Cold and Hungry This Friendly Dog Was Waiting For Someone To Save Her | Howl Of A Dog

- This friendly dog was found underweight, her paws were red and irritated because of the wet and cold concrete floor of that pound she was saved from, and she was suffering from intestinal infection. Receiving medical care, Harper recovered and she’s now healthy and becoming more cheerful every day: she loves to play with toys or run through the yard and she gets along well with other dogs and with cats. She is medium size (~20 kg / 44 lbs), around 2 yrs old, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.
Harper is in our care at @HowlOfADog in Romania, but can also be adopted internationally in the US, Canada and Europe. If you’d like to welcome her into your family, please visit our website.

she is such a beautiful girl both Natured and attractive and still full of bottled up fun and silly puppy excitement so i wished i lived in Romania but here in Australia we have heaps needing rescuing here, whoever is lucky enough to be chosen by you and the dog will be so happy and would really suit a first dog owner who is set only on a puppy, it would be a easy sell! say nothing just leave them together for 20min and they won't be able to leave without her, she really looks like a Australian Kelpie! what breed is she?

He is a Boston Bulldog and the circumstances were that one town had its animal shelter burn down so another town was taking the strays, but on a strict 30 day limit before euthanasia.... I got him on a Sunday when the animal control officer made a special trip just to let me see the dog.

I rescued a dog once and he was starving so bad that he would only nibble at the food bowl full of food. It took me a couple days to realize he was rationing his food to make sure he had enough. I bought a 40 lb bag and laid it on the floor and cut the entire top off and left it. It took him 2 days to realize he was never going to starve again.

I do every single day. I’m a pitbull advocate and help save pitbulls from being euthanized and I hear horrible stories all the time so I understand what you mean.

I don't think this is a great quote at all mainly because it isn't deep or even really true. If you look at army soldiers and people who died in World war one and two you will find many examples of selfless humans who gave away their life willingly. Japanese pilots literally dove their planes into the enemy like living bombs and they literally chose death over being captured or losing. This quote is just disrespectful to all those heroes and warriors.

@Luis Reyes if you think Japanese soldiers didn't do a kamikaze for the love of their country then you've obivously never heard of the many brave Japanese pilots who *willingly* and *volunteered* to join a special unit which specialized in suicide diving the enemy's defenses. They volunteered to do this and did this completely out of their free will. The unit originally had to have 300 pilots but so many pilots volunteered that they didn't even plan enough planes. They did that for absolute love of their country and did this to ensure victory for their country. They literally loved their country more than their own self.

She does! Her new name is Finya, and she was adopted by a loving family in Germany.
Dogs don't dwell on the past, and don't wallow in their own sorrow like humans do. They still remember, and find some things difficult to overcome. An abused shepherd I got in 2000 would be terrified if I was walking him, and saw a man. Even a wooden cutout used for advertisement of a local eatery freaked him out. He was fine with women and kids though. I was the only male he trusted (besides my sons, and eventually my father in law)
As people, we need to learn to let go. Bad things happen, and if you spend too much time focusing on that, you won't be in the right place for when good things happen.
Harper looks so happy now and you can see how she appreciates she was rescued , such a heartwarming story.

My dog gets enough food every day and she eats just as fast! Clearly she is starved cause you can see she is skinny but how fast they eat does not say how hungry they are. They also make anti gulp pots new for dogs like mine who eat to fast! ^_^

My friends cat eats so quickly!! Her neighbor knocked at her house and was concerned that she was not feeding her cat. As her cat went into their neighbors house and had two full bowls of cat food that had just been put out 😂 in front of of the neighbor and their cats then meowing for more!

The reasons why I’ll always adopt and never “shop” for an animal. I had a German Shepard who was up for adoption in the newspaper his name was jake at the time, he was wild and feral because his owners kept him locked up in the bathroom 24/7 and beat him if he made a mess in the bathroom. He came from a police officer in my town. I had to take him the state he was in I was afraid he wasn’t going to make it, he was severely underweight, had worms, and horrible case of mange. But I made a promise to him, I knew I could save him and that’s what I did. Three months after having him we changed his name to Zeus, very fitting, he started to gain a bit of weight and wasn’t scared of me anymore. Started training him and eventually my dad had him as a K-9 and went everywhere with my dad. He passed away on February 13th 2017 sometime during the night/early morning. He was 14 years old when he passed, he still is my guppy and always will be.
Also because I've been asked, the officer WAS charged with animal cruelty and abuse.

Norman TV I had too, he came to me when I went to see him the first time. It was a done deal 😊 he was my gubby, the look on his face when I got him home. He was so happy and scared but I knew he would be a perfect fit for my family.

As my dad and me were driving back home from holidays, he spotted a stranded dog crossing the highway and being in true danger of getting ran over by a car.
Like 2 minutes later, he realised that, and as soon as he could, he drove back to the place we spotted the dog. As we finally found her, we tried to gain her trust so she would hop into the car. We already had 2 dogs living with us so we couldn't really take care of her. We tried to find someone to take her, and I can happily say that she is now living with a family who loves her. I went to visit her just to see how she was doing in her new home, I couldn't even see her coming when she knocked me down on the floor (she is so big) and started licking my face. Guess she still remembers what my dad and me did for her. Dogs deserve to be loved as their instincts are to love us.

I would like to put this out there that I went on to howl of a dog website and found Harper! She has now found a beautiful forever home in Germany next to Berlin and she has been given a new name, “Finya” god bless her and her family✨

Oh because of how she looks? Would it interest you to know that they found a litter of her pups that she simply abandoned as soon as she heard people approaching? They found them a few days later when they realized she had just given birth a few weeks prior to them finding her. They were all dead because she didnt bother feeding them.

I rescued my German shepherd that was going to be put down. She was put to sleep last year after having her 13 years. I miss her

We rescued a starving cat yrs ago. She was the most grateful little cat we ever had, literally, would walk up to a room full of strangers to her and would meow and greet each one. We lost her to cancer after only 4 yrs of rescuing her and we did everything in our power to save her. That was 10 yrs ago. I miss her and mourn her still. Such a delightful and loving girl. I feel your grief and am sending love and light your way. Losing a beloved pet is no different than losing a beloved family member.

I am solo with you on that..I want to do the same Montana is the place I would pick for the location..open land where they could run and play in the outdoors and be safe.
8 years ago I was walking around a park and saw few children throwing stones to a 9 month homeless dog. I argued with children's parents and then, I adopted that Giant Schnauzer..
Always when I remember how scared she was when those children were throwing her stones and laughting.. tears come to my eyes😭 she didn't understand why they were doing that..
Now she is a very happy 9 years old Schnauzer and she's part of the family :)
That's depressing, I am happy she's with the right people and in the the right environment :D

i don't understand and never will understand, how cruel humans can be. we think we own the world, that every life (heck even our planet, our home) is worth less than our own and that we have the right to do what we want to get what we want. especially when i read stories like this, i just think to myself, that we aren't worthy to be species that shapes the world.
