Ah okay, this was super insightful, thanks! I appreciate this! I hope you'll be there when I experience the game first hand! ua-cam.com/users/liveD22lk4fb1j4?feature=share
If you're wanting to follow as much of the world's story as possible, I'd recommend reading item descriptions, which can be done by pressing square or x while viewing the item in your inventory. It's not "essential" to the story, but it does provide so much of the context that will help you piece it all together, as well as just giving helpful information in general. Given how unusual it is to do though, most people will tend to finish the game without ever reading a single one, ultimately leaving them confused and overwhelmed when they do try and figure things out
@@KingdomAce There is just SO MUCH lore to be discovered on your journey that you better just watch VaatiVidya's videos about Elden Ring lore on youtube because the lore is crazy huge. All of his videos about the lore are about 7-8 hours long, plus he will be doing some more lore videos about the upcoming expansion so probably like 10 hours of pure lore lol. Imagine how long would this take you to figure out on your own. In order to understand everything, you would also probably have to play the game multiple times because there is no way to do all the quests in one playthrough + there are 3 big endings and then there are also some... alternative I guess is the word for it ? ending, which also might tell you a bit more about the lore.
Thanks so much for this, I'm really hoping this playthrough will skyrocket our community too! Its been so fun having so many people to share these awesome experiences with and im confident this one will be even better!
Here's an explanation of the stats so that you have an idea of what to focus on or start with. Vigor: This is the amount of health you have. Of course, if you are supremely skilled at avoiding hits you can ignore this stat entirely, but even veterens would put some levels into vigor as it will never let you down. It also affects your resistance to some status effects. Mind: The amount of FP (Focus Points) or mana that you have. Mana is used for spells, incantations and buffs, special weapon skills. A few points here is not a bad idea even as a melee focused build. Endurance: This affects your stamina which is extremely important. Almost every single action in the game consumes stamina. You don’t want to be too tired to dodge when a boss is about to nuke you. This also increases your equip load. Overall a very important stat. Strength: Raises your damage for heavy armaments. If a weapon is big and makes you look menacing, like a greatsword or a giant axe or hammer, it most likely scales with strength. (Pro tip: Look at what a weapon scales with in its stats. That helps you know if it is going to pair well with your build.) Dexterity: Raises damage of your smaller or faster weapons. Katanas, daggers, anything that strikes fast usually scales with dex. It also reduces casting time of Spells, softens fall damage, and makes it harder to be knocked off your horse. Pretty good stat to develop in general. Intelligence: Only touch this if you want to be a mage. Faith: This stat is used for incantations, buffs, holy damage, fire damage, and even lightning damage. Quite a number of things scale with faith so it might be worth investing at least a few points in this as you progress further in the game. Arcane: Arcane stat can be very situational. It affects your resistance to certain status effects, increases item discovery, and also increases your damage for poison, sleep, madness, and bleed effects. Unless you are using a build that primarily focuses of those stats, you can avoid this entirely. Hope this helps!
I'm not sure if you've ever watched Peaky Blinders, but the voice actress in a lot of those trailers is Aimee-Ffion Edwards. She plays Esme Shelby in Peaky Blinders. She's also the voice actress of Mio in Xenoblade 3 like you said.
Without spoilers, the Tarnished are part of a group of warriors previously gathered under the First Elden Lord Godfrey. They helped him conquer much of the Lands Between and defeat its enemies, but he was later, inexplicably exiled by his wife Queen Marika (goddess of the Lands Between). Since Lord Godfrey and his warriors lost the grace granted by Queen Marika, their eyes dimmed and they were referred to as "Tarnished" upon their exile from the Lands Between. Much later, the Tarnished are called once again by the grace of Queen Marika to return to the Lands Between and battle to become the new Elden Lord.
IF YOU DONT WANT ANY STARTER TIPS DONT READ MORE a good tip for souls noobs.. Starting classes are temporary. you can start a mage and end up a two handed sword only build. don't feel stuck or overwhelmed. look at Starting stats to see there is different levels per starter class and equipment. if you like fast melee builds go Dexterity. If you like big swords Strength, Talisman's are for Faith magics. Staffs are for Intelligence and is Sorcery Magics. Dex is usually Bleed or Poison type builds.. Strength is Physical Damage and Negation, Faith likes Buffs and Fire stuff, Intelligence likes.. well just magic lol Hopefully that's helpful. most people take like 20 hours to figure it out even after being told and for a little bit of everything build its called a "Quality build". pretty much most of your stats will be around 20 levels so you can do a bit of everything. Vigor 25-30, Endurance 16-20 (stamina and weight load) , Strength 30-40, Dexterity 30-40, Faith 16-30, Intelligence 12-70 ... lol. the very bottom stat i forgot the name of.. but it helps with resistance to like bleed... increases bleed damage.. and item discovery. i dont recommend leveling that one.
Strength Arcane in this particular game is superior imo. Ashes of war kind of make it even on which damage stat to use but as far as min max strength is best for bleed with weapons like scavengers curved swords.
05:58 - 308 in total. I have completed the game several times. A few little tips in which there are no spoilers: - on the trailer they mentioned that you can master several things at once. Not recommended. It's better to be good at one thing than weak at all of them - exploration makes you stronger, fighting major bosses right away will make it very difficult - for the first time in the history of their souls games you can choose your own bosses, the game does not force you to defeat in order, you have free will to a certain extent - cracks on the bodies of various characters from the trailers are not related, the blue lady has cracks for a different reason than the gentleman who had cracks on his back - if you play on pc installing the mod "seamless coop" is even mandatory because it does not violate the game in terms of plot and consistency and corrects many problems - extension to the game does not affect the game itself because it is played in a separate place - the mysterious figure with golden hair at the very end is a mystery although there is strong evidence as to who this person might be
The tarnished are more or less exiles ostracized from society, people in the lands between have the blessing of grace which is why their eyes are gold, well the tarnished are those who lost that blessing. So they all gathered under the elden lord at the time who also lost the blessing of grace when he vanquished his final enemy and they ventured out of the lands between into the badlands and other places. Well after the elden ring the tarnished returned to the lands between, some were blessed with grace again and/or were brought back to life, some sought to put the elden ring back together and become elden lord while others sought out to do different things. That's more or less what went down, the game sort of goes into what a tarnished is and what happened with them.
