Just think about this for a second, if it were not for UA-cam most of these fantastic pieces of musical history might very well never be seen by the average person and might become completely lost to time
Good point! The rarity of such music films is one of the reasons I started my traveling cinema project: to bring rare films to audiences who might not otherwise see them, especially small towns in North America. I did a pretty neat little trick with my Cinema from the very start, I decided that it would not be a business or a charity it would just be showing Films, free of charge, best way to you deliver great film to people. Brother you are right thanks to you tube for this exposure. Whites have suppressed great talent. Big Mama is a legend. No doubt about that. Hound dog I am hearing her version which is the original I am in love with her version.
It's so sad 'cause nowadays people are fixated on looks and sex appeal, and forgot about the most important thing - TALENT! Look at these folks; loved for their great talents/gifts, and not superficiality. Right on✊🏾💪🏾🙏🏽😌💚.

Big Mama was a very special singer and performer, simply legendary, its amazing how slim and rangy she looks in 1971 and yet still carried that massive glorious booming voice and vocal range. I feel sad when I see a star of her stature only getting novel interest at sporadic times in her career. Like many legendary Blues stars, she really deserved so much more plaudits, financial rewards and fame.
@@jaynecampbell4396 Yes, that much is clear, simply because she was able to live a better life than most black folks could ever hope for in those troubled times. That still doesn’t diminish what I said earlier, she deserved so much more.
I wonder if she was ill by then already, it is said she lost a lot of weight due to an illness, she eventually passed of heart and liver disorders due to alcohol addiction.

@@carolfishwr8703 Big Mama was just one forgotten and underrated black blues legend, look up Gospel/Pop/Rock singer Sister Rosetta Tharpe. When you hear her sing and play her guitar, you begin to understand how she was referred to as the Godmother of Rock n Roll. She influenced Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Little Richard and the big US bluesmen of the day (Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy, etc…) the top U.K. blues enthusiasts and musicians at that time loved her work.
