Thanks dude now i can model packaging for ferrero rocher
Yeah hazelnut and chocolate! Darn, now I’m craving it haha! Thanks!!
@Gerardo Enoch is it similar like Netflix?
It’s a bot Hazim. They keep hitting all of us. I’d stay clear as this kind of marketing tactic seems shady af.
Kev, thank you so much for this video! It's EXACTLY what I need! I really really like your tutorials because if your steps are followed, one will achieve the exact results you get, and learn along the way. You are demystifying nodes in Blender for me. Thank you again!
Awesome! I was hoping that I could do a video that hit the mark with gold leaf and explain it well enough to help. Thank You!
thanks for explaining how displacement node works with cycles ( and extra settings to enable ). Love the fact you can just use height with it
You’re welcome. Yeah, it’s useful. Thanks!
That "hot" shape was pretty cool though. Made the sphere look like gold coral at that point.
Lol! Yeah, I guess it did haha! Thanks!
cool but not realistic
Not ever done experimenting....I used different textures for the second texture, including wave or musgrave. Oh my.....fidget with the settings...WOW. I applied this to a vase I made from the lathe (spin) modifier. Endless possibilities and beautiful gold. Thank you for the tutorial!
Awesome!!! You’re right about experimenting! It’s addictive haha! Thanks!!!
Kev is lit. Love your tuts man.
Thanks! I need to get lit haha.
@@KevBinge ;) lol.
Love it ! Thank you very much for sharing.
More procedural shaders please !!!
Thanks! Will do!
@@KevBinge Thanks !!! :)
Thanks Kevbinge.
You’re welcome Spacecookie! Great name btw!!
If you just want a kapton foil type, just distort the object you want using subdivide and then add a glossy shader
That would work. Thanks!
Cool one mate that will come in handy for my game later on!
Awesome! Thanks!!!
Terrific. Works beautifully. Thank you!
You’re welcome 😀
Great insight into Procedural nodes. Thanks!
Thanks! You’re welcome!
Exactly what I needed, thx friend.
You’re welcome.
Dude, good job!
Ur blender looks amaizing. Can you explain more, about your themes and utilities, which you use?
Thanks! I’m actually just using nothing but the basic Blender 2.8 install. I do that so everyone and anyone can follow along. Does that help?
Wow! That material is voronoice~ hur hur thanks for the breakdown
Voronoice Lol... I love it!!
thank you so much! Clear and easy tutorial, helped me a lot!
You’re welcome Jane! Thanks!
thank you very much Sir. This is really a cool material
Thank you!!
you recorded this while it was raining!
I can hear the rain!!
Quite possible.
Thank you!!! I'm making a gold spherical sprinkle on my donut)))
Awesome!!
Great video! Just what I was looking for for my ISS inspired project!
This works well for MLI.
@@KevBinge MLI?
The ISS is wrapped in multi-layer insulation. It’s the mylar stuff on parts of the ISS and satellites.
@@KevBinge Oh okay! Never seen that abbreviation before, thanks.
You’re welcome.
TY Kev
You’re welcome 😀
Thanks now i can texture my Apollo 11 model
Awesome!!! This is great for MLI!
so great!! making a music video with thisss
Very cool!! I’d love to see it when it’s finished.
@@KevBinge Just Remembered your comment now! Here it is :) ua-cam.com/video/JZ8P9KJNtWQ/v-deo.html
Perfect Video!
Thank you!
THank you so much, i've save my works
funnily enough- a seamless backdrop or a set where it curves from horizontal towards the camera to vertical in the background is called a foil
I learn something new every day haha! Thanks!!
Awesome tutorial... again! Thanks mate, and subscribed for this!
Awesome! Thanks!!!!
awesome
Thanks!
Thanks for the information.
You’re welcome!
thank you, it is really helpful for beginners like me
You’re welcome, and thank you!
Brilliant.
Thanks!!
Thanks for the guide! Somehow my ball of gold foil ends up looking more like the surface of the sun, but then again I've barely opened Blender before, so I'm probably doing something wrong.
The sun is good, just dial it back a little ☀️😀. Thanks!
MERCI BEAUCOUP !!!!!!!
de rien!
Thanks, very helpful.
You’re welcome, and thanks!!
YAY! BLENDER 2.8!
Ya!!
Very cool! I like your technique but I wonder..why can't the displacement thing work in Eevee?
It doesn’t work as you’d expect yet. When it does you can be sure I’ll do a video on it. Right now I use a displace deformer. Thanks!
Hi Kev, this tutorial is awesome! I noticed that in my blender the Voronoi Texture node doesn't have a "Fac" output... what would you recommend in this case to get it to look like yours? Thanks so much!
They’ve changed it. I’d say try “distance to edge.” That might work well. Thanks!!
Would have been nice if you hid the giant gizmo covering the sphere...great vid though
Thanks!
TY ! :)
You’re welcome. Thanks!!
Thank you
You’re welcome.
awesome..thanks! Did you get the displacement with a noise texture work on eeveem, too? I don't find a method to use a noise texture as value for displacement in eevee, just bump works.
Thanks! Yes, bump works in EEVEE right now but not the same type of node-based displacement at the time of this writing at least. To displace in EEVEE, I use a displacement modifier and match the node-based one as best I can. This will probably change in the future and it will work with nodes.
😍 once was Goldfinger, now it’s Goldshader. Pls let me ask: where you got the Screencast keys for 2.80 from, you’re utilising here?
