I'm from India and we use a lot of cardamom in our cooking, i would suggest you to put cardamom in your mango shake as well, we do it all the time. You are not gonna go back to non cardamom shake everrrr. ❤️
My family does homeschool so for social studies and cooking we make food from all around the world. Cardamom has been one of our favorite finds that we use constantly now!
You basically made Mango Lassi ice cream! A delicious Indian yogurt drink. Indian food uses a ton of cardamom. Chris should try some Indian recipes for sure.
Mango and cardamom with lime is a great and not that uncommon combination of flavors found in many tropical climate cuisines. Rachel just needs to try more ethnic food!
I make an orange-cardamom loaf (like banana bread but not banana) and it’s DIVINE. I add cardamom to my oatmeal. I feel like it’s the new cinnamon/pumpkin spice!
That loaf sounds good! In the middle east desserts with orange and/or cardamon is pretty common and cardamon is used in our tea and ice cream and also savory dishes like roast
I’ve worked as a head baker for many years and I have some super fun news for you. Both dark chocolate and tart/sour cherries pair perfectly with cardamom. Try adding it into the salt sprinkle of the AI cookie and it could make it even better.
Relationship goals. ❤ the way he looks at you is adorable. He always is willing to humor you and is interested in whatever you are interested in. So sweet honestly.
My favorite summer dessert is a scoop of strawberry sorbet and a scoop of lemon with mint and zest on top. It also tastes great with a little lemoncello la croix floated on top!
cardamom - for coffee, for tea in winter, for cakes, cookies, biscuits, for mango lassi (this is probably the most famous combination). Be sure to look for Arabic recipes, because they often use cardamom for meat and rice dishes. I am from Poland, cardamom is almost not used in our traditional cuisine, but over time I got to know and love it, especially with coffee
In India cardamom is used for both sweet and savoury cooking, as well as some people chew cardamom pod as mouth fresheners and ESPECIALLY daily for tea add some grounded cardamom a d pod leaf as well
A good alternative to chewing gum, altoids and tictacs: pop in a cardamom pod. It takes getting used to to not swallow it, but the freshness lasts longer than gum once you spit it out, it has no sugar, and it's spicy in a good way.
Our family enjoys using ice cream as dip for things like chips, French fries, pretzels, etc.... I really enjoy these videos! Thanks for all the effort and hard work you put in to make everything look so fun and interesting!!
1 of my favorite childhood memories is movie night with my sister at home. We had chocolate m&m ice cream topped with microwave (normal, non of that nasty extra butter stuff) popcorn. Mmmmm.... Memories.....

