While rewatching the sercies, i notice that inside shiramori's heart has a smaller red heart. maybe the smaller red center is mystery's blood and what is keeping her alive. she could be hunting him to refill her life force.
We also call the hand demon Lefty! Also, here's a little tidbit I've discovered. Ever since Freaking Out, when Lewis stepped on Arthur's soul flower, Lewis has always had a small, sad looking Deadbeat around him, a sharp contrast to his mischievous and angry ones. What if this one Deadbeat represents his hesitation? Deep down, he doesn't want to hurt Arthur.
I also have a theory. There is a pattern in all characters. Lewis being a ghost, Mystery is a Kitsune and Vivi recently awakened her ice abilities. All the characters have their abilities in a way or another, all except Arthur. Maybe in the next song, it will be more focused on Arthur who is about to face the spirit who possessed him and is now possessing Mystery. I have an idea that his arm has a form of power since its reaction when Mystery got possessed.
I got an idea, and it has to do with his name being Arthur and his uncle being Lance, like the knights King Arthur and Sir Lancelot. Plus Arthur seems to be getting a kind of electricity power that he can't control yet, considering the electricity making his arm go haywire and drag him to his friends is yellow.
The whole King Arthur stuff definitely has more prominence but I don’t think what I’m saying is coming out of left field, especially with that evil severed arm.
My own theory about Mystery and Shiromori's backstory--we see Mystery feeding a flower his blood, so I agree with the idea that he created her (or corrupted her?). Then we see Mushi coming to confront him as he rests in trees that are the same color as Shiromori; at the foot of the trees is a discarded sword and helmet. I take this to mean that Mystery created Shiromori's forest to act as a lair where he would be protected from those who would attack him, while the bodies would be "fed" to Shiromori. There's a legend that if a cherry tree has a human body buried in its roots, its blossoms would be even more beautiful as the blood stains the flowers into a more pink color--in this case, I think the bodies were probably just making her stronger. She's both lair and unwitting partner in crime for Mystery (or maybe willingly? I'm not sure how sentient she is at this point). In the next shot, we see Mushi and Mystery fighting--and Mystery's obviously not doing so great as he's gotten pretty banged up... and bleeding. So! I think he bled on at least a few of the trees during the fight and that awoke Shiromori's hunger for his blood specifically. Probably she felt it making her more powerful and she began to lust after that power. Why do I think this? Because Shiromori gets an obvious flashback when she looks at Vivi, where she sees Mushi *defending* Mystery pretty obviously from Shiromori as it really looks like a POV shot for Shiromori. Why would Mushi defend Mystery? A few ideas--a) despite her misgivings about him, she didn't want him to be devoured or bled dry right in front of her because? Justice? Pity? Not a big fan of ironic downfalls? Or maybe just honest compassion. Or b) she might have thought that Shiromori was the true villain and that Mystery was more of a stooge, making him more worthy of being spared. Either way, Mushi saved Mystery, thus the separation from him and Shiromori. This is probably why Mystery is still hanging around with Mushi's descendants--he felt indebted to her for saving him, so he repaid the favor by helping her and then her family. Maybe he took a special interest in Vivi--for her interest in the occult or because he just likes her as a person. So this is why he feels so badly about watching either get hurt--he feels responsible for them. Also, completely random theory that has nothing to do with the above--the Deadbeats are all metaphors or symbols of Lewis's emotions, and represent what he truly feels. This is actually pretty common trope--a more stoic or mysterious character will have a companion or pet that reveals their inner thoughts or feelings more visibly, ala ChuChu in Revoltionary Girl Utena for Anthy. In all the shots for Hellbent, there seems to be at least one Deadbeat who looks sad and depressed the entire time, even when the others grin, show awe, or put on scary faces--this one represents Lewis's hurt feelings and even his reluctance to actually hurt Arthur, since when it shows up in the fake cave, it doesn't try to scare him, just keeps looking sad.
I believe that is to showcase her forgetting Lewis. In "Ghost" if you watch when Lewis is pushed Vivi is at the bottom of the cavern and actually sees him fall to his death. Immediately this is followed by a visual of Lewis' pink ghost "power" clouding her eyes over turning them pink. It looks to me like Lewis erased her memory of him in that moment to shield her from that traumatic experience. In the part you're talking about in "Freaking Out" when Vivi's eyes glow purple, Lewis fades out of the picture into a pink silhouette at the same time.
Small theory but it is possible Lewis and his deadbeats were trying to shield their ears because they could hear ???'s hideous laugh. In western culture it is thought the living can't hear ghosts and EMT's are normally required to capture their voice however other ghosts should be able to hence Vivi and Arthur were unaffected by it while Lewis wasn't.
I cant think of a laugh powerful enough or cause pain enough to make someone cover their ears, i assume it has to be a high pitch or horrible noise, not a laugh
It might be the possession and sudden power outburst that created a shockwave which the ghosts could hear. In Ghosts, Lewis told Arthur “Fuck, it’s you I hate the most.” To which Arthur reacted. So unless there’s some vague rule where Lewis is an exception, the living can hear ghosts.
Anybody else see that Shiromori has a grey heart surrounding red bits, like Lewis’ broken heart, and that the reason why she wants Mystery’s blood was because she wasn’t complete?
I have a theory about the flower scene with the paw. Shiramori wouldn't be some sort pf daughter, but I think that the fact that she wants more blood from mystery is because it could make her more powerful. Because, on the flower scene with the blood in the Shiramori's flower,it was from there that she was born Idk exactly about the heart but I could say that she just fight Mystery for more power but maybe she can "protect" mystery. The she would need more of this Mystery's blood to full the heart completely. I also think that she tries to kill Vivi's antecessor and Vivi itself cause both of they would be a problem for Shiramori gets the Mytery blood (Sorry for any errors :^)
Did anyone ever notice that in the first Mystery Skulls animated video, “Ghost”, Vivi was at the bottom of the cliff that Lewis was pushed off of in the flashback scene? She most likely witnessed Lewis die, so I wonder if that means anything
I think her glasses tinted purple represent Lewis repressing her "seeing"/remembering the truth. She has a faint recollection of him during Ghost right before Arthur stops her from accepting Lewis's heart.
Vivi saw Lewis die, that is almost confirmed at this point. The thing is that Mystery/lewis/the hand or something else made everyone forget about the event. Here is why I think that... In "Freaking out" episode around 2:32 we can see a map that hints towards the reason Arthur and Vivi are travelling around is to find lewis. Also, the song at that exact moment sings " *how did this shit come about* " witch also reinforces this theory. However, that would be strange considering Vivi should have seen his death and Arthus would have known he was possessed because he lost an arm from it. They should know where he died, let alone the fact that he is dead, but the map shows his living body´s face, hinting towards they don´t know he is dead. My ( and probably a lot of other people ) theory behind that is that Lewis transformation did it. The reason behind I think that, is that in Ghosts at 3:10 we see Lewis locket transform into the ghost possessed version we know is his "heart" When the transformation happens there is a *purple* line coming out of the heart that enters his Vivi´s eyes, followed by Mystery ripping of Arthur´s arm. And again, the song supports this by singing " *This time I might just disappear* " The purple glow in Vivi´s eyes also shows up when she is sleeping at 2:40 when the song sings " *but I'm afraid of losing you* ", which again supports the theory that Vivi somehow forgot about Lewis death. Arthur may or may not have been affected by this too, or he was just too traumatised by the possession and the loss of his arm that he forgot. His surprise when he finds out that the ghost who was hunting them down all this time was Lewis all along also supports this. ( It isn't anger or even fear that´s on his face when he gets thrown off the "cliff" inside the stolen truck at the end of Hellbent, its shock/ surprise )
Did the "Hand" in Freaking out was talked about how it react at shiro when it saw her ? As I saw the hand reacted surprised/scared ? Idk if that have any connection, any ideas ?