Lol! Goldshader haha! The screencast addon is here: www.blendernation.com/2018/08/31/blender-2-8-screencast-keys-add-on/
blenderBinge , Thanks 🙏. Didn’t really use 2.80 yet, that super cool photo studio cove scene/world/background/whatever, is it part of 2.80, also an add-on or your invention?
I built that. It’s a simple plane that Is sliced up and modeled, and I added the lights to it just for this tutorial. I’ve been using a setup like this for a while as it mimics a simple photo studio setup. Thanks!
blenderBinge , ahhh, ok, thanks. I already assumed this, but being Blender newbie, I have yet no clue if stuff like that is, for whatever reason, out there or not.
I am using the latest version 2.81a, and the "Voronoi Texture" node looks completely different. I followed this tutorial and it looks kind of gold, but mine is kind of round overall, without those sharp flat faces. I have tried selecting different values in the Voronoi Texture, but I could not get the flat faces.
Yeah, that node was changed in 2.81. I need to update this at some point.
Hey, same here... could not follow the tutorial anymore :(
Nice video 0 dislike 😁😁😁
Thanks! Now that you said that it will probably get one. There are people out there that just thumbs down everything but create nothing lol!
Nice!
Thank you!
🎵👍🎵Awesomeness!
Thanks!!
ur content is awesome new subscriber ; )
Thanks! Welcome 😀😀
@@KevBinge : )
Hi Kev, love your channel! I'm looking for a 100% procedural, Eevee-friendly, felt material to achieve a Muppet look. Would you happen to know how to create such a material?
I do. I’ll do a video on it soon. For now, look at Blender Guru’s teddy bear video. It’s not felt but it’s pretty close for the time being.
@@KevBinge Oh cool! Thanks a lot man!
Damn son. That's bad ass. Need this shader for my life. I want to apply it to my actual life. is that possible? Tutorial please?
Sure! Go to a food store, any food store that sells chocolate. Look for Ferrero Rocher fine Hazelnut chocolates. Eat the whole box (this is important.). Save the wrappers. Stitch them together. Wrap them around a softball. Add some lights from around the house... and BAM... you have this in real life! Thanks!!!
@@KevBinge I can't eat all that shit. I got 3 dogs tho. Do dogs like chocolate?
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I'll ask my cousin who's a vet, maybe he knows. lol J/k, it can stop a dog's heart for anyone reading this who doesn't get the joke.
blenderBinge And you know we got “geniuses” reading this thinking “my dog would love some chocolate!”
Hahahahahahahahaha!!! 🤣
awesome thanks man
You’re welcome 😀😀
Спасибо БОЛЬШОЕ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!💖💖💖
Спасибо Katya!! 😀
Yeah... just the right kind of tutorial on a Sunday Morning: Money grows on trees and Gold is made in Blender! Get filthy rich now!!!
Hahahahaha!!! I wish I could print gold from Blender!
awesome tut really
..but is it right that the program is lagging abit when in node editor ? cuz i have this problem
Thanks! It could be. Different graphics cards, computer specs, Blender beta builds, day of the week, planetary alignments, magic, lol... Sometimes a reboot fixes those lags on my end, or sometimes just downloading a new build fixes it too. I wish there were one easy solution haha!!
Justtttt Greaaaaaaattttt
Lol!
Why in my blender 2.8 these area lights with all your settings produce extrem less brightness ? I have to set to 5000 W instead of 50 W.
This was an older beta build of 2.8. I’ve noticed a few changes. It depends too on he distance of the light to the subject. There’s a natural inverse square falloff for light. I’d say play with it until it looks right.
Same question, nice that it has been answered
cool
Thanks!
Thanks dude. Now I can make my tin foil hat.
You’re welcome. It seems many have already made theirs 🤣
im so late, thx man
It’s never too late to start something new. You’re welcome!
awsome just made a kilo for my NFT lol
Nice! I hope it sells!
how can you make it export as a texture file?
Do you know how to render anime style scenes in Eevee?
I do. What about it, the shading, lighting, etc?
@@KevBinge shading
Yes. I’ll add that to the list. It would take a video 😀. Thanks!!
Yes. I’ll add that to the list. It would take a video 😀. Thanks!!
@@KevBinge thank you so much for considering.
Hello blenderbinge, is there any way to "convert" the applied material to the texture (image file)? Because i need that to port the object to the game engine.
Yes. You can “bake” the textures. It’s a long process to type out here but you can check this out: docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/cycles/baking.html
Also, I’ve seen quite a few videos detailing this for 2.8. If you search for “bake texture” you’ll probably come across more information than you need 😀
Nothing happens when I change it from "Bump" to "Displacement and Bump" and I have double checked everything, does it just not owrk in the latest update?
It should. Do you have “experimental” checked? Many miss that.
how'd you curve the backdrop like that?
I sliced a plane a couple of times (“tab” then “ctrl + r”) and then lifted the back edges up. Then I added a subdivision surface modifier and it curves pretty nicely.
@@KevBinge thank you :D
You’re welcome 😁
You can also select the edge and press Ctrl + B (Bevelling) and increase the amount of segments to make it look curvy.
Weta should have watched this before making The Hobbit 2
Haha! Weta does awesome work, but thanks!!
These tutorials are always for cycles, I only know how to use internal render :(
Unfortunately they stopped developing internal. I can help you get into Cycles if you want. It’s a great engine!
@@KevBinge the problem I have with cycles is the nodes, I can never figure it out even with other tutorials
They are tough at first, but once it clicks, things fall into place. CGMatter (Default Cube) has a super long video on it.

I will do a Rocket