21:05 Elden Ring has what can be considered bad endings, but the ones considered bad are paths that you actively need to pursue, and even so, for most endings, they still give you the option to back away from it. The most common one, the most basic and an ok ending, you barely need to do anything. Just finish the game. The other are heavely attached to NPC questlines. Some quite hidden.
Ur class honestly doesn't matter that much, it really just dictates ur starting gear and stats but i promises u ur gonna flip flop a whole lot on ur first playthrough as u discover cool stuff just know that u only have a maximum of 18 respecs in the whole game and also DONT try and spread ur stats out evenly I promise u it's going to cripple u. Just pump Vigor until u have an idea of what u want ur character to be, and you're not trying to hit the requirements for a piece of gear or spell. Love the content man can't wait for the new playthrough and don't forget u can never go wrong with leveling Vigor
I'll keep the vigor leveling in mind, thanks for the tips! I'm excited to see ya there tomorrow, hopefully with more spoiler-free tips! ua-cam.com/users/liveD22lk4fb1j4?feature=share
an early tip that doesnt get explained well in the game, to do NPC questlines, you have to talk to them over and over until you exhaust all their dialogue and they repeat themselves
I gotta say, the two best endings come from completing the Ranni the Witch questline, and the Lord of the Frenzied Flame (evil) ending, although there are four others, including the basic ending
Also kudos on you for drawing the distinction between graphical fidelity and artistic expression. Would love for you to expand on that idea in future videos. I think it's a point not enough people understand.
Don't worry about not understanding things. Half the fun of the game is figuring out the story as you go along. Remember, your character knows about as much as you do. So read every item description and pay close attention to what people say about the world around you.
Alright, you and I are pretty similar when it comes to approaching games so this is my recommendation. Level vigor by 5 whenever you get a chance, going up in increments. Mid game you want about 35-45 vigor and endgame I’d say 50-60 vigor. Whenever you feel you have enough health, go for damage stats: strength, dex, int, or faith. Once you find a weapon for your right hand that you like, focus on that stat, be it strength or dexterity. Once you beat Stormville Castle, I’d recommend buckling down on either intelligence or faith. Intelligence is more just magic based damage with a couple outlier spells and faith is a bit more all over the place, with a lot of elemental stuff like fire and lightning and beast and dragon and healing spells, to name a few. Intelligence (sorceries) based spells use staffs and are a bit more practical in all combat but can suck if the enemy has high Magic resistance. Frostbite spells also fall under sorcery. Faith (incantations) based spells can be a bit more nuanced depending on the type of damage they deal. Level mind if you want to cast spells more and level endurance if you want heavy equipment like armor or weapons. 45 endurance let’s me wear pretty much anything I want with any equipment I want (within reason), but I would aim more for 30 endurance by the end of your first playthrough. I played dex/faith my first run, but I switched up a lot near the end as bosses got harder and I found stronger weapons. Samurai has a katana that’s stronger throughout the end game if you level it up completely, confessor is pretty popular (what I started as), prisoner is nice if you want magic and a quick stabbing weapon, and if you choose vagabond, you will start the game instantly heavy rolling so remember to unequip something. I didn’t mention the arcane stat yet because it’s not as straightforward as all the other stats, and it didn’t work properly on release. They patched it by now so all good. Not as many weapons or spells require arcane, and the requirements aren’t usually that high, so I wouldn’t worry about it. It doesn’t affect damage directly (at least not for most stuff that requires it) and instead buffs things like bleed, poison, and scarlet rot damage. Also madness and sleep buildup, but madness doesn’t affect enemies in the game, only other players and yourself. Madness also does fire damage but not much. I think level 130-150 is good for the final boss, I was 155 when I beat the game. Good luck and go crazy with it.
You can also two hand any weapon or hold any two weapons, one in each hand. If you have two weapons of the same type, they unlock a special move set that replaces the block mechanic. Charge heavy attacks and heavy jump attacks do more poise damage, or in other words, makes enemies stagger and allows for a critical if you use an attack on the right body part. I put my health and FP flasks, along with Torrent’s whistle, in my pouch instead of leaving them in the main inventory so I don’t have to cycle through all my items whenever I want to drink my flasks. Feel free to roleplay, I certainly did. I would recommend only asking questions when it pertains to quests because it can be hard to find NPCs, and I would also refrain from killing NPCs because most give you their armor or weapons by the end of their quests. You can get their loot early, but you might miss optional help later on. Use summons if you want, at a certain point I felt confident to play without them. Alright, I think that’s it.
