Emmy, the diamond symbol with Y is not a specifically Danish marking but an international shipping requirement. It is called a "Limited Quantity Hazard Symbol", and is required for international shipments that contain hazardous materials that can only be shipped in - you guessed it - limited quantities, lest they catch fire and endanger a vessel or aircraft. This symbol with the Y in the center denotes it is safe for AIR transit. The same symbol without the Y denotes ROAD or OCEAN transit. I can only assume that the symbol is present here incase this pack contains a chemical heater, which it clearly does not in this case. Possibly it is a relic of a time when they routinely did include such a thing, or a better-safe-than-sorry, belt-and-braces approach to shipping safety. I hope that helps.
Ozzpot this ration pack was supposed to contain a chemical heater. Someone must have removed it at some point. This also explaint the lack of matches wich you will find in some of the other Danish ration packs. In total there are about 15-20 different menus, but that number varies. Also, they are not mints, but pieces of dental gum.
An interesting coincidence, but no, you can check for yourself with any number of sources, this website is just one example: www.air-sea.co.uk/products/limited-quantity-packaging
Danish Soldier here... now... lets see... those bloody fruit n' fun tubes are universally hated in my platoon... because before those there were proper porridge in the rations... apple porridge, wild berries porridge, strawberry porridge. put that bad boy on the heater in a vehicle in the morning and you got yourself hot apple porridge in the cold winter mornings... a freaking life saver... or it used to be like that... until Fruit n' Fun came along... the ration should contain a chemical heater for the main course and a pack of matches but i believe they have been removed for shipping... the toothbrush contains some kind of dental powder coating that has a slight minty flavor... pretty cool if you like having your mouth filled with the hairs of the brush because that shit is some low quality... xD there is a version of the ration that contains freeze dried menus but that is for summer use... the winter ration has what is referred to as wet menus which is what you got... look at the box and you will see that it says wet on the side... the winter rations also has an extra main course for those extra calories needed in the winter :D some time ago there was a packet of mayonnaise in the rations... mix that with Tuna, salt, peber, hot sauce and you've got yourself a surprisingly good tuna salad for your bread :D

I don't think she likes everything. She didn't like the fruit drink, for example. She's not afraid to say when she doesn't like something, but she just stays extremely polite the whole time and doesn't seem to let it affect the rest of her mood/day/meal. Somehow, out of all the UA-camrs I regularly watch, I think Emmy would actually be the most terrifying if truly enraged, because of that calm focus. (Or maybe Luke Westaway. Dude's so nice and sweet 95% of the time kinda like Emmy, until he gets dark.)
In Denmark, a comedian and candidate for the "cooperation of consciously workshy elements" (a mock-party) was elected in 1994. One of his key issues was "Nutella in the rations", and afterwards a chocolate spread was included - it was removed again in 2010.
For once a politician who kept his promises. He had to skip on "more sex in the faculty rooms" and "tailwind on the bicycle lanes", but the nutella in the field rations was a thing . . .
Danish soldier here. I know the video is old but it just popped up. I've only been on exercises where we didn't have much time to eat, so we got pretty creative on how to eat. First of all. We would never take the tuna or the macarel (that we now have instead of lime tuna) and put it over the bread. We would squeeze a bit of fish out of the package into the mouth and then take a bite of the bread. And I'd do the same with the paté. Most people didn't like the paté so I'd have a bunch lol The main course got... Interesting. We would heat it up with water and then put in our tuna, spicy sauce and pour a salt and pepper package into it and then stir it around. And yes. It's as disgusting as it sounds. The breakfast was the good meal. We would take it and pour our cocoa powder into it and dump a package of sugar into it. Actually made it taste pretty good. We would never make an energydrink by pouring it into our canteen. We would take some powder and place it inside the mouth, kinda like snuff, and then drink some water to get the taste. All the little snacks we would carry in our pockets and eat throughout the day. Everything that we didn't pack in our pockets we would put inside the plastic bag and put the bag in our backpack so we didn't have to carry the box. And those biscuits. We called them "Cork cracker" 'cause you would not need to go do a #2 after eating one of those. The raw bite is great. It's filled with energy and you feel it instantly. But it feels like eating a dry brick. And man... That Toffee bar was the highlight of a day in the field :D
Dude. First, I hope that you're doing well. Second, I totally can visualize young men and women eating their rations this way. Easier on the cleanup and good way to eat on the move. The dinner with the tuna and the hot sauce sounds like something I'd eat back in college when I staggered in from a late night out with my buds. But the best of the best is your recipe for the muesli - pouring the cocoa powder in there is brilliant. I hope the guy who came up with that is now a general!
Surviving Endtimes lol what? As a Mexican living in Texas I've never had chile con carne that doesn't have beans.. Also what do you mean by "meat or carne"? Meat is just carne in English lol
That’s how my grandmother from New Jersey served it. My grandmother from Georgia (who served chili like a stew with saltine crackers) thought it was something she decided to do to stretch the portions for a family of 7.
Even though there's no toothpaste included in the pack, you'll be fine because the toothbrush is coated with dry toothpaste. It's really good on the go.
When I was younger I used to be a scout (Well in Denmark it's called being a 'Spejder' and boys and girls are not divided), and as we lived near an army base we used to get the 24-hour ration packets, that the army didn't need af they had been on an exercise. And the packets that I remember used to have different kinds of stewed fruits, and nobody wanted the one made from prunes.
In the old C ration packs the peanut butter would actually burn sufficiently long and hot to boil a cup of water for cocoa or coffee. We would save the peanut butter tins for that purpose. When combined with the biscuit and jams packs, it made the perfect bed time snack. The peanut butter made in Los Angeles burned the best, probably due to the high amount of air pollution