My theory is that Shiramori was originally some sort of extra protection for Mystery. Possibly from ghosts and spirits like the green hand or just in general ( we see him living in the forest where he has killed multiple attackers in the flashbacks ) There should be a reason why he doesn't have all his tails in the present time... Shiramori was also a very strong spirit considering she was able to hurt Mystery and the hand might fear her because she could possibly be dangerous to it. If the green hand´s power of possession is limited to weak-minded creatures it makes even more sense as she is anything but weak-minded. She might also have been an unexpected element in the hand's plan, for better or worse...
I need to actually write down a few of my theories because it's occurred to me that not many people have noticed them! Firstly, I think there might be something important to do with the way the hand grabbed Mystery's heart. If you look at the scene again and pause it after it grabs, you can see that it _specificially_ blocked off all of the colors that we can tie to major characters _except_ for either of the colors we could link to Lewis (I'm leaning towards pink on that theory) Blue, orange, and white, which we can all link to characters we've seen so far, are all blocked off. I'm thinking this might mean that Lewis, as you briefly mentioned in the video (although for different reasons,) may be the key to defeating Murder Mystery somehow. That might be a crack theory, but I would be so amazed if it ended up being important somehow. Second, something that I feel other people could have picked up on, I think Shiromori and Mystery were actually partners in crime. We see in the flashbacks that Mystery gives Shiromori life, and he is also seen perching in the shiromori trees. (Shiromori translates directly to "White Forest" in Japanese) Furthermore, Kitsune are typically trickster spirits or generally malicious. I think that Mystery originally grew the forest to protect himself while he carried out his Kitsune shenanigans. This is also why I believe that Mushi is seen fighting Mystery- He was likely being some kind of menace as seen by the scattered, discarded weaponry and armor. I think that during his fight with Mushi, he ended up losing enough blood to give Shiromori more full sentience and her humanoid form, but instead of taking his side, she begins to obsess over his blood more than anything else. This is what I think brings Mystery to ally with Mushi- a combined effort to take down a sanctuary-turned-enemy. This is just what I've put together so far and I would be super interested to hear everyone's thoughts!
I kind of figured that there were 2 colors for each character, but that's one of those things that if it turns out to be different I won't be bothered.
I feel like the one dead beat in ghost, the one when Arthur is about to face Lewis. It looks upset. I think they represent the emotions Lewis is feeling they aren’t actual ghost but manifestations of the emotions he’s feeling if you notice two of them stand out the one that looks upset and one that’s happy. The one that’s upset means he doesn’t want to hurt his friend and the other that’s smiling is probably to represent that he’s aware of vivis presence the rest look evil because that’s the most prominent emotions he’s feeling anger and an urge to harm someone. They were just calm up until facing Lewis. I also like to think the music is in Lewis’s mind like he was a fan of the artist or something
There is a bat in the flashback in Ghost that has green eyes... In the shot where the group are splitting down two separate paths. I assumed that was the entity that possessed Arthur
If some of the theories are true, ans it's possible that "envy" still has control over Arthur (because it used to be part of him when he got possesed) does that means that Arthur could be a possible key to stop murder mystery? It would be interesting to watch a whole full 360 and see Arthur having some participation on saving Mystery. That could end his development on stop having a fear to his friend and save him just like Mystery did for him, it would be nice ngl
What if Arthur WASNT jealous of Vivi and Lewis, think about it! in Ghost, Mystery saw the event replay through one of LEWIS'S mirrors, and in Hellbent it was HIS memories that were shown, WHAT IF, Lewis, in his confusion, grief, and pain, made up a lie in his head to explain why would Arthur do such a thing and justify his actions afterward And so, when the REAL picture came up, he realized that he was LYING to himself and that the Arthur he knew would NEVER do that
So I've been thinking, maybe the tears in the heart are related to emotions, like the emotional spectrum from DC, the black and white being life and death or something like that, I honestly don't know but it would explain a bit why there are so many tears and how come they are the colors of the rainbow and stuff
A note in regards to the bandage over Mystery’s heart that represents Shiromori, I believe that it represents Mystery healing from his relationship with Shiromori. It could be that Mystery used Shiromori back before meeting Mushi as his own personal murder forest. It would make sense that Mystery would create Shiromori just for her to be his weapon since back then, he was evil. He also was possibly the reason why Shiromori wants his blood, it could be all he was feeding her, possibly as a reward for a job well done. After fighting Mushi, Mystery realised how badly he was treating Shiromori and left, abandoning her because he thought it was the best thing for Shiromori. Shiromori however, didn’t understand. She didn’t understand why her creator left her, she didn’t understand what she did wrong when she didn’t do anything. Shiromori was from a long time ago, she wouldn’t have understood that what Mystery did to her was wrong because she saw it as right. But she only knew one thing, Mushi took Mystery away. That’s why she attacked Vivi when she realised that she was Mushi’s ancestor. It’s also why Mystery got scared in Freaking Out when he realised that Shiromori found his trail. While he has healed from the guilt of what he did to Shiromori and probably the realisation that abandoning her wasn’t a good idea, he wasn’t ready to confront her and explain himself, explain to his daughter who would follow him to the ends of the earth that what he did to her was bad. All in all, Future was Mystery’s song about his past catching up to him and reopening some old wounds. He’s worried about the future where he has no choice but to confront his past and all the wrongs he did in the form of Shiromori. He is scared to mess with the past, to talk things out with Shiromori because she might not even understand. But in the end, him not confronting it, and repeating the same mistake he did in the past by leaving Shiromori again without any answers cost him possibly the most traumatic experience a father could have witnessed. Watching your own daughter wilt away before your eyes, unable to do anything to stop it.
Thanks for the video! Rewatching the scenes, of the 8 colored streams out of Mystery's heart, we only see 2 'erupting'. These are Shiromori's and Vivi/Mushi. We don't know how long the other six have been burst. I would expect that the others erupted when their event happened. When Lewis died, when Arthur's possessed arm was torn off, how Arthur was scared of Mystery after that and more. With these two popped, I'm going to guess that is actually Lewis and Arthur reforging their friendship that stops this.
Maybe they covered their ears because of a frequency, which only spirits can hear and it hurts them (either because it's too loud/high/low not sure but probs loud)
I have a thought of Shiromori and that is the small red heart within her heart shape vessel. I think the small red heart is the amount of blood that Mystery gave to her from long ago. So basically she needs Mystery blood to fill the vessel to continue living. It would make the most sense. Another possibility is that it would give more power to her which might be why Mystery denies her, because she would just use him. Well that is my thoughts.
