this is seal music. water music. surf music. fantasy music! Great stuff!! Some day.....a long time from now Laugh For A World Filled With Fantasy will be aired on radio on a regualr basis and people will enjoy it with their children and close friends.
fyi, he is saying "i dont ever wanna smoke another joint, now tell me if you're down with it". apparently no one was down with it. re: chores lyrics about getting stoned in the rain & new song "marijuana makes my day" haha
Just in case people don't know, about 7:00 onward is a different version of a song called Search for Delicious which appeared on Panda Bear's best album Person Pitch. I think Search for Delicious is possibly Panda's best three minutes, but the rest of this song definitely should have made it on to the album too!
Just heard the lyric the title came from on Two Ragged Soldiers by Scott Walker and it reminded me that this song existed. I honestly thought Panda was singing downpitched, but that's so obviously a sample now.
The song is amazing, video is slightly seizure-triggery because of the unsteady camera and bright exposure, it feels like flashing. But I love this song.
I wonder if this song was scrapped due to Noah not being able to find decent quality samples... I could be wrong, but I have a feeling the audio of the samples he was using were super lofi and it's possible he sampled some unknown 60s group and couldn't find a better quality sample. I mean, this song idea sounds dope, but the audio is shit, so that's why this is my assumption.
Panda: "I think that's from "Laughed for a World Filled With Fantasy"[...] I was psyched about doing a duet with Scott Walker, that was the crux of that one. But it's also why I never recorded it as a studio thing, because that was one of those instances where I didn't get beyond just singing over someone else's song." From the linked interview. He was asked about if singing over loops in his solo work feels like singing over another song. pitchfork.com/features/interview/6685-animal-collective/

I keep on coming back to this grainy, ridiculously contrasted video and I don't know why. it's just got some aesthetic quality to it
It feels very nostalgic
i don't ever wanna smoke another joint
cause without it i'll be okay
worried cause i'd
rather be as sharp and as carefree
as i can be
One of the greatest artist of the 2010s this man was literally on a Solange album
really good choice of video to go with the track
I love the screaming sample. Makes me think of Avey Tare. (Or whatever it is.) It makes the song seem so much more 'dreamy'.
Panda Bear takes us for a ride in outer space - wow! Get onboard mate.
I love that sample from chain gang
Divine
so yeah this video pretty much is the perfect embodiment of this song for me
amazing video, just amazing. went together perfectly.
this video is insane
It should be
"i don't ever wanna use my phone again
cause without it ill be okay"
@MBArkestra Chain Gang by Sam Cooke.
Back here after several years. Still very few likes. What is wrong with the world?
Just heard the lyric the title came from on Two Ragged Soldiers by Scott Walker and it reminded me that this song existed. I honestly thought Panda was singing downpitched, but that's so obviously a sample now.
some nice footage- the world is kind of amazing isn't it? : )
I feel bad for the dog. He couldn’t find the ball… :(
the beat in the background sounds like what ended up being the basis of afterburner
No, afterburner is an Akira sample.
You have a source?
@@andrewczornyj9045it was revealed to me in a dream
This video is perfect for the song
There seems to be a "Working On the Chain Gang" sample ACH.

What do you use for a camera?
Nice reggae track

What a fantastic dog. What type? Looks a bit mutt-ish.
