This was a cool version seeing it live , but the studio version is an even different vibe to dance to I agree . Still a great reaction we appreciate it.
Back in the 70's we was not playing when it came to music and dancing!!!!! We were JAMMING all the way. I am now 60 years old and still JAMMING it's in me because I was born and raised during the 60's, 70's and early 80's. What a time to be ALIVE!!!! The 70's was lit af!!!!!
Thanks for this. I saw them when I worked at both the Castaways Wreck Bar and the Swinger Lounge (at the Marco Polo hotel) in N Miami Beach. They put on some great shows. So many great groups came through there. Big names like Lou Rawls, Barry White, Gladys Knight and the Pips, BB King, The Carpenters; every weekend was a new jam. But for pure partying and just plain fun, no one beat this group. This video absolutely captured the experience. Funny thing, looking back now I feel a sense of awe at how great all the music was, but at the time it was just normal. We also were blessed to have the Dinner Key auditorium, Pirates World and the Hollywood Sportatorium where the best rock groups (Doors, Led Zepplin, Creedence Clearwater, Joe Cocker, Allman Brothers and on and on) appeared. What a great time for musical creativity - freely expressed. I am grateful for all the memories.
I was 15 years old when this came out. This live is incredible 👏KC was the man back in the day. They were originally a session band, and Then he made them a group and sang hits after hits.
@@michaelasay8587 I was able to attend a private party where KC was performing when I worked for attorneys. That was awesome! I also was able to see Jo Dee Messina at one of the private parties as well. I would love to meet Gladys knight!
I grew up in the '60s and '70s; we had the best music, hands down!! I played trumpet for 17 years, back in the day, because of amazing musicians like this. Thank you for reacting to them!
The studio versions played during a big scene in Forrest Gump and what they're doing in the movie is locking down the era when disco and partying all night long with disco music was huge.
They were such an amazing band. I was around 12 when this came out. Love everything about this... the horns, back up singers then there was KC. Dancing for all we had in middle school dances lol. I don’t think you got this from the beginning. Need to listen to the studio version. That is how we did the hustle back then.
Hojala sta parejita lea esto fue y dera uno de los mas grandes referentes del festival de viña del mar en chile grandeee Kc the sunshen band for ever mach7🎉❤
Real musicians, playing real music and having a real good tie. No autotune, no bollocks. Funk at its finest. I'm happy I was there. We have nothing like this now and I'm sorry for the kids that missed out on this.
70’s were a great time to be a teenager!! We didn’t have internet, UA-cam, MTV. We had radio and we had some live music tv shows. This video is from one of the tv shows called Don Kirshners Rock Concert. We had Midnight Special, Soul Train, American Bandstand. Aired on the weekends and almost all live music and comedy acts. Loved it!!!
KC's stage shows extended just about every song they had. Where the studio version was about 3 1/2 mins, the stage versions went on for 7 to 10 mins each.
I saw this when it aired along with every live show from Don Kirshner Live! I ur lovin the '70's, see more of Don! Great reaction n I loved K.C.! I'm 62.
That dance they're all doing is called The hustle Every club dancefloor was filled with everyone doing the hustle n The busStop dances😁👋👋👋👋wonderful times had by all
I went to a Earth Wind and Fire/ Chicago concert unbelievable. EW&F may have opened, then Chicago came on but the last hour and a half was the two bands on stage together singing both bands waited for songs together
I'm old enough to have remembered watching that. It was great to see KC left loose and cut loose. I didn't remember him doing that as much before then. Usually he would just dance behind the keyboard.
Back in the day, pre-teen, one wall in my bedroom was covered with pages of him pulled out from my older sisters Tiger Beat. His smile was amazing. But after watching this, all their energy, dancing, singing and whole time holding that smile, I need a nap cuz worn out just watching lol.
K C and the sunshine band made you get up and dance and enjoy hanging fun the seventies had the best music ever and after over 40 years you can still go to the club's and play this song 🎵 and people will get up and dance 💃 🎉1🎉💞💞💞💞💞💞💞🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼
The mid 70's was a blast Friday night was rock parties keg in someone's backyard but Saturday night was disco dress up and dance especially when KC tunes came out everyone danced the ladies never said no to dancing to KC those high school days were the best of times
There are several great KC tunes, but this will always be my favorite. It's truly epic. Get Down Tonight, Boogie Nights by Heatwave, More More More by Andrea True and Car Wash by Rose Royce always make me smile.
This is a lesson from the past. A great band where everybody had fun and nobody cared about the color of the skin.
Well said! 👍👍
Absolutely.golden years n wonderful ppls partying Together👋👋👋😁😁😁
Amen!!!!
Those were the days…
That's the way I remembered it when I grew up in the 70s. We all partied together!
I love how he let's everyone get showcased before he does his thing. Class act, start to finish, even had the cowbell!
All of them are so entertaining. But KC & his energy, & that smile. One if of the best entertainers!
I've seen them live a couple of times. GREAT show!
That's why I love him. He showcase his band.
Gotta have the cowbell.not enough cowbell
Guess this was the start of line dancing.
The coolest thing is this:
All of these classic videos, EVERYONE is playing instruments LIVE.
LOVE IT!
EXACTLY!!!
Hell yeah
The 70’s had some of the greatest music! I love KC & the Sunshine Band.
I think the 70’s had THE BEST music!
Yup, I tell young folks that the best music was from the 70"s!! They all agree!!
I don't know if it's just me or not (😂😂) but K.C and The 🌞 shine band look like they are having the time of there life! Fun group.
This was a cool version seeing it live , but the studio version is an even different vibe to dance to I agree . Still a great reaction we appreciate it.
I'm not sure you'd ever see this today. The artist had the freedom to completely change up the song from the radio version. Fun stuff.
And the talent to pull it off!
THIS is what it was like!! Now I’m 67 but still jamming to good music. Now, if only I still had my 20 something year old body. 😳
😄👏✌🏼
I know what you mean! I'm the same age as you, but I have bad knees!
Great music never gets old!
My church youth group took a trip to a theme park to see K.C. et al perform. He was my very first musical crush and I still enjoy him 41 years later.

