I really like the theory of the Deadbeats being a representation of Lewis’s Feelings! I’ve always wondered why there is always one Deadbeat that seems Sad, Scared, or guilty. That one deadbeat could be the representation of the small guiltiness of trying to kill Arthur.
There is one odd ball Deadbeat when Arthur falls into the truck, in the top right corner there is one smileing. Me and a friend also thought of that same thing, yes Lewis is very mad at Arthur but he's also sad that he's doing what he's doing to Arthur, but even then he's still a least a little happy to see him again!
Arthur doesnt fears Mystery just from this Episode on, but from the Moment he was biting his Arm off. Didnt you noticed that? Arthur fears Mystery since Lewis Death, which he obviousy has forgotten. Only Mystery can remember what happened and cant bring himself to tell the Others. So they all actively search for Lewis, not knowing at all that he's even Dead, let alone a Ghost, let alone on their Trail to murder Arthur! They obviously can't remember, and this in turn makes Arthur fear Mystery, because his Arm was bitten off.
Before Lewis drops Arthur into the spike pit you said that Lewis's mechanical arm paralysis wore off and that Lewis revealed his human face. I think because Arthur touched Lewis with the ghostly infected arm that it _showed_ Lewis's human face, Lewis didn't purposely show Arthur his face. This also explains why Arthur's face is so shocked because he had no idea his best friend was trying to kill him. And Lewis probably thought he knew so when Arthur finally says "Lewis?!" At the end in shock, Lewis finally realizes that he didn't know that Arthur didn't know it was him and he was hesitating before so this probably crushed him. This also opens up the whole mystery of, why don't you remember killing me? Because like you said in the video, all Lewis saw was an evil looking Arthur before he was killed so he _assumed_ that Arthur knew he killed him. Hell, he probably thought Arthur was smart enough to connect the dots; you killed me and now I'm haunting you. But he didn't know he killed you! He was looking for you Lewis! Hurts me, this really hurts me. I really hope Mystery doesn't get shot, I really hope I'm not right, my heart can't handle it.

I have a theory. It's a bit long and repeats a lot said in the video, so bear with me. The ground is covered in snow here too, but it's hard to tell white grass from white snow. The first time around, the ancestor gets tied up in roots and Mystery was looking on all smug; the arrows, helmet, and sword showing that a number of warriors fell victim to this trap already. The ancestor is clearly a badass if she can take on Mystery, but fighting a forest of deadly magic trees and a kitsune at once isn't a good idea so she escapes. Plants can't function in cold weather so the ancestor comes back with the ice katana and uses to freeze and kill the forest, forcing Mystery to fight her head on. Shiromori absorbs the blood from the fight and survives the cold, but now aware that cold can kill her; which may be why she freaks out when she first sees Vivi only to realize that it's just some girl with a baseball bat and gets angry.
I quite enjoyed your theory, however with the Gunshot and the hole at the end, I saw it completely differently. I suspected it was the gun but my mind went straight to Arthur being punctured and killed by one of the Stalagmites.

Tbh, I really hope that MysteryBen27 could possibly hire somebody to do a comic series based off of his animations ;w; I think that'd be great!
Look at the way Vivi is holding her bat as she's blocking Shiromori. there's a good chance her left hand got badly damaged, causing Mystery to go all Kyuubi Doom. You can't see it in that last multi-shot, so it's either gone or horribly damaged.
whether or not you chalk it up to "fangirls" you gotta admit that there IS a possibility that this is leading up to a lewis-centric love triangle! considering that arthur seemed close with him, looking at him rather than vivi when jealous, clinging to him in the cave, choosing to go with him over vivi, and evidently losing many nights of sleep looking for him! it's not impossible.
Yeah, but keep in mind, he threw Lewis over the cliff, not Vivi, and so I doubt his feelings of jealousy were because he wanted Lewis for himself, rather than because he was actually just jealous of Lewis as a person. It's not impossible I suppose, but I remain highly doubtful that that's where the story is going.