What I think is interesting about the heart is that they all correlate with the characters corresponding hair color, but arthur has two hair colors the orange and black
For the patch with Shiro, my guess is the first rupture was probably when Shiro tried to kill Mystery in the past, but Mushi stopped her and saved him. The betrayal broke his heart that someone close to him tried to kill him. But it must've patched up as a symbol that he got over that heartbreak. Only for it to rupture again not to see her sorta die before her eyes, but by the fact she also backstabbed him again after sparing her and got Vivi hurt.
I think the reason why Mushi was there in the forest of Shiromori and Mystery was that she was sent to stop the two from killing other humans or warriors who pass by. Considering that we also see some samurai armor and a sword stuck in Shiromori's tree roots, we could assume that others were sent to stop their killing spree or harassment near a village or something else they consider taboo for spirits. Maybe it was due to the Shiromori Forest continuously growing that it may have been swallowing small civilizations. I'm really just spouting theories here, but that's the impression I'm getting from that picture.
Taking into account the many good theories I've read in this post, I've noticed: Shiromori and Mystery are a good subverted representation of pinocchio and his owner Geppetto. Shock and stress from physical and now the emotional loss of a life he nurtured, not created (from the flashbacks we can see the flower is grown, not in any gestation period like sprouting or as a seed) has been lost. Mystery shows us the viewers that nurturing comes in many forms and protecting what means the most from strategy and harm will earn you some experiential scars. Another addition to his heart, as all the auras; are I think experiences and connections made albeit closely or loosely with the MC of mystery skulls.
sorta late to the bat but i think the affecting of arthurs arm arm and lewis ad his ghosts may be more of the sheer power coming from Mystery. not big on japanesestuff (hope i got that right) but if i remember correctly kitsune are especially powerful, so one being posessed, and especially by a entity that feeds on emotional distress, i think its that that causes the reactions we see.
Hmm ... so, Lewis displayed his face after Arthur touched him with his mechanical hand, and then immediately reverted to his ghostly skeleton self. It may have disrupted Lewis's power, in the same way it removed Lewis's power on the gang's van in hellbent by taking the energy into itself. If Arthur's hand behaves as a kind of "sink" for magical energy, it would explain why it reacted to Murder Mystery's transformation. If all mechanical devices can function as a kind of sink in this way, then this explains how Lewis was able to transform the Semi. I tend to think of it like Ghost Rider's ability to take over machines. Going further, Vivi is able to channel her ice powers into her bat, as Mushi did with her sword before her, presumably. That is to say, the ability to channel magical energies into inanimate objects - especially complicated ones - as if they were batteries may be a defining feature of the magic system of the Mystery Skulls world.
3:56 I think the reason is because lewis was killed by “envy” so when it controlled mystery then he felt some kind of presence like how arthurs arm decided to go even more crazy
Anyone ever think maybe Lewis could be vulnerable where his heart would be because that could be where he fell on the stalactite? Maybe a cause of death could also be a cause of vulnerability in the ghost form. Think about it. In Ghost, after Lewis falls we see pieces of what we can assume are his shirt flying and his heart coming up
I just noticed something by rewatching for the thousand time(?). When Shiromori hurts Vivi badly and she pukes blood, Mistery's heart, besides flooding blue (who we all agree is related to Vivi), also floods green and his eyes and mouth turn green too for a brief moment. I think the green 'demon' hand is related to him in a way, not exactly being him but perhaps something as old as Mistery and that's why he sensed it in the cave when it possesed Arthur. Also could be a part of him that detached in the past, maybe related to him being good now and protecting Vivi. We all saw in the flashbacks the mischievous looks he had and how that's not a part of him (that we know of), anymore.
On the subject of the green ghost, I have a small sort of theory that Shiromori captured it off camera in Freaking Out, and trapped it in her scissors. Or alternatively, she was actually possessed during this time, with the spirit manifesting in her scissors, and then it got separated from her when Vivi grand slammed her heart away. After all, it likely wanted revenge on Mystery as well.
I think the bandage over shiromori's stream isnt about Mystery making peace with her specifically, but making peace with the fact he had to leave her, that it wasn't healthy to dwell on her so to speak
I have a theory that Louis as a ghost didn't fully remember Arthur or Mystery, only that Arthur killing him. And when Arthur said his name it clicked. Also with the theory that Arthurs mech arm dispels paranormal stuff, perhaps him touching it allowed Louis to fully remember that they were friends etc.
One thing I always noticed was that one of lewis’ deadbeats is always sad about what he’s doing. There are sides to him and some are happy to get revenge while the other is sad about it, feeling that it isn’t right.
Here's my best guess as to heart-stream colors. Red - Mystery - !!! Orange - Lance - ! Yellow - Arthur - ! Green - Chloe (Vivi's co-worker at Tome Tomb) - ? Blue - Vivi - !!! Violet - The Peppers - ??? Magenta - Lewis - ! White - Shiromori - !!! Black - Duet (Vivi's boss/Owner of Tome Tomb) - ??? My certainty is rated like so: "!!!" = Very Certain; "!" = Certain; "?" = Uncertain; "???" = Very Uncertain
My take of the heart was that they were people that somehow hurt him, but not necessarily only his friends. (*wounds on his heart* so to say... ) This opens up some extra characters that aren't necessarily on good terms with him. My list of "wounds" was close to yours but had a few differences because of this... (also I'm colourblind so I might mix up some colours ) Some of them like Red, Blue, *Orange* and purple are almost certainly Mystery, Vivi, Arthur and Lewis. ( i say orange and not yellow because I believe the colours represents the character's hair... more on this later) But my theory for the other colours was: Violet/purple - The Peppers... same as you ( Paprika or Mr Peppers particularly, as not everyone in the family, has violet/ purple hair. ) He probably feels guilty over what happened to Lewis, they are his adoptive parents after all) Yellow = Chloe ( *her hair* is yellow despite being dressed in all green, and the other colours have followed the hair colours of the other characters ) It could however also be Mrs. Yukino ( Vivi´s mom ) she has a yellow sweater and has a hair colour that I think is yellow/orange ( again colourblind here ) I'm more inclined to say its Mrs. Yukino for the same reason I think Violet is the peppers, but I went with Chloe anyway She is more likely to actually show up then Vivi´s mom if anyone from Vivi´s family shows up its probably Vivi´s grandma and not her mom. And she is a much cooler character imo. Green = the hand ( it started all of this mess after all ) I don´t feel like I need to explain this one more than this... Black = his own dark past / evil self ( *his fur* / *hair* turns black when transforming, not green even if everything strongly hints towards the hand doing it ) In the past, all hints towards his true nature have also been black so far, black(and grey) is a pretty common colour for regret just like green is for envy. ( in hindsight I have realised that Shiramori´s red flower in Hellbent is an exception to this, but considering the circumstances, it's not theory breaking ) I mention grey because despite haveing *red hair* while in disguise, most of his fur in his true form is actually *white and black* Black and green are the weakest links to this hair colour theory, but we really don´t know of any green character other than Chloe. And as far as I know, there is no character with a lot of black other then Murder mystery. Duet has more of both purple and pink the black so I don´t think it's her, not to mention why would that cause Mystery heartache? At least Chloe has a teeny tiny reason that she actually wants to join the Mystery Skulls group, but was rejected by Vivi...Duet has none of that.
