    No shortage .... no shortage .... When company drivers spend 5 days OTR and ends up with $500 .... you will never 👎 find drivers .
    Turn overs will be high rockets 🚀

    There is not a shortage of drivers. There is a shortage of honest trucking companies that don't rip off their drivers.

    Sorry no shortage. Truck driving is basically working 80 hour weeks. You will lose your family because you will never see them. The first year you will be lucky to make $500 for those 80hrs. %90 who start quit the first year.

    I love how they talking about truckers shortage and not talking about increasing wage of the truckers. Yeah, lower the age from 21 to 18 and have 10 times more crashes. 21 is already too young. Minimum 23, preferably 25. This job requires certain level of maturity, which only comes with age.

    • @killiantitan3711
      @killiantitan3711 3 роки тому

      18 is too young I agree with you on that but not 21. I'm 21 and I just got into truck driving as a flatbed OTR driver. People tell me all the time I don't act my age they always think I'm older until I tell them I'm only 21. With that being said I say it depends on the individual not the age unless they're under 21 which is understandable.

      If you can send a 18 year old too war, you should be able to send them out in a truck. But yeah definitely need to up the wages for truckers. There is hardly any incentive.

    In addition to low pay, how about the stress to deliver "on"(arbitrary)time. How about more time home so the drivers actually have a life and Children don't have to wonder when am I going to see my dad again. and livable rigs. How about encouraging couples teams.
    Every body want free shipping, they don't care about the people out there putting with STUFF on the road to make this country work, Nah they just click and wonder why it cant be there any sooner.
    If you work for a company they pay you peanuts. If You're an Owner/Operate the what to low ball your rate.
    You get what you pay for, don't cry about it.

    We don’t have shortage of drivers, we have shortage of drivers willing to work for nothing. Wages suck benefits are nonexistent.

  • @ace296703
    @ace296703 3 роки тому +5

    exactly You can't expect a driver to work for peanuts that's why there is a lack of drivers, There are a lot of companies treat drivers with very little respect also.. I do extensive research before I would hire on with a company..Companies should step up there game and take care of the drivers.

    Every time you see news stories like this one, we need to pick up the phone right away and call the stations to let them know about the ATA generated BS that they are spreading,''
    I am getting so sick of copy-and-paste 'reporters' repeating this garbage.

    There’s just a lot of companies that don’t treat drivers well even though they’ll try to tell you otherwise on their websites. You would someone who has to spend a lot of time on the road alone would be treated very well by companies.

    Megacarrier take advantage of drivers. At the end longhaul truck driver are making same money as someone working at wearhouse. The average of per hour pay is about$12.40 cents only. That’s included you have to sleeep in teucka when you are overthe road.

    It's been 32 years for me got my CDL in 1289 it was class D then but I had to go back to truck driving school to get my CDL that came out in 1990 1--1-1990. It was a shortage then because most of the drivers couldn't pass the CDL test..

    Quit testing applicants for pot and your pool of applicants would more than double. Forget the feds and just do it. Trucking industry had a great track record prior to the advent of drug testing. There was no "safety crisis" regarding drug use among truck drivers. Reagan started that BS. A generation has come and gone since then. Let stoners drive again.