I can see why Lewis was uneasy about what he was going to do to Arthur and how it was really hard to do this to his best friend as Lewis (when he was once alive) was known to be kind and caring...killing was not one of the things he wouldn't do but pushed himself painfully to do so. As we all know when lewis lets go of Arther as he saw his best friend fall down to his death he felt nothing but instant regret that painfully made his heart break. Thats when you know that Lewis deep down truly cares for his best friend Arthur or he realized that Arthur was innocent after all. This is what I'm guessing, after all it's a theory
Hi love the theory, but there was one thing in the animation that I think some may have overlooked or didn't take into account. Vi, when she is defending against scissor lady her bat is glowing blue. This blue is kinda like a cold blue that winter is like, as the nameless woman's blade had snowflake hilt and the blade had purplish huge with snowflakes on it, this power might be winter or snow? Snow, is sometimes seen as pure or clean so maybe this sword was use to cleanse or purify the forest that Mystery was in, it could also explain that maybe the forest was corrupted by his blood too. It's just a guess, but is it possible that she challenged mystery to a duel and won cleansing the forest and Mystery now protects her bloodline perhaps?
@@MisterSkids I was wondering that too, but from how the light reflects off the pool, shouldn't some of it be shadowed by the Shiro-trees? I wonder if it could be a pool that is tainted from blood, causing it to go a yellow color. Perhaps its how Mystery can feed the Shiro-trees, putting it in the water for the branches to soak up, some of them are in the water right?
What I just noticed watching this is that in the shot of Lewis awakening as a spirit, he's surrounded by the same green fog that seemed to herald Arthur's possession. There's been no other evidence of him being influenced by the green thing, and we see in Freaking Out that it's still in Arthur's arm, so I don't know what the significance is- except that the One of Us promo has the Deadbeats in a similar greenish color to the mist? Perhaps that's where he actually got them from- though that doesn't discount your theory of extant occult knowledge, as he may have used said knowledge to trap the mist. Also a dimension to the last shot you didn't quite cover- part of why Lewis was so heartbroken was because of Arthur's surprise, especially as Arthur didn't even scream as he fell; Lewis is suddenly realizing that things may not be as they seem, that maybe Arthur didn't murder him after all and didn't even know he was dead. Taking away all the impetus he had been relying on in a moment of shock to compound the guilt of what he was doing. No wonder his kokoro is brokoro D:
Vivi made Lewis's kokoro go doki doki... now it's stopped. And that theory could also go with why the arm possessed Arthur, it could have been coincidental but it is also possible that the deadbeats and the ??? arm thing all have some reason to want to harm Arthur. On top of that, Arthur's color is yellow, and both the deadbeats and Lewis have yellow hearts. Hell Lewis's flower even has yellow in the middle! That just leaves why exactly Arthur has some sort of connection to all those ghosts...
16:47 Or she's just embarrassed because she realized the girl she was looking at wasn't the same person she was seeing. Before "The Future" came out, I would have just said that Lance's gun was just a normal shotgun (I literally just googled it, and yes, older shotguns did have to be manually cocked). But now that "The Future" has come out... *there's no way in heck a normal shotgun would have been able to fire that many times without reloading it!*
Skids. Give your opinions. Do think that Arthur IS ACTUALLY going to die and then after Lewis regrets going so far brings Arthur back and during this process the real truth gets revealed to Lewis through flashes or whatever? Do you think that Lewis will EVER find out about the green "???" spirit that possessed Arthur? (Also. Have you noticed that one of the deadbeats almost always has a not so happy look on it? Could this 1 specific deadbeat represent Lewis's deep down not so sure of going through with killing Arthur? Could it represent Lewis's actual understanding that Arthur always felt out and unneeded and Lewis actually feels bad for knowing this and taking no action himself? Maybe both?) (And while Lewis is after Arthur. Even though the inside of the locket is Lewis with Vivi. It might actually be pretty important that the locket is actually colored Arthur's orange instead of purple or blue.)
people always ask me about the dead beat and yes i noticed them, My two theories are that there captured spirits or his emotions, im pretty sure there his captured spirits helping hold him to the world because of the "one of Us" announcment. as for the Spirit, that I am not certain if lewis well find out about, but I am sure that the ??? has yet to play his final part in this story
@@MisterSkids From what I've heard this story is going to only have 5 parts. 5 videos. We've gots 3 so far and 2 to go. I'm excited to see how things go down and what happens. But..... at the same time I'm a little sad. Only 2 more..... I really like this story. It's so special and unique.
