Thanks a lot!
Hi Ian,
Thanks for the very comprehensive series. It helped me a lot getting a basic setup with a vive tracker and ndisplay working on a local machine (both remote & ndisplay node on the same machine using switchboard). Now I'm trying to have the nDisplay node on a different machine. Everything works (switchboard, remote control, firing up the node on the remote pc, etc.) except for the tracker data. In the editor (connected to switchboard) the tracking works, but it does not update the data on the nDisplay node. Do you have any idea what i'm missing?
thanks!
So a lot of multi-node setup has to do with networking. If you’re using the vrpn method of getting tracking to ndisplay you wanna make sure that your signal is being scene by the other computer. I normally recommend just opening your project/editor and checking the Livelink signal that way until you get it working, then it should work in ndisplay once you fire that up. If you’ve gone the Livelinkxr route with your setup then you’re limited to a single machine because there is nothing broadcasting the signal on tgw network
great, thanks! That worked, I switched to livelinkXR temporarily and forgot to switch back to VRPN... :)
@@mtijn777 livelinkxr is definitely easier to setup and get going but has its limits. Glad you got it going! 🤙🏻
Where i get serever name in ue5?
I dont get a cmd pop up as you
And may i ask. Switchboard saying that cannot start UnrealEngine.exe. even the path is correct. What can I do about that?
great tutorial ,thanks.
I have an issue, I can see the output but it is like a frozen image the of the scene (time is moving tho) and it doesn't update in real-time if I move things in the editor.
whatever I do on the editor , it doesnt update the listner
Can you help ?
so I have two PCs , editor and Listner
do I need two Clusters for that ? or two nodes ?
Thank you for your video! But when I create the session ,i got a message that "Display: Session creation failed. (User: admin, Reason: Session 'MU_Session' could not be created, no session repository was mounted to store it" but I have already save all . Could you please tell me why
Actually have no idea why this happens! If you haven’t worked it out already, I found a full re-start of the project/multi-user server to fix this in most cases. You also wanna make sure that your Switchboard isn’t already making a Multi-user server automatically if you’re using the method/workflow within these videos.
Boss, How can I use linetracebychannel with ndisplay correctly?
Hi Ian,I have a problem.I used Optitrack as a source of location data.but Mluti did not synchronize location data in NDISPALY and UE4.27.When I shake the camera, I can see Cinacamera moving in the ue but the picture output on the screen does not move.
Hey did you get this figured out? Generally you wanna look at your networking setup for issues like this but also make sure you’re having your livelink setup as a preset and then going into project setting/livelink and setting that preset you saved to be the default so that ndisplay knows what preset to use when it fires up. Good way to test this is to open up an editor on your machine that ndisplay is running if it auto populates the livelink setting and is running properly. If its not then try to process again. I’ve had issues with the first preset I make not really sticking.
I dont know if you’re responding to comments but if im a another person how would i join someone session?
Did have option to run project from a build instead of uproject ?
Wow haven’t worked with doing it that way for years. Not going to lie, I’m not sure how to go about it with switchboard and a compiled project. If you go back to one of my much older videos I show how to use the ndisplay launcher which had the option for doing it with a compiled version of Unreal. I’d assume that there is the option to do this with switchboard but have’s ventured there myself.
@@ianfursa9529 thanks for replay