I wish I knew what the stat types mean and effect, stuff like strength, vitality, int and faith make sense but everything else like dex and stuff im not sure what gameplay aspect they effect

@@KingdomAce vigor, mind, and endurance are fairly obvious but you can select the help option at any time in the menus and the game will explain everything you need to know. Every weapon and spell in the game (not items so this doesn’t include stuff like throwing daggers) has stat requirements. Every item also has a lore description. Most stuff in the game have two menu screens that you can swap between for different information. So when you look at a sword for example, it will have its stat requirements underneath its main information like damage output. If you dont meet the stat requirements for a weapon, you can still use it, but it will do next to no damage. A sword traditionally is a strength weapon, a rapier is a dex weapon, mace is strength weapon, katana is dex. There are exceptions but weapons are usually one or the other. Same with spells. As far as how it affects gameplay, there are secondary mechanics while in combat. You can stagger enemies and break their stance, and these states have thresholds you have to trigger. Poise is the hidden mechanic that tracks how aggressive you are and how effective your attacks are against the enemy. Bigger attacks=more poise damage. This also affects you because every piece of armor you have comes with a poise value that you can check, and you can see your total poise on the right side of the inventory under your stats. 55 poise basically means you can tank a light attack from enemies without being stunned, and around 80-110 poise is good for late game, but the Poise mechanic is basically a response to how skilled you are at avoiding attacks. If you want to tank through enemies, you need enough endurance to wear heavier armor that gives you enough poise to not be instantly staggered. If you want to roll around everyone without being hit, you can sacrifice poise and health for more damage output. Heavier weapons take longer to swing, but their crazy damage doesn’t matter if the swing takes so long to hit that you constantly get staggered out of your attack, and that’s when you care about poise. If you have a quicker, more dex focused build but still can’t hit the enemy, feel free to still wear heavy armor while using a katana or something. Attacking takes time, regardless of your build, but your responsibility is deciding if you will be trading blows or avoiding them. A mage tries to run around while casting spells, which means they might have enough endurance to roll through a long boss combo, but not enough endurance to wear heavy gear. I personally straddled the line and tried to do everything, but within reason. You should focus on one or two stats for damage, but going both strength and dex can slow you down, and going both faith and intelligence is a bad idea on a first playthrough, because it’s hard to find enough stats and items to facilitate that specific playthrough when you’re playing blind. That’s why I recommend one physical and one magic stat. Strength doesn’t really effect anything outside of damage but you can “cheat” a strength requirement if you two hand a weapon. Example: a sword that has 30 strength requirement can be used when you have like 20 strength, if you two hand the weapon. You can’t cheat any other stat like that. Dexterity affects spell casting speed, fall damage, and some other stuff, but it’s all barely noticeable in actual gameplay, so I would just focus on the damage increase from leveling dex. If you get you dexterity high enough, you will notice your spells casting faster, but that’s useful more in PvP, it’s not as noticeable in PvE. Weapons do more damage either when you level up stats that pertain to that weapon, or when you upgrade that weapon with smithing stones. This was all over the place and if you want more specifics, I’ll answer, but I think this is enough for you to start the game confident.
A lot of the game's story and lore are told through environment/enemy/level design and more importantly, item descriptions. Be sure to read the description of every item you pick up
I'll try to remember but i cant promise ill do it every time, especially since im streaming/recording it. dont wanna ruin the pacing stopping to read every single item i pick up. may need to save them for specific segments and read em all at once. Thanks for the tip tho! I hope to see you at the stream! ua-cam.com/users/liveD22lk4fb1j4?feature=share
Starting tips I'd give for your Elden Ring journey is: Your starting class only determines your stat template so pick whatever fancies your playstyle best. You can respec yourself later so don't worry too much about picking the wrong class. Choosing "the best" or "the right" class is only for when you know what build you want, and you're new so focus more on fun and less on specialization. That said however even though you should just focus on fun. There are a few things you should keep in mind that will make your life much easier. For a first playthrough pick 1 of the 5 damage stats no more than 2 and focus on leveling that 1 or 2 damage stats. Don't try to be good at everything because you'll get curve stomped by mid game enemies/bosses all the way through the end game. You want specialization so you can capitalize on a specific thing to be good at. The stats in game are: Vigor, Endurance, Mind, Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane. Now let me tell you what they mean. Vigor: This is your HP stat as well as the stat that helps you resist fire damage a bit better. The obvious MVP stat. Endurance: This is your Stamina bar as well as your stat that determines your Equipment Load which is how much you can carry/how heavy of equipment you can carry. Debatably the most important stat. Mind: Your Mana bar for spells as well as your bar that allows you to use Weapon Skills which also use Mana or rather Focus as its called in this game. So don't totally neglect it, but don't focus too hard on it either. Strength: Your melee stat if you want slow heavy hitting weapons that deal hard damage and can possibly stun lock weaker enemies. Dexterity: Your melee stat if you want quick and simple weapons that while do less damage get off more hits easier. Dex also helps you take less fall damage (not by much but still a lil bit) and also helps you cast spells slightly quicker. Intelligence: Magic stat if you want to cast Sorceries and be a Sorcerer that primarily focuses on offensive pure magic spells. Faith: Magic stat if you want to be a Cleric/Paladin with versatile Holy, Lightning, Fire, or Utility spells. Arcane: Magic stat that helps you get Status ailments to proc on enemies like Bleed as well as boosting your Item Discovery AKA Drop rates. Lastly when in Character Creation for your starting Gift either take Stone Sword Key or Golden Seed. Everyone will say take Golden Seed to get more Healing Flasks, but I personally believe taking Stone Sword Key is the best option so you can unlock a very useful item in an early area called Summon Water Village that'll give you mileage for most of if not all of the game. Apologies for the super long comment I just love this game, and always get hyped to see new people joining in. I hope this comment helps you. Good Luck and I hope you have fun with what I believe to be your first Souls game!
These games ..genuinely make people better versions of theirselves. I became more human from it. ALSO.. George R.R Martin is the dude who made Game of Thrones :)
did he do the last season of game of thrones too?? ive never watched but i heard that last season was ass I was wondering if something happened to george for it to be so bad or what
@@pinkleWeenkies the books aren’t finished season 5(ish) are where the books stopped. Season 6-8 are notes that he gave the directors/producers. Season 7 and 8 were rushed through. There was plenty of story to make it a full 10 seasons but they rushed the ending and the majority of fans hated it.
@@TheOriginalEO13 I see thank you for your explanation should i read the books rhen instead of watching game of thrones so im not disappointed by the ending??