Do you notice how happy everyone seems? Just out having a good time.
wow that was really funky
THIS was the ultimate party song in 1976
The middle part of this song is arguably one of the funkiest pieces of music ever written/performed. Disco had some awesome moments.
KC and the Sunshine Band is still doing tours. They just played in Knoxville, TN not too long ago.

Every wedding, every party this was played. Still to this day. Timeless party music. ✌🌻🌻
This group gave us so much Disco music. They were GREAT!!! Talk about partying and dancing til dawn!!! We had so much fun!
This band was so good. So much energy, so much fun, so much love. Great songs, great vibe. Have 'em on my Tunes to this day. Their music is so good.

All band members had a voice in putting the song together.
Band having more fun then the audience. Awesome!
OMG how fun, I remember dancing to this song. So much fun!
Yes!! ❤ Be sure to check out the studio version too. ✌❤
I always loved this song from the time it came out until now-but this live version was a whole new level ! ❤ 😍
The studio versions played during a big scene in Forrest Gump and what they're doing in the movie is locking down the era when disco and partying all night long with disco music was huge.
When I saw them live this is how they jammed. They are one of the coolest bands I ever heard and seen...Party time!!!

Michael I would have loved to seen both groups. You were so lucky to have seen them. 👍👍🥰
Kc and the sunshine band, fabulosos e incombustibles. Los he visto en tres momentos distintos en sus visitas a Chile, a estadio lleno, espectaculares.

The studio version is a lot different and more danceable, this live version would have been great if you were there. Check out the studio or club mix.
I agree. The song is different than the live version.
Yes, it's worth reacting to the studio version as well! A must, actually.
Yeah, the studio version has that great guitar intro that pulls you in.
Facts
Agree, I like the radio version better, but the people at this concert are having an amazing time. They were a great live party band.
KC's stage shows extended just about every song they had. Where the studio version was about 3 1/2 mins, the stage versions went on for 7 to 10 mins each.
Dancing and Loving ❤️ each one Dancing beside you. Making one with the band. I Love ❤️ it. Merci
Straight up having fun! I miss those days man....things weren't so complicated and music could be felt more often than these days
I watched this video about 6 times in the last few days!! Wish Spotify had this version. Love your reactions!
I saw this when it aired along with every live show from Don Kirshner Live! I ur lovin the '70's, see more of Don! Great reaction n I loved K.C.! I'm 62.
Queen of Clubs is another great song by them, loved that at the disco!
You can play "The Hustle" and dance to it the same way, back in the day!!!!!!!!
I’ll put this performance up against any “auto tuned” rap music of today!
That dance they're all doing is called The hustle Every club dancefloor was filled with everyone doing the hustle n The busStop dances😁👋👋👋👋wonderful times had by all
Always loved that he can dance.
I went to a Earth Wind and Fire/ Chicago concert unbelievable. EW&F may have opened, then Chicago came on but the last hour and a half was the two bands on stage together singing both bands waited for songs together
Saw them live at Disney World in 1980 for Grad Night…loved their music with the brass and saxophone.
I'm old enough to have remembered watching that. It was great to see KC left loose and cut loose. I didn't remember him doing that as much before then. Usually he would just dance behind the keyboard.
Im an introvert but i think if I had been at a KC concert irl, id be crowdsurfing man what a vibe
Saw KC in concert, one word FABULOUS!
Another good one by KC and the Sunshine Band is Boogie Shoes "I want to put on my my my boogie shoes and boogie with you"
thanks, kids!..Give it up for KC! he obviously studied and learned those dance moves... and at the end, added a few of his own... lol
these were the cool days. Music, love, Richard Pyror, Motown, Disco
Oh I was in love with KC in 76
I guess after seeing all the reactions that I was lucky to have seen this band in 1977 in Seattle, and they sent us home sweaty and happy!!
So glad you two discovered this great, great band. I’m just sorry I never saw them live. Keep going down that musical rabbit hole!
What athletes as well as performers! All that dancing under those hot lights, but still able to sing and play those brass!
Just wanna say you guys give off a really positive vibe and seem like very wonderful people
Love their vibe.
Holy shit, the '70s and the '80s were fantastic, the people could really DANCE. Not to compare with the shit they're doing on stage nowadays, mostly.
Always love them- one of my favorites
Saw them in concert in 1977. Awesome!!

And that my friend, is how you party and bring the house down in the 70's.
That's music that groove s your soul
2:30am…in my robe in my bathroom and burning a hole in my rug. Haha. Hard to not groove with this! Great reaction! 👍🏼
Back in the day, people couldn't believe that KC was a white guy with the funky groove!
I was a 10 year kid in 1977 and I used to play the hell out of this song! Them Miami cats had mad moves and sound!
This is What KC, & The Sunshine Band Does!! They Made You WANT to Get Up And (( SHAKE )) YO BOOTY!! 🎉

I love this band✌️
I wish you guys were around back then, these guys rocked and the brothers were some of the best horns in the biz!
Can you imagine being there live? How much fun it was.
I so agree. Good music puts us all together in love. Dig that
Damn they are getting down. Love it
Beautiful reaction to feel good music
KC too smooth 😎
Yes, we were the coolest back in the day... It was all a groove.
Black and white all together once and for all.
They are doing the hustle, the original line dance 💃
