My question is if they are “humanitarians” why don’t they provide help; water, food and medical if needed and take them back to shore. I watched another documentary and clearly the Italian immigration pointed out that one of the migrants was the smuggler that had been caught in the same “rescue” mission 3 times and said he comes with your help, collects the money and leaves! they're rescuing them about 2 miles from Libyan coast and taking them 200 miles to europe.
No nation is willing to take that risk (Lybia is a warzone) and it would cause a diplomatic conflict with the new government there, which the West is trying to get friendly with. There's also the logistical problem - they would just not want to leave the ship, and those ships are not landing crafts, they can't come all the way to the beach.

I have seen this it is shocking but they do know the challenges, I hate seeing families with babies ,and that is the problem no one is stopping them .
Most refugees are from poverty-stricken or war-torn countries, faced with the most difficult situations and so they choose this dangerous way out, taking a chance or a gamble to reach Europe and hopefully have better opportunities in life. Meanwhile, host countries are beginning to feel the burden of giving support and help while at the same grappling with the effects of a worldwide economic crises. It is a very sad story that we can only watch from afar.