If you feel too weak to take on a certain boss you can always go to another place first. for example you can explore so much in the south before facing margit
May have to take that to heart. Im someone who likes to explore in RPGs before heading to a definitive objective first anyways. Depending on how long I go on for, we may not even take on Margit in the first episode!
You can think of the Elden Ring as the rules that govern how this world works. Like a computer code. It got shattered into many little pieces and your job is to put it back together. BUT like a computer code it can be altered and you will choose what the new Age will bring.
The Elden Ring is a representation of the natural order of the world, with each piece or rune representing an idea or aspect such as Death itself. The Elden Ring was shattered and pieces stolen, creating chaos in the land. The "Tarnished" are a group of warrior peoples who were banished from the land now returning, and are essentially undead like many others in the Lands Between due to the separation of the Rune of Death from the natural order.
Just expanding on your comment. The tarnished in the game are Godfrey and the banished warriors who also had their grace card revoked. The ability to see grace was restored, allowing the descendants to find their way back to the lands between and "save the world"
@@KingdomAce I always try to imagine it this way: the Elden Ring is to the world what a computer code is for a program. It governs the rules/laws of nature.
Elden ring is my second fav fromsoft game, bloodborne takes the first spot. I love it and consider it in my top 3 fav games of all time. You are in for 1 hell of a journey. Out of all the builds I have done a faith str build was by far the one I found the most fun and I normally don't do faith builds, it just has so many neat and useful things this time around.
I wish I knew what the stat types mean and effect, stuff like strength, vitality, int and faith make sense but everything else like dex and stuff im not sure what gameplay aspect they effect
@@KingdomAce Dex is just the damage stat for faster weapons like spears, daggers, and katanas, but it also makes you cast spells faster (as you can imagine dex is a good option as a melee stat if you also plan on using magic), reduces fall damage, and makes you harder to knock off the horse. Heavier weapons like greatswords and hammers use Strength and it also boosts physical defense (the stat is 50% higher when you hold a weapon in 2 hands so it's better than dex for pure melee even at higher levels because it levels above the cap, max level for everything else is 99 but strength can be 149 while 2 handing). Arcane is like luck (you get better loot) but it also affects bleed damage. Mind gives you more mp. Endurance is stamina and carry weight.
@@KingdomAce Dex is dexterity, used for faster weapons, while str is for the slower harder hitting weapons. Endurance is for stamina and equipment load (lets you wear heavier armor without it effecting your roll as much, there is fat roll, normal roll and fast roll) Arcane slightly increases item discovery and effects status of weapons, like how fast a status builds up like poison or bleed. Mind is your FP (its pretty much mana) int = spells and faith = incantations.
You will play the entire game, love it, and still not really know what the Elden Ring is. There is little to no exposition or plot told to you directly in these games - even the story will not hold your hand, you gotta go looking for it and interpret what pieces you find for yourself (although there are hours long youtube essays to help deep dive into the lore, but watch them after the game). This is part of the brilliance of Miyazaki/Fromsoft, absolute masters of environmental storytelling, and the game gives you a lot of agency. This type of narrative is not for everyone though. 5:59 - "How many bosses are in this game?" - technically 238, although many of those are optional. Its a *very* big game, although there are about 30 core bosses that get you an achievement, plus another 3 that are required to beat the game
Since when did bad narrative and no storytelling become a feature? If ubisoft did this with AC, If Howard did it with TES or any other western action-RPG dev made this with his game he'd get negative feedback on it, while Miyazaki is called a "genius" for not caring about players getting the story. It saves tons of resources to just write some Berserk "inspired" nonsense, than to make fully animated cutscenes and write good dialogues and not "uhm, Elden Ring, uhh, fingers, two fingers, three fingers, find great ones, get runes".
@@dragosmahuev4686 Welp - doubt we're going to have a constructive discussion about what constitutes good or bad narrative, or how exposition should be handled in a medium that gives the audience agency, in the youtube comments section. I disagree with you, of course, but more than likely it's better to just leave it as Fromsoft's narrative design is probably not to your taste, and that's ok.
