    Follow up from last Fridays video. Went back to the nearshore structures and cashed in on another drum bite. They ate natural baits and artificial too! Rigged the artificial on a knocker rig for best results and added bleu crab pro-cure. Natural crabs fished on 1/2 oz bottom sweeper jigs.

    I'm in the UK just looking into the idea of using crabs in my lure fishing. I cannot believe the size of the fish you guys are able to fish for with ease! I've only watched a few minutes and cannot believe the way the rod slammed over incredible on the kayak to 💪👏

    I've seen these before. Can you do a brief video on how these baits perform in moving water like maybe show if they tumble in the shallow surf so that we can see if it needs weight as a knocker rig or weight tied above just to get it down deep? thanks, great video

    Why did the drag on that first red sound like a cash register hahahahah

    • @jeffsmith825
      @jeffsmith825 4 роки тому

      More than likely not the drag but the line roller bearing got corroded. Believe it's a Spinfisher VI but even a shielded bearing there will corrode given how hard he fishes. I buy a bunch of them with every reel, they will most likely be the first thing to go and it's a 30 second replacement. Being in a kayak there's no way to protect against the salt really.

  • @hoangvienvan3689
    @hoangvienvan3689 11 місяців тому

    Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

    I miss fishing in Florida in Tampa Bay and the sand flats with greenbacks, pinfish, live shrimp (of course), mullet, and even crabs for mangrove snapper, yellowtail snapper, grouper, snook, redfish, cobia, tarpon, jack cravelle, spadefish, blacktip shark, and quite a few others. When I was a teenager that's ALL we used to do. Now that I'm an older adult I miss it so much. I'm landlocked here in Pittsburgh, so unless I want an 8 oz trout or a flathead, I'm kinda screwed. I've caught striped bass, walleye, sauger, largemouth, smallmouth, big bluegill on ultralights, etc, but nothing compares to fishing in the bay because you never know what you're going to catch.

    That first fish showed why you need good equipment. These guys that buy the cheap Diawa two for 30 bucks that definitely don’t have infinite anti reverse. That are ok for a guy that goes a few times a year but that first fish will destroy them after just a few. You are the Man on structure. I watch a lot of videos but learn way more watching you. I also enjoy the new Girl friend and you guys act so happy when together. I get my Kayaks Tuesday so maybe I will see you on the water.