Very relaxing videos. Love them. I'm a vet and only had a few MREs. It's fun that you shed light on these mysterious food packs. I like to see what other countries have in theirs. So far I think the UK has pretty decent ones.
I see they have changed some of the things in these boxes since I last had one a few years ago, how nice :) The toothbrush is super smart, it even already as toothpaste on it!
This was so awesome! A long Emmy vid with an MRE again. Yay! Thankyou so much Emmy-and the guy who sent it to you. They really feed 'em good over there eh? Lol.👍😍🎃
Great video - and you've gained another fan. Not only was my cat Loki watching, as usual, sat on my shoulder - this time he was joined by his brother Felix, who.also watched with sleepy interest as he lay his head against my face.
"A nut is a fruit composed of a hard shell and a seed, which is generally edible. In a general context, however, a wide variety of dried seeds are called nuts," So basically the shell + seed = fruit, But the seed itself = Nut. (Although the whole fruit can also be called a nut.)
interesting video again as always :) my understanding is that "Y" symbol indicates that the package is suitable for air transport and the same symbol but without the "Y" means it's not suitable for air transport.
My dad brought MREs home for us to try. He was in the military. One was like a peach cobbler and the other was some kind of chili mac. It was awful. This was when I was a kid in the 70s. They look like they’ve gotten much better than they were. Enjoy watching you try them and telling us how they taste.
i guess Chili con Carne is pretty usual in nordic countries, I remember often having it in school 😃 it's yummy and an easy more exotic food that kids like to eat
I think I love watching these so much because I miss when my dad would bring home Irish defence forces ration boxes when I was a kid and we used to fight for the peppermint patty bar🙈
I've been meaning to acknowledge that I love the knife you are using (french opinel) and the way you wack the handle to open it shows your knowledge of this tool. I prefer case or boker but variety is the spice of life.
Bridgeford also makes frozen bread dough. You may have to check various supermarkets to find it, but it is good. Butter your bread pan, place the frozen loaf in, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it thaw and rise. 2-3 hours later pop it in the oven. Very good "homemade" bread. And no stupid bread machine.
I love your videos, but I have a question. What eyeliner do you use? It's always so perfect and sometimes I forget you are even wearing it because it looks so natural!
You voice is actually very similar to Mandy Moore’s voice in A Walk To Remember. She also voiced the lead in Tangled as well so that may be why people think you sound like a princess. It’s a lovely voice and I am really hooked on your channel.

put that bad boy on the heater in a vehicle in the morning and you got yourself hot apple porridge in the cold winter mornings... a freaking life saver... or it used to be like that... until Fruit n' Fun came along...
the ration should contain a chemical heater for the main course and a pack of matches but i believe they have been removed for shipping...
the toothbrush contains some kind of dental powder coating that has a slight minty flavor... pretty cool if you like having your mouth filled with the hairs of the brush because that shit is some low quality... xD
there is a version of the ration that contains freeze dried menus but that is for summer use... the winter ration has what is referred to as wet menus which is what you got... look at the box and you will see that it says wet on the side... the winter rations also has an extra main course for those extra calories needed in the winter :D
some time ago there was a packet of mayonnaise in the rations... mix that with Tuna, salt, peber, hot sauce and you've got yourself a surprisingly good tuna salad for your bread :D

