I love how passionate Christopher is about how ingredients are used. He’s never just like hey use this ingredient this way because I said so he tells you I think you should use this ingredient and here’s why and it’s a totally sensible reason like the truffle oil being a finishing oil because the heat affects the flavor or the Barada being meant to be served at room temperature and once you heat it, you’re losing a lot of the creaminess that sets it apart from other cheeses like a mozzarella like it’s never just that’s the wrong way. It’s that way doesn’t make sense to me. Here’s what I would do and why and I love that.
you could probably make a whole series where you make a recipe from like tik tok or whatever, and then after you and christopher taste it, he makes the recipe but with his own twist to see if it can be improved
I took my mom on her dream trip to Hawaii for what would have been her and my dad’s 32nd anniversary. He passed 7 years ago and it meant the world to be to be able to give her that gift. 💖
I had my son in September of this year. He's completed our family in so many ways and it's what my heart needed to heal- my dad passed away last year. Oh!! And i graduated with a degree in accounting! Happy new year everyone!!!!!
I've been watching you for so long. It's been a year since my father passed away unexpectedly three days before Christmas and your videos have helped me come out of a very dark place. Thank you for doing what you do 💙
💜🥰🤩🥂🎉 Chris: "that's awful, I don't recommend" - 5 seconds later goes in for the green one! That's the kinda guy you want around when you have tried something and it's yucky and you want someone else to share in your disgust❣
You don’t need to shell the chickpeas if you boil them for a little while first! It softens the “shells” enough that they’ll blend into the hummus perfectly!
(Haven’t seen the chickpea video in question so not sure what he tried) howeverrr….. You can also spread them out on half of a kitchen towel on the counter. Fold the other half of the towel over the top of them and gently roll them between the towel under your hands. This doesn’t get them ALL off but significantly helps in saving time and your fingers!
13:58 pickled beets is the only way I ever had the for the first 30+ years of my life (also my grandmothers). In fact, for a very long time I didn't know they came any other way.
The thing I am most proud of this year was giving birth to my first child in February 💕 I can’t even believe he’ll already be one soon, that just goes to show how fast time flies
Yay Christopher! I love watching you two together ❤️ And I'm thankful to still be our apartment. My husband has been unemployed for nearly a year until 2 weeks ago. A friend lent us a large sum of money to catch us up on rent so we wouldn't be evicted on the 1st. I haven't been able to work for almost 2 years now due to health issues, but they are getting a bit more manageable. I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday, and be safe.
I wrote my first book manuscript ever and graduated (at 39 years old) with my MFA. I’m immensely proud of myself and looking forward to spending the next year writing and revising it to try and shop it around for publishing! Happy New Year to you and yours, Rachel! Thanks for the videos and sharing your life with us!
Fantastic! Now you know you have the strength and perseverance to follow whatever path you choose in life. Rejoice in it and continue to inspire yourself and others😊
I love watching the interaction between you and Christopher. You obviously enjoy one another and play off each other so well. Thank you for an entertaining 2022!
It took me forever to realize you had a nut allergy. My son does too and it's lovely to have a channel that does recipes we can try without modifying! You guys are honestly my favorite UA-cam channel. Everything is *chef's kiss*
Overall, 2022 was a terrible year. BUT we were able to see some family that live on the other side of the planet for the first time since 2019. That was an amazing experience, even though everything (and I do mean everything - from hurricanes, to car accidents, to cancer) tried to keep us from going.
