    Best coach on UA-cam by far! I've completely transformed my swing using your videos! I went from a huge slicer (maybe 3 fairways over if I went for it with the driver) to now a massive hook! I don't mind that so much..
    I kept going through all the various issues in my head thinking I was casting, early extension to even trying the DJ left-wrist move to force me to square the club face. I used to think that me being a lefty playing right-handed my right wrist was counteracting my left causing the face to stay open.
    Then I fixed my club path. No longer coming over the top, now i'm swinging from the inside! HUGE hooks on command! Re-learning to grip the club again as my grip was way strong before for the slice. The weaker grip is helping straighten the hook nicely.
    Thanks again coach!

    I have watched hundreds of your videos and this is easily in the top 10! I really liked the way that you emphasized doing these drills slowly to get the feel and gradually increasing speed over the course of a year. Many people do not understand that it takes a lot of time and practice for your mind/body to "unlearn" bad habits and learn good habits. At the end of this video, you included a card/link to another one of your videos featuring Mike Malaska. This is another one I consider to be in your top 10! Great content and wonderful explanation. BTW- I purchased the Hanger and have been working with it for a few days.

    Great video explaining the loft changes and mechanics caused by the flip. This is something that I've been struggling for the last five years of me playing golf because it's what my instructor told me to do, to flick the wrist to generate club head speed. I'm afraid I've built on this habit that it will take the full 12 months or longer to undo it, unfortunately.

    This is so important that for the last 18 months, I have re-built my preshot routine to emphasize this right wrist position on the pre-shot backswing and also on the preshot downswing (with the club behind the hands at 2nd parallel). This one move has entirely transformed my game 18 months later and I will never stop practicing it - it is a lifetime commitment to better clubface control. Every golfer should put Morikawa's slow-mo swing on continuous loop

    Yesterday’s video was “sling” your arms for extra clubhead speed. Useful for us seniors. Todays’s video was practice swinging with your right wrist bent throughout the swing. Reduce the loft of the club for more distance. You do casually mention that in a real golf swing there will be a bit of a throw. Can you combine these two lessons, detailing how to incorporate both elements?

    Great clear explanation Eric! Video idea: I'm able to do these drills well on half swings but would love to hear thoughts on feels for this dynamically once the speed is added and perhaps the differences between the two (throwing vs. keeping trail wrist bent). I may be wrong but I think GG's 'trippy swing drill' video was a different way of feeling the same thing dynamically. He gets someone to flip-hook waaaaay in to out then adds rotation and bizarrely the two sorta cancel each other out and create what feels like no hand movement. When I get it going the ball goes 20 yards further but I often can't commit to it totally when playing because I know if I don't rotate the balls gonna go left-left-left and I may not hold a green. Anyway, just throwing out ideas as fan feedback. :D

      Eric I have a question on the hanger. I bought it and received it today and have already been practicing bowing my left wrist the last month or so. My question is: I have the hanger in a neutral position at the start and bow my wrist as much as possible but my face is still a little open at impact and the hanger is into my forearm the whole time, of I course my body needs to turn which helps but I feel more bowed without out it? Am I doing something wrong or any thoughts? Almost like it’s limiting the bowing of the wrist. Maybe I’m just more flexible than I thought or My grips pretty strong Thanks, possibly something you could talk in a video.

    • @GrumpyGolf4
      @GrumpyGolf4 3 роки тому +1

      I have been wondering the same thing. I would guess the answer is yes. The real differences with Driver are the ball position being further forward and the upward swing coming into the ball vs irons. But that right wrist angle and the handle ahead of the ball will promote the same ball compression and ball speed translating into distance off the tee. Just my two cents

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  3 роки тому +1

      IF you throw too early....yes.
      Of course you need to throw (let wrist release)
      The question is when and how much
      You throw a BIT sooner and a BIT more with driver
      It depends some on your speed
      IF YOU throw too early already you have to train the opposite is the main point of all of this (with all clubs)

    How much club head speed is really required to use a 3 iron well?.. 15 years ago, I could hit a two and a three iron very well. I was away from the game for about 15 years, and now just coming back into it I realized I don't have the club head speed that I used to.. according to the swing caddy, I'm currently generating around 80 to 85 mph. If your wrists, right elbow, and right shoulder are in correct positions can you still “rush the downswing”?

      Hey Ken! Depends on how you define "rush"....and what we assume any consequences are

    Coach Cogorno, you really have stuff amateurs need. You and Russel Heritage are two most;y important UA-cam have watched and been most beneficial for me like this right hand wrist bent. However, a small suggestion to make, please show some softness on your face. You rarely smile even you have good information to deliver. If not, I still watch your videos.

    To warm up for my full swing. I do Extensor Action short chips. Been doing it for 20+ years, while the other guys in my foursome hit 2 7-irons then take out their drivers. ;) Part 1 - Left hand goes on strong. Then cover the top knuckle of the left thumb with the V in the left palm and take the leftside grip (with the trigger finger of potential evil note). To "measure" the club down to the ball and get good compression on the little chip, don't "straighten" the left arm, use some pressure from the right arm on the left thumb to fully extend the left arm. Part II - The evil Antagonist in the Story of Ending Thrown-away Hands is the righthand trigger finger. Until full release that should never act on the handle, it should be a laid back Receiver of the lower part of the club/grip/shaft lagging behind the upper part of the grip/handle. Which is being driven forward at the very top part of the grip/club , by the right ulna/forearm, while the right hand remains quietly Extensored (aka bent back). Part III - IMHO, To make this a permanent fixture of one's game takes a very simple over-drill of Action involved. Take an impact bag and place it a foot or so further forward than you would tee up your ball for a driver. Take your longest iron and make swings slamming the club forward into the bag (without rolling or release) while maintaining your Extensored right hand. You probably can put this drill aside when your iron swings starts to garner 14 inch long shallow divots. ;) BTW, stick to the Corgono brand. There are a kazillion instructors on Yt now. But Eric is one of the handful who is coherent and thorough.
