As soon as you tried to move it and it didn’t move without high revs, it took me straight back to my Rover 827 auto I rebuilt! I’d drained the gearbox weeks earlier and hadn’t refilled it. I rebuilt all the front end and wanted to start it and move it and it didn’t go anywhere. I thought I’d developed a major issue, deliberated about how I could fix it over a break feeling really down. Then……..I realised what I hadn’t done. The relief I felt when I refilled the gearbox and the car moved was fantastic. That was 30 years ago now but it’s still imprinted on me. Keep on doing what you are doing, if you enjoy your job it isn’t a chore it’s a passion.
Phil I bet when you were rev - ving the engine the chainsaw guy was thinking damn I don’t hear him for weeks and moment I want some peace Phil spoils it lol 😂.
The topdon artidiag800 is a great piece of kit when you find your way around it - I’ve had mine for about 4months and think it’s well worth the money. Think the software is pretty similar to launch but the price is more competitive 👍
Really good content Phil, a great find. They are a good old yoke the VW Touareg and they take the miles too. I would spend the monkey on it and keep it. You know the ins and outs of this one now. Liked that scanner too. 👍🇬🇧😎
I had the Treg - same colour, same year - 63 plate - it *was* the R-Line though... and it had the piano black and the slightly nicer 3.0. It also had oil in the gearbox hahaha :D Definitely one of my favourite cars. Loved it.
Good choice Phil well done for putting up with Texas Chain Saw Massacre dude! is he cutting up catB's, i owned a 2008 Altitude 3.0tdi V6 in great condition, 3.5ton towing when needed, good off road, jet wash it and use for a wedding!
Gearbox oil could have been due to oil cooler pipes on rad pack previously off before you got it , being started up many times , VW cars are common for ac code when low on gas , again rad pack issues , Topdon is similar software to kingbolen scanners , health report always first , the front springs are a doddle to do, similar to old Honda's, just work on compression,no twist, would look nice valeted , nice job 👍
Their main problem is they aren’t comp,isn’t with any low emission zones in UK. Fancy that, you would think VW group they got caught fitting emission defeat devices to their cars!
I'm only watching this cos my dad is old school lol and me I was a petrol head but I have seen the problems that Combustion engines are doing to the little planet we all live on sorry I'm an EV fanboy if that's a thing . Believe it or not EVs are the future and the quicker the better 😐
Topdon scanner brilliant just do a health check to scan all modules…….Free updates for life( mine has ) not found anything it can’t do yet. When you exit it should shout at you to remove dongle 🤣

I like the Topdon but had some issues with features not working. For example a BMS reset for a Ford fiesta.

I always found VW cars to rev high with auto transmission but that’s a bit silly. 🙄🫣 Goodluck mate… nice car.