rn without dlc coming soon it should be about 238 bosses total (counting every enemy with a boss bar) EDIT: also there are no "classes/characters" in this game, you can just choose how the stats are roughly allocated in the early levels depending on what you like or what weapons and outfits you think are cool. From there you can level any stat you want, and even respec at some point. You can be a mage but still do damage with melee weapons, this game is pretty awesome^^
Well. There are Different Kind of Bosses. Field Bosses, Night Field Bosses, Dungeon Bosses (Catacombs, Hero grave, Tunnel, Cave), Legacy Bosses, Legacy Dungeon Bosses, Story Bosses, Lore Bosses, Optional Bosses, Repetitive Bosses. General Radahn is Optional BOSS. And you can Have His BOSS Fight IF you Activate the Radahn Festival. Melenia Blade of Miquela... Another Optional BOSS. Why? Cause She is in Optional Area, and In her BOSS Room you'll See Where was Suppose to be Miquela, But He's NOT There, But in the Egg Cocoon Shell, With one hand Stick out. Margit is an Omen. Yeah, He is your Welcoming BOSS. Next Boss... Don't Forget to Read the Names, to know, what you Deal with, and Will you Encounter these things in Future again. The one that you saw Forging... Was Ether Queen Marika or Radagon of the Golden Order. Shattering the Ring. And the Event Called the Shattering Began. BEFORE IT was one Elden Lord, But for some Reason... There is one More Elden Lord, That IF ya Choose to Continue.. You'll Face that Elden Lord, Just Before Facing the Final BOSS of the game. The Grafted Scion is a Creation of Godrick the Grafted. Who's Kind a.... Like Mad Scientist, in some way. When and IF you Meet his BOSS Fight You'll See him. Also the Creature Grafted Scion is the Creature that Killed you in the Beginning. Actually, You can Kill that one Even at the Beginning. BUT Only IF you are Good Enough Early on. And you Meet another Surprise. After that you Have a Tutorial with a JOKE Boss at the END. The Soldier of Godrick, As BOSS There. And After that BOSS... You Meet Many Soldiers like him on the Outside. And Right when you See Limgrave, you Have NPC and Grace. And a Tree Sentinel That you can Avoid for Eventually Later. OR Kill on the Spot and Have a Halbert Right away. But Because He Gives Tons of Damage... And you can Take Him OUT IF ya good enough. But IF ya want, GO somewhere Else. There's a Church Near By with a Merchant. And The Game is NOT OPEN WORLD For No Reason. There are Things, Yeah. Poison, Scarlet Rot, Curse, DeathBlite, Frenzy Madness... OK! The BIG Enemies Trolls and Golems... Formula for them is Cut the Legs, and Attack the Weak spot. Head for the Trolls, and Belly for the Golems. Dragons... Formula, is Heavy Attacks (IF you can the head GO for IT), and Stab Weak Spot. For Example Glowing (Yellow or Golden Light), for The Place. Like an eye. Don't Forget the Parry and Repost. And Stagger. For the Magical Part. The 4 Arms Blue Girl is Ranni the Witch. She's Cool. Yeah, She has Quests for you. The type, you Don't wanna GO for these Quests, cause you wanna DO Other things, and some are TOO Hard for you. BUT! At Least That Gives you Some Interesting Rewards. And Finishing her Job Gives you an Ending. OK! Cailyd, Miquela's Halig Tree (Optional Area), and Lake of Rot... There LOTS of Scarlet Rot. And you can Try to Get yourself some Set, that Protects you at some Point. Green water... Poison. And IF there are Scarlet Rot, DeathBlight, or Frenzy Madness Enemies... Don't Get Affected by them, But Rather Avoid them OR Kill them Faster and First, Before they you.
FYI Elden ring is very indirect when it comes to quests and lore. Much of the actual story is told trough things like Item descriptions, and the NPCs often don’t tell you where to go for their quest. You get used to it, might be a bit confusing at first tho.
Looking forward to seeing what you will make of your character. Don't worry too much about a starting class and just go with what strikes your fancy. I'm so curious what fighting styles and weapons you are going to find appealing. :D
Great reaction, i really like how you tried to occasionally interpret things (like with the "tree spirit" towards the end). Subscribed purely because i really want to see you play Elden Ring, is that the plan?
Yup! I'll be live in a little over 12 hours from now! I went and scheduled the stream event ahead of time so if you want, here's the link so you can set a notification specifically for it so you dont miss it! ua-cam.com/users/liveD22lk4fb1j4?feature=share
I'll definitely be watching you play Elden Ring. I played it on launch and it took me ~200 hours to 100%. I'm currently sitting at 730 hours with most of that being from coop and helping other people and still have yet to do a second playthrough. Already preordered the expansion which looks amazing. Fromsoftware's expansions are always the best part of their games and the fact it took them 2+ years to make this one just hypes me even more.
Yoooo thats fire! I hope to see you tomorrow for the stream then! I'm sure I could use some spoiler-free tips when the time comes! ua-cam.com/users/liveD22lk4fb1j4?feature=share
There's more peak dropping soon! Elden Ring, while will be made into videos, its the only game right now that ill actually be STREAMING all the way through. So Alongside those streams and The Witcher 3 videos, I hope you'll check out the Mass Effect videos that're coming too! Even if you havent played them, im sure we'll have a blast!
@@KingdomAce Its actually both. Its a woman and a man who share a body. The woman is shattering it and the man is trying to repair it. It’s kinda weird but you’ll understand eventually
I wont let this game beat me! I'll see it through to the end, and I know with you all's help, I know we can do it before the DLC comes out! We've got time!
starting classes mean nothing. if you start as a knight class, later in the game you can be a wizard. its completely free for your own playstyle the weapons and equipment of a starting class can be found around the game, so everything is accessible even if you dont select a specific starting class the starting class is only used for how you want to allocate your initial level points and the starting equipment you receive
"A lot". I can't even tell how you managed to identify Martin's work here when he told himself he just made some worldbuilding. And then Miyazaki trashed it with Berserk and other Japanese nonsense.
@@dragosmahuev4686 bro he still wrote the story and ofc youre a “elden ring stole from berzerk wahhhhhh” type of person. Why are you even commenting here go read you mid manga
@@TangyTelevision Man I would like Martin to write ER entirely and remove all japanese nonsense from the game. It was sold under the mark of "World created by G.R.R. Martin", while in reality most fundamental aspects of the story are directly taken from anime and other japanese stuff which I think is a mid content for normies. I got megahyped when I saw the 2019 reveal, but it was trashed by shitty storytelling and story itself being anime berserk fanfiction by Miyazaki.
Quests are kind of difficult. You usually don't get a solid direction of where to go. Sometimes you need to straight up look for a guide to see what to do next. Then again, you don't really have to do any quests.
