Imagine coming to know about this masterpiece by surprise and having a hell of a good time watching it without knowing. That's what happened with me. Probably one of the top 5 Kung Fu movies ever made.
It’s a very good film as I’ve been pleasantly surprised but masterpiece and top 5 of All Time is a stretch. How about Wong Fei Hung (Once Upon A Time 1-3 ) and Tai Chi Master (also Jet Li), Donnie Yen, Jackie Chan’s Police Story and his other movies ? I also love the oldies - The One Arm Swordsman, and couple others, and of course Bruce Lee’s Fist of Fury and Return of the Dragon will always be best of the best. In short, there’s many unforgettable movies like this one.
This movie brings me a lot of nostalgia from my childhood, the last sequence were they turn into innocent kids again and go together to the candy shop always makes me shed a tear.
Now the town is happy again when the axe gang get destroyed, seeing all the kids can run freely in the town. Notice that some people in the town are from that Pig Village
Can't hold up more than Kung Fu Hustle. no only was it silly fun as a kid, but a meaningful and self reflective movie as an adult. AND Entertaining? basically an action flick! Literally art.
this is a kind of movie magic i cant find anymore. this was such a, perfect movie. everything ended beautifully. it never took itself too seriously. and still im sitting here crying by how moving it is.

Its so hard for movies to hit the nail on the head to their climax of the movie but this one right here When he said if you want to learn ill teach you And the beast just breaking down and calling him master that 👌

I'm still hoping for a Kung Fu Hustle 2 and please Hollywood don't remake this film, it's perfect just the way it is.

I´ve never noticed at the end scene there are alot of people in the shot from the whole movie, like the guy with his pants under his butt together with that lady who got almost burned by the axe gang or the guy from the train who assaulted the main charakter together with the lipstick lady. The Married Masters and the guy with a pavement on his head 😁
And they're all just normal people now, not living in a slum. Because Mr. Beast owns a gang and due to being good now he has access to ultimate power and can help all of his new masters friends live a slightly better life.
The movie starts with the city being covered by the dark when the evil Axe Gang taking control and it ends with the lightful Candy shop bringing joy to the peaceful city. The good always prevails over the evil. And also watching this movie as someone who is familiar with the cultural references from both the West and the East makes me appreciate even more how good this film is.
I lost count the amount of times I've watched this film and never realised at 9:16 we see the barber talking to a girl with his ass hanging out, the guy who beat up sing on the tram and the landlady's husband with another woman.

The first step is peace among yourself and realizing you are the One, then finally taking responsibility of others as truly befitting of a god to feel.
Half the people from the slum are visible. Now that the new axe gang boss' reformed kung fu killer is in charge, he likely helped everyone at least get out of severe poverty.
