I almost CRASH my new Avanti S V2 on Maiden Flight

- Today, I performed the maiden flight of my new Freewing Avanti S 80mm V2 and almost lost it on the second flight due to loss of orientation. Luckily, I was able to maneuver the aircraft and save it from crash.
This new Avanti S V2 is a superb aircraft and certainly has improved in all aspects. Don't get fooled by her beautiful new paint design. She'll disappear in the blue sky in a heartbeat. Having the bottom of the plane painted in military grey won't help with visibility. Other than that, the plane is a beautiful flying machine, and it rapidly became my favorite plane in my hangar...

Nice recovery and 3 very good, no-bounce landings. :) I sometimes lose orientation with my Avanti V1 or my Freewing L39 with the white paint scheme with cloudy skies so I know that feeling. :)

It happened to me again with my new Freewing F-18 Hornet Blue Angels 90mm but not as dramatic as this one... That plane disappears in the sky quickly... Hey guys. Put the xfly 80mm fan with 2200 motor and 120/130 esc of your choice. Amazing sound, big improvement in speed and thrust

@bennyeyeballs880 Thank you for visiting my channel and leaving your question...😁 I installed two of them deep inside the exhaust tube. I glued one to the Rudder/elevator assembly before installing it in the fuselage, and the other one is about the same location glued to the actual exhaust canal. I glued then before installing the Rudder/ elevator assembly so I was able to install them deep inside the exhaust. I only use two of the three whistles that the Nerf football comes with, the smallest one on the tail assembly and the medium one to the actual exhaust pipe. Good luck with your new plane when you get it.

Great flying and most importantly great save! This is where safe can save your bird, but there are just some people who would rather do the walk of shame with that big black plastic bag😮 not this guy. Again great save🎉

You have no idea how much I wished I had SAFE enabled in my plane when that situation happened to me! 😱 SAFE would've helped me to get out of that situation right away, but lamentably, I haven't learned how to program my spektrum receiver for SAFE yet🤦🏾♂️. My receiver only has AS3X enabled... I need to learn how to enable SAFE for sure... That will be my next project 🙏😊...

Hola Ricky Ricardo, pues que genial vídeo nuevamente. "Conchesumadre" (se diría en Chile)... hasta yo me puse nervioso con esa pérdida de orientación... pensé que ya estaba en el suelo, pues bien que has tenido bastante altura. Lindos vuelos también con la Viper 90. Cómo anda ésta Avanti en comparación a la Viper 90 de FMS? Me gustan ambos jets y en los próximos meses quizás me adjudico alguno de esos dos. La Avanti me costaría bastante menos, como unos 400 dolares en vez de los 550 de la Viper. Claro el tamano y el color de la Viper me gustan bastante, pero nunca la he visto en vivo. Aquí en Alemania no está. Lo importante es que el empuje sea bastante fuerte y que pueda despegar rápido pues tenemos un pasto no muy perfecto en nuestra pista, pero creo que ambos modelos podrían volar bien aquí.... Que tengas un lindo fin de semana en Arizona (muy linda vuestra pista!)

El Viper es un poco más grande y usa una turbina eléctrica más grande. Con cualquiera de los dos jets quedarás muy satisfecho. La verdad que no te sabría decir si esos jets son buenos para pistas de pasto, pero creo que si el pasto está bien recortadito, vas a estar bien...

Hola Ricky@@ricardopr54 ! Me imagino que ambos son geniales :) Un amigo también está interesado en la Futura 80 que al parecer es un pelito más rápida que la Avanti. Yo ta estaba esperando el sonido del avión estrellandose contra el suelo x que lo perdí de Vista detras de la línea de arboles, y de repente lo vi subir y seguir volando como si nada hubiera sucedido...entonces me dije a mi mismo, eso fue un milagro, y lo segui volando normalmente en lo q pasaba el susto. Luego de eso ya me lo traje para aterrizar...Aun yo mismo no puedo creer q eso hubiera sucedido, y q ni un raspasito le sucedió al avion... Yo estoy muy agradecido con Diosito x permitirme disfrutarlo un ratito mas...😊

Nice video and thank god for the great save :-) How would you compare the Avanti S V2 to the Viper 90 with regards to visibility in the sky, flight behaviour and flight speed ?
I happen to own both jets, and the Avanti S V2 is definitely faster. Check out the speed test videos of both planes in my channel... My Viper is the Non-USA Version from FMS and it is definitely way more visible than this new Avanti V2... The problem with the Avanti is that you can easily lose orientation and not knowing which side is up or down at certain moment. That's what happened to me on this video... Both jets are a beauty to fly. They both have great slow speed handling , but the Viper will abruptly stall and drop a wing on turns if you don't keep your speed up... @PatrickVannie Thanks for visiting my channel again, Patrick... The F-22 is a completely different beast... I would say that it is my favorite between the three. I haven't done a speed test with my F22 yet, but I'll be working on that soon!... Of the three, I think that the Avanti is the easiest to fly, followed by the Viper then the F-22... Don't take me wrong, the F-22 is a beauty to fly, but it is an old still popular plane with some old school technology... The F-22 fights great. It is fast and sometimes behaves like a trainer aircraft... I like them all, but the Avanti V2 is the cheapest of the three and includes reverse thrust...
It is hard to pick a favorite, but the Avanti V2 is the best bang for the buck 😊 Have a great rest of your night 🌙

Txt day, I was lucky that I was able to save my brand new jet from disaster. You have no idea how much I wished my plane had SAFE enabled at that very moment, but I don't know how to program it, so my plane only has AS3X stabilization enabled...

How long have you been flying? I'm going to guess about 6 months ? I'm fairly new... 3 years for me. Self taught. My new Avanti is due in a few days... can't wait.

You can check my channel again and scroll back 10 years to my very beginnings when I was learning to fly with an Eflite Apprentice, not the S one, but the one without AS3X... Shortly after, AS3X came into the game, and I upgraded to the Apprentice S with SAFE technology... It's been a long learning journey, but guess what, in this hobby, you always learn something new... Even the "experts" crash every now and then...That's the "Dark side" of our hobby...😊

Y comprendo lo qu dices del SAFE. Eso de la orientación me esta pasando tambie´n. Los ojos no mejoran con el tiempo y el nerviosismo también juega en contra aveces. Aquí tenemos bosques alrededor. Los colegas dice que tienen los Arboles saltantes, saltan cuando pasas cerca y les gusta acariciar aviones de modelo xD jajajaj
En Octubre me han demolido mi E-Flite Draco. Claro, fue mi error porque había poca luz y pensé que ya había cruzado el bosque... Así que a arreglarla y quizás venderla, Me gustaría una Bushmaster de 81" o quizas una usada mas grande también... He comenzado a volar con aviones STOL y me siguen gustando también :)
Yes it was very Stupid of FW to paint the plane Grey when all along they advertise it as White. Its even on the box picture when you receive it.. but then open the box and its Grey WTF.
Had I known it was Grey I would not have bought this plane.

Although, if you install a receiver with SAFE in it, you can at least have peace of mind that at the first sign of losing orientation, you can enable SAFE and literally save your plane from disaster...😁 That's what I did recently. At the time of this flight, I didn't know how to enable SAFE in my receiver.
