For my needs as hobby pilot with small plane it’s ideal. I can easily and quickly change angles or places from where i want to shoot. As a first and only camera for those needs, there is no other choice. Just ordered one yesterday and can’t wait. I’m ok with quality, for instagram it’s enough.
Hi I enjoy your videos. I have been considering the Go 3 and almost pulled the trigger on it today, but did not. It would be my first foray into action cameras. I’m a cyclist, and I going to be doing a lot of traveling, biking and hiking, and I would like something to document my travels. Anyway, what would you consider a best first action camera? Thank-you
Hey there! Go 3 is a good option (I'd consider a portable power bank). Compared to GoPro, the workflow is slightly different when it comes to free-frame mode or Timelapse because you need to process videos through the mobile app or the desktop software. It's pretty simple and sometimes even helpful (because I can trim clips before editing), but it is less straightforward than just dragging and dropping clips from a microSD card. Good luck searching!
I had the original Go, and was happy with it till I lost it in the spring. I have had mine for 2 months now, I bought the black 128 gig version and love it. It isn't as slippery as the white model so less chance of dropping and damaging it. Regarding the wide angle view of the camera, could insta 360 ir a third party come out with a lens that can be put on which would narrow the view? I am not too knowledgeable about optics.
Congrats on your purchase; the black one looks really cool! As for the lens, I wish there would be a solution, but I haven't found anything like that. I've seen this kind of thing done to GoPros, but I assume it requires some camera body modifications. Though Go 3 has screwable filters, maybe something will come out eventually.
A good, no nonsense review. Keep up the good work. I almost bought this, but looks like it doesn’t match my needs. My search continues. I might consider the insta 360 x3 or the dji cosmo pocket 3
Thank you! I'm glad to know you find this video informative. The camera is perfect for some things but could be stronger in other cases. Good luck with your research!
Now, this is a real honest review. Thank you so much for this. I recently acquired an Insta360 Go 3 and everything you’ve mentioned here is accurate. I had a Go 2 that got lost due to us doing a big move. It wasn’t a perfect camera but it’s portability and capability to do more creative shots made it easier for me to do more outdoor/walking vlogs. This is why I picked this action camera despite other brands with better video quality.
I just bought a Go 3 and on my first use came up with the vertical/horizontal issue you did. I hope this is something that is addressed in a firmware update.

Hey there! There is no night mode in Go 3. It has an additional video stabilisation feature that reduces the blurriness of videos in low light conditions, but it darkens it quite a bit. I don't like to use it in the low light. If you mean the shutter speed, I can usually solve the flicker issue by manually setting the shutter speed to 1/50.
Yep, I just bought one. I use the GO 3 as a body camera. (Since my city is getting dangerous and I've been having harsh/abusive interactions with ppl almost daily.
Hi, first of all: thanks! Your point of view about this camera is unique and quite different compared to that of other "big UA-camrs"...😉 A quick (maybe too simplicistic) question: do You think this camera could be good for documenting and keeping memories of one's "private" vacations/trips? I mean: I do not plan to share those videos/pictures in social media and I do not vlog or "produce" YT videos... just for personal memories... at most to be shared with relatives and close friends. I wanted an OSMO DJI Pocket 3 at first, but I'd like a more compact and "wearable" camera... I am planning to travel to Japan next year and I'd like to be comfortable and not keep (at least) one hand busy with managing the camera, because I guess I would have to use the smartphone to check maps/translator... and I need something more compact, "wearable" and ready to film some decent shots even in crowded areas without needing to "prepare" getting something out from pockets/backpack and setting it, awaiting for a bit of free space or quiet moment to be able to record something...
Thank you for your feedback; I appreciate your attention to this detail in the video!☺️ Answering your question, Go 3 can serve this purpose with no issues. There needs to be more than a wide-angle lens for video production, but it captures things you want to document just as well as any other lens. It's the same as if you always mount it on your hat or carry it on your chest - clips won't be "cinematic", but they will be better than no clips. I use it for documenting my family events, and even when I have a camera bag with me, I often just rely on Go 3 + phone for zoomed-in shots. Enough quality to satisfy my wife🤣 I suggest spending some time understanding its functionality to get the most out of the product!
I like the honesty. And I agree when it comes to video quality, it is not that great on low-light settings, it is more for more-light settings. Even taking videos inside my room with plenty of light, it's grainy. I will be returning mine as well.

