I like the Idea more of Garp having had something with a Celestial Dragon. It would explain why Sterry asked him about his connections to the Nobles in Chapter 905 and it explain why Dragon is called Dragon. The secret of Dragon's past would be that he himself was born in Mary Geoise. There he would have seen how cruel the World Nobles really are which motivated him to fight against them someday. And he would have understood pretty early on that they are no Gods but just spoiled people. Maybe he even knows some of the secrets of the world making him "the most wanted man in the world".

From that we get "Monkey D. Dragon": a Monkey D. Family member who has blood of celestial dragon in his veins. This would open a million reasons for Dragon to be what he is. First of all, aren't the celestial dragons supposed to marry only other celestial dragons? If a celestial dragon had a baby who carries the D. in their name, it would surely cause an outrage. I don't think this theory will really work even though it sounds cool for one reason. If Luffys mum was killed because she had a child with a commoner, wouldnt the world government have tried to assainate Luffy on numerous occasions? They clearly know Luffy is Garps grandson and Dragon is Garps son. The only scenario I could think of is that Luffys mum died during childbirth and the world government are unaware about him. But I don't think Oda would use the same death for Ace mum on Luffy as well. Seems pretty weak.
Dragon could have faked Luffys death at that point and the world government thinks it's another child. Not very strong argument but it could have happened
I think something else that gets implied here is that if Luffy’s mom is a Celstial Dragon, then he is kind of in a spot of 2 conflicting bloodlines. The entire fiasco with whatever happened with the D clan that is bound to end the ruling power of the world and those lines get mixed in with Luffy. Something to think about for the future that Luffy might end up making if the theory holds true.

The way I interpreted that info provided in the Vivre Card, is that whatever the secret is, it's a bit more sinister. Because I think the implementation in saying " even if his subordinates learned the truth, they'd still follow him without a doubt", is supposed to be that his secret would make his motives and/or character very questionable to the average person. To the point where you could understand why anyone might choose to not follow him.

I like this theory a lot. What if the reason the celestial turned against Luffy’s mom wasn’t because she had a kid with a commoner but instead that she had a kid with a D clan person. Luffy is the Song of Celestial and Devil. The King that was promised.

I feel Dragon being a Celestial Dragon makes more sense, as in Luffy's grandma was a Celestial Dragon. Garp seems distant from Dragon, and that could be due to Dragon being raised in Marījoa for his childhood. Then, at some point Dragon was tossed aside/left in disgust, leading him down a path to being a revolutionary.
It might take them a while for that mother-son bond to blossom. Because despite what fiction might tell you, if a child and parent are separated for a long period of time, the bond between them doesn’t tend to be a very strong one...at least at the start. We’ve already seen that with Luffy’s feelings about Dragon. He not too bothered about knowing Dragon is his father because he wasn’t involved in Luffy’s upbringing. I don’t highly doubt that Luffy’s parents love him (even if Dragon shows it in his own way) but Luffy’s shown he more concerned about moving forward with his life, regardless of knowing his entire lineage or not.

I actually made a comment on one of your earlier videos about this. Saying that, this may be the reason dragon turned on the navy. I've been watching One piece over and over again since it's been out. I read everything as well. Love the videos btw. I'm 27 years old, and as i grew I started noticing subtle hints.
Maybe Luffy's mother really was a Celestial Dragon and she had the Storm-Storm fruit and she died in Dragon's arms and had carried a fruit with her specifically for that purpose and told him to eat the fruit. Or she just gave it to him to help him in overthrowing the World Government and then they killed her for it. Or since they seem to love their slaves I could see her still being captive and that could be the real reason Dragon attacked Reverie. He'd finally amassed enough manpower to get her back.
Just as you stated, I think Luffys mom is a noble, but what if she is Imu-sama? Maybe Imu-sama has a mind mind fruit and he/she took over Luffys moms body because of the changes she wanted to make. This way it would explain how Imu-sama would be still alive now, if he/she was from the void century and from the siluette you can't tell the gender. This would also give Dragon a more important reason to take out the world nobles in order to get to Imu-sama and maybe get his lover back

The way I interpreted that info provided in the Vivre Card, is that whatever the secret is, it's a bit more sinister. Because I think the implementation in saying " even if his subordinates learned the truth, they'd still follow him without a doubt", is supposed to be that his secret would make his motives and/or character very questionable to the average person. To the point where you could understand why anyone might choose to not follow him.
I can see Oda pulling a complete twist and make Dragon having been a Slave of the Celistial Dragons.