You can play any class and it will be good as long as you look at the weapon attributes and use levels accodingly but Samurai class is the easiest because you will get a weapon that causes bleeding and it will deal max hp damage to a enemy after few hits. you will have easier time with it more than any other class. but as long as you learn to use the weapon you want to use you can beat the game (i have done fist weapons run)
Nice, I look forward to the playthrough. I dont want to tell you what to pick for a starting class, but everyone picks samurai or astrologer and im kinda bored of seeing it, so id prefer if you picked something other than those two. Strength, faith, and arcane are also viable options people seem to forget and more fun to watch some one go with in my opinion. Again pick what you want at the end of the day im just some random commenter and its your playthrough, but if you want your playthrough to stand out from others you can take the less taken paths. 🙂
Hm, Im not too sure! I am the most interested in Samurai. I'm just into that kinda thing. So it'll likely be what I pick but I dont really know the other classes, i think i chose something like a knight before. idk if it was that but i feel like i had a sword and shield. but i didnt care for it, so I may just need to fully look through it all tomorrow on stream and go from there! I hope to see you there! ua-cam.com/users/liveD22lk4fb1j4?feature=share
@@KingdomAce Yeah samurai definitely has cool fashion, them and confessor have my fav starting armors. Remember too that starting class doesn't matter much outside of the early game when you start exploring and finding new gear. I will say if you want the most versatile start to try a little of everything out wretch starts with 10 in all stats from level 1 but they dont start with any armor so you gotta rock the loincloth for a bit lol 😅I'll be sure to check in and watch!
This made me sub haha. I've only seen like one vid of yours before too. Yeah you havnt even seen 5% of the game if you did first 2 bosses XD I'm gunna enjoy this. you will too
Hope you enjoy it, there's alot of gate keepers in the community so please ignore them and play how you want use any build or spirit summon you want as long as you have fun!... unless you will do pvp then don't use meta builds that's boring
I wish I knew what the stat types mean and effect, stuff like strength, vitality, int and faith make sense but everything else like dex and stuff im not sure what gameplay aspect they effect
Good choice! I'll likely pick it up some time later since i got Dragon's Dogma 2, and Unicorn Overlord recently. Not to mention I still need to beat Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth haha
Actually like 20-30. Rest are copypaste of each others with same movesets and no effort to it, but Miyazaki had to fill his empty world with at least something so he went that way. Thats your "deserved" game of the year "full" of original (Stolen from Berserk) content btw.
@@dragosmahuev4686 Yes, yes you're very wise and perceptive and the rest of us all just sheep. I'm sure whatever game you think deserves game of the year is very, very original has no inspirations at all. Don't tell me, though, I really don't care. There's 57 fully unique bosses by the way. More then the vast majority of games I know of that came out Elden Ring's release year. That's more then most games period. It's literally comparable to a damn Monster Hunter game and those are 95% boss fight. You whiny brats never bother doing an actual head count and just repeat whatever trash you read on reddit. That's also not including the DLC which adds 22 more. I'm sure you can come up with something else to whine about though, you people always do even if you have to stick your heads so far up your asses you can't see the faintest glimmer of sun light. So go on, what's the next complaint? We're all just dying to hear it. Truly.
Enjoy Ace, your gonna die. Alot. Quests in the game are very hard to follow, if you see an NPC, you are likely to see them again if you explore enough. Remember to follow the grace of gold.
I was so confused at first I was like "There's no way you dont know who GRRM is or havent played Elden Ring yet???" and then I realized I was just tired as shit, I mixed you up with someone else lmao. YESSSS IM HERE FOR THE REACTIONS LETS GOOOOOOOO I figured out why I mixed you up with Deez Nuts gaming (or "Justnutz" now). It's cause he always titled his videos stuff like "DARK SOULS VIRGIN" lmao
If you liked the soundtracks may you react to these OSTs (they are absolutely amazing) Godskin apostles Malenia, blade of miquella Mohg, lord of blood The final battle
Mass Effect is the other series alongside The Witcher 3 as videos (since Elden Ring is a stream/vod series). But when one of those is done, I'd definitely consider RD2
I'd love to tackle Sekiro or Bloodborne after it if possible. I actually started a Bloodborne playthrough a few months back but it kinda failed so I dropped it. But if the new viewers are down I'd pick it back up since it's super fun
Bit of advice, if you get stuck, just go somewhere else. The game is not linear, and gives you an incredible amount of freedom to go wherever you want, to find easier enemies to level up, and find something to chop a bosses head off with.
2 bosses is nothing. Ive put a lot of hours into elden ring. Id recommend dark souls 3 too. It got me into the souls games. Ive played all of them now.
I dont mean to be this guy...but watching the dlc trailer before actually playing the game diminish the impact of that the trailer a lot. Because you will not have the same knowledge and will not get the context of this beautiful trailer unless you either play the game and go deeply into the lore or watching and reading a lot of Elden Ring lore.
The designs of many of the creatures in the game were inspired by the manga Berserk. The game also has a place with swords stuck on the ground in honor of the manga author to honor his memory.
co- op is very weird in souls games. you have to summon every time its annoying. the Coliseum is for Matchmaking PVP .. people don't really play these games for the co op haha. WAY too aids. but there is a great mod that allows full co-op
all fromsoft games are heavily inspired by BERSERK so if you like these games you have to read it.probably the best store written in modern times and i dont say that lightly.
I really need to read berserk, i started it but didnt really make it past a chapter or two. not that i didnt like it, just was bad timing, but hopefully these games will push me to really dive into it too!
Utter garbage with poor dialogues and no depth but a slight feeling of it. Perfect book to make 10-17yr old weebs feel themselves experts in philosophy (there is none) and based gigachads (They are lost deadinside soyboys that think a guy who's profession is called MANGAKA can write deep stuff within funny comics).
Honestly though, who cares? I mean, endings are important and all, but really the only thing that matters is the build up and gameplay leading up to it
Hey no worries! Im sure even if you havent played, seeing someone else do it wont affect how we'll you'll do it yourself! So feel free to watch, or cop the game and play alongside me!
People like me? Or the homie Ace? Because I haven't been a noob since 2009 when Demon's Souls dropped. Played King's Field before that but I was only 2 when that initially came out. Plenty of Armored Core. Praise the Sun!
@@andieketchum that's fair actually, I think the reveal of a Dlc probably pushed the game up on some people's list, sorry for being a dick in my last reply
@@maskedmenreikithey probably excluded all the repeats, which is honestly pretty fair since if you exclude all the copy pasted bosses theirs only 123, your technically right though.