I was planning on using it for food videos in restaurants as it's perfect with the magnetic necklace, but most of those kind of places aren't really well lit. Hey! The critical difference is that Ace Pro can shoot in higher resolution. While Go 3 is more versatile and portable. Here is the company's own article: www.insta360.com/blog/tips/insta360-ace-pro-x3-go-3-which-action-camera.html
Hello there, I see you are a drummer 😊 I also am and was thinking about buying a camera to film the drums installation as a POV shot and also to film gigs situation (POV and camera facing the drums or mounted on a cymbal stand). Would you recommend this one to do so ? Was wondering if a GoPro would work better but really like the fact that the GO3 is tiny. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hey, fella drummer!😃 In the case of mounting, GO3 is fantastic. I could even attach it to cymbal stands on its own magnet. And plenty of options for POV, of course. The only area this camera is weak in is when it's dark. There should be no issues if it's for the studio, daylight performance or a well-lit stage.
Thank you for the video! I have from the beginning the hero 5 session, and use it to create memories on my bike and travels etc. It's a must for me, the small size and I never wanted to replace it with a full frame action camera. I was waiting for maybe a new model of hero session but this never happened. My hero session's battery shows it's age and sometimes my camera freezes and becomes very hot to the touch till it drains it's battery. It is a time to replace it. I am considering the insta360 go 3. I don't mind the 2.7K resolution. Even that hero5 session can shoot 4K, all my videos are recorded at 2.7K. I see that you have both cameras. Can you make a comparison between of the hero5 session and insta360 go 3 and share your thoughts? Thank you in advance and I subscribed!
Hey, thanks for your feedback! Actually, I got Hero 4. It's older than yours. I appreciate the ability to see what I shoot, even on the bike (with the Session, I had to use my phone). Also, Go 3 has way more out-of-box mounting options (if you already have a camera clip for your bike). I have a few videos on this channel where I ride my e-bike with this camera (an example: ua-cam.com/video/TSzX4kgHS4c/v-deo.html). I like the results!

Hi there! Did I understand right that you have no one to help you film while you are performing? In this case, I would not choose a phone (I think that the phone camera would be more useful for recording some B-rolls of the event while you are free). If the light is good Go 3 can cover a lot of scenarios, such as wide shots of your audience and cool POV shots from your side. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the real 360 footage like from X3, though it depends on what your performance looks like. Ace Pro might be a bit better than Go 3 as an overall camera but with fewer mounting options. And the Pocket 3 I believe has the following feature, which would allow you to add more motion to your performance if you have to move around the stage. I hope this can help!
@@AlexTchaikovsky, yes it would just be me by myself, so no one helping me. I was thinking about either the Ace Pro or Go 3, and I like the Pocket 3 too! I just cannot decide which one to actually choose. Your thoughts have been very helpful, I do appreciate it.

Any portable power bank will be enough if you only need to charge Go 3! I'd choose one with usb-c out (the camera comes with usb-c/usb-c cable). But you can be more strategic. If, for example, you have other cameras that can be charged from the power bank or your phone needs one. In this video, I used my Baseus (100w, 20000mAh) power bank that I actually got for charging my Macbook while on the go. It's the biggest one I'm allowed to take on the plane. I love it. But for many people, it's going to be an overkill!
I'm on a search for an action camera to put on my head while I'm playing volleyball. been recommended the Go3 because of the low weight and small size of it. but would it really record in a good quality inside a volleyball court? will it stay on my head? how is the stabilization gonna with all the jumps and movements? couldn't really find some one that cover Theos things would love it if u could answer these questions even partly
I think that the hat clip is quite reliable. It should not fall. But regarding the light, I'm not quite sure. In this video(ua-cam.com/video/UajvGAXc41A/v-deo.html), I used Go 3 to record a badminton game on the courts; maybe it can help you?
@@AlexTchaikovsky Can u make another updated video of u plying badminton? If I'm correct you haven't used the free frame mode or some other mode with high resolution and stabilisation on. Or maybe if u know of a video of some one using in that setting