Those are some cool takes on the heart theory! I like the idea of how it includes characters based on the pain others have inflicted on Mystery. I'm also curious to hear your reasoning on why hair color is the specific source of a character's theme. Also, I dunno if this fits entirely within your theory version, but I figured I'd mention another character in case you find it helpful. One additional option for the color black (although this is a stretch to consider) could be the samurai that died in Shiromori Forest (the flashback in Hellbent if I remember that correctly). His helmet was at the base of the tree that Mystery was on. Again, not sure if it fits super well, but I hope it helps! As for my own theory's reasoning, I'd like to expand on it to help explain my choices. My personal guess is that the cracks in Mystery's heart are caused by seeing the suffering of people he cares about. It's sort of an "it breaks my heart to see you in pain" kind of deal. And as you've pointed out, this assumption comes at the cost of not being able to include outright enemies (and of course, Shiromori doesn't count as a full enemy because they were once friends of a sort). With regards to color schemes, I just kinda go with what I feel the focus is on. For example, Mystery has mostly black/white, which makes the red stand out more. The blue/pink/black on Shiromori really makes the white feel brighter. I'd say Arthur has a more yellow vibe as both Lance and Galahad (his hamster) tend to use darker, more orange-like hues on their palettes. Duet is an odd case, as there seem to be five major colors to their theme. The pink, blue, and yellow hues are the same as found on the pansexual pride flag, which means they're a set of accents. We can rule out white as it's used to accentuate the contrast with the main color, black. Now, when I say black I'm including the color of the shawl (at least I think it's a shawl...) and their hair. Yes, I'm aware they're not the same shade/hue as the black on the dress/skirt/outfit. However, I'm still gonna include them as I consider them to be faded variations of the base color (much like how a black shirt can fade and turn a kinda blue/purple over time). Additionally, I think ???'s color is closer to the lime color that show's up in the iris of possessed Arthur's eye, the color Mystery's heart turns to, and the flames/fur on Murder Mystery's back. I see ??? to be a sort of invasive entity that worms its way into the hearts of others, not really having one of its own. And if that is the case, then the green stream from Mystery's heart must belong to someone else (Chloe). To me, Murder Mystery still counts as Mystery, but he's being possessed and empowered by ???'s abilities. So, as long as Murder Mystery isn't a separate entity, he's already got a color to represent him. As for what events caused Mystery's heart to break for Chloe and Duet? The most obvious one is Chloe being refused a position on the team. Maybe Mystery felt bad that they were kinda crushing her dreams but also knew it was for a good reason, which just hurts all the more. As for Duet's event, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it happened while being investigated by Vivi. We know the investigation didn't go anywhere, but why is that? My guess is that Mystery interfered on Duet's behalf. Given that Mystery is a mythical creature himself, he might've been able to see through whatever secret Duet has been hiding (maybe they're a mythical bird). Seeing someone in the same boat is bittersweet. It's nice to know you're not alone, but it also hurts to see others going through the same pain. So, Mystery feels for Duet's situation, breaking his heart a little more. I'm excited to see what aspects of our theories hold up by the time the next video comes out. In the meantime, I'm glad we can have fun sharing ideas with one another!!
@@PeacefulHusky well we never really saw those samurai people alive, so I don´t think it is an option... but you never know... they could be... Also, my reasoning for sticking with the hair colours for the signature colour is actually mostly based on what colour represents the other mystery skulls members. But I can more or less confirm that Arthur should be orange and not yellow from the fall into the trapdoor way back in ghosts. (and his hair and pants are orange and not) When Vivi/Arthur/Mystery is falling down the trapdoor back in "Ghost" they are all a single colour, Vivi being light blue, Arthur orange and Mystery red. ( around 1:19 ) *Basically, my reasoning is based on what does the colour we "know" represents the main characters have in common with the other characters colours* . Small side note here, while falling past the mirrors, the mirrors puts emphasis on Vivi having "black eyes" and Arthur not having both arms while mystery just breaks his mirror. If you want to go full tinfoil hat mode, you could also use this as an argument for Vivi having lost her memories as its basically telling us that "she can´t see/her eyes are clouded" Let's start with Lewis and Mystery for example... Both of them have other colours on their bodies that cover more of them, aka another colour that covers more of their character design. Lewis for example only has a pink tie and pink eyes and is mostly black and white, but his ghost aura and hair is pink. Mystery on the other hand is mainly black and white, while only a very small part of his fur on his head is red. ( and the collar ofc ) Vivi also has other shades of blue that are much darker( and at least to me sticks out more ), but its the lighter colour of hair and her sweater that is her signature colour. When we then also add in Shiramori to the mix the one unifying trait I find with all of them is that the significant colour is always the same as the hair. Your theory of them being the most... for lack of a better word *expressive/eye-catching* colour that the other colours of the characters design are also a good argument. But it's possible they were designed to put emphasis on their signature colour and then we are at a "what came first, the chicken or the egg" situation... both could be true at the same time and at the end of the day it's just a theory backed up by cherry-picked facts. ( Also mine could easily be an example of "Confirmation bias" ) For example, Mystery ruins my theory a little by having slightly more black than red in his true form ( but not in his disguised form ) but its something I was ok overlooking. I agree that Murder Mystery being a different person is a bit of a stretch, but it's not much more than saying Duet is a mythological monster (and yeah she is indeed a bit odd ) And even if you were right I don´t think something small like a white lie about Duet´s true nature or not allowing Chole on the team would cause such damage to him. For me, it was more about the idea that he regrets his dark past, and not that "he was another person back then" or something along those lines. Really though, both of us are having a problem with black because there isn't really much that fits perfectly. The green colour that I attributed to ??? being too dark compared to the lighter colour of his hand at the end is something I considered. But ??? has had different shades of green depending on what state it is in, and the darker colour matches his eyes while the lighter colour at the end matches Arthur´s skin when possessed... considering it doesn´t have hair when it's just an arm, eye colour is a good second. Now we only have to wait two years to find out if our theory holds any water. Let's hope one of us is correct in our theory :D
My theory about the colors is this: Mystery's battered and torn heart seems to have a color trail bleeding from it representing him losing people he cares for. Specifically we see the blue trail and white trails rupture from their bandages when Vivi is slashed and when Shiromori dies. The only colors we would have concrete evidence for are those two. The purple one could be Lewis since he's dead too. Arthur could be represented by the yellow trail since Mystery had to bite his arm off to save him. But that's just it. He's still alive. So I think that the yellow trail and the other colors may just be people from Mystery's past. Kitsune are known to live for thousands of years. I also theorize that the arm (or rather the entity controlling it) is also someone from Mystery's past. Given that there is a green trail it's likely someone Mystery thought long dead since there's no bandage over it. The bandages I believe represent him healing himself somewhat. In Hellbent we are given flashes showing his relationship with Shiromori as well as a hint to his relationship with Mushi. Shiromori seems to have started as a single flower in a dying forest. Mystery gave it some of his blood and the next flash we see the forest has regrown (with Shiromori's colors of blue trees with white leaves and pink flowers) and seems to be protecting him seeing as he's sitting in one of the trees and Mushi is restrained by roots. There is also an old Samurai Helmet on the floor. Indicating that people have died in this forest. Whether they were killed by Mystery or Shiromori is unknown. Mushi is then seen fighting Mystery and the kitsune seems to be losing. When we see Mushi in this vid she appears to Vivi in a blizzard with a dead forest as the background. What if her fight with Mystery killed the forest he lived in due to her ice powers? This would cause a rupture in his heart with a white trail for Shiromori. My theory on this is that once Mushi triumphed in that fight she gained Mystery as a guardian/ally. When she died he felt grief, but continued to protect her family and is now with Vivi who might be not just Mushi's descendant, but her reincarnation. That connection heals the scar in his heart left by Mushi's death. As for Shiromori, in Freaking Out Mystery knew that Shiromori was looking for him. Which means that he knew that she was alive. I believe that Mushi didn't fully destroy the forest, and maybe showed Mystery a patch of the forest that still lived. Healing his heart because he then would know that Shiromori wasn't dead. However she would come to track him down to get more of his blood once her supply began to run low. Which is why she looked so confused in Hellbent seeing Mystery with who she perceived to be Mushi at first. A person she would be afraid of with good reason.
