    Hi Ian, thank you very much for making these tutorials. I am facing some problems as I have one machine that will do the whole job. I have primary monitor (GUI) and LED screen. Both connected to same Nvidia card display 1 and display 2. I migh find answer from the comment to my issue already but may I ask you to confirm what is your setup you are using in this tutorial. Is it all-in-one or do you have multiple machines (primary, slave etc.)
    Thanks in advance!

    In 5.1 I get to the point where you add the icvfx camera and the frustum is supposed to appear, but the frustum does not appear, any idea why?

    Hi Ian, love your work and thanks for all the help! Quick question, regarding 14:52, if im working on unreal 5.1 and assign the cine camera actor 1 my camera and frustrum disappears, is this normal?

    • @ianfursa9529
      @ianfursa9529  Рік тому

      Hey! Appreciate that! In theory it should be pretty much the same in the video. If you have tracking connected you might want to make sure your cine camera actor that is in the level (not the one in ndisplay window) is in the correct place. If your cine camera is somewhere else int he level due to tracking not being calibrated or it just have a transform offset then it won’t show as a preview on the ndisplay projection preview. So basically make sure you’re assigning it to a camera that is in the correct place. Take a look at “camera cameras actor 1’s transform in the details panel and make sure that it is parented to your ndisplay/stage config and then try setting all of the location to 0 to see if it snaps back. Let me know how it goes or if you’ve already figured this out!

    Hello, I'm following your tutorial, I don't know a bit about Unreal Engine, when I create my "CinemaCameraActor" I can't attach it to my nDisplayconfig, it tells me that "Actors have to be on the same level" but I don't get it, I guess it's something very simple but I don't know how to do it.

    First, thank you for the tutorials. This is been challenging. So many issues. I can get an image on my wall, but it's just a tiny portion of the whole display. using 5.1. That's using one machine.[FIXED] I was remoting into the machine using Parsec, and it was changing the screen resolutions. Went into the studio and it works great! onto the next phase of multiuser and multi maching] I can't get it to communicate with a server. It communicates but returns error code 23 and quits. Switchboard listener and switchboard only run from the exe and not from within unreal. thoughts? Also, any tutorials on setting up all the render servers?

    • @ianfursa9529
      @ianfursa9529  Рік тому

      Hey thanks for commenting! Parsec definitely changes the GPU driver settings and I’ve had so many issues with it on set. Now adays mostly using Splashtop business and VNC Ultra when I’m in studio talking to other nodes. 5.1 is a tricky with Multi-user right now! It doesn’t seem to work anymore using one instance of the Project for multiple instances of Unreal. The way around this is to have two copies of the project. We cover how to setup all the Editor Node, Render Node and Files syncing for multiple node for nDisplay clusters in our Operators Training Course. You can check it out at vp-toolkit.com! Also please take a look at (and subscribe if you’d like) to the new VP Toolkit UA-cam channel. Most of the new content and tutorials will be coming out there!

    Awesome tutorial Ian. Do you know if there is a way to dynamically assign a scene camera to the "nDisplay ICVFX camera"? I'm not putting the stage actors in a separate level and streaming it like you suggest because sometimes I need to reference actors from the particular scene in blueprints in my stage. That's why I copy the stage´s actors to different levels. The problem is that the nDisplay config has the reference to the camera of only one of the levels, not allowing me to re-use the same nDisplay config for different levels or forcing me to manually change the associated camera in the config everytime I want to change levels.

    • @ianfursa9529
      @ianfursa9529  2 роки тому

      Yeah needing to re-assign is definitely a drawback to copying your stage into levels, but as you said… the only way to connect it to animated level objects. Could potentially program something like my Frustum widget to set the frustum cine camera using a tag and it’d just automatically assign whatever you have tagged as frustum camera to be your icvfx cine cameras

    • @benjavides
      @benjavides 2 роки тому

      @@ianfursa9529 Ohh so there is a way to do it. I couldn't find a function to assign that icvfx camera through blueprints. Is it only exposed in C++? It has a weird behaviour too, is the only place in Unreal where I've seen the dropdown of options to asign to a variable, change based on the opened level.

Basicly it conects, everything minimize, a black windows apears and then gets closed and the NDisplay gets disconected at Switchboard. We tried at new proyects and diferent PCs but there is no way to solve it, i really need help. Someone knows if there is some issues with 5.2.1 Switchboard? Also we tried at 5.03 and it works again, but we need the newer version.

      You have to add whats the width of your first screen is in resolution to the node x offset. Go into you ndisplay config, select your node (bottom left of screen) in the details window find where you enter your screen resolution and the X input field there above you will want to put the res width from your first screen (for 4K it would be 3840) You will also want to make sure that in window display settings none of your screens have a scale offset (they should be at 100%) this is less important for the first editing screen. Also make sure your added screen is to the right and align at the top with your primary screen (if you’re following thee instructions) Using a single machine just means you have to use ALT+TAB to switch between the render and the intance of the editor.

    pls I have question . how I can add buleprint with Ndisplay ?
    for example : i want to press F to make any action (blueprint) with Ndisplay

    • @ianfursa9529
      @ianfursa9529  Рік тому

      Well pressing keys to trigger events with nDisplay becomes a little complex because when you’re running multiple machines then only the one you press the key on will translate over to the nDisplay render. There might be ways around that I haven’t found yet. Basically though you can just add whatever blueprinting you want to the ndisplay config itself (it has a blueprinting section) you can add a blueprint actor to the level and put your logic in there, or you can do your blueprinting within the level blueprint that your ndisplay lives in. From there you just need to reference the ndisplay config from the level as a variable and then do with it what you will. I normally replace using key presses with touchOSC on ipad and using a basic OSC server in unreal to pick up and use the OSC command from the Ipad.