Hey there! Yes, it is suitable for walking or riding videos.Go3 provides several mounting options for POV shots, and it also works well for hand-held stuff. 2 main concerns would be: 1) Light - It's not great in the dark; 2) Battery - It is supposed to shoot max for 2 hours when it's inside the case and only 40ish minutes when it's out. Other than this, I see no issues. It stabilises well, and I like the sound; it's pretty reliable!
Thank you very much. I am preparing it and the program that can be seen from the name of my channel. I will definitely prepare it to promote my work. Thank you very much@@AlexTchaikovsky
Well, it's a good point! It's like a trade with drone shots. They are not as good as, let's say, Sony or Canon clips, but the angle is valuable. It may be essential to the story. So, If you can shoot something unique with Go3, it is worth considering because quality is secondary. But strictly specs-wise - yes, it could be better.
Hey! There are many reasons for that, and in my experience, it is always a problem with the editing software. I would try to use another app or a desktop editor to see if this still happens!
Yes the low light. Due to it small sensor, no choice. You may now consider the DJI pocket 3. But you have to careful with it. As it is a gimbal, therefore no underwater and be ver careful during hikes.
Thanks for your suggestion! I've seen previous generations of Pocket and it's an impressive gear! But I think Go 3 suits my needs better; after all, I need it as an action camera more often than when I shoot indoors.
@AlexTchaikovsky I personally love to own one, but I have too many gear. My wife and children complaining already hahahhaha. My only choice to use one, is hoping my photography buddies can lend me. Hahahahaha. Yes GO is definitely very useful for a very creative shots no other cameras can, due to its size.
@AlexTchaikovsky I have 2 kids and they are young adults now. Looking back those videos taken while they are little is priceless. Really videos add another dimension compared to photography. I took more videos nowadays. Enjoy your children company as much as possible, they grow very very fast 😆

I can try this week if you still need it!@@meir1224
@@AlexTchaikovsky im sure that many will thank you for that video and information. Because u made a first impression right out of the box now we need a new vlog with all the settings 😉
Thanks for the feedback! And that's a good tip, thank you!@@meir1224
In your opinion, this small camera with its magnetic properties is suitable for taking walking videos in the city, commercial complexes and markets.
Hey there! Yes, it is suitable for walking or riding videos.Go3 provides several mounting options for POV shots, and it also works well for hand-held stuff. 2 main concerns would be:
1) Light - It's not great in the dark;
2) Battery - It is supposed to shoot max for 2 hours when it's inside the case and only 40ish minutes when it's out.
Other than this, I see no issues. It stabilises well, and I like the sound; it's pretty reliable!
Thank you very much. I am preparing it and the program that can be seen from the name of my channel. I will definitely prepare it to promote my work. Thank you very much@@AlexTchaikovsky
Question mark when asking, please. You are welcome.
I wanted to purchase for small clips to add on my videos and shorts/reels but 2.7k video recording stopping me and free frame also 1080p😢
I purchased go3 but during editing in my iphone 11,go3 clips video & audio not sync,
Why not syncing audio & video pls help ❤
Hey! There are many reasons for that, and in my experience, it is always a problem with the editing software. I would try to use another app or a desktop editor to see if this still happens!
@@AlexTchaikovsky thanku for your precious reply 🥰
what job do you do in china ?
I used to play drums as my full-time! These days, I'm doing more video production-related things.
@@iamleek I think (hope) that the coming videos of our family trips are helping my wife to think a bit less about my coming new gear, haha.
@AlexTchaikovsky I have 2 kids and they are young adults now. Looking back those videos taken while they are little is priceless. Really videos add another dimension compared to photography. I took more videos nowadays. Enjoy your children company as much as possible, they grow very very fast 😆
Thank you, I will follow your advice!@@iamleek
I order one, so i can have hands free ,by using the necklace
I love the necklace thing! When I have no room for any equipment, I just put Go 3 into my pocket, wear the necklace, and feel ready for most scenarios!
best setting for INSTA360
not the scrach camare lens
so use only home i know you thing this is a action camera
but you are wrong first day you can easly make a schrach and your camera useless because evry video take your scrach is there

That's pity to hear! There's a glass cover on the lens, though. Why did you remove it?
This guy... "WANTS TO BE A SALESMAN" ... getv a real job.
What's up, mate? Is something wrong with the video?
Alex showed pros and cons to the camera. Not salesman like at all. Are you stupid?
Милая, миниатюрная камера... Спасибо за обзор! Надеюсь рыбка не живет постоянно в этом маленьком аквариуме без фильтрации)
нет, в нем живёт краб😆
Stop LYING. You didn’t buy nothing, it was given to you to do this fake review. It says right on your video that it’s SPONSORED
… so, stop lying, you didn’t buy the camera!!
You got me. Also, I got a suitcase full of cash, which was meant to be yours. Life is unfair, I'm sorry. But I will give it back to you if you show me where it says SPONSORED on my video😉
He's not lying. Stop your hate , you'll feel better for it. Thank me later.