A seal would be there to lock away something. I think that the bat IS the katana, just now in a new for for Vivi and may eventually become a blade once the seal is taken off, possibly through Vivi realizing her latent abilities to their fullest? I think it's the green plume, not the white, that represents Shiro. The white and black plumes may both be Murder/Mystery himself (he is predominantly black and white), or them along with the yellow could be tied to the 'other story ideas' that have been planned but may never be drawn in the future of this series.
Two things: I wonder if yhe samurai armor at the base of Shiromori's tree has anything to do with Mushi? I thought someone speculated that he might have been a relative or sensei, but that's never been confirmed. Even though the wiki describes Shiromori as a "bonsai tree monster", her heart looks like a piece of fruit (like an apple or peach kind of, with a stem and leaf). I'm not sure if that means anything, but I thought it was interesting.
Maybe Lewis reacted that way due to the laugh of "envy" or something? Like it happened just when Arthurs arm reacted and the only link is "envy". Reacting in instinctual fear of the entity that killed him/ lived where he was reborn.
i cool detail Ive noticed is that in all of the series the beatghosts that follow is only 3, maybe representing arther vivi and mystery, also only one ghost is sad or worried all the time, as seen in freaking out and the end of hellbent. also in freaking out arthur presses his laptop making mystery look at him, you see lewis fade to purple, maybe he's deleting him? not sure, also in ghost the painting that that sends the gang down that trippy wonderland hole smiles, but all the others don't. another little detail is when the truck driver get out and sees lewis transform it there's a chicken under their cap, and the truck plant lady get yeeted into there's a chicken on it. aaaannnddd when lewis throws arther into the truck in hellbent when arther screams the face lewis makes is so funny, hdjdidn I just...I watch this on a daily basis don't judge i think Ive said enough here
About the head holding of Lewis and Deadbeats. Incorrect. They didn't cover their ears when Mystery transformed, they seemed to get sharp headache when Vivi was slammed into the van.
About the seal theory, it may explain why Mystery only has 6 tails in the flashback in Ghost, and 7 tails at the start of Future, despite having 9 in Shiomoris flashback. But there's only two seals, but 3 missing tails that he regained from Ghost to the end of Future.
Late to the party here, I know. But I think that the patches on Vivi and Shio are merely the good old "time mends all wounds". They are both old wounds, cause by the fight they had previously. It probably mended with time. they look more like bandages to me (the lack of writing on them and the clear "edge" of a bandage that most seal won't have, not in this color. Plus they are flesh colored, like the majority of bandages.)
I like the idea of ???? possessing those with intense negative emotions Though another interesting thing are ruptures in Mystery’s heart and what they supposedly represent. It seems like Mystery has been bottling up all of this and it comes to a head in battle in The Future Naturally part of this is him not wanting to reveal his past but the stuff with Arthur, Lewis and potentially ???? is different. Also Lance was beaten unconscious by Lewis, and being related to Arthur might mean mystery also cares for him. I’m hoping he does play a larger role in the next episode. Lastly, I’m curious just how damaged Mystery’s heart can get before breaking completely. It’s pretty banged up as it is now and unless something is done, other than using bandages/seals, it’ll continue to fracture until either death or complete loss of control
What if the only way to revert mystery back is through music, but it has to be something they sing in the next video. Spell chant/charm to calm the savage beast AKA Murder Mystery.
I have a theory about why I think shiromori has an addiction to the blood of mystery. During the fight back in the past with vivis grandmother when she was fighting mystery in his Kitsune form. There was cuts and blood coming out of mystery since that happend that might have led to shiromoris creation and her being addicted to the blood. Since she was technically the forest where mystery used to live or hide in. But thats my theory or speculation
I had gotten back into mystery skulls but I seriously question the ghosts origin (the green hand)but maybe it has something to do is Lewis also how did envy (the green hand) end up in that cave the spirit not the hand
i still think that there's a possibility the "envy" ghost may have been able to possess mystery or affect him because there's the fact that he bit off Arthur's possessed arm. i say so mostly because the hand at the end looks to be a left hand (as we know it was Arthur's left arm that was removed) i'd almost suspect that maybe the ghost can have some kind of effect on blood? cause obviously mystery would have maybe accidentally swallowed some of the blood and that could be part of how envy literally took hold of his heart. idk, i could just be reading a bit too much into it and it could just be it takes over a body when they're at their lowest point.
Arthur might’ve been cursed instead of the spirit. It makes sense because if he was possessed his entire body would be taking over but only half Of his body was both taking over.
I think that vivi might not only be an a seat or of the great swordsmen but I think that she is the great swordsmen due to the fourth videos constant switching between the two, that or it is symbolysing that this has all happened before like a loop
I think that that heart is outside Mystery. (According to bubbles maybe?) Maybe its somehow protected, sealed in capsule or something. Why didnt anyone asked about how did Anvy got that heart? If he still possesses Arthurs arm, could he reach it so easy. If he has physical form he wont be able to go through Mysterys body I guess... Sounds pretty legit to me
Very late I know but I actually interpret the green ghost as "poison". How it works is that it takes reasonable emotions (Arthur's jealousy wasn't just jealousy; it was also because he felt set aside and ignored by his best friends; incidentally this theory works whether Arthur is in love with his best friends or not. As for Mystery, he's distraught that his protectorates have been so damaged despite his best efforts) and twists them into something toxic by offering "relief" that's a lie (Arthur was forced to "get Lewis out of the way" after being offered a way to fix his problem; Mystery is tempted with the "power" to prevent further harm...by killing his protectorates).
As someone learning Japanese, i know this might be obvious know, but, Shiromori's name literally translates to white tree or white forest (not sure which), so the white is probably representing her.
Pretty sure the bandages on his heart are both figurative and literal. Like i don't think he physically got his heart patched up but it definitely manifested visibly.
I think Lewis and the Deadbeats were the only ones covering their ears because, Vivi and Arthur are dealing with other problems. Arthur is too busy trying to control his arm and Vivi is in pain that out ways what pain her ears would be in.