One thing I want to add about Vivi and the ice sword. During the super scissor scene, the bat is wrapped in a fog or glow that is similar to the swords color. That would imply that the apperance of the blade is an ability of some kind. Perhaps inherited, either by the grandmother or a past life, or perhaps due to the charm around the handle.
I like some of your theories but I think you might be off on some of your reading expressions stuff. 16:30 for example; I'd expect her blush is more embarrassment. She freaked PTSD style for a moment seeing the Samurai challenging her, and when her vision cleared it was just the nerdy girl holding a bat. Combined with Mystery's reaction this only made her even more angry that she was put off momentarily by the illusion; resulting in a doubling down in the aggression. Imagine the crazy axe wielding maniac killer freaking out in front of his victims because he saw a cockroach next to them. Her losing face in her big moment would be more than enough to be humiliated and more frustrated once she realized what happened. 17:30 Lewis does have an expression change once Arthur starts screaming, but I also interpret that more as exasperation than regret. A "Are you kidding me?" note before throwing him in the hole. He's clearly not relishing his fear like the Oni girl is. I get the feeling more of annoyance or frustration is a better explanation. His train of thought is interrupted by something that's mildly irksome and he's not taking any enjoyment out of, and he expresses that displeasure before moving on with what he was doing. I think Lewis is still too high on his thoughts of revenge to really be questioning his actions at this point let alone showing regret or hesitation.
You may very well be right about Shiromori since Kitsune can create illusions, but your theory does not explain why exactly Lewis heart is breaking more than ever before if he's just going "You have got to be kidding me".
@@tevinanarchy774 Again, I think he's just focused on revenge. Only after the fact does he face a "What have I done?" moment and regrets his actions. Until that point he's solely about blue girl and getting some comeuppance for what he's suffered through.
@@jg2323 Okay. What do you think of the deadbeats, specifically the change in facial expressions some have like that one who was sad about Arthur's danger
@@tevinanarchy774 The ghost things? I've no idea. It's unclear if they are sapient and feel things on their own or are a reflection of Lewis; as they show a range of responses positive and negative to the situations. That could be Lewis having mixed feelings, or they're just ghosts who have individual personalities and respond differently. Or it could be an afro samurai situation where they are an external manifestation of Lewis' emotions that he's pushed aside. In that cartoon Afro himself was quiet, reserved, and intense. Afro Ninja however was a imaginary friend of the protagonist who was outgoing, loudmouthed, sassy and generally said what was on his mind, because he was everything the protagonist pushed aside to embrace his single minded focus on vengeance and displayed none of those qualities himself. We don't know what exactly the deadbeats relationship with him is other than following him around.
what if shirimori (srry if i spelled it wrong) was the flower that agreed to the deal? she was only after the blood to help her forest instead of all for herself? and the blue woman is acutely the bad one but trying to look like a good person?
I would just like to say that it's a really nice touch that Shiromori's handwrap is still missing after Lewis burned it off in Freaking Out. Secondly, Lewis' heart. Oh boy, Lewis' heart. Cracked when Blue, Vivi's color. Yellow, only to turn a cracked black once Arthur discovers who Lewis is. I think the colors of Lewis' heart might be some indicator for his relationships. Given that Arthur was looking for him in the first place, he may well not remember what happened to Lewis at all and is searching for him, the yellow whole. But Vivi can't even remember Lewis period, hence the crack when it's blue.
Almost a year late, but one of the first things I thought when seeing the logo at the end shot was of the multiple tails of a kitsune, but you describing it as the flowing scarf also fit once you mentioned it.
I'm always sad that no one talks about that one deadbeat that has a look of regret or sadness! If they are based off his feelings then there is one part of him that dosen't want to do this because, maybe just maybe he knows that couldn't have been his bestfriend that killed him!
