    This is a solid review. Did have a few questions. Maybe i missed it, but did you use the reflex option or did you pass?
    Was there enough room in the battery bay to go bigger than the 6s 4000mAh to a five or six thousand?
    Ty very much

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  2 роки тому +1

      Reflex bypassed. Need a 7 channel or more to control 6 channels and toggle Gyro modes.
      Enough room to run 5000, however you want to run a lipo 630-660 or less. I ran a Roaring Top 4400 (700g) and few normal weight 5000 (750-800).Added mah was minimal on extended flight time cause the added weight and extra throttle/power needed to carry weight.Also couldnt push battery aft enough on the 798g lipo to get balance (extreme nose heavy). So if you can get 6s 5000 in that 630-660 range,that maybe worth trying,but a lightweight 4000 kept the plane more dynamically stable and better performance all around.

      I always fly mine on a 5000 100c spektrum about 700g. Pushed right back almost riding the foam. Seems fine. 3.5mins mixed to hard throttle and land with 30-40% left

      @@M4rkmcc21 Spektrum 6s 5000 100c weights 723g. I mentioned to another ,i would keep it in the 650-725g range.So that falls in that ranger as well. Thanks for adding feedback/details on 5000.

    BD, when setting up rates and the instruction manual gives them in millimeters vs. percentages, how do you equate mm's to a percentage in your radio (I am using an NX-10)? I don't always want to pull out the throw meter and spend a lot of time measuring control surfaces. That time could be spent flying. 🙂

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  2 роки тому +1

      When planes have different throws on same percentage its hard to give a value. However you get use to what works based upon travel and surface control size/type.I have found really good settings for maiden flights. After maiden i can adjust according. Normally 2-3 flights and everything dialed in everything.

    If you could keep only one between the Viper 90 and this one, which one would it be?

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  2 роки тому

      Viper 90 is newer electronics,high performance and does it all. Hawk is great value,plenty of performance and compact. Both have benefits. Hawk and Viper are in 2 different classes when it comes to comparing directly. End of the day both nice jets and worth having cause different than each other.

    My FMS 80mm BAE Hawk arrived yesterday, but the box said P40B on the end. Sure enough, that’s what was in it..

      @@BDTennessee I got the maiden flight on my 80mm FMS BAE Hawk done today before the rain hit. I put a Spektrum AR637TA in it and have my usual low rates, high rates, and SAFE mode on switch B with AS3X on in all three positions. I used an HRB 5000mAh-6S-50C battery and landed with 3.9 volts/cell after 2-1/2 minutes. The screws that came with mine barely had any threads and were smaller than 3mm. Fortunately, I have various assortments from RTL Fasteners..

      Depends on the weight.Id run 675 grams or less battery weight. SMC 4400 is good balance.

    Stew-ped Question, being the Futura and this BAE-Hawk are basically the same, do you prefer one over the other??? why??

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  2 роки тому +1

      I havent go to fly the new V3. Comparing the v2 vs Hawk,id go with Hawk. Red easier to see,prefer handling better, all gears are hidden when retracted ,and i like the Red Arrow scheme.
      Best would be Hawk with new 2000kv v3 motor :D

    • @redwineisfine
      @redwineisfine 2 роки тому +1

      @@BDTennessee both are red with the 2000kv .. so then its just appearance of a BAE-HAWK design over the bland futura look then right?

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  2 роки тому +1

      @@redwineisfine so should have compared the hawk and v3 as well. Hawk has been updated and listing isnt correct. Hawk is manufactured with a 3280-2100kv and the 2000kv (3280) it came with before is different than the Futura v3. Futura v3 comes with 3665-2000kv.
      Comparing Hawk vs Futura v3. Hawk feels more scale and stable.Futura is more agile (fast roll etc) and aggressive flyer. Futura new edf suppose to be better output and more "turbine like" sound. As you mentioned,both being red easy to see. Futura has contrast and Hawk is basically red with accents. Both would be good for visibility.