An addition to the Tekking, maybe when the Celestial Dragons shot down Luffy's mom maybe they made it public but blamed Dragon for doing it that's why Dragon is feared by the Marines because they made him appear to have 'killed' a Celestial Dragon. Also, probably another reason why he is the World's Most Wanted Man.

I like this theory a lot. What if the reason the celestial turned against Luffy’s mom wasn’t because she had a kid with a commoner but instead that she had a kid with a D clan person. Luffy is the Song of Celestial and Devil. The King that was promised.
Maybe she was killed because a child from a world noble and a D clan member would be too powerful, but they killed her after Luffy was born.

@@saylaur True enough, but from what I know about crocodiles there are places that they can find which are more comfortable for them then the underside of a bed where they are certain to be disturbed. Not much food for them either unless Tekking takes a nap and it gets hungry which is a result I don't really want to think of. Then of course there is the matter of how it got under the bed since I imagine that it is not similar to the case of the kid who let a giant fire-breathing spider into his teachers swimming pool again. Though in that case he did state that the spider looks very happy there although that would be liable to change when the teacher decided to have company over so it needed to be removed ASAN. Still I suppose there are worse things that could be lurking under a bed.

Oda probably keeps on getting mad at tekking for figureing out what he is planning.
I feel Dragon being a Celestial Dragon makes more sense, as in Luffy's grandma was a Celestial Dragon.
Garp seems distant from Dragon, and that could be due to Dragon being raised in Marījoa for his childhood.
Then, at some point Dragon was tossed aside/left in disgust, leading him down a path to being a revolutionary.
I hope Luffy's mom is not dead(even thou she most likely dead). Luffy needs to bond with his mother and have that mother-son bond.

It might take them a while for that mother-son bond to blossom. Because despite what fiction might tell you, if a child and parent are separated for a long period of time, the bond between them doesn’t tend to be a very strong one...at least at the start. We’ve already seen that with Luffy’s feelings about Dragon. He not too bothered about knowing Dragon is his father because he wasn’t involved in Luffy’s upbringing.
I don’t highly doubt that Luffy’s parents love him (even if Dragon shows it in his own way) but Luffy’s shown he more concerned about moving forward with his life, regardless of knowing his entire lineage or not.

Is seems weird to me because Garp is probably the most famous Marine in the world and in the real world think about a how much a celebrity's love life is in media so if Garp was married or dated a woman at any point in his career as a Marine the newspapers would most likely print about it.

I actually made a comment on one of your earlier videos about this. Saying that, this may be the reason dragon turned on the navy. I've been watching One piece over and over again since it's been out. I read everything as well. Love the videos btw. I'm 27 years old, and as i grew I started noticing subtle hints.
Maybe Luffy's mother really was a Celestial Dragon and she had the Storm-Storm fruit and she died in Dragon's arms and had carried a fruit with her specifically for that purpose and told him to eat the fruit. Or she just gave it to him to help him in overthrowing the World Government and then they killed her for it. Or since they seem to love their slaves I could see her still being captive and that could be the real reason Dragon attacked Reverie. He'd finally amassed enough manpower to get her back.

Just as you stated, I think Luffys mom is a noble, but what if she is Imu-sama? Maybe Imu-sama has a mind mind fruit and he/she took over Luffys moms body because of the changes she wanted to make. This way it would explain how Imu-sama would be still alive now, if he/she was from the void century and from the siluette you can't tell the gender. This would also give Dragon a more important reason to take out the world nobles in order to get to Imu-sama and maybe get his lover back