At the end with the 5 split parts, the background colors of each character have been said to be who they’re looking at. So I think Shiromori is attacking Mystery, mystery is protecting Vivi, and ViVi is looking at shiromori afraid, or is just unconscious
I'm guessing that Lance shoots Mystery thinking that he was a monster that he was attacking Vivi. Meanwhile, Lewis saves Arthur & tells him to give his locket to Vivi to help her remember him. And Arthur's old possesed arm grew a new body to reveal why Arthur pushed Lewis to his death.
Now if lance would shoot at mystery it wouldn't effect him since only magic weapons and the sorts can injure kitsune and are good old pal mystery is a kitsune so the other theory in lance shooting sheramori is as you said the best option
Anyone notice that the scissors have an eye for the pivot joint? Also, Lewis's look? I see it more as disgust. Like "Dude, you killed me, grow an effing pair..." Or maybe thinking to himself "This is who killed me? Something isn't adding up here..."
I personally have the feeling that the warrior we see confronting Mystery in the flashbacks was Shiromori in human form. Hence the reason she gets so angry at seeing Vivi being that she's being replaced or something.
If you look at the deadbeats in the “cave,” all but one of them seem set on terrorizing Arthur. One, however, looks unsure and or saddened by the scenario. If it is Lewis’s conscience given form, that could make a lot of sense, as that particular deadbeat would symbolize his reluctance to follow through with his revenge.
Another option is that people keep going into mysteries forest and trying to cut down trees or take something so mystery kept having to kill them and every time people went in there and no one came back they sent more warriors trying to kill mystery.
This may be a small thing but I don't think Arthur was moving his arm at the end. To me it looked like the spectral energy, trapped in Arthur's arm, was trying to return to Lewis. It feels like Lewis' revealed face came more from the energy returning than from his action.
!!! It makes sense now. Lewis is not a Revenant, but rather--a Lich--a deliberately created undead magic user--and the heart is his phylactery... which he apparently created using some of Vivi's essence, as a sort of romantic pact between the two of them. It makes sense--he and Vivi were dabbling in the occult long prior to his death, thus her fascination with ghosts and haunted places--and I mean, who just 'happens' to keep a magical fox around as a pet? Lewis turning undead wasn't complete happenstance, but a desperate use of his esoteric knowledge of necromancy magic, from past 'investigations'.

This is what I'm guessing, after all it's a theory
I thought the mystery skull logo at the end of hellbent was hinting that Arthur died because of the hole in the logo
In the cave scene you can see vivi at the bottom left corner of the spikes at 10:24
The thought that the reason why lewis had the map and he was so shocked because there was no body is a very interesting theory.
When you said "Pit of Spikes" I was like OMG YOU'RE RIGHT
Your comedy is AMAZING..
I like you ☺
I think Lewis’s expression before throwing Arthur into the truck is more like “Seriously? At least have some *dignity* “
13:09 shut up, goofball! I don't want any of your Chocolate Chunker Wunker Bunkers: Now With Even More Chunks Of Chocolate Chunks!
Is it just me, or is there a slight, ghost-like echo to Skids’ voice? Cause if there is, it’s a very nice touch to go with the ghost OC of his
yes i did add a reverb effect for added style, glad you noticed ^^
DON'T. YOU. DARE! that got me XD
Ok, but grammar?
@@slevinchannel7589 what about it, grammar nazi?
The hole could also be the spikes in the truck, possibly for a trick on us to throw us of
I could be wrong here but I think that Louis might actually be the descendant of the orchestrator in mystery skulls magic video
I'm pretty sure those are separate worlds.
hEy!
I think that Mystery stays with vivi’s family for generations
my thoughts exactly
11:27 am i the only one that's interested on how the pool at the bottom is gold?
i was thinking about that, I was thinking maybe that it was the light reflecting off the sun and sky
@@nectarmouth See I wasn't sure if it was the sky either, but I usually avoid talking about things unless I have conclusive evidence of what they are.
I love how you called shiormori (sorry idk how to spell it) GROOT
9:09 LMAO
7:24 XD
7:47 XD
14:51 i think the ancestor is shiromori herself, look at that ponytail and shiromori's tree on her head.
*MYSTERY SKULLS MADE A NEW* *UPDATE THE FUTURE!!!!!*
Fangasm? FUCKING FANGASM!? That is now my favorite word
Arthur can't become a revenant like Lewis, he has nothing to be hateful about.
though he might become one of the deadbeats (The pink ghosts that follow Lewis.)
