I'm sure I don't have the full history right but as far as I know this was essentially one guys passion project that was on collected animals back in the day. He basically made this happen because he wanted a live show recording to be available and panda was down. Awesome. Thanks to that man!
It’s true. He was planning on making this a DVD release that was meant to be free, but ran into issue with the record label when it came to charging for postage and handling. The finished project was available as a download and users could burn their own DVD and print the case themselves.

oh, and perhaps that was a nice lil homage to Scott (Mou, of Queens & 1/2 of Jane) being on tour w/ him for those string of dates, as both Scott performed as Queens & Eric Copeland performed solo, each night. all were great sets, pre much, but i recall Scott's Philly set being particularly impactful, despite some sound issues & Eric's Manhattan set being rly nasty (incl either the speakers' baskets or outer edges of the cones glowing vibrant bright blue hues when sound got heavy; still unsure if this was the heavy dose i was on at the time or was a stylistic choice, since i vaguely recall seeing something similar at Black Dice's fairly recent show in Seattle)
tbh the shows got progressively better & better, each night. if there's a way to get all the performances that night (Eric Copeland's, Queens'), including Panda Bear's, from the Bowery Ballroom, the final night, i would surely love that and be greatly appreciative! if not, at least there's this incredible time capsule! :3

The sample that starts playing for a little bit at 39:53 sounds like the sample in his newer song "Getting to the point" but it sounds more clear. Probably not the same sample but they sound similar
Do you know which version of chain gang he sampled? Was it Sam Cookes? And ikr I dig his use of samples. It’s really inspiring. I recently got a Roland sp555 and I’ve been loving it so much. It’s so fun to make sound collages
Cnonymous I wonder what effects he used to stretch out the vocal part after the clap. He’s genius at sampling. It’s frustrating when I try and sample something similar cause it’s so hard to find other samples that fit with them
yup, as the post-show chat by noah, near the end of this vid, indicates, scott & danny (perez, who also put oddsac together), did the visuals for the tour. nifty, eh?
i do, indeed! but just so we're on the same page, this video is a mashup of songs taken from this tour, edited together by the good bloke, Mike 'Eattapes', an old fellow-Animal Collective Forum friend of mine, who put the whole People Party DVD together and distributed it to some folks in the forum for a short run, once it was completed. Was never fortunate enough to snag one, back then ... one of my biggest life regrets :( the first night (of the four-stop, week-long tour), which i did not attend, was on Monday, 6/18/2007, and had Rusty Santos & Kria Brekken (aka Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir) as openers (only *just* now discovered they opened that night as a one-off in deep-diving into Google and stumbling upon an ancient BrooklynVegan teaser article about the tour openers for the dates). then, i attended the Baltimore show @ Ottobar on Thursday, 6/21/2007, the Philadelphia show @ First Unitarian Church on Friday, 6/22/2007, and the NYC show, in Manhattan, at Bowery Ballroom on Saturday, 6/23/2007, with Scott Mou performing as Queens & Eric Copeland (of Black Dice) performing solo, all three of those nights.
