HOAs are not the government they don't have the right of eminent domain not to mention it doesn't happen over night. There is paperwork hearings and such and still they would have to pay 'OP' for the property before starting work
Clearly this HOA president didn't get the memo.
He thought once a road was there it would be hard to remove, not realising that now the entire HOA will be paying for the lawsuit and restoration of the land, and likely will be both voting him out, and also suing him for all those costs, as they likely will be bankrupt because of this. Him being in prison would be the safest bet, as likely there would be a lynch mob looking to tar and feather him.
@@nickislade5533 they use the law when it benefits them and the fact that while what they put into thier rules and such might not be legal you have to fight them in court to get it over ruled
@@SeanBZA maybe also there is the planning that would be required to connect a road to almost any other road such as a freeway/ highway that's not county level planning and approval but in the US state/ federal

On the last story the granddaughter ought to have filed charges for assault with the police, her scars and the neighbors testimony should be enough evidence, then asked the courts to put the grandmother in a conservatorship for mental illness (she is obviously disconnected from reality). Having a court assigned stranger be the ultimate authority in her life would do the old woman some good, or at least give the family some peace.

Last story, IF I had ever had a family member like that, as soon as she demanded the keys to the house, I would have screamed at the top of my lungs, "Get your damn voodoo out of my house this instance, you old witch. I do not want your witch craft anywhere near me ever again. Your damn spells do not work on me any more." IF anyone was close enough, and she did not have a heart attack on the spot, she would never return to that house. Of course the op would never be allowed in her home either. If any family member bothered to ask, I would have said "I used the B word when she tried to steal my home and belongings. The rest was her imagination. I don't care what she says, I am not her property and I will never be her slave."

First story. Yeah... No. If a work crew invades your land, you don't make an appointment with a lawyer. You call the police to have them trespassed. Then you sue for damages. That story is almost the same as "HOA built a parking lot on my land". I think these stories are just made up for amusement -- but they don't amuse if they are so unrealistic.
Oh, I'm sure most of these "entitled people" stories are pure fiction. Some of them are quite entertaining, though.

The first story, I don't get why the FIRST, IMMEDIATE reaction wasn't to call the police (or, I guess, sheriff), have the construction workers arrested, work stopped. (At FIRST they were innocent, but completely ignoring the owner and his wishes, pushing through on what is now clearly illegal work, that's time for arrests all around).

The first story is a load of c***p. The county would never repair this kind of damage to private property that it was not involved in committing.
