Funfact Blender Edition:ifyou use a musgrave, and you want a highly impure gold bar, "i.e lots of small imperfections" then use a musgrave texture and scale up to 800, then 15 detail, then plug that into a color ramp like in the vid, hope this helps anybody with a more dirty envirment, like a mine with gold bars made in the mine, hope this helps! ps, in the vid thats for a small amount of noise i think, idk tho
Ryan you Rock!! lol (pun intended) I love, love, love Blender but hate nodes (don't know why) ... you made nodes interesting and fun, fun, fun. Years of avoiding nodes, bump maps and shading have been eradicated!! : D You brought color to my sad grayscale models. Sometimes it just takes little nuggets of gold to "click". You're the best!!
Pretty sure your specks at 10:50 are just noise in the viewport render that the denoise system doesn't have enough samples to smooth out. Don't quote me on that though
@@RyanKingArt Isn't it just the musgrave texture from the nugget part? I'm using 4/noise texture, but it looks the same. That's what it is for me anyway, I scaled it up to make it less apparent and my roughness is at .1, it looks pretty cool. "Polished gold"
If you watch my Procedural Concrete material, I make cracks in the concrete. You can use that method to add cracks to the Gold. Here is the part in the tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/XDqRa0ExDqs/v-deo.html Hope this helps!

Hello! Thanks for the video tutorial. I'm having problems when trying to bake the material. I tried a Diffuse, a Glossy, a Trasmission and a Normal bake map, but aside this last one, the other two generates completely black textures! When I try the combine method I can see the the material, but I need the base color. Thanks for your help!
That's because its a metallic material. You need to use a different baking method for metallic materials. I have a tutorial on how to do that here: ua-cam.com/video/aaRspfc9OBU/v-deo.html
This is just what I needed for the gold details of my battleaxe model. I also want to create a black-ish damastic steel alloy in a medieval style on some of the structural elements of the axe. How would I go about that? Thanks for the content.
Alright. I will see what I can do. What animation do you have in mind? I'm working on a few sculpting tutorials right now, but maybe I can make an animation tutorial soon.
@@RyanKingArt Hi Ryan King, Well, I might have an exact idea for a college animation. Something like the sci-fi robot or something with a text animation. I am not a good artist myself. I have specialized in that I like to work on tutorials. And search almost every day on UA-cam if I can find something new in terms of animation. Unfortunately, there are very few in German and if they are often very bad. I don't know why the Germans brag so much about what they can do with Blender, but in fact it's nothing. So I enter my search in English, and sihe da, there come the best tutorials. My problem is that I understand very bad English or can read. And to learn English I am a bit too old. But since I'm not an absolute beginner at Blender, I can still work well after that. And in terms of sculpting that is not my world. I have a graphic tablet from Gaomon but I can't manage with it and it doesn't work well with my iMac. So the new part is lying around in the closet. Without anyone using it. So that's a little much written now. I hope you do not mind. Thanks again. Translated with DeepL

First, I followed the tutorial and the result was good then I purchased the project file and it was even better so thank you for both. We know that Gold and Chrome are the top metals used in any decorative combination for 3D Logos animations and many other fields. Since we got the gold, our attention is moved to the chrome now, I guess changing the color ramp colors to grey shades doesn't give the required chrome effect, So can we get a similar tutorial and a project file for this Chrome procedural material? Please! give it a thought, I believe it is worth it. Thanks again
Hi, im having a bit of an issue. My gold material has some weird black dots and I think it makes it look a little bit more pixelated. Thanks for the tutorial.
Also, the specks probably come from like blender trying to calculate the shininess of the gold, and when it's higher, it's not very shiny, and so it doesn't really have any calculating to do.
Something is pink? Maybe you moved a texture so Blender doesn't know where its located on your computer. If that's the problem, then add the texture or HDRI back into Blender, and the Pink should go away.
But, Sir, these colours, that You create by Color Ramp must be generated by Reflection. Only in a Reflection way, You can say that those material are Physical correct. In Your way, this material can't be used in most cases, only just like a shiny, bumpy rock. Nothing personal, just PBR. ;-)

To use the material in a game engine, you will need to bake it to texture maps. Check out my video on how to texture bake procedural materials.
