- Wangan Midnight street-racing anime series character supercut, featuring Kei Aizawa. After receiving extensive tuning from a group of expert tuners that were friends of his late father (who was one of the fastest racers in his day), Kei's JZA80 Toyota Supra is packing 800BHP with a lightened frame. The preparations are finally complete and he is ready to face off against Tatsuya Shima's legendary "Blackbird" Porsche 964 and Akio Asakura's "Devil Z" S30 Datsun 240Z. Reina's R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R is also running with the pack, as usual. Kei has sacrificed everything to follow in the footsteps of his father, the "Ultimate Demon Runner." The outcome of this race will decide the fate of Kei Aizawa, and whether his father's hopes for his son will be fulfilled.

I love Kei's arc the most because he didn't quit racing. He got both a stable life and a life of racing
Kei is my fav WM character as well. I think a lot of car guys can probably relate to him. He didn't give up on his heart's desire to tune and race even though his friends left racing and tried to get him to leave as well. I think a lot of guys wish they had that determination but they just end up letting the riptide of life pull them away from their dreams.

多分ケイの親父ならこのスープラがワントライ仕様と1週間で見抜いて、チューナー達に連絡するかバトルしない選択肢を取れたんだろうな。
でもケイは親父と違うからこそバトルした。スープラのボディが歪んだお陰で親父と違う生き方に気づくことができた。
It’s funny how many times you see that red Miata if you look for it. Guess Suetsugu likes cruising on Wangan with Nao.
The ones I keep noticing are - Mitsubishi GTO, M-B E-klasse W210, Toyota Celsior.
Also that green Chevrolet Astro van and the pink Honda Fit
This one scene where he finally let’s off the gas is one of the most emotional parts of the anime for me.

The more time passes, the more it feels like Akio knew something was wrong with the Supra's rear. Now it appears it was done on purpose.
They did. Takagi built the body to "die". They didn't want Kei suffering the same fate as his dad.

The supra was faster then the other cars by some bit, but unstable and dangerous.
A powerful car that is unstable and uncontrollable is a slow car. It doesn't matter if it has a bunch of power if that power can't be used well.

2 things: 1) I love when they blow past cop cars and nothing happens. It’s so entertaining to watch. 2) they talk about how crazy and impressive their race is but the gtr has stayed in watching distance the entire time😂

It's a myth btw, the cops would plant moles and undercover agents into various PA across the Shutokou Expressway, once they got enough evidence to nail you they will eventually knock on your door.

The supra is so beautiful it makes me wanna remake the supra in other racing games
All cars in this anime are nicely done. Their wheel pairings and fitment are just 👌. Not to mention, the black front splitter on some of them.

It has 800hp so it the fastest for sure when you got it under control but it’s probably at least as hard to drive as Akios Z

Apparently, the tuners who were buddies with the Supra driver’s dad deliberately prepped the car so he won’t keep racing dangerously and end up like his old man.
@@alstound the guy’s dad didn’t even die in a racing accident, they said it was a drunk driver and while going less than 50kph. I can see where they were going but a bit bizarre.
@@nichtgefunden404 pretty sure the point was to teach him to fear death, guys like Blackbird and Z do not put fear of death or losing infront of winning the race and going fast which is why they wanted to see if he really could chase 300kmph and still make it through. Also the fact that he was racing only for his dad's memories instead of actually wanting to go that fast so getting him into that mess made him finally realise he didn't have what he needed to go that fast on public roads

公道を安全に走るという目線を狂気にあわせて見せて訴えかけてくるのかも。
でもこの麻薬のような狂気を否定もしきれない。結局使うのは人なのだから

Kei's story will always be close to me. I watched this during a really hard time and it just made me feel like everything was going to work out as long as I just focused. Really love this anime.

Ye at first i wondered was that an error in the anime or did the supra just went unbelievable mode and started driving without spinning its tires
You can see wheels stop spinning in many parts but in this specific it is too long, and btw have you seen car wheels turn in the anime it looks like they had some problem with animating wheels
kinda sucks how the bodykit that kei uses on his supra isnt an actual bodykit

@@jereenmoniislam8118 the creators of wangan midnight tend to make custom kits, the front bumper probably is custom. even if you search up MK4 supra lips, they got lips but they're not accurate. skirts and wing are TRD yes, the rims aren't TE37's definitely. 7:15 you can see the wheels due to an animation error and they're more slender and spiky than TE's

Why he made the Supra structure flexible enough to tackle the 800 BHP 2JZ engine and reach 330 kph but not thinking the harsh environment of the Shutoku C1 loop?
I didn’t get it as well, so watched these few full episodes with Kei in the beginning for multiple times and finally found out that the tuner masters didn’t want Kei to end up like his father, chasing a meaningless 300kmh speed, so they taught him a lesson and tune his car but made the car body that would crumple after an approximate week of 800hp abuse just enough time to practice and race Blackbird and Z, the car could definitely take C1 loop and wangan but not for long until the chassis starts to destroy itself so Kei would learn the meaning of losing his life to loved ones.

@@davidckj1 yep, they thought him to lead a stable life. They thought him that one can still lead a happy and a stable life despite being obsessed with cars. They thought him to have a balance between cars and real life, without sacrificing one for the other.

180sx( s13 hatch), rx7, Supra, Integra or any fastback JDM cars from the late 80's ~mid 90's were notoriously prone to material fatigue under high torsion load. 9 out of 10 tuners of that era would suggest owners to reinforce the rear hatch modules with strut bars and links, 4 point cage or even double stitch spot welding to rectify the flexing issues first before moving on to a mild boost up tune.

That's a possibility, strategically weakening a few points of the car.

Nobody won is what Kitami was explaining,When Kei's heart stalled,There was no longer a race to be won and at the same moment they all realized that. That's why they all quit racing when Kei slowed down.

What went technically wrong with Supra
it's pretty fast but it's uncontrolled, to be honest I wouldn't go with this car at all, even if it's fast, it's not a good idea to have a car out of control in a place like this
@@lazy_kley3238 its perfectly controllable with a capable enough driver but the tuners wanted the driver to give up racing so they built the chassis to fail.

The chassis and body, it died out. The tuners did that on purpose to teach Kei a lesson in how it feels lose everything in persuit of speed and not to end up like his old man.

I still prefer touge over highway racing because of the technique and skills needed for it (its more fun, and you can fight with quality difference and still win, its not a "who has the highest top speed race"), and also because you most certainly wont die from a single crash lol

I love how almost every crash in wangan midnight can't be corrected because they only know how to drive in a straight line. (no offense)
It's really difficult to correct an oversteer/understeer at very high speeds, especially during a moment of immediate grip loss
try doing a course correction at 320kmph+ in a car never made with those speeds in mind. It already is a struggle to go through tighter turns in modern sports cars at 200kmph, an older car like Supra acting up at 300kmph is no joke to control. Anyone who drives knows that well and I can tell that you don't
