my dad has a 2004 phaeton with a relatively similar spec to this and I have to say it never fails to amaze me for the level of opulence it offers and it cost him 3k. Bought my 1 owner 2003 760li for 2500 and was absolutly one of the best cars I've ever owned. It had the typical oil leak and right rear airbag light. I replaced the electric fan and and the fuel filter located under the driver side. The car had 100k miles on it. It was a rocketship.The person I bought it from had just recieved an offer from carmax for 1300$. He declined and that's when i quickly offered a crisp 2500.
V12 does sound the bollocks mate, but I can't help thinking the poor Zed is sat there and saying "bastard can pay 40 quid for a piece of black plastic on a bumper, but can't fix my aeriel" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Good video mate. The wife and I always stream em to the TV when I get the notification.
sold my 760Li import from japan last year had 36k on the clock, none of the cigeratte / chargers worked from day one. All fuses were checked ,then relays, then the power module.. it was CAS module in the end.. which is about £1500 to replace just to get them working,,such a complex car, i still miss it
Water on the rear floor will be the sunroof drain blocked. Can fix by blowing compressed air or long piece of wire down to unblock. Sunroof has 4 drain points one in each corner.
I would encourage you to purchase your own diagnostical equipment, and tools, and get down and dirty with inspections and repairs yourself Joel. It adds so much more to the experience to work on your own vehicles yourself.
Hey, Joel! I am a BMW v12 enthusiast have had 2 in the past, love them. I wonder though, are you going to restore your car to original? I mean, those rims are not standard 760Li rims. Not that they look bad, just not the correct rims.
Those mechanics are like fairy tales beeing so honest about the problems. Also the exhaust sound does do the V12 justice. You just cant find something like that, this cheap. What a car.
Had an E36 M3 Convertible. Floor got saturated. I got some fence wire or a coat hanger ( can't remember now, something anyway) and poked and poked the drain holes which got through the crud which was blocking them and bingo!.... no more wet floor!
Ah when you accelerated off M3 north onto the M25 at Chertsey that is local to me and know that bend - held the bend well. Don’t care about 15 mpg as don’t do the miles now, smile miles👌
Picking up a 2015 760li (6ltr not the newer 6.6) on Saturday and I would like a more throaty exhaust note. How would you rate the straight pipes after longer use and did you have to get them custom made?
Take the plugs out of the amp wd 40 the plugs and amp sockets that will stop the crackle ! It used to do the same in my X5 pro logic 7 ! Wd40 cured the crackling in the speaker 🔊
I own a 2007 760Li with only 4,800 miles…I am second owner & it’s a wonderful car still smells new. Probably own the only one in US with the lowest miles.
Despite our vast age difference, I enjoy these videos, partly because I have always loved BMWs, even my current diesel estate, although the best have always been the big sixes. The straight sixes have also always been the most reliable. Toying with a Z4 when funds allow. The 760 is interesting from the engine and interior luxury point of view but the car exterior has to rank as one of the ugliest BMWs built up to that time, which is why they depreciated so fast. The latest BMW Ix3 has now won that crown. To their credit BMW was never afraid to experiment and the E36, E38, E39 and E46 were all attractive cars As was the E31 8 series. The Z4 is a really pretty car and vastly better than the Z3. How about stepping back in time and trying an 8 series or an E46 M3 next? The 7 series was always tricky for BMW even the stellar E38 because a maker of sporty cars was trying to compete with The exceptional if unsporty S class and the technically good but spectacularly dull Audi A8.
I really want to buy one of these. Tell me?? power or the sensation of speed is the deciding factor when I buy a car. How does this cars engine pull??? Like a 335i?? Slower feeling?? I’ll buy one in a heartbeat if you guys tell me it pulls HARD.
@@ChillDrive A 760 isnt bad on fuel for what it is, but lets just say the 760 consumes way more than an 325i if they are both working correctly, and driven in the same way.
Joel first glad you've got the lady back and what a result on the repairs. However, you've spoilt the very ethos of this magnificent carriage... By "straight piping" the exhaust. These cars are meant to be subtle, discreet, stealth like with their power, the exhaust note is none of these; plus that constant drone will become tiresome, and you've already acknowledged that, putting it into "Sports" mode. Still a great purchase Joel enjoy the ownership of your BMW 760 Li.
Each to their own of course. I agree it does ruin the ethos of the car, but for me that creates interesting content for UA-cam and it is pretty hilarious. I still have the stock system remember and so will be able to revert back to standard

Its like watching someone who shares my brain, in the last few years i have gone down exactly the same route in both the 7 series and the Range Rover, if only i had the channel to help with some of the bill i had!! lol
@@kickinballistics An engine oil analysis checks the oil for contaminates that may be the result of excessive bearing wear, coolant in oil, deterioration of oil detergents, loss viscosity and other particles that indicate internal wear. Any of the above are indicators of potential engine failure and knowing the state of your lubricating system can save you lots of money in the future.
@@prontopac thanks, that’s interesting. May consider that. I have an N63TU that runs well, but it wouldn’t hurt to checks its oil. I’ll ask my mechanic to take a sample at the next oil change. Never heard of such a test in all my years.
Great vid Joel, glad you finally sorted the coolant loss issue, my guys tried twice and couldn't diagnose it. I'm guessing Jay Emm must have sorted the niggle I had where a load of drips poured into the boot when opened in the wet. Seemed like a dirty seal or something. She's looking fantastic, love the plates.

Hey Kevin, thanks for the tip! Did try this to no avail, and then ordered and installed a replacement, however this didn’t fix the issue. So most probably something with the wiring!
@@itsjoel Had the exact same problem on my 2006 730d. Front centre left sensor same as yours. It's the actual connector that was the problem. Bought a connector from ebay. Wired it up and sorted the problem.
I’m only 20 and I wouldn’t dare trying to get insured on a nice car 😖 can’t even find good insurance, should do a video on insurance prices!! Especially for those who live in scummy areas like me
Insurance is so cheap on these, because it’s very unusual for young drivers to be driving one. Think mine is about £800 for the year, and I live in a london postcode!
15mpg Is amazing for a v12, the S3 8p is a 2L and averages 20-24 😂😂😂34mpg was best I ever got at 55mph behind a truck amd 9mpg round town...amazing fun though

The cause of the water ingress in the rear passenger foot well is the drains of the sunroof being clogged up. I had the same problem on a 07 750Li.