Some important info most will try to hide or not even know: 1. G.R.R Martin worked on like 5% of what game represents. They are just using his name to push Japanese manga/anime culture to the Western audience because game's story, most important parts of it and art-design aspects are copypasted with small changes from some anime and mangas. Miyazaki is Berserk fanboy so he won't pu something really original here and why? People ate it anyways. 2. This game has no depth in its mechanics and buildmaking. You have 2-3 broken mechanics like bleed, stun and mimic tear and difficulty just vanishes. Openworld has respawnable mobs and tons of ways to cheese XP and game even pushes you to do it because there is portal to one of such locations that is easily found in first 1-2 hours into game. Fans will tell you to play with this or that or you are" not experiencing game enough" but excuse me, if GAME ITSELF doesn't set up barriers, it is a problem of the game. 3. Combat got downgraded from Sekiro to typical Dark Souls. That's it. You had dynamics, concentration pushing you to attack? Forget it, now you just roll 4-5 times to hit 2-3 times and repeat. 4.Main theme and 4-5 other boss themes is everything about music in this game. There is no proper ambient warming your adventures like in Skyrim (not even comparable to be fair, Jeremy Soule is a modern god of videogame music along Mick Gordon). 5. Trailers sohwcase "epic" Dragon and other big creatures combat which in fact is scratching their feet while you can't even see what they are doing. Even Skyrim's Dragon combat feels better because you are fighting face-to-face. This is a big problem considering there is whole variety of giant sized enemies. You don't feel it and it looks awkward. Those are obvious problems but there are even more. This game had a lot of potential ruined to make mediocre Open world souls game for normies and make easy money on them. We could get Story driven epic fantasy from Martin with dynamic combat from Sekiro, but we got another Berserk gamification that some western players even fail to see claiming it's "Martin's European dark fantasy game".

@@KingdomAce the goat man truly had a beautiful mind
1:36 - Martin is the author who created the book series: ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’
He also aided in the creation of the TV Series ‘Game of Thrones’ which is based upon the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ books series that is written by him.
Martin’s work on Elden Ring is the creation of a background history - filled with wars, major characters and betrayals, and factions - that you will explore *AFTER* all of it happened. You are an Archeologist, or a detective, in that sense.
Miyazaki, creative director of Elden Ring, will often obscure key/crucial elements of his stories for the player to interpret the events of the game for themselves. So, if you don’t understand a lot of it, don’t worry. It is by design lol
Enjoy, my friend. It’s one of my favourite games of all time

Given how unusual it is to do though, most people will tend to finish the game without ever reading a single one, ultimately leaving them confused and overwhelmed when they do try and figure things out
I'll try to remember to do so!

That helps you know if it is going to pair well with your build.)
Dexterity: Raises damage of your smaller or faster weapons.
Plz heart this ace 😭
This helps a ton. Thank you!!
Much later, the Tarnished are called once again by the grace of Queen Marika to return to the Lands Between and battle to become the new Elden Lord.

a good tip for souls noobs..
Strength is Physical Damage and Negation, Faith likes Buffs and Fire stuff, Intelligence likes.. well just magic lol
Hopefully that's helpful. most people take like 20 hours to figure it out even after being told
and for a little bit of everything build its called a "Quality build". pretty much most of your stats will be around 20 levels so you can do a bit of everything.
Vigor 25-30, Endurance 16-20 (stamina and weight load) , Strength 30-40, Dexterity 30-40, Faith 16-30, Intelligence 12-70 ... lol. the very bottom stat i forgot the name of.. but it helps with resistance to like bleed... increases bleed damage.. and item discovery. i dont recommend leveling that one.
intelligence is just faith but with more range and cool blue rock
@@silenceyang6980 and like no stat Buffs. thats why if i ever use magic.. its faith. just for buffs so i can swing my sword harder lol
Strength Arcane in this particular game is superior imo. Ashes of war kind of make it even on which damage stat to use but as far as min max strength is best for bleed with weapons like scavengers curved swords.
05:58 - 308 in total.
I have completed the game several times. A few little tips in which there are no spoilers:
- on the trailer they mentioned that you can master several things at once. Not recommended. It's better to be good at one thing than weak at all of them
- exploration makes you stronger, fighting major bosses right away will make it very difficult
- for the first time in the history of their souls games you can choose your own bosses, the game does not force you to defeat in order, you have free will to a certain extent
- cracks on the bodies of various characters from the trailers are not related, the blue lady has cracks for a different reason than the gentleman who had cracks on his back
- if you play on pc installing the mod "seamless coop" is even mandatory because it does not violate the game in terms of plot and consistency and corrects many problems
- extension to the game does not affect the game itself because it is played in a separate place
- the mysterious figure with golden hair at the very end is a mystery although there is strong evidence as to who this person might be
Its crazy because i just started playing again to finish the game and it feels so refreshing. Looking forward to your playthrough my bro.
Lets goooo! Looking forward to playing alongside ya then!
your prediction at the beggining about the guy with the hammer is kind of close, you will learn what was going on there when you beat the game
Im looking forward to it!
Please tell me you’re paying Elden Ring I love this game
You bet I am! Tomorrow!

Exactly what I thought when I first saw the trailer.People missed that detail but it was Malenia's scarlet flower not Radahn's red locks.Weird

Hope this helped. Ill try and catch the stream if you need another explanation too.
Starting tips I'd give for your Elden Ring journey is:
Your starting class only determines your stat template so pick whatever fancies your playstyle best.
Good Luck and I hope you have fun with what I believe to be your first Souls game!
this was a very good ad for your stream. i'm definitely watching.
These games ..genuinely make people better versions of theirselves. I became more human from it.