Arthur's arm freaksout in the future video same way it does in the freaking out video so I believe Arthur's arm is tied to mysterys kitsune forms because each time Arthur's arm freaks out mystery is in a new form
I feel like the patches could be connected to Past Shiromori and Mushi.. Like.. Mystery made Shiro and it seems like she kinda got power hungry or the sort, so that rupture might be caused by that "Corruption", The second patch could have been caused by Mushi's death. Perhaps she and Mystery ended up teaming up in the past to get Shiro down for the best of all and managed to lock her away/get her into a state of stasis (which others would consider defeated while Mystery wouldn't have to see his "Daughter" die or be responsible for it". Therefore the patch on her spot. Mushi's/Vivie's spot was likely damaged by Mushi's death... either in battle or old age and then fixed when Vivie was born as a reincarnation of Mushi's spirit which then again ruptured when she was heavily wounded in Future.. of course Shiro's patch broke when Mystery basically saw her die in his eyes.
Mystery's tails count has fluctuated through out the videos, but in "The Future" you do see additional tails manifest from nothing. An eighth one rolled out when Vivi was gravely injuried and a nineth shortly before passing out from all the stress and damage.
I agree that the colors really don't make sense, but I do still think that Lance is Orange, Murder Mystery is Black, "Lefty" is Green, and the Deadbeats are Purple. They each represent those colors well, so maybe there is more to it besides just emotional weakness or physical pain of those characters. Oddly enough, until Shiromori was launched away, everyone was in there, almost like a summoning. Maybe striking someone down was apart of it, as some ghost rules are specific like that when you summon one, which could be another reason why Mystery didn't want either of the girls to strike each other down, could be apart of bringing Murder Mystery back.
so I noticed no one brought up that Lewis' presence is the root of their van troubles and the reason Lewis is revealed to Arthur. To start out, in the episode Ghost, the van "breaks down" outside the mansion where Lewis resides due to purple electricity, same color as Lewis' power. In HellBent episode the same power malfunctions the van again as they are being chased by Lewis, in which Arthur slams his robotic arm on the van, fixing the van, but he is unable to use it for the rest of the episode. As Lewis is about to throw Arthur off the cliff, he manages to grab Lewis' arm with his malfunctioning robot arm causing a kind of discharge, and that's when Lewis is revealed to Arthur.
I think the breaks in the heart are the connections to him like for shiro he had relized the mistake of bringing her to life but didnt have the heart to kill her so joined vivi causing the patch for the white and with the blue abousely vivi being patched when he was friends with vivi staying to protect her and i think lewis is one of the purples which i believe in one of the wpisodes it shows that mystery knows what arthur had done which causes the break in his heart and then the green arm of "envy" i think that it has a significant attachment to all of them and it was either someone close to mystery that he thought had died or something else, as for the orange i think its lance i know it has no tie to the story but if he knows arthur then he should know lance which would put a connection to him and yellow is arthur i think the break is caused by the fact he hasnt come out and said what he had done to lewis and has been lying to them both and keeping things secret even tho mystery knows (i think) about what arthur had done so we got white, yellow, orange, one of the purples (i thing the more pinkish one), and blue, and green, but we dont have the other purple n black but i think well see those up comming soon in the future episodes, but i think y he turned into murder mystery wasnt because sadness i think it was because of hate or anger as you had said with arthur, how the hand grabs at his heart like after the fight woth vivis ancestor n shiro he was angry at shiro for trying to take over somethong after realizing his mistake of bringing her tolife but also the anger towards vivi for trying to kill his "daughter" or so and arthur for killong lewis i think the hand take advantage of those and makes them do something they will regret, but i think that with shiro and how mystery drops his blood on the flower to bring her to life i think that it her lust for power that shes looking for and when he bites himself she like can smell or sence the power thats what she wants is his power seeming that she is just wood or a plant and that mystery give her some power makes her want more of it to bwcome more powerfuldue to how in the second episode she hold the giant flower in her hand and can track power threw petals, but anyway thats just my theory sorry if this is long ahha hope ya see it :)
Theory. The white leak in Mystery's heart isn't actually representing Shiromori, but himself. I'll elaborate. When Shiromori gets hurt in her fight with Vivi in the beginning, a cyan, AND a white leak appears in Mystery's heart. I believe that the white leak appears in Mystery's heart to show him being emotionally hurt. As the video says, Mystery sees Shiromori as a child of sorts, someone he created. And to see her die damages him emotionally.
I don’t buy what some people are saying, that Arthur is the yellow AND orange rupture, and Lewis is the pink AND purple rupture. If Vivi and Mushi, two completely different people, don’t each get their own rupture, then no way Arthur and Lewis get two each
I agree with ya, I think it's only one per person and the other colours are linked to other people. I made a pretty long reply to PeacefulHusky on that subject where I explain why I think like I do. go check it out, always happy for feedback :3
I want to point out my theory on the dead beats. I think they are split off peices of his mind. Most of them hate arthur except 1 who is always looking like he is regretting what is happing and is clearly visibly upset abought it happening. Its the small part of him that still wants him to be safe becuase he is his freind.
Mystery is obviously a Kitsune. On his character profile it even hints to him liking Yokai anime and Okami. Kitsune are nine tailed foxes that in a past life have sinned with greed and hide away from threats by blending in with humans. In a distant past it wouldnt be much of a stretch to say Mystery used Shiromori (White Forest) to hide, and Vivi's ancestor was an assassin or bounty hunter... sometime after the fight so much blood might have been shed that the forest grew and grew feeding on Mystery's blood, to the point where the forest was the problem and started hunting Mystery for his power(Like an addiction) Look at the way she lusts for his blood. The story is pretty straight forward from there, They both ran away after freezing the forest to control the growth. About the hearts, both Shiromori and Mystery's, I think the color is just a visual for the 9 tails, it's not a literal liquid. you can even see the colors match up with Murder Mystery's tails. Shiromoris heart looks like a fruit. thats... i got nothing else.
Has anyone else noticed that the inside of Murder Mystery's ears are different colours? Inside of his right ear is green whilst the left one is pink. This isn't a mistake either because firstly we see a close up of specifically his ears 'transforming', and if you look closely there is a difference. It's shown in all scenes of Murder Mystery that the insides of his ears are different. I have no idea what this is meant to mean, but could it be connected to something?
i think that lewis is somehow connected to vivi and fells some sort of feeling that warns him when vivi is extremly harmed . proof 1 when mystery becomes the super colurful dog (i don't know his name) nothing happens but when vivi is thrown against the van he coverse his ears proof 2 if he covered his ears because of super colurful dog he would look at him first but instead he looks at hurt vivi then super colurful dog proof 3 it's clear that the red flower of plant girl (i don't know her name) is connected to the person that it represent a.k.a mystery , and we see that lewis puts blue flowers in his locket so hed most likely be connected to vivi And that's my theory
Maybe yellow is Arthur and Orange is Lance. Cause Arthur's hair has yellow and orange but has more yellow hair, and Lance has orange and yellow hair but had more orange.( Probably the other way around ) But the sparks from the yellow essence are orange and the sparks from the orange one are yellow Dunno about black tho. But black is pretty sus :^)
Honestly, I’m confused about mystery’s Tails, I’m assuming that each tail is linked to each time his hearts takes Damage, and it seems that it takes someone close to mystery to get severely hurt or die to Damage the heart. So, at the beginning of The Future, Mystery has 7 Tails, I’m going to assume some of them are from Lewis(From being pushed off), Arthur(From Mystery biting his arm off), and maybe he retained tails from Shiromori and Mushi? And maybe Mystery has a connection to the arm thing? When Vivi gets injured, mystery sprouts another tail, and when shiromori is “Killed” in front of Mystery, he sprouts another, making all nine tails. So Vivi is the blue liquid, Shiro is the White liquid, Lewis is the pink or purple Liquid or maybe the two versions of Lewis caused a break each? Arthur is the yellow ombré liquid? maybe the arm caused a break because Mystery knew what the arm was? but I’m not sure about the other color liquids. These are just speculations...