If you want interesting mix ins, try good quality vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of really good quality (dark green) pumpkin seed oil on top. It sounds weird, but it tastes amazing. For those without nut alergies, slivers of almond can be added :).
One of my favorite deserts for summer is strawberries soaked in a good raspberry balsamic, put over vanilla ice cream with a shaving of dark chocolate on top! OMG so good!
Strawberries with a fig balsamic is so bomb. At a restaurant I worked at we had a sourdough slice with marscapone (sp?) Strawberry slices and drizzled with a fig balsamic. So good
Cardamom….I always have a bag of the pods. Used often in Indian dishes, some Armenian as well. I’m Armenian with a grandma that grew up in Calcutta, India. It goes great in sweet or savory. Add to ice cream (as you did) yogurt, tea. Bake into a bread. 🥰 very versatile.
Hey Rachel! There is a place here in Oregon and now California and some other places called salt&straw. They create bizzar but tasty flavors. My favorites are olive oil, candy cap mushroom and the weirds one….Caramelized turkey and cranberry sauces 😮 I know weird but it was delicious! There is a cook book in amazing right now with all the flavors!
I am also a person who does not like chunks in my ice cream. I have sensitive teeth as well. I always say that ice cream was not meant to be chewed! I am a dark chocolate lover, and often get the bars with chili pepper in them, so that addition made sense to me, as did the balsamic vinegar, which I drizzle on strawberry shortcake. Yum!
I'm in Australia, and in our supermarkets in the canned/tinned fruit section we can get canned passionfruit pulp. Not quite the same as a puree, but it would just take straining it to remove the seeds and you more or less have puree. I also support the pasta dishes, ramen and air fryer A.I recipes. I recently bought myself an air fryer, love it!. Favourite thing so far is nachos in the air fryer. ❤
We use this 4 types of dry spices in our curries and common dishes in Malaysia ( Cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise and cardamom) ! Also I've recently learnt that cardamom in tea or coffee (with or without milk) is quite common in middle east.
I tend to use cardamom most in the Fall/Winter months in Massachusetts…in beverages and baked goods, mostly. I’ve had delicious Indian dishes with cardamom in them as well but those were prepared for me so I don’t know how to make them. 💜
We use a bit of cardamom in porridge, buns and waffles! It’s also very good if you make cardamom buns (the same as cinnamon buns)! In dinner dishes we use it in our bolognaise and in moussaka! It is such a versatile spice! It adds warmth and roundness to the food😊
25:09 the look on rachels face when she thought chris was saying some internet recipe was the best cookies she ever made 😂 how dare chris would insult her extensive cookie knowledge like that! 25:15 and the transition to relief when she heard the full question 😂
Magnum now has a new ice cream called Starchaser: popcorn ice cream, a layer of caramel then a chocolate layer with a popcorn texture. I really enjoy it!
We use cardemon in both sweet and savory dishes. In my family we put it in with pancakes, (yes it's the thin ones as Im scandinavian), buns we serve for kiddieparties, even adding a bit to the cinnamonbuns, we add it to the dough and then the cinnamon spread when you roll them up. And then we add it to the various potdishes.
I seem to remember Chris talking about the Swedish cinnamon rolls he grew up eating. I think those are traditionally made with cardamom -- maybe try that?
Coming from someone who's been raised in a persian household. You wanna add the cardamom to black tea and let it sit a bit on a candle. It. Is. Delicious
Also, growing up in Ontario, I would eat pure Maple Syrup with my vanilla ice cream all the time (I still do) and apparently it's a weird combination? Not sure how but I love it and always have.
One of the best desserts I've ever had was at a restaurant in Salt Lake City which was vanilla ice cream with fresh berries, balsamic vinegar and fresh mint, SO GOOD!! Another fave I had recently was in Budapest and that was pineapple carpaccio with olive oil, sea salt and fresh mint, delicious!! Also surprised Chris doesn't know more about cardamom with his Finnish roots! it is used in cinnamon buns in many scandinavian countries, as well as in Glögg (Swedish mulled wine), it is also used in Middle Eastern/Indian cuisines! Loove cardamom :)
Hi from Sri Lanka, We use cardamon to flavor rice like Sri Lankan yellow rice, and in a lot of sweets. One example is milk toffee which is fudge but without the chocolate.
Ok, so... 1. You should try thick hot dark chocolate with chili pepper (many recipes online). 2. Chocolate ice cream with lightly salted popcorn is da bomb! 3. I use cardamom in my beer bread, in pumpkin pie, in any gingerbread-y thing, in many chocolate recipes when I want to switch it up a bit (like cakes, hot chocolate or crème brûlée etc.), in bagels, in Easter bread (I'm from Greece), in banana bread, in cinnamon rolls, in curry, in salads (try arugula, cherry tomatoes, strawberries and cardamom with a bit of olive oil and a bit of balsamic vinegar), and so much more! Hope you try some of these!
we put cardamom in bun dough/cinnamon bun dough, for sugar cookies, sugar cake with apple and cardamom, cinnamon, in donut dough, we also make cardamom buns, cardamom cakes, cardamom bread etc
As kids my mom would make us traditional German food because she’s full blooded German and a granddaughter of immigrants. She would make Apfel kuchen (translates to apple pie or apple cake) and then mix that into vanilla ice cream with a swirl of hot caramel. It was so good!!! One of my friends and I when we were kiddos made cheez it infused custard ice cream with a cheddar cheese crust made in the oven so good!!!
Popcorn flavoured, you’d get more of the flavour if you infuse the popcorn into the milk before making it. Possibly the same with some of the other flavours. The cheese makes sense, I’ve heard it’s good. Salty and sweet!
Infusing the basil would work really nicely as well! And that way you would still get the flavor without having to chew basil leaves while eating the ice cream. Plus I think it would be better with a higher quality strawberry ice cream (even better if it was homemade), with strawberry preserves swirled throughout!
Loved this video lol I used to have super sensitive teeth with cold stuff too, I switched my toothpaste to the Boka brand, and it has changed my teeth sensitivity for the better, I definitely recommend
Carfamom is usually used with Indian food ans so delicious! The first gelato looks like a stracciatella ice cream ^^ You can also ude dryed candided fruits for a tutti frutti ice cream Or some simple dryed fruit or granola or muesli into it. I like praliné ice cream and amarena 😍
In India we use it in most of our cooking. I'm sure you've heard of garam masala, its one of the spices that goes in that. Plus, cardamom (powdered like you did in the recipe) in warm milk tastes nice too!

Cardamon is used in Asian cuisine. Sri Lankan, Indian and Middle East recipes. It can be used for curries, milk tea (Chai), desserts and baking. It’s also has medicinal properties.
Cardamom is sooo good in baked goods like an almond cardamom cake. I also do a cardamom honey glazed chicken. Add cardamom to sugar cookies for a fun take. I also sometimes put it in a rhubarb crisp. But honestly you can add it to most everything for a great taste. I find it very umami. Maybe do some savoury things like best pizza, calzone, soup etc. I love this ai series.

Just got to the part where Chris asks what else cardamom is used for, we in India use it in Chai( tea), curries, desserts, all sorts of food!
I've been adding cardamom to my cinnamon rolls. 🤤 I forgot! I also add it to my sourdough molasses cookies.
What does cardamom taste like, if you don’t mind answering?

@@honeyjha1569yep. I remember making kulfi with similar ingredients and condensed milk rather than creme anglaise.
You should ask AI to make Ramen recipes, pasta recipes and Air Fryer recipes.

Christopher is such a trooper. He’s relaxed and matter of fact. Love both of your energy.
As a Swede I could really recommend making your cinnamon buns with freshly grind cardamom. It’s way better than cinnamon 🍪
Oh man, now I’m remembering my mormor’s kardemummabullar. ❤
Mango and cardamom with lime is a great and not that uncommon combination of flavors found in many tropical climate cuisines. Rachel just needs to try more ethnic food!
For me as an Arab, usually we use cardamom and pistachio with vanilla ice cream, such a sophisticated flavour and really refreshing

Being south Asian and watching someone call mango and cardamom a weird combo👀... its the standard combo in our cuisine. For good reason ❤️😊
