm learning a lot from your channel, definitely going to check out the twitch stream, a rangers save would be the cherry on the cake 🤯💯
Great vid!
So... If my Dickhead of Youth Development has absurdly good stats, but very low reputation, is there any way of increasing it? Can I pay the news to print odes on him?
does the HOYD personality affect the youth personality?
Yes
I would really like to know his computer build, he keeps saying it can't handle it... I want to know a computer that could meet those demands.
