In the cockpit of the Air Canada Airbus A321 for a flight from Toronto to Montego Bay Jamaica and back. For the full 4 Hour program GO TO www.worldairroutes.com/AirCana...
I've been to Jamaica a couple of times and plan to go back again. I have never stayed at a resort and never wanted to although i hear they're nice. I always want to experience the real country. From my experience with the people, what I realised is how hard working they 'are. Especially the ones who farm and live in the country, which is where i stayed. Old, young, everybody worked hard every single day. From sun up to sun down. Some may not have a lot of money but they live in a paradise where they can grow amazing things. I love how many live off the land because they're blessed to be from a place where they can do that. And they must feel proud to enjoy the fruits of their labour. I could stay at a resort but I'm not. Back to the country i go among the farmers who always bless me with the food that they grow. And the fruit. OMG!!!! I love the countryside in Jamaica.
The first time I landed in Mobay in 89, we came in below the runway, gunned it at the last second, dropped like a rock, air brakes full on, reversethrust, stopped on a dime. A little whiplash , but hey, we're here. My first flight ever!
lovely, when you arrive be polite and patient, we always are and never have had any bad experiences, but some folks which i have seen are bad actors and slightly arrogant have been told too stand aside while the rest of us get grade a treatment, enjoy the island.
yea, there is a greek pilot i guess he have only 1 eye. he did one of the most impressive emergency landings. i think only color-blind ppl are not allowed to fly. greetings
I should have rephrased my question correctly. - At what point of the air travel does the pilot decide to turn off the auto pilot? Or what factor decides when the auto pilot would be turned off. In car cruise controls - the cruise control is turned off as soon as the driver hits the brake or manually turns off the cruise control.
Usually there's a button on the stick or yoke to turn it off, the autopilot switch can also be tripped if you put enough pressure either forward or backward on the control stick (not entirely sure about aileron movement though), that's why in very heavy winds or maybe if there's a sudden gust of wind it can turn off the autopilot. Airliners will manually do the takeoff and landing and the rest of the way will fly on autopilot although each airline have different SOP's so every airline will have their own variation, one pilot may tell you one thing although another pilot in another airline may tell you another, both are right its just different companies like to do things differently
Even better if you're left handed like me. I learned how to use my right hand on joysticks for flight sims and I'm pretty sure that right handed pilots would have an easy time learning how to use their left hand.
its not a ILS its a non precision approach VOR or RNAV to rwy 07 and they usually break off the DME arc once the field is in sight saves time and fuel like they did in this video, i dont think there is even a ILS at Sangster ... that being said the airbus can pretty much make anything look like a ILS it can build its own localizer and glide slope basically lol
You don´t perform a visual approach with autopilot (down to 500ft) and flight director´s ON... This video shows a proper GPS approach, not a visual one! You should correct it JustPlanes. Plus these Air Canada guys don´t enjoy the Airbus if they fly it like this all the time.

nice video! I love Air Canada and A330.
***** oh fuck! I thought it was an A330, no wonder the runway seemed short.
can you do a view landing and showing the speed indicator?
Good job 🙏👍
Welcome to my paradise :-)
I think you guys should try to get a video to Kingston Jamaica as well
Wow, the concentration in his face! Awesome what Humans can achieve!

Why was the camera view changed to the pilot's profile right when they laded

ohh ok thanks..
I'm surprised the line up and wait clearance was given before air Canada passed by.
nice^^
why dont finish the video
Raise your hand if you got clickbaited thinking this was some extreme crosswind from the thumbnail!
I thought Air Canada use EFBs?
So I take it the joy stick has replaced the yoke version?
That`s the difference between Airbus & Boeing.
Airbus - Joy Stick
Boeing - Yoke
Cl4rendon OOOO k
No. Side sticks on used by Airbus aircraft. Yokes are used by Boeing, CRJ....ect
The Airbuses, C Series, and Sukhoi all have those side joysticks, but Boeing, ERJ, and CRJ all still have a yoke of some sort.
The Airbus A300 and A310 both use yokes. The rest use side sticks.
I didn't know that it was possible to fly commercial airplanes with glasses
oh yes, no problem at all. it's just military fighter pilots that can't wear glasses I think
yea, there is a greek pilot i guess he have only 1 eye. he did one of the most impressive emergency landings. i think only color-blind ppl are not allowed to fly. greetings
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
ma guan! dis is yo radio tower speaking bombaclot! land da bombaclot plane on ranway 07!
Cave-man I’m Jamaican and what you just said was so dumb 😂
Cave-man umm that's not how we speak sir
When does the auto pilot come off?
Listen to the signal sound at 1:48
I should have rephrased my question correctly. - At what point of the air travel does the pilot decide to turn off the auto pilot? Or what factor decides when the auto pilot would be turned off.

can be turned off when they like , shouldn't be turned off if can't see runway
Usually there's a button on the stick or yoke to turn it off, the autopilot switch can also be tripped if you put enough pressure either forward or backward on the control stick (not entirely sure about aileron movement though), that's why in very heavy winds or maybe if there's a sudden gust of wind it can turn off the autopilot. That's an older bird. Looks like old CRT displays.
thumbnail was quite misleading lol
hahahaha at the beginning of the video the true airspeed and ground speed of the A321 was 321 kts!
So did you play those numbers in your local Lottery?
so what? Never heard of the difference between IAS and TAS
MONTEGO BAY SECOND LARGEST CITY IN JAMAICA 🇯🇲
I have stayed in a hotel near this runway and watched planes land.
Montenegro? I thought you said Montego? Abort landing...
i guess they didn't see Usain Bolt...hehehe
hey
TOUCH DOWN😁😁😁
How awful it must be to pilot such a large aircraft with a joystick and left hand.
Even if it was a yoke, he would be using his left hand. Right hand is on the throttle.
The A321 isn't a large aircraft when you compare it to an A380, which also uses a joystick.
haha, but it is a proven method which most airbus pilots know how to use
Even better if you're left handed like me. I learned how to use my right hand on joysticks for flight sims and I'm pretty sure that right handed pilots would have an easy time learning how to use their left hand.
lol,most?
Looked like an ILS to me plus whats with the chick nagging him in the background?
its not a ILS its a non precision approach VOR or RNAV to rwy 07 and they usually break off the DME arc once the field is in sight saves time and fuel like they did in this video, i dont think there is even a ILS at Sangster ... that being said the airbus can pretty much make anything look like a ILS it can build its own localizer and glide slope basically lol
Michael Difede The chick isn't nagging. She's the first officer aka co-pilot.
not Jamaica

wHY RUIN WITH A WATER MARK !!!!!!
why do airplanes go so slow ? I love helicopters better they have speed in the air
cauz landing with 900kts dont work very well 😕
lmao, you think a plane is slow? those things cruise over 500mph most of the time. a helicopter does not go anywhere near as fast
They don't. It's just an illusion.
sit down and be humble tf
Wat kan je mooi zingen👎🖕👯
CNt wait to land n Jamaica
