Thanks man, I just moved to Florida. Life Long bass fisherman here and I am just starting the learn the ways of salt water fishing. Great vid, very helpful!
I went fishing right after I watched this video and the first shrimp I threw out I hooked the biggest sail cat I have ever seen!! Thanks for the tips my friend.
Hi Josh, great video. A suggestion for the fourth method. Instead of having the hook exit through the bottom of the shrimp, make the hook exit through the top of the shrimp. This keeps the body in a straight line which is more natural as the shrimp moves through the water.
I must compliment you on all your videos.....They are all educational. I have learnt so much from watching you videos... Will continue to follow you...Thanks Sy..
Great vid Joshua! When sight fishing for bonefish in Miami we use your last method with a smaller hook. The difference is once you have slid the hook through the tail we turn it around and hook it into the body like a Texas rig. It prevents the hook from snagging the grass in shallow water.
When there is medium size shrimp..I use your 3rd method...use two prawns / shrimp facing each other with their own legs trying to fend each other off.. this in turn keeps the bait very reactive on the hook .. hook up rates are alot more on barra & jacks 😎🇦🇺👍👍👏👏
Great information. That Roofing tell technique I have never seen and it looks like something I will do in the future. Thanks and keep these tutorials coming!
Once I hook the shrimp through the horn, can I put a tight clear rubber band around it so it won’t fall off? I’m usually casting 70 yards with my bay pen rod.
It makes you more legit because you included in the cat clearly you don’t care about showing off and care rather about giving valuable information.Don’t worry guys you’re not just going to catch catfish🤙
Very good presentation one question for fishing red ruby snapper 300 meters deep you think it will still steak on the bait anyway BIG THANK for the video.
Which way do you use the most under a cork? And if you’re not using a popping cork do you go Texas or Carolina rig with a weight or just use the shrimps weight?
your videos are awesome, love how you put in so much effort. But I can see why some people might not subscribe due to not being very entertaining. You are more informational and i like that more than other anglers screaming and shouting and swearing just to act funny and get more likes.
When targeting sheepshead the last way you showed works best. Using a longer shank hook. An old lady I used to come across fishing often always did that with live shrimp. I thought she was crazy and she’d start filling the cooler right away..
Hello there, I had a problem with hooking the live shrimp on top of it head.(behind the horn) whenever I cast it, it slide off easily from my hook and lost me quite a few live shrimp I don't what is wrong?! I'm using gamakatsu octopus circle hook for it though...
I have built a cage for my shrimp, like the divers get in when filming Great Whites. I have used the same shrimp for three years now. I'm teaching him to use a spear gun.
Awesome techniques for rigging live shrimp. Does it matter what type of hook you use for shrimp bait? What's best type of hook to use when using shrimp bait?
Consider this... I hook my shrimp from under the head and up through the horn. This way the hook is not laying down on one side sometimes causing the shrimp to roll to one side. Balanced... and this way you can also reel the shrimp in as slow a possible and the shrimp will look like its swimming towards you. Like a very slow lure. Then if you feel the shrimp kicking, stop and wait.. repeat
I heard using flat bottom jigheads are good for live and/or frozen shrimps... Is it true, is it good for Redfish and Snookies? Thanks for sharing your techniques with us... A new subscriber from Titusville here 🦀🏖🌞🌈🎏🎣🙋
Bro I seen nice size snook in the beginning of the south side bridge at night swimming back& fourth in the shadows , how can I hook up and with what from the top of the bridge
Capt. Joshua, I am guessing that except for the claws and a few other differences, the same technique could be used for crayfish for your northern subs! Will have to try it this summer as it does not look like we are going to have a spring! Tight Lines and Happy Times Buddy! 👍👍👍🙂
Rookies like me need n appreciate tips from a very informative Captain 👨✈️ like yourself ones again thanks for your tips!
Do you have a pawd

Thanks from Ozella Florida
Wut size fishing line you recommend?
Joshua, two questions: 1) How long will the shrimp live in your bucket? 2) Any tips for shore/pier fishing in Key West? Thanks!

Hey Josh.. I'm sure you have done a video for this.. But could you do one on knots used to add mono to braided line.. Would be much appreciated..
For leader or to splice onto a spool?

I swear I lost my shrimp with almost every cast. Litttle pin fish tear it up. Went thru 2 dozen in no time. Any tips on how to prolong that?