The thing I was most proud of is getting ahold of you and your husband via email lol. I was so shocked when he actually answered me 🤪 like I told him your channels have really blessed me and inspired me to start me own channel. I just reached my first milestone on here which I was so proud of too. I told your hubby I was starting a channel and asked him if he could give me any tips and he did, he gave me some great tips, but one of the three things he told me was set a goal for where I want the channel to be as far as “numbers” and so I did and I thought there was no way I was ever meeting that goal because on dec 30th I still wasn’t even close to meeting the goal I wanted to meet, but on December 30th I posted this one video that went partially viral and can you believe I not only met my goal but surpassed it and that all went down on December 31st!!: isn’t that awesome, It definitely made my heart smile and I have your channel and you and your husband to partially thank for that because if I hadn’t took your husband’s advice I probability would not have met my goal so thank you Rachel and Christopher God bless P.S I AM SORRY IF I SPELLED YOUR NAMES WRONG LOL😂
Milk bread was the only recipe I tried from the ones I’ve watched and it was really good. Also super helpful because I’m allergic to eggs. I graduated from college this year. In 2020 I got a brain injury and had to rehab for just about the full year. So this was extra big for me.
2022 was very good for me, came out as non binary, was accepted, joined a queer choir, and was invited to sing in a choir in a sold out show in a huge collesium for a comedy special thats releasing in 2023. I still think it was all a dream
I just LOVE the way you handle food. I'm a chef and the lack of respect and knowledge about food puts me off so much in a lot of videos on UA-cam. But you guys... Are doing it sooooo well! Thank you! It's a pleasure to watch. Have a wonderful 2023!
The pizza toast thing is basically a bruschetta. Chris was absolutely right, the Burrata needs to be room temperature and the truffle oil goes on at the end. Well done you guys 👏👏👏
2022 saw me finally get an ADHD diagnosis and some meds to help. It's been so validating to have some answers as to why I am how I am, and why I struggle with some things
Here in Australia, we have “canned beetroot” which as I understand it is sliced pickled beetroot- it’s common to have it on hamburgers- 100% would recommend trying!🤷♀️👍🏻🥰
Tip for shelling chickpeas: boiling them in water with baking soda, quite some shells will come floating to the top. There's a hummus recipe from America's Test Kitchen that shows it.
Happy New Year!! I believe you already know this; you are so lucky to have an “in-house” chef, who is willing to tweak recipes for both food and drink! I wouldn’t know where to start!
Keep doing this as a series!!! I love it!! As a home cook I appreciate that Chris explains things so well (he's right with everything but not in an annoying way!)
I just had to say it is the best having you both in my life! I also need a Chris in my life for real! You are both so adorable and I look forward to your videos always! ❤
Last hours of my year and what could be better than Rachel? ❤️❤️❤️ A happy and healthy new year to you and your family! BUT: beets belong into borscht, which is warm and delicious. Just not the pasta. AND: I once ate tomatoes in a rib restaurant that were out of season, but they had marinated them well. Probably like Christopher did. Highly recommend. 🥰
Fuzzy peach! I miss those. We lived in Canada briefly when I was a kid and I’ve never been able to find them anywhere since 😢. Happy new year and thanks for bringing the joy! Your channel is one of my favourite corners of the internet.
This channel is me and my 9 year old daughter’s FAVORITE channel! We love the wholesome energy and great content! Thanks for all the great recipes (Christopher’s tweek’d versions) to try. Sending ❤ from Baton Rouge, Louisiana!
You can use soft candies BUT I would recommend hard candies, like jolly ranchers. They come into a bunch of flavors, or lollipops and then when the candy dissolve , strain to take out any impurities. Usually takes about 10 weeks ina cool dry dark place and use glass only.
I'm most proud of my fitness journey that I had in 2022. I've been trying for over a year, but ultimately doing a little bit of a lot of things every day, which wasn't helping me get stronger or faster. I switched things up in May, and have seen so much improvement since then 😁
Happy holidays and kudos for taking the time to keep your family happy and healthy. Your UA-cam family will be here waiting when you return. And remember, if you don’t fill your cup, there’s nothing to share.
You always make my day better! You are so relatable to me and my husband, we love watching your videos together because we almost feel like you and Christopher are our friends 😂. Thanks for another great video!
Thank you guys for making my 2022 better. Also, Chris making the recipes better should be a series. I think we all agree on that one. Best wishes for 2023
🎵 heaven I’m in heaven🎵🥳 this is the video I was waiting for 🤩🤩🤩 Hands up 🙌 for Christopher 🙌 thank you guys ❤ I had a great time tonight alone 😊… with you ❤ Happy New Years everyone 🥳🍾🥂✨