SydDamage yesss !! koshary 😍😂😂
Very relaxing videos. Love them. I'm a vet and only had a few MREs. It's fun that you shed light on these mysterious food packs. I like to see what other countries have in theirs. So far I think the UK has pretty decent ones.
Me:
UA-cam algorithm three years after this video was published: "-Allright, let's get this out onto a tray...NICE!"
why are these vids so relaxing? Emmy i could sit and watch these all day keep it going your doing great
I see they have changed some of the things in these boxes since I last had one a few years ago, how nice :) The toothbrush is super smart, it even already as toothpaste on it!
These videos are so calming! I love them.
I could watch Emmy open packages and eat things all day.
Ive been out of the loop for your videos for almost a year. Time for me to binge watch on my next day off work! Love your videos~
Greetings from Denmark, i am a former soldier in danish Home guard.
This was so awesome! A long Emmy vid with an MRE again. Yay! Thankyou so much Emmy-and the guy who sent it to you. They really feed 'em good over there eh? Lol.👍😍🎃
I love how she is so kind to every thing she trys
I love your channel. Your voice is so calming. Thank you.
the rawbite does not taste better when you're starving.
The Rawbite is just pure evil..
@@carstenpedersen3200 full of baby teeth and blandness.
Every single MRE tasting is a delight, thank you!
i love your new haircut
wow shes so adorable and her way of describing things is very clear. Great content.
I adore how she never judges a food before she tries it
Nice to see someone review food and actually review it and not say "taste's good" or "bad".
I love how she was talking about those Cashew nuts as if she was really trying to sell them to some buyer or smt
Are you a chef by profession? Your in depth detail of these foods sounds like you're a chef.
I'm so happy that there's another MRE! They're so interesting to watch. I'm glad I got here so early :)
Great video - and you've gained another fan. Not only was my cat Loki watching, as usual, sat on my shoulder - this time he was joined by his brother Felix, who.also watched with sleepy interest as he lay his head against my face.
I give this to my sons all the time

This comment made my day 😂
Her younger son was born a couple years ago 😅
Shane Williams I thought the same thing! I never noticed that she had another one...! X'D
What do you mean she has two kids wtf she's too young and pure
another great end to my day....always put a smile on my face. thank you, Emmy...just for being you.
cashews aren't nuts they are actually seeds! the more you know
Fun fact; pretty much most if not all nuts are actually seeds! The more you know (:
"A nut is a fruit composed of a hard shell and a seed, which is generally edible. In a general context, however, a wide variety of dried seeds are called nuts,"
So basically the shell + seed = fruit,
But the seed itself = Nut. (Although the whole fruit can also be called a nut.)
Sakura Haruno did u know that cashews come from a fruit?

Your voice is so soothing I love watching these MRE videos and you’re so adorable❤️
Every time I watch Emmy I get SO hungry
Dane here! Ate a ton of those MRE. The first Y in the lid stands for "Y you eating this?" The second Y in the bottom stands for "Y you eat all that?"
interesting video again as always :)
my understanding is that "Y" symbol indicates that the package is suitable for air transport and the same symbol but without the "Y" means it's not suitable for air transport.
Ahhh, I see. Thanks.
njords62 I thought "Y" meant YOLO this shit
Omg i just found this channel last night and cant stop watching 😭 i just love her
Emmy's hair never changes
yes it does
Ella Ren yeah it does
My dad brought MREs home for us to try.
Loved it! Great review. I was always interested what my country serves to their soldiers...
You are very soothing to listen to - kind of reminds me of Bob Ross.
I think I love watching these so much because I miss when my dad would bring home Irish defence forces ration boxes when I was a kid and we used to fight for the peppermint patty bar🙈
"it's coated in some kind of coating"
I've been meaning to acknowledge that I love the knife you are using (french opinel) and the way you wack the handle to open it shows your knowledge of this tool. I prefer case or boker but variety is the spice of life.
Yay I love when you try food from my country!
these are so calming to watch
I have to say, the Protein Bar, is like the best thing in a Danish Ration. I always trade for one extra when i’m in the Field.
"It's coated in some kind of coating" Emmy 2016
I love your videos, but I have a question. What eyeliner do you use? It's always so perfect and sometimes I forget you are even wearing it because it looks so natural!
You voice is actually very similar to Mandy Moore’s voice in A Walk To Remember. She also voiced the lead in Tangled as well so that may be why people think you sound like a princess. It’s a lovely voice and I am really hooked on your channel.
You have such a pleasant personality, I can watch you all day!
she should rlly do asmr
***** nah
NEITHER
G Flores I thought I was the only one that thought that .I feel the same way.
True
Hi emmy love the MRE videos keep up the amazing work!