ALSO.. George R.R Martin is the dude who made Game of Thrones :)
did he do the last season of game of thrones too?? ive never watched but i heard that last season was ass I was wondering if something happened to george for it to be so bad or what
he made the books not the show@@pinkleWeenkies
@@pinkleWeenkies the books aren’t finished season 5(ish) are where the books stopped. Season 6-8 are notes that he gave the directors/producers. Season 7 and 8 were rushed through. There was plenty of story to make it a full 10 seasons but they rushed the ending and the majority of fans hated it.
@@pinkleWeenkies He's the author of the original Books. not the show
@@TheOriginalEO13 I see thank you for your explanation should i read the books rhen instead of watching game of thrones so im not disappointed by the ending??
The ability to see grace was restored, allowing the descendants to find their way back to the lands between and "save the world"
Ahh okay this explains a lot. Thanks!
@@KingdomAce I always try to imagine it this way: the Elden Ring is to the world what a computer code is for a program. It governs the rules/laws of nature.
Just to give you a general tip. Any weapon that gives the bleed status effect is absolutely busted.
Bleed does a percentage of a enemies health bar in damage. It really helps with bosses
Haven’t watched your streams in a bit but I’ll definitely watch your elden ring streams
looking forward to seeing you there! ua-cam.com/users/liveD22lk4fb1j4?feature=share
It's my second behind Sekiro
I wish I knew what the stat types mean and effect, stuff like strength, vitality, int and faith make sense but everything else like dex and stuff im not sure what gameplay aspect they effect
I need to play that game!
I disagree with you, of course, but more than likely it's better to just leave it as Fromsoft's narrative design is probably not to your taste, and that's ok.
rn without dlc coming soon it should be about 238 bosses total (counting every enemy with a boss bar)
EDIT: also there are no "classes/characters" in this game, you can just choose how the stats are roughly allocated in the early levels depending on what you like or what weapons and outfits you think are cool. From there you can level any stat you want, and even respec at some point. You can be a mage but still do damage with melee weapons, this game is pretty awesome^^
Thats pretty awesome to know, thanks!
Well. There are Different Kind of Bosses.
Field Bosses, Night Field Bosses, Dungeon Bosses (Catacombs, Hero grave, Tunnel, Cave),
Legacy Bosses, Legacy Dungeon Bosses, Story Bosses, Lore Bosses, Optional Bosses,
Repetitive Bosses. General Radahn is Optional BOSS. And you can Have His BOSS Fight IF you
Activate the Radahn Festival. Melenia Blade of Miquela... Another Optional BOSS. Why?
Cause She is in Optional Area, and In her BOSS Room you'll See Where was Suppose to be
Miquela, But He's NOT There, But in the Egg Cocoon Shell, With one hand Stick out.
Margit is an Omen. Yeah, He is your Welcoming BOSS. Next Boss... Don't Forget to Read the Names,
to know, what you Deal with, and Will you Encounter these things in Future again.
The one that you saw Forging... Was Ether Queen Marika or Radagon of the Golden Order.
Shattering the Ring. And the Event Called the Shattering Began.
BEFORE IT was one Elden Lord, But for some Reason... There is one More Elden Lord, That IF ya
Choose to Continue..
Actually,
You can Kill that one Even at the Beginning.
OR
Kill on the Spot and Have a Halbert Right away.
Formula for them is Cut the Legs, and
Attack the Weak spot.
The type, you Don't wanna GO for these Quests, cause you wanna DO Other things, and
some are TOO Hard for you.
Your Skyrim playthrough got me back into Skyrim and you're boutta do the same thing with this
Great reaction, i really like how you tried to occasionally interpret things (like with the "tree spirit" towards the end). Subscribed purely because i really want to see you play Elden Ring, is that the plan?

Speaking of the DLC, it takes place alongside the main story. It's not the future, not the past, as many mistakingly say.
How many bosses? My dude there are like 240 bosses. Youre in for a damn treat
This will be an amazing stream! I won’t miss it😂
I will see you there then!! 🫡

Let's goooo!!! Bro I can't wait to witness you get gud (not an insult - it's soul language for persevering and vanguishing) 🎉🎉
Im ready to get gud! Tho Im sure ill surprise yall that im actually quite the gamer 😈🤔
starting classes mean nothing.
if you start as a knight class, later in the game you can be a wizard. its completely free for your own playstyle
the weapons and equipment of a starting class can be found around the game, so everything is accessible even if you dont select a specific starting class
the starting class is only used for how you want to allocate your initial level points and the starting equipment you receive
I love the accessibility and freedom of execution! I'll be sure to think carefully!
George rr Martin is the game of thrones author :) the story has a lot of his influence
Also there’s 165 bosses lmfao
How many bosses are in this game? 165 in the base game.

Because you will not have the same knowledge and will not get the context of this beautiful trailer unless you either play the game and go deeply into the lore or watching and reading a lot of Elden Ring lore.
it'll be okay!
The designs of many of the creatures in the game were inspired by the manga Berserk. The game also has a place with swords stuck on the ground in honor of the manga author to honor his memory.
I REALLY need to read Berserk then
If you thought Witcher 3 had some backseat gamers in your comments just wait until you play Elden Ring.
I wont let it get to me anymore. I'm the one with the controller after all!
i think u dont realise that there arent really "characters". anyone can just do anything. no one character preset locks u out of doing stuff.
co- op is very weird in souls games. you have to summon every time its annoying. the Coliseum is for Matchmaking PVP .. people don't really play these games for the co op haha. WAY too aids.
but there is a great mod that allows full co-op

All souls endings suck, you just choose the suckidge that doesn't have you murder everyone.

Why are these noobs coming out of the woodwork?
Because we're getting through our backlogs, but the DLC coming made us push ER to the front

Some important info most will try to hide or not even know:
