The Swedish MREs really should contain a tin of Surströmming for if the troops run out of ammo they just crack the tin open and throw like a grenade and watch the enemy retreat in disgust.

I worked for a Swedish company for 10 years and got to meet and work with a lot of people from Sweden. From them I learned about Zalt which was an experience because I like licorice but having it crusted in salt was very different.
emmymadeinjapan I forgot to mention that when I stumbled upon Gallows Walk in your video about your trip to Maine, I was expecting a much more threatening and sadder melody. I am very pleasantly surprised! 😘😺
Sweden seems like such an otherworldly place that spoils their citizens in the best way possible! I mean, being American, everything I've seen that Sweden does for their people is absolutely incredible. We could probably learn a thing or two!
Sierra T Yes, though usually not initially for english speakers. Paradoxically the fact the we swedes speak such bloody awesome english is good in the beginning, but can be a huge obstacle in learning swedish properly in case staying long term is a thing. If you are only touristing or maybe have a job in an international company and want to make a year of it, then no worries. Most swedes have more than basic conversational skill in english.
the reason why there are English instructions is that the ration packs are made by a civilian company that also supplies England and Ireland with their combat Ration packs as well as making camping and trekking food for the civilian market.
+Kenneth Donnelly You may be right but I believe that isn't the whole truth. The three "big" meals that was in this pack are made by "Blå Band" (Blue Ribbon) wich is a swedish eatables company that makes a lot of different stuff. All of those meals had english "titles" and i really doubt that they deliver products to other armys in the world. It is very common nowadays to find snacks and food with english names in the swedish grocery stores. Another reason for having names and instructions in english may be if you have joint operations with outfits from other countries and they share food supplies.
+kennysandhoj if you look at any of the English ration pack videos you will see the same products in them and the English army does its cold weather training in Norway.
+kennysandhoj it's not really the UK does not make its own ration packs the same with Ireland they buy in commercial and commission other companies to make products for them it's cheaper then using local companies and then just assemble the packs and ship out to the troops.
It's very interesting that all of the meals were dehydrated. No heat required. Pretty cool. Since I've discovered your Chanel on UA-cam (I've been following you on Facebook for over a year) my husband and I can't get enough of watching you unbox MREs. It's fascinating. Thanks for all you do! 👍😄

I love watching your ration meal reviews! Makes me want to try them. Also, this might be kind of random, but your skin always looks so smooth and healthy! Are you wearing foundation or BB cream or something? If so, what is it? :)
+Xylius Schaaij Oh, I never said I disliked it. I was just saying that my mole shows through my foundation, so it's possible that Emmy's moles can also show through makeup. Just because you can see moles, it doesn't mean someone isn't wearing makeup, because mine shows through makeup. That's what I meant. :)
+EvaValenti (ember-snow) I actually wipe my makeup off of my favorite mole on my face with a qtip or corner of a towel, even though I only wear light bb cream most of the time. She could be doing that too.
I swear even though I may have JUST have eaten a 7 course meal and the Emmy posts an MRE or food video and goes “mmmmmm” and I’m starving and salivating 😂😂😂😂😂
Nötkräm is more like candy in Sweden we eat it like candy like rip of the corner and sock on it I love it when I'm going on a road trip I buy like 8 of them and eat them along the way You can buy them every where like at a gas station or a grocery store
That nut cream was originally marketed as a nutellaesque product, however kids instead tore off the edge and just ate the cream straight, eventually the company gave up and now you can only find those small packets in the candy aisle
Emmy should thank you for this beautiful comment, but she doesn't seem to care enough about her fans to even put a like, or comment to anyone. That to me is a very selfish act. So I'm going to let you know that your comment is extremely kind, youcwent out of your way to respectfully tell Emmy a nice thing.❤😊❤ again thanks for the love.
Sweden is like the brainy kid that sits in front of the class ! I LOVE That they think things through ... The whole world should be like Sweden . Just my opinion . I'm not from Sweden nor did I ever lived there but I think they're awesome.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this really didn't seem like a military ration pack to me. Everything inside looks very consumer grade and more like something you would buy to put in the basement or when you go camping instead of something that is given to soldiers in the field.
Swedish military rations are just like that, they were developed by 24 Hour Meals. In fact, quite a few countries in Europe use at least some level commercial components, often a significant amount.
+Sniggwaffles The British Army did some research that showed that having recognisable brands was actually good for morale: "a taste of home" and all that. Soldiers reported that tea from familiar branded packets tasted better than tea from plain ones, even though it was exactly the same tea!
It says "combat" on the package, and was sent by someone who is in the army, and who knows for sure these are used in the army, but you are right, it probably isn't... duh!!
LOL @ 11:28 When she explained that it was a salty licorize gum with menthol, I thought to myself "Hmm. That sounds good, I should check if I can get that online". Next scene? She's disgusted by it and delicately spits it out... I once offered a piece of salmiak licorize to a co-worker, she accused me of trying to poison her... (tongue-in-cheek, but still).
I was actually looking into them and they sell them on ebay. I want to look into it more and see which ones are the good ones before I invest in one haha

Any coffee is good coffee, also the menthol salmiakki is the best :D Fazer supersalmiakki is really all I've had though, so I can't really know what that salmiakki tastes like.

Hi. I got here from watching other MRE reviews from Kiwi Dude and Alduin. The first thing that really struck me is that the camera is nearly always on your face instead of on the thing you are reviewing. The male reviewers don't even show their faces at all; they keep the camera on the product. Perhaps because they aren't nearly as attractive as you are ;) Other viewers may find they connect more with you seeing your face as you talk, but I find it makes the show more about you and less about the product being reviewed. Also, there isn't much visual differentiation between your shows since, well, you've got the same face in every one ( duh) and every show is mainly about your face. Anyway, maybe just me, but if you focused mainly on the product, I think I'd get a better sense of it and also there would be more of a visual difference between the shows because the products are different.
So many months with these MRE, it's hilarious! Remember also, MRE packs have some stuffing in them so that you don't have to poo all the time :) Works well if you eat one or two packs but if you live of them for live 2-3 weeks, then you're going to have a bad time.
I watched you eat all the other military food too, and you always seem surprised the bread is dense. It has to be dense, in order to pack in as many calories and as much energy and nutrients as possible into as small a package as possible.

Very well done! I love your candor and your description of how the rations taste - lots of adjectives and comparisons to other foods. Thanks. Dan
Emmy!! You should try miracle berries!!! They are these berries that make different foods taste completely opposite!!!
I've heard of it! Very interesting. I've tasted it before, though its been awhile. I think it changed sour/spicy stuff into sweet?
+Rojin Habibi It actually just makes sour foods taste sweet. It binds to receptors on the tongue so you literally can't taste the sourness.
+Rojin Habibi I'll have to get some. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
+emmymadeinjapan no problem!! Love your videos!!!
lol I love how you go "mmm!!!" after every taste hhahaha

The nöt crème you ate is so popular in Sweden Every kid eats it it so god yumm

Emme, you should do a series of the freeze dry food from Thrive. We were surprised at how good it tastes. They even have freeze dried ice cream.
Thrive? As in Thrive, the MLM? Friend, rethink your request.
I love the "HMMMM" noise she makes after tasting things xD

Only 2 packs of coffee? I'm surprised the Swedish army hasn't rebelled!
i enjoy my coffee 1% coffee, 93% milk, and 6% sugar
i like mine with 2 teaspoons of sugar and 3 teaspoons of cream. some times with the liquid creamer i leave a little left so i can drink the rest.
Any coffee is good coffee, also the menthol salmiakki is the best :D Fazer supersalmiakki is really all I've had though, so I can't really know what that salmiakki tastes like.