@@zarinkentusa7873 in pretty sure Lewis would not be okay with that...
@@cristobalalvarez1427 true though depending on what the dead beats are he might not have a choice.
what if shirimori (srry if i spelled it wrong) was the flower that agreed to the deal? she was only after the blood to help her forest instead of all for herself? and the blue woman is acutely the bad one but trying to look like a good person?
So well made!!
Thank you so much! It took me over a month of nonstop work on it
*Show the yaoi pic* DONT YOU DARE!! LMAO my favorite line ever!! I would ship them teehee~
the entire time during the intro I was internally begging for the music to stop so I could stop fangirling
I'm back in the year 2020, there is an announcement of the new upcoming Mystery Skulls album and a few teasers of an upcoming animation.

MisterSkids Ah, I see I see! Thanks for the heads up!
@@R1p71d3 No problem, im still mulling over the implications in my head plus working on the newest video

I Loved that tf2 scout reference DENIED IM BATTIN A THOUSAND!
Great Going.
Congrats on 1K Subs.
I agree with you on the fangirls part "DON'T YOU DARE YOU DAMN FANGIRLS" I feel a bit sorry for Slenderman being chased by those...fangirls
My questions were answered! *THANK YOU* MISTERSKID! YOU EARNED A SUB! :D
I'm always sad that no one talks about that one deadbeat that has a look of regret or sadness! If they are based off his feelings then there is one part of him that dosen't want to do this because, maybe just maybe he knows that couldn't have been his bestfriend that killed him!
I did talk about it in a general sort of sense as the video was already getting insanely long and i couldnt go into details
At the end with the 5 split parts, the background colors of each character have been said to be who they’re looking at. So I think Shiromori is attacking Mystery, mystery is protecting Vivi, and ViVi is looking at shiromori afraid, or is just unconscious
A new episode just came out yesterday and I watched it as the first episode I ever had
It's called the future
*HHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM*
you could also call him a lich (fairly similar concept)
I'm guessing that Lance shoots Mystery thinking that he was a monster that he was attacking Vivi.
Meanwhile, Lewis saves Arthur & tells him to give his locket to Vivi to help her remember him.
And Arthur's old possesed arm grew a new body to reveal why Arthur pushed Lewis to his death.
What about that sad dead beat ghost?
Its face looks like its pity for Arthur
Maybe its going to help Arthur?
This is just my opinion
DAT INTRO THO OMG AMAZING
Also great job w those amazing theories
Now if lance would shoot at mystery it wouldn't effect him since only magic weapons and the sorts can injure kitsune and are good old pal mystery is a kitsune so the other theory in lance shooting sheramori is as you said the best option
WHAT'S TORGUE DOING HERE
5:28 Huzzah! A man of quality.
not realy a theary but i wonder why the plan mosnter ( dont knwo how to spell it) is blue of all conners i wonder if its conected
Idk if it's just me or I can't count but when he showed the picture of mystery and the flower it looks like he already have 9 tails
Anyone notice that the scissors have an eye for the pivot joint? Also, Lewis's look? I see it more as disgust. Like "Dude, you killed me, grow an effing pair..." Or maybe thinking to himself "This is who killed me? Something isn't adding up here..."
Maybe lewis is the ghostrider. Transforms machines, uses fire, seeks vengeance, is a skeleton, head is on fire.
OMG how did we not see this before! Better than Nick Cage as an actor too!
@@MisterSkids I know right. Ghost rider 3.
Take a shot every time he makes a "HMMMMMM!!" noise
I had a theory that Arthur actually died at the end of Hellbent, and he comes back as a orange thunder ghost in part 4.
I saw that papyrus "NYEH!!!" You snuck a sans joke in their triggering Papyrus
You've activated my Sans Card
Love the mustase!
Really wishing i knew about Phylactarys BEFORE making this video now, bleh
Though I states in a previous theory that Lewis had occult knowledge before dying and I was 100% right, go check it, theres proof on my channel
Do a review on Mystery Skulls Magic animation video, thanks.