This year, I was excited about a project. It didn't go as I thought, but I was able to do it anyway, and for a price that was less. Lol I also did a side project that was fun, as well!
I live in the Midwest and there are these tiny Amish stores. Every time we see them, I make my husband stop and we stock up on pickles, olives, jams, jellys (our fav kind is jalapeño) and of course, pickled beets. ❤
I liked the Hailey Bieber pizza roast but Chris is 100% right about the burrata! I thought the same thing when I saw it, the whole point of burrata is the cream inside the mozzarella. If you’re just gonna cook it then what’s the point? Just use straight mozz and save the effort lol. Enjoy your burrata in a delicious tomato salad lol. Also good point about the truffle oil.
Happy New Year to the both of you! You and Christopher are such an amazing duo, and I really enjoy all your content! Can't wait to see what is to come in 2023❤️
Thank you so much for another year filled with fantastic content. My week is not complete without watching your videos 💜 The ones with Christopher & you together are seriously my favourite thing, the love & humour shared between you two is healing to watch🥰 Looking forward to enjoying your content in 2023 as well❣️
In 2022, my debut novel went out on submission after a year of working really hard on editing it to get it publisher ready. I hope 2023 will be the year it sells and I finally get something out of 5 years of working on it.
Well done Christopher, seems like you got some great results out of your ideas!☺️ I had an amazing year all around, my kids, my family, everyone is happy and healthy and I can’t be happier from that side!❤ but what I want to mention is that I took the biggest decision when it comes to my body and finally had a plastic surgery I thought about for years but always thought plastic surgeries are just so unnecessary, I have good body and it’s just silly thing nobody really see etc etc so it took me very long to actually do it. The reason I share all that (not that anyone will read it😂) is that I am now SO happy in my body, in my clothes, whenever I see myself in the mirror, it just filled me with so much happiness and confidence that if there is anybody like me, who think about having something done, if it something that really bothers you (YOU, nobody else!), do it! No matter what, if it makes you happier at the end, it’s worth it!!!!😊 Happy New Year everyone ❤️
I quit my job in 2022 that was sucking me dry and while it took a few months too long in my opinion, I found a new one that I’m actually happy at. (Knock on wood) here’s to 2023!
Moved from Southern California all the way to Nashville with my husband and daughter so my husband can attend a graduate nursing program. Such a life changing year, so many scary things but all so worth it!
I am hugely proud of cutting out around 80% of sugar from my diet to keep myself from getting diabetes!!! Unbeknownst to us I lost 40lbs along the way. It was not my goal to lose weight, but it makes 100% sense now. lol I am not going to get diabetes AND I am 4-5 sizes smaller! ♥♥♥♥♥♥
I also think that pizza toast could use a nice thick and crusty bread. Rub it with garlic and sear it off. You can make it as usual then, and I would finish it off with a really nice fruity balsamic.
I choked on my water when Christopher went in for the second gummy lol. This is exactly the video I wanted to see. Great improvements. Happy New years!
I agree! As a foodie, I love when people explain everything in detail. Just fyi, if you ever look for it somewhere, it's burrata.
I think we need this to be a series: Chris turns terrible recipes into great ones :D
I would watch the heck out of that!!
I recommended this a couple months ago, so glad she decided to do it here!
Agreed
Ditto
Love this idea
Christopher is such a gem! What a great husband, seriously! We need more Christopher in your channel please!
you could probably make a whole series where you make a recipe from like tik tok or whatever, and then after you and christopher taste it, he makes the recipe but with his own twist to see if it can be improved
that would be amazing!!
I would totally watch that as a series!!! Maybe even as a separate channel for Christopher !!!!
Yes yes!
2022 brought me our rainbow baby after 16yrs of infertility. Best year yet!! 🤗🥰
I love Christopher’s cooking recommendations and cookbook recommendations.
I took my mom on her dream trip to Hawaii for what would have been her and my dad’s 32nd anniversary. He passed 7 years ago and it meant the world to be to be able to give her that gift. 💖
The best thing that happened to me was being donated 3 frozen embryos after 10 years of trying to start a family. Hope 2023 is our year!! 🎉❤🤞🏻
Congratulations! Wishing you all the luck! 💜

