I love your videos keep up with these type of videos and even the update on your build a nation i dont watch your stream as i dont get teime but i love watching your update videos
Have witnessed how much time this has saved this man compared to the old method on stream, seems to still turn up top, top talent, potentially even better since players not getting called up to youth national sides for the variety of reasons they may not still get hit along with the players you would have scouted before. Plus being able to skip the step of doing the initial one week to find out a player is around 1 star CA with 2 star PA because you already know enough to not que them along with all their team mates from the team report is pretty massive.
Been playing FM for almost a decade now, and this has been THE BEST youth scouting video I've ever seen. So simple, so straightforward - yet maximum output. Love it. Subbed & liked, just coz even if you never make a good video again (judging by the other comments on here, I know that's not true), you still deserve it.

As someone who is going to do saves as Cork City and Termalica in Poland I'd like to know how to build up my Scouting Network//Budget. I know that both you and Zealand have encouraged us to build Scouting Networks but I don't think either of you have done a video about how to do it. This would be really useful for a noob. That's actually an interesting concept, i assume you mean the way that we've prioritised certain types of scouts and slowly built the knowledge levels up so make the initial scouting easier? If so that might make quite a good video as we've found some very interesting stuff on that lately!
@@Secondyellowcard Not exactly what I meant though I'm now interested in that. I was coming from a budgetary side of things. So obviously Scouting in a conventional way is probably a waste of money. So how do you use you Scouting bud get to expand the range and find super cheap players in your Database so you speed your progress in the league table and also sell those players on to reinvest in better players and to continue building up the Scouting network/range. I see a lot of videos on how to do things with Lower League saves but Clubs in other countries with tiny budgets don't get talked about. Thanks Matt.

Great video Matt! I'm 7 years into a save and just won EPL for the first time but, despite having 23 scouts (!!), they're still missing out to our rivals on some of the best wonderkids through the recruitment focuses I've set up. So I'm going to give this a go instead!

How do you add the transfer value column to the scouting update email fields? Not the team reports one but the actual scouting update. The one at the 9:10 mark of the video. I'm playing on steam deck, so I dont know if that affects that...
I believe that's part of the skin i'm using so it might not be possible to see that without using the same skin or one that will allow you to add custom columns. If you're interested the one i'm using is linked in the description :)
I'm definitely gonna do this way of scouting from now on. Sick of seeing 100 reports with 5 players deemed good enough for me and the other 95 utter shit.

The hidden attribute version of the skin is essentially just another skin file so it goes in skins. But note that it'll only work on saves that have the in game editor switched on from the beginning
If you are still wondering mate, this took me about an hour to work out lol. The feature seems pretty broken, but you can get ut to work! Bit hard to explain in writing, but go to the Team Report Priorities page, then click and hold any of the columns as if you were trying to widen or narrow them (you can only do this at the top, next to the column headers). Now, drag UP then you will see the drop-down with the eye appear! You can then go into Custom, Customize current view, then scroll down to and add Squad Size. UNFORTUNATELY this resets every time you leave the page. Only just started trying this technique, so not sure how annoying that is... Saving a view and loading it etc did nothing for me. Hopefully this helps mate if you're still interested lol

You shouldn't have any issues running recruitment focus' alongside it. Might just get a bit confusing in the scouting inbox working out which players are from which source :)
Just found this video! It is awesome. I am having a slight struggle with things though. How do you keep track of how many scouting reports have been made on a player? My scouting centre ends up quite full so keeping an eye on who I have scoured for an additional week after gaining extensive knowledge is tricky.
It's very difficult to keep track unfortunately it'd be really nice if there was an indicator that told you how many time you'd scouted them. The only way to really do it is to remember the player's name or make a note on them in the game. I tend to only use it if it's a key purchase that i want to be 100% sure of
Any way to receive the team reports faster? I used to do something similar where I'd cue up 50+ team reports prior to scouting highly rated players. I'd get 1 team report per day, excluding weekends of course (where i'd get none, typical Italian work ethic) despite having 20+ scouts at my club.
Sadly not, i believe it was back on FM21 and earlier you could get up to 5 reports per day depending on how many scouts you had but now it's limited to one per day even if you have 100 scouts lol. Mine do still come through on weekend though

Thankfully it doesn't matter who you assign them to, you could genuinely assign every report to the same scout and they'd still come through at the same speed. Honestly need a look at from SI on that side of things but for now we take advantage lol

I’m Wigan in the premier league really struggling to find good regens. Therefore I’m trying this idea so once I’ve got the team reports in would you suggesting scouting all the players who have decent potential as I do need players who can perform now. Cheers
This system is more built for finding players for the future, that said you can sometimes stumble across young players who are ready to make an instant impact. The bigger issue i think you might have with Wigan is the work permits for any of these types of players unfortunately

I have one called "Scout The Perfect Player Every Time". That should help you as it deals with finding existing talents that are first team ready rather than younger players :)
@@benhutton7298 Zealand's streams and YT seem to focus on the here-and-now. You just have to watch his Twitch streams (especially the transfer window feeds) and search his channel for the videos. His saves on stream seem to be all about winning now towards promotion, not building for the future. The strategies there seems largely to revolve around scouting players with expiring contracts and loans.

