You don't need to 'go in and copy the hex code'. The editor supports standard copy/paste operations over the color swatch of the nodes. Hover over the box, copy, place over the box of a different node, paste. Saves times.
Not even doing gold and yet I still come back here for your gold texture tutorial since it can be applied in so many ways. Lots of neat things done here.
You saved my life bro! I had to submit a project with similar texture... I was fed up looking for it online. Now that you've made a tutorial I'm gonna try it out! Thanks! Keep the good work up. ❤️
FYI you dont have to click into the color, then into the hex value to copy. Just hover your pointer over the color preview on the node (long rectangle) and ctrl + C - then hover over the color preview you want to change, and ctrl + V
This is art. Just a heads up though although i am trash at blender, instead of copying the hex codes, you can hover overthe color and copy it to paste into other blender clolor fields :)
that's funny, I was about to make almost exactly the same comment (as I see three other people also already made) except use blender peon instead of trash. :)
Im really stalled before i can really get started. i start with new material and pump up the metallic and I'm in the same view but even so my material is just flat. i feel like im missing something vital not being shown.
Nice work, looks great. FYI, you're having a influential impact on the next generation of 3d artists. My 10 year old daughter has been copying your tutorials for the last year & thinks your great, probably because she's convinced you're Wil Wheaton & I can't convince her otherwise LOL. Anyway, thanks for another great tutorial & costing me $4,000 for my daughters new laptop so she can keep up with your tuts. Stay safe & keep on smiling 😀😉
Thanks again for another tutorial. It would be immensely helpful if, near the end of your tuts, you backed out and showed the whole node tree for a few seconds so we can double check all the wiring.
Hey! I'm having problems with the part in which you add the mapping and the texture coordinate. My monkey becomes pink and I couldn't work out why. Any help?
2:11 You just dont hav to click on the hex code, hover your mouse over it and just click ctrl c and it will be copied. And it also applies to pasting the code (just hover your cursor over it and ctrl v) 3:00 yeah new update wont allow it😪 And.... please explain what is 'specular'?
Mine turns hot pink after the noise texture.. I tried this kinda thing before, is it my graphics card ? old computer, standard card, cant really get past the principled BFDS.
Little note: You can also drag and drop colours Edit: You can also use a Fresnel or Layer Weight node to mix the shaders and you get a different effect based on angle of view 😁
PLEASE HELP - I can't plug the noise texture into a bump map. It looks like a bug. The model just turns pink. I can get it into a normal map node though.
Heeey. The part where you link Mapping & Texture Coordinate - I can't add two lines to vector (when i try, the other one dissapears). I need some kind of a plugin, correct?
i have a problem, whenever i make a texture that has a texture coordinate note, when i animate my object, the texture animate and its nnot stable to the object, is there a way that i can fix that?
This is verry cool but i have kind a probleme with it .turquoise is oxydation .and the best quality of gold is that it dosent oxydate 😅 copper does ! ❤❤
very cool tutorials, I have a question though, how would anybody make these cool screen tearing glitch effects @9_cc as seen in this excerpt from a video
Then I turned off the Metallic - ewww! Thank you for another excellent material shaders tutorial. Now we 3D artists can model and animate the food in the back of our fridges!
... then I turned up Specular and set Roughness to zero on the mold shader. Now it looks like those slimy bacterial films that form on very decayed organic materials. Ewww triple-strength!
Hi, this is such a cool tutorial! I’ve just got one problem though: my noise texture node doesn’t have a roughness value…? I’m using blender 2.81, but i’m still getting used to nodes lol. Is there any way to fix or circumvent this??
Hi, thanks for the tutorial - it's super useful!! Actually I was wondering if there is a way to change the colour where the "not shiny gold". So in your example: would there be a way to have the green parts only on the rough parts of the head?
Regarding 3d Animation in Evee engine, I am having some problem. I am rendering exact settings but the video is coming out as grey background with dark outlines for the objects and no lights. I constructed very simple settings with light shining on a square tunnel. Pls someone explain what is happening. When I am playing the animation in blender it looks good, but after rendering it sucks 😭
Yes, my rendered view is completely different, exactly as I want it to be, but my rendered video is only a grey background with black outlines for the objects. I used the cycles engine, the colour as planned was there but the same 2d outline was also present.
@@goblinslayer6432 2d outline? maybe you have accidentally enable "Freestyle" (the 2d stroke effect renderer option you can find at the bottom of the render properties)? Also, when you say "a gray background", do you mean that you've set an environment texture for your background and it's not displaying on your renders?
@@the-mush environment texture? But my camera is inside a tunnel with a square cross-section. It doesn't go out, but only follows a bieger circle which is completely inside, and the open end of the tunnel at the direction of the camera is closed off by an emission plane. Regarding the 2d effect can u pls explain more?
@@goblinslayer6432 Ok, now I think I understand your situation more; you simply have the default background and you are not seeing your models on the renders? For the 2d effect, look up "Freestyle". It's just a tool that tries to find edges on your render and draws strokes on top to simulate a cartoon or drawing effect. You'll notice if it's enable because it always draws the lines _after_ your render has finished all the "samples" (when it stops going from grainy to not-so-grainy). You can disable/enable it by going to Properties panel > Render Properties tab > check/uncheck the box right next to "Freestyle" near the bottom of the panel (you might need to scroll down to see it). Now that I think of it... when you say "dark outlines" do you mean that you only see "dark lines" where the objects should be (sort of like a "wireframe" view); or that you see "dark silhouettes", that is, solid objects but just way darker than what you see in the 3d viewport?
Well, this is visually good but I'm not sure if this is accurate. There must be a very low amount of gold in the metallic alloy to consider it accurate, but to be fair gold is generally used because he does not corrode easily, since his reaction with oxygen is very limited and depends greatly on the percentage of the added metal. If you turned the gold into copper this might be much more accurate I would say. Well nvm someone already pointed it out.
@@TheDucky3D Yeah, you need to change the title to "Easy impossible weathered gold material". The characteristics of money/gold are durability, portability, divisibility, uniformity, limited supply, and acceptability.
Gold is a very soft material and does weather, but being fundamentally inert means it does not corrode easily. It is common, however, for gold-plated materials to suffer from corrosion, especially once the gold-plating is compromised by damage or weathering.
Considering the fact that I'm a complete noob at blender this channel is so insanely helpful
Why do I keep watching tutorials for a program that I don’t even have? 😂 Ducky3d must just be that good!!!
Oh my goodness that’s great, I’m glad you find them entertaining
Blender is yours to keep for a mere 0 dubloons!