this is so true! saves a whole lot of effort and frustration from peeling shells
@@stubbsfinch I have to peel chickpeas because the skins, even softened and mixed in, cause me gastric distress.

13:58 pickled beets is the only way I ever had the for the first 30+ years of my life (also my grandmothers). In fact, for a very long time I didn't know they came any other way.
Chris is so sweet to do all that cooking for you. What I am proud about for 2022 is I finally found a job again.
The thing I am most proud of this year was giving birth to my first child in February 💕 I can’t even believe he’ll already be one soon, that just goes to show how fast time flies

Featuring Chris in your videos is the gift that keeps giving ❤😂
I love watching the interaction between you and Christopher. You obviously enjoy one another and play off each other so well. Thank you for an entertaining 2022!
The most exciting thing for me this year was retiring after 34 years of teaching. I hope you have a great 2023.

I love how Christopher does the science so we don't have to, and tries both gummies.

Best thing of 2022 by far was my last baby being born 🥰 he's the bestest addition to our little fam 🥰💕
I learned I can live for myself and not just for other people thats the best thing that happened to me this year
This year I got engaged! I think that’s the best life news so far! ❤

In 2022 a lot of bad things happened but one good thing was that I started my last year of med school! I graduate this June 🤩🤗 very exciting!
Those look so good! Best thing that happened this year was my husband finished building our beautiful home!
This was so fun. I loved seeing how Christopher altered the recipes. It made my foodie heart happy. Now I need to try that pizza toast.
Thanx for all the good ideas in 2022. Happy New Year to you guys.
Enjoy your time with family, Happy 2023 wishing you Health, Wealth and Happiness.
I was very impressed with the gluten free tortillas!
I need more of those videos! It's a great idea...

I got an air fryer for Christmas and now I just realized I’m gonna go back through all of your air fryer videos. I am so excited.
Love ya Rach and Christopher! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! Enjoy your vacation! Good job Christopher on tweaking of the recipes. Thx&see ya😁
Hey man, I am in my late 20s and all I want is adult wholesome cooking and conversations ❤️. Happiest new year guys 🤩
Your best video past year was the one with you, Chris and Dibs cooking together.
🎵 heaven I’m in heaven🎵🥳 this is the video I was waiting for 🤩🤩🤩 Hands up 🙌 for Christopher 🙌 thank you guys ❤ I had a great time tonight alone 😊… with you ❤ Happy New Years everyone 🥳🍾🥂✨

Chris is WOW!!!! Not only does he cook but makes awesome cocktails as well!! 😎
I liked the Hailey Bieber pizza roast but Chris is 100% right about the burrata! I thought the same thing when I saw it, the whole point of burrata is the cream inside the mozzarella. For 2022 I am most proud of walking for my bachelors degree!
Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
Happy NewYear to you and the Rachloves family!
What i am proud of last year was that i went to vancouver canada and had the best time of the year there😊
We the viewers absolutely love Christopher! You're both so lush together 😻
The best “thing” of 2022 are my kittens 😸 we have since early December!
Soak raspberries in vodka for a few days. Mix the fluid with pink lemonade and put the raspberries on ice cream. We call the drink a kinky pinky
Happy New Year! Best thing I did in 2022 was learn to paint watercolor. I’ve had so much fun and loved having my creative time every day. 😊
I love seeing Christopher with you in your videos. Also I’m proud of myself for getting my class b cdl license in November 2022🎉
I'm really happy with how much better I've been with getting my ocd contamination better. It's not perfect but better by a long shot.😅🎉
I love how you and Chris work well together.
Amazing! Thank you both so much
I can't wait to see you again Rachel in your next video. Looking forward to it
Ahh, you're wearing the cute jumper again! Thank you for the super fun video and a happy new year to everyone ❤
LOVE you guys. So genuine and kind and loving. ❤❤❤
In 2022, my debut novel went out on submission after a year of working really hard on editing it to get it publisher ready.
I hope 2023 will be the year it sells and I finally get something out of 5 years of working on it.
@Chris boil the chick peas or microwave. Then rinse with water while rubbing between your hands for a couple of times. Should be quiet easy 😁
Happy new year to you and your family I hope you have a great time on your vacation. 🙂💜👍🏽