You probably didn’t read my theory in the last vid, but Mystery should have been more than capable of destroying Shiromori when she was of no use, yet he didn’t, hence furthering my case.
While rewatching the sercies, i notice that inside shiramori's heart has a smaller red heart. maybe the smaller red center is mystery's blood and what is keeping her alive. she could be hunting him to refill her life force.
Cool theroy
Hmm, I would of thought that if Lewis's heart did not also have multiple layers. Its likely just a down to the truest self thing.
it also kind of looks like a heart shaped apple
We also call the hand demon Lefty!
Also, here's a little tidbit I've discovered. Ever since Freaking Out, when Lewis stepped on Arthur's soul flower, Lewis has always had a small, sad looking Deadbeat around him, a sharp contrast to his mischievous and angry ones. What if this one Deadbeat represents his hesitation? Deep down, he doesn't want to hurt Arthur.
*gets five nights at Freddy´s PTSD flashbacks*
jokes aside tho, yeah I agree with your theory.
There's already someone named Lefty.
@@darkdragoness5 POSSIBLE MECHA X KAIJU BATTLE INBOUND.
Considering that the dude's full name is "Arthur KINGsman" I'm legit expecting him to pull out freaking calibur at this point.
I think Arthur is gonna take after Ash from evil dead, especially with the use of his uncles shotgun and his own severed arm.
Her heart looks like a apple :)
How
On Purpose
shiromori has a heart that look like a apple
Hearple :)
I really reALLY REALLY like this comment
In Hellbent vivi's eyes glows purple when Arthur is on the computer when the screen moves left her eyes turn purple when they're closed
Wow thinks this is a big help
@@the711devin4 nah, pretty sure can pick and choose who can hear them
With what happened to mystery only ghost could hear whatever it was
Anybody else see that Shiromori has a grey heart surrounding red bits, like Lewis’ broken heart, and that the reason why she wants Mystery’s blood was because she wasn’t complete?
@Ace Trainer Mae-day if she needs a blood supply she wouldn’t have waited since her time in ancient Japan to get it
@Ace Trainer Mae-day what? He just normally said something, you are the one that needs to chill lol
@Ace Trainer Mae-day you grow up lol
I have a theory about the flower scene with the paw. Shiramori wouldn't be some sort pf daughter, but I think that the fact that she wants more blood from mystery is because it could make her more powerful.
Because, on the flower scene with the blood in the Shiramori's flower,it was from there that she was born
Idk exactly about the heart but I could say that she just fight Mystery for more power but maybe she can "protect" mystery. The she would need more of this Mystery's blood to full the heart completely.
I also think that she tries to kill Vivi's antecessor and Vivi itself cause both of they would be a problem for Shiramori gets the Mytery blood
(Sorry for any errors :^)
I think its really cool how shiro's heart looks like japanese lantern fruit!
The reason behind I think that, is that in Ghosts at 3:10 we see Lewis locket transform into the ghost possessed version we know is his "heart"
When the transformation happens there is a *purple* line coming out of the heart that enters his Vivi´s eyes, followed by Mystery ripping of Arthur´s arm.
And again, the song supports this by singing " *This time I might just disappear* "
The purple glow in Vivi´s eyes also shows up when she is sleeping at 2:40 when the song sings " *but I'm afraid of losing you* ", which again supports the theory that Vivi somehow forgot about Lewis death.
@@MegaHuntress That’s a real good theory
Did the "Hand" in Freaking out was talked about how it react at shiro when it saw her ? As I saw the hand reacted surprised/scared ? Idk if that have any connection, any ideas ?
My theory is that Shiramori was originally some sort of extra protection for Mystery.
Possibly from ghosts and spirits like the green hand or just in general ( we see him living in the forest where he has killed multiple attackers in the flashbacks )
There should be a reason why he doesn't have all his tails in the present time...

What if Arthur WASNT jealous of Vivi and Lewis, think about it! in Ghost, Mystery saw the event replay through one of LEWIS'S mirrors, and in Hellbent it was HIS memories that were shown, WHAT IF, Lewis, in his confusion, grief, and pain, made up a lie in his head to explain why would Arthur do such a thing and justify his actions afterward
And so, when the REAL picture came up, he realized that he was LYING to himself and that the Arthur he knew would NEVER do that
I think the patches represent that he just covered up his problems and pushed them down witch is why he sticks with the family instead of moving on
maybe mystery was infected by envy when he bit the infected arm?
8:15 "we see Vivi do the whole Super Sayan thing"
lmao
Taking into account the many good theories I've read in this post, I've noticed:
Shiromori and Mystery are a good subverted representation of pinocchio and his owner Geppetto.
I think mystery is a bleeding heart type person, the bandages were fixed/ok relationships. His "heart" is breaking as he sees Vivi and Shiromori hurt.
sorta late to the bat but i think the affecting of arthurs arm arm and lewis ad his ghosts may be more of the sheer power coming from Mystery. not big on japanesestuff (hope i got that right) but if i remember correctly kitsune are especially powerful, so one being posessed, and especially by a entity that feeds on emotional distress, i think its that that causes the reactions we see.
Hmm ... so, Lewis displayed his face after Arthur touched him with his mechanical hand, and then immediately reverted to his ghostly skeleton self.
In the post credit scene of 'The Future', in the background, you can hear a cry, and it could be from Murder Mystery.
(*wounds on his heart* so to say... )
This opens up some extra characters that aren't necessarily on good terms with him.
My list of "wounds" was close to yours but had a few differences because of this...
(also I'm colourblind so I might mix up some colours )
Some of them like Red, Blue, *Orange* and purple are almost certainly Mystery, Vivi, Arthur and Lewis.
( i say orange and not yellow because I believe the colours represents the character's hair... more on this later)
But my theory for the other colours was:
Violet/purple - The Peppers... same as you ( Paprika or Mr Peppers particularly, as not everyone in the family, has violet/ purple hair. )
He probably feels guilty over what happened to Lewis, they are his adoptive parents after all)
Yellow = Chloe ( *her hair* is yellow despite being dressed in all green, and the other colours have followed the hair colours of the other characters )
It could however also be Mrs. Yukino ( Vivi´s mom ) she has a yellow sweater and has a hair colour that I think is yellow/orange ( again colourblind here )
I'm more inclined to say its Mrs. Yukino for the same reason I think Violet is the peppers, but I went with Chloe anyway
She is more likely to actually show up then Vivi´s mom if anyone from Vivi´s family shows up its probably Vivi´s grandma and not her mom.
And she is a much cooler character imo.
Green = the hand ( it started all of this mess after all )
I don´t feel like I need to explain this one more than this...