What i do, is when a report comes in, after i've checked the squad, i just send that same report to the back of the queue while i'm there. It's the same amount of work but if you do it day by day, you barely notice the time taken. It also then allows you to add more teams into the circulation as you go along. Or remove teams that aren't doing much :)
Is there any trick to actually sign those 16 year players? From what I can tell you can't get a player to move until they are 18 now and by then multiple clubbs show interest in those players and the price is alot higher then stated in the video for them then.
Thanks for quick response. I will keep trying then but so far 100% is same "Want to stay in club and develop" strategy I am stuck with is try bid the day they turn 18 and if lucky the other clubs are not interested at that moment...
@@BjörnRamnor I've realized it might be tied to how good/reputable/appealing your club is. In my current Germany save I was only able to sign like 1 out of 50 16 year olds from abroad near the start of the save, but now over a decade in as I've gotten reputable and consistently won titles, it's like every 3 out of 5 is willing to sign.
If a team doesn't have a U19s squad, and there is just a first team, is it worth getting a team report on the first team and ignoring all of the older players? Great video btw!
Definitely worth it, it takes the same amount of time and you never know, you might find a fully developed star sat in their first team who just never got a move!

That's really strange, it should be right where i showed it in the video. Just to check you are playing FM on PC and not console? As it might be different for console versions

Now that I've played with this a bit, just wanted to add that besides finding those wonderkids it is absolutely amazing at finding bargain players. Maybe not the quality for the absolute top clubs but you can find a ton of really good players with upside for well under 1 mil. and make great profit. Kind of annoying it's limited to 1 report per day no matter how many scouts you have. Although it's OP as it is 😅
I'm glad it's working so well for you! A couple of FMs ago you could actually get more reports per day, i believe it was up to 5. This would be so insanely overpowered if that were still the case, so i guess it's probably a good thing they nerfed that lol
It sucks that it's been diluted to an extend to act as a gateway for console players, i hope they bring more of the detailed stuff to consoles in the coming years!
I just go to big nation or obscure nation go to the bottom league like legit semi pro/amateur and just check etch team If they got regen and il tell i find so many new prone pogbas and rooneys legit amazing and No effort aswell😂
Of course it would, it's a single player game, play it however you like :) But to me, that's like saying, wouldn't it be easier to use the editor to make a player better, rather than developing him with game time and training :)
Saw it on xbox and was thinking why not .... dont its not good the gameplay is the same but they have striped so many features like this and it just makes the game harder to find and scout players like simple things like searching for some thing good luck you press enter and ..... nothing your somehow on the screen behind and youve just skiped a day
Thanks mate! I just queue up like 400 reports, and then once they're all exhausted, i fill it up again, that way there are always reports coming through, some years you may miss a team for whatever but then will catch it another year and find they've produced gold!

How do you get squad size in the team report priorities. I don't see any option to edit the view.

To be fair, you don't need world scouting for this to work, you just need to target clubs that are within your current scouting range :)

That's expected as you have no scouting range, basically meaning no scouting of any sort is allowed

We sign them all the time, it definitely is harder to sign them than it was but it's definitely possible :)

That is very odd, do you have a scouting range that the team is within? If not then it won't be possible
If a team doesn't have a U19s squad, and there is just a first team, is it worth getting a team report on the first team and ignoring all of the older players? Great video btw!
Definitely worth it, it takes the same amount of time and you never know, you might find a fully developed star sat in their first team who just never got a move!

That's really strange, it should be right where i showed it in the video. Just to check you are playing FM on PC and not console? As it might be different for console versions

Now that I've played with this a bit, just wanted to add that besides finding those wonderkids it is absolutely amazing at finding bargain players. Maybe not the quality for the absolute top clubs but you can find a ton of really good players with upside for well under 1 mil. and make great profit.
Kind of annoying it's limited to 1 report per day no matter how many scouts you have. Although it's OP as it is 😅
I'm glad it's working so well for you! A couple of FMs ago you could actually get more reports per day, i believe it was up to 5. This would be so insanely overpowered if that were still the case, so i guess it's probably a good thing they nerfed that lol
i wish that there was this much stuff on the xbox version
It sucks that it's been diluted to an extend to act as a gateway for console players, i hope they bring more of the detailed stuff to consoles in the coming years!
My way to find wonderkids: hire good staff from Brazil, Portugal etc and let them find them for you...

I just go to big nation or obscure nation go to the bottom league like legit semi pro/amateur and just check etch team If they got regen and il tell i find so many new prone pogbas and rooneys legit amazing and No effort aswell😂
Wouldn't it be easier to just use attribute unmasking, and you have extensive knowledge faster, easier and without all this hassle?
Of course it would, it's a single player game, play it however you like :) But to me, that's like saying, wouldn't it be easier to use the editor to make a player better, rather than developing him with game time and training :)

Saw it on xbox and was thinking why not .... dont its not good the gameplay is the same but they have striped so many features like this and it just makes the game harder to find and scout players like simple things like searching for some thing good luck you press enter and ..... nothing your somehow on the screen behind and youve just skiped a day

That's why i removed work permits, it's straight up unfun.

Work permits are an absolute killer, part of the reason i've avoided UK teams for the last couple of FMs

Thanks mate! I just queue up like 400 reports, and then once they're all exhausted, i fill it up again, that way there are always reports coming through, some years you may miss a team for whatever but then will catch it another year and find they've produced gold!
i got no idea what you're doing and I've played FM since it began because i have no idea about you're skin, i just use the basic skin.
this sounds like way more work than the previous version.. if scouting is this hard then it should be fixed in game
It's harder than using the default features of the game, but i use it as i was unhappy with how ineffective those method mostly were :(
