I think I may have already told you but I worked for Boston from 1975-78. The harmony vocals you hear aren't sung by the rest of the band. It's all lead singer Brad Delp. I remember the Saturday in the studio when he did the overdubs. Brad was pure precision behind that 🎤 mic. He could throw down four-part harmonies like it was nothing. He and Foreigner's Lou Gramm are two of the vocalists that had near-perfect pitch. And Brad could bring it up an octave at a time like it was nothing.
I'm from the North Shore area and remember seeing him perform in bars several times when some of my other musician friends who knew him took me to see him singing with other local bands before the first Boston album was released. He was definitely phenomenal even then, and nearly all the local musicians either knew or had heard of him. We had a lot of mutual friends.
It is a crime that Boston isn’t in the Rock N Roll Hall of fame ! They are one of the best rock bands out there and have so many timeless classics ! Keep those Boston reactions coming !! “Can’t ya say you believe in me” is another underrated hit off the same album…
Rock and Roll hall of fame is a complete joke! They are too busy adding Country music stars to add bona fide rock legends like Boston or Iron Maiden. I have given up on them. I thought they were making progress when they stopped snubbing Judas Priest and Pat Benatar, but this years snubbing of Iron Maiden while letting in Willie Nelson was the final straw for me. Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton absolutely belong in the hall of fame in their genre of music, but that genre is country.

"Amanda" (1986) was Boston's only #1 Billboard Hot 100 hit. Between 1976 - 1994, Boston charted 10 singles on the Hot 100, 4 reached the Top 10 including "Amanda."

Then the announcement came for Third Stage which THEN I ran out and got DLB waiting for this out of control and well worth the wait album! So, basically I got 2 Boston albums at around the same time lol. YAY!

On to "The Launch/Cool The Engines".
This album was recorded entirely in Tom Scholz home studio, a very eclectic little space that Tom put together and even invented some of the equipment that he records with. I was fortunate to do some work in it for him in the 90's.
Boston has always had such a great sound, the harmonies and mixes were top-notch musicianship and engineering, and "Amanda" is probably the best example of that.
Boston is always great!!! The chorus in this song is to die for!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Lol from a tin can😂😂. You're getting there, it'll be fine!
Boston is legendary!!!! Great reaction.
Sublime song. One of the greatest rock power ballads ever. Delp and Scholz own this forever.
FINALLY!!!!! I've their AMANDA! I have their first three albums, and yes, I bought them when they first came out in the '70's!
Love this song! And many of theirs- of course a top favorite of mine is “More than a feeling.” 🙂
Brad Delp what a beautiful voice we are blessed to have had him
Thanks for this one you two. I haven't heard this in forever and it brings back memories I had forgotten 😊
LOVE BOSTON!! I'm SURE Several Hits would be on my All Time Top 40 List! Very Complex and Layered w/Harmony!! And Amber, I've mentioned a number of times before, Your Insight is Great.... '...Probably About a Girl Named Amanda...' Ha! .. just RIBBING You on this one... :) :) Great Choice & Reaction You Guys!! :)
Oh my goodness! I've not heard this in years! Love it....✌❤🎶
THE BIG HIT OFF OF THEIR 3RD ALBUM ( THIRD STAGE ) 😊
"Cool the engines" is another great song on this album.
💖💖💖
My favorite group from the 70's. Brad Delp had such a wonderful voice. ❤
I liked the group basically because they were from Boston! I don’t live to far from Boston! Their sound is so singsong which I love💕
Another great ballad from Boston is "A Man I'll Never Be."
I LOVE the way Brad sings this song! I waited YEARS for this album I was only 1 when the first album came out and started listening to it at 2-3. My Mother ( "+" ) is the one that used to play it and I just started playing it all the time... she didn't get Don't Look Back but by the time I realized that there was no other albums I knew of I was like what happened to Boston? Then the announcement came for Third Stage which THEN I ran out and got DLB waiting for this out of control and well worth the wait album! So, basically I got 2 Boston albums at around the same time lol. YAY!
Boston is my all time favorite band with Bad Company coming in second. Boston is the kind of music you turn out the lights plug in your head phones and turn it up!! Brad's voice!!
Honestly my first exposure to Boston was "Higher Power" because it was the first song on the album that my Aunt got me for Christmas one year.
This is such a CHILL song! Boston has such a great harmony, both with their voices and their instruments, and they are one gelled unit. Love ya Boston and live ya Rob Squad!
Whole different feel for Boston, and still love it.
This long awaited album came out the same time I got my drivers license and first car. I played the heck out of this tape.
I recommend reacting to Holyann - the final track on this album. It’s paints a beautiful story and Brad Delp’s vocals are out of this world.
Saw them live in Tacoma WA for the tour for this album and they were so good in concert, I had a great time