Black = his own dark past / evil self ( *his fur* / *hair* turns black when transforming, not green even if everything strongly hints towards the hand doing it )
In the past, all hints towards his true nature have also been black so far, black(and grey) is a pretty common colour for regret just like green is for envy.
( in hindsight I have realised that Shiramori´s red flower in Hellbent is an exception to this, but considering the circumstances, it's not theory breaking )
I mention grey because despite haveing *red hair* while in disguise, most of his fur in his true form is actually *white and black*
Black and green are the weakest links to this hair colour theory, but we really don´t know of any green character other than Chloe.
@@PeacefulHusky
well we never really saw those samurai people alive, so I don´t think it is an option... but you never know... they could be...
Also, my reasoning for sticking with the hair colours for the signature colour is actually mostly based on what colour represents the other mystery skulls members.
But I can more or less confirm that Arthur should be orange and not yellow from the fall into the trapdoor way back in ghosts. (and his hair and pants are orange and not)
When Vivi/Arthur/Mystery is falling down the trapdoor back in "Ghost" they are all a single colour, Vivi being light blue, Arthur orange and Mystery red. ( around 1:19 )
*Basically, my reasoning is based on what does the colour we "know" represents the main characters have in common with the other characters colours* .
Small side note here, while falling past the mirrors, the mirrors puts emphasis on Vivi having "black eyes" and Arthur not having both arms while mystery just breaks his mirror.
If you want to go full tinfoil hat mode, you could also use this as an argument for Vivi having lost her memories as its basically telling us that "she can´t see/her eyes are clouded"
Let's start with Lewis and Mystery for example...
( and the collar ofc )
Vivi also has other shades of blue that are much darker( and at least to me sticks out more ), but its the lighter colour of hair and her sweater that is her signature colour.
( Also mine could easily be an example of "Confirmation bias" )
For example, Mystery ruins my theory a little by having slightly more black than red in his true form ( but not in his disguised form ) but its something I was ok overlooking.
I agree that Murder Mystery being a different person is a bit of a stretch, but it's not much more than saying Duet is a mythological monster (and yeah she is indeed a bit odd )
And even if you were right I don´t think something small like a white lie about Duet´s true nature or not allowing Chole on the team would cause such damage to him.

Two things:
I wonder if yhe samurai armor at the base of Shiromori's tree has anything to do with Mushi? I thought someone speculated that he might have been a relative or sensei, but that's never been confirmed.
Even though the wiki describes Shiromori as a "bonsai tree monster", her heart looks like a piece of fruit (like an apple or peach kind of, with a stem and leaf). I'm not sure if that means anything, but I thought it was interesting.
Maybe Lewis reacted that way due to the laugh of "envy" or something? Like it happened just when Arthurs arm reacted and the only link is "envy". Reacting in instinctual fear of the entity that killed him/ lived where he was reborn.
I just realized this scene 9:24 one purple dude is sad
Great video :D
i cool detail Ive noticed is that in all of the series the beatghosts that follow is only 3, maybe representing arther vivi and mystery, also only one ghost is sad or worried all the time, as seen in freaking out and the end of hellbent. also in freaking out arthur presses his laptop making mystery look at him, you see lewis fade to purple, maybe he's deleting him? not sure, also in ghost the painting that that sends the gang down that trippy wonderland hole smiles, but all the others don't. another little detail is when the truck driver get out and sees lewis transform it there's a chicken under their cap, and the truck plant lady get yeeted into there's a chicken on it. aaaannnddd when lewis throws arther into the truck in hellbent when arther screams the face lewis makes is so funny, hdjdidn I just...I watch this on a daily basis don't judge
i think Ive said enough here
About the head holding of Lewis and Deadbeats.
I watched over and I noticed when Shiro died the white liquid erupts from Mystery’s heart. Shiros hair is white, so maybe white is shiro?
Late to the party here, I know. But I think that the patches on Vivi and Shio are merely the good old "time mends all wounds". They are both old wounds, cause by the fight they had previously. It probably mended with time. they look more like bandages to me (the lack of writing on them and the clear "edge" of a bandage that most seal won't have, not in this color. Plus they are flesh colored, like the majority of bandages.)
I like the idea of ???? possessing those with intense negative emotions
Though another interesting thing are ruptures in Mystery’s heart and what they supposedly represent.
It seems like Mystery has been bottling up all of this and it comes to a head in battle in The Future
Naturally part of this is him not wanting to reveal his past but the stuff with Arthur, Lewis and potentially ???? is different.
I thought it was implied that the hand was following them, look at the bonsai lady's scissors
I love your channel
O_o i realized what if arthur's hand is the green hand in freaking out
As someone learning Japanese, i know this might be obvious know, but, Shiromori's name literally translates to white tree or white forest (not sure which), so the white is probably representing her.
9:08 you should make a theory on who the person on the bottom of the picture here is
Arthur's arm freaksout in the future video same way it does in the freaking out video so I believe Arthur's arm is tied to mysterys kitsune forms because each time Arthur's arm freaks out mystery is in a new form
The green arm is Arthur’s it even had his wrist band
I thought Lewis was holding his head because vivi was hurt and it also caused him to be in pain for some reason
I recently rewatched the video and noticed that when it does the rewind bit, it says something in reverse. Maybe something to look into?
3:14
"deadbeats"
Could they be...
*from the rabbit hole*
Oh... Danganronpa background music. I see you are a man of culture as well
Mystery's tails count has fluctuated through out the videos, but in "The Future" you do see additional tails manifest from nothing.
I just realised Shiromori's heart looks like a Japanese Lantern plant
Mind if I ask, where do you get those animated info cards for the characters?
If I remember, the main creator behind the animations put them on Tumblr.
@@Killrbladez I know the creator's tumblr account (because I follow it) but I haven't found them, can you provide a link?
I couldn't find it either, but you can go to the mystery skulls animated Wiki to find the cards.
thanks!
so I noticed no one brought up that Lewis' presence is the root of their van troubles and the reason Lewis is revealed to Arthur.
The black stuff from the dog was bursted when sarmory died so it could be his evil self from the past like he turned into killer misery before?
btw i found out that shirmori could be a joboku tree, in other words a vampire tree
In my point of view Shiramori became addicted to Mystery’s blood making him suffer, that’s why Mushi befriended with him to kill Shiramori
I have no idea what this is meant to mean, but could it be connected to something?
i think that lewis is somehow connected to vivi and fells some sort of feeling that warns him when vivi is extremly harmed .
proof 1
when mystery becomes the super colurful dog (i don't know his name) nothing happens but when vivi is thrown against the van he coverse his ears
proof 2
if he covered his ears because of super colurful dog he would look at him first but instead he looks at hurt vivi then super colurful dog
proof 3
it's clear that the red flower of plant girl (i don't know her name) is connected to the person that it represent a.k.a mystery , and we see that lewis puts blue flowers in his locket so hed most likely be connected to vivi
And that's my theory
Maybe yellow is Arthur and Orange is Lance.
Cause Arthur's hair has yellow and orange but has more yellow hair, and Lance has orange and yellow hair but had more orange.( Probably the other way around )
But the sparks from the yellow essence are orange and the sparks from the orange one are yellow
Dunno about black tho.
Ive ways wo dered why Luis' heart is yellow. Like, it turns blue a few times when its injured and stuff but. Why is its normal color yellow?
