Dude had chops to spare. RIP Matt "Guitar" Murphy. He looks a little different here than that hulking badass m*therf~cking giant we saw in the "Blues Brothers" movie haha.
Jesus is a man. His blood has been double-blind tested in an Israeli lab. Human blood. Instead of 46 chromosomes, it has all female DNA strand of 23 and ONE X masculine chromosome. God made Man in His image. From the man, he took a rib and made Woman. Jesus is God. While earth-bound, he was subject to ALL temptations common to human MEN, including female attraction. He could not sin, but He was tempted in every way, including by women. Just so we're clear, God is a man in spirit, in resurrected flesh and in transcendence of the weaker vessel. Eve was decieved. Adam chose.
Matt sure could play that guitar. Living in Florida back in the day saw him many times, often in some very small venues. Matt was a really good dude who would chat with you between sets, had showed of patience for young and often inebriated fans.
A true, true gem of da Blues, and superior musicianship....Thank you God for the musicians, allowing me to live in this short frame of time.lemme play my harmonica now n blow my lungs inside out.

This is so amazing! They was playing her in Sweden i 1917 my grandfathIt's. This is not my genezration not my generation but I wish it was!! my grandfather, he was very angry that Creedennce stole some of Menphis Slim songs like the one they called "Susie Q" So shameful !!!!
+Elcy Oliveira -- I'm Slim's 1st cousin--my grandfather was his uncle, I want to thank you for posting this concert of his, I had the honor of touring with him at 6-years old performing as the front person with friends of his called The Regulators who were a Du-Whop and Gospel acapella group for about 6-months on the old "Chitlin' Trail" -- Sonny Boy gave me my first harmonica when I was 6-years old, I never got that good with it I was better at singing and taking pictures! Later, after I joined the Air Force and stationed in Germany, I got to visit him in Paris and toured with him again on the last five concerts ending in France from his Middle East and European in 1973 -- this time I was there to perform just along to take pictures -- I'm a professional photographer! I was going to visit him again when I got stationed in Sicily in late 1987, and we had it all set for when he came back from doing a gig with his old guitarist Matt Murphy; however, I was sent on a classified deployment and didn't get back till the 1st of March 1988; that's when I found out that he had caught the flu while he was in the states and he died of kidney failure on the 24th of February. The Sicilian blues and jazz radio stations had played his music in tribute for 3-days. About 14-years ago, I started doing a radio segment with the help of a DJ friend of mine, David Lescht, on the UNM college radio station, KUNM, called "Memphis Slim Remembered" either on or about his birthday of the 3rd of Sep. However, that ended 6-years ago when David died. Slim was a great individual, performer, friend, and humanitarian and I truly miss him! Again, thank you so much for posting his video here!
The great Memphis Slim combined the rough primitive blues and the traditional boogie-woogie piano, together with an elegant and light and sophisticated Jazzy feel. Matt Gitar Murphy was also a true giant of the blues. Combine these two with the unique blues harp of Sonny Boy Williamson (the second), which is as deeply expressive and as emotional as any singer's voice, and you get a set which is elegant and subdued, but with a deep blue feeling.
My favourite song from my favourite harp player. This was absolutely the one that was my target as a player myself. I thought if I could nail that solo, I could call myself a blues player. I was truly thrilled listening to your version. Note perfect with a wonderful sound but it was the feel that you were channelling that sent shivers up my spine. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Very interesting and productive merging of related musical forms. Boogie-woogie, straight blues with jazz flavor. These guys are awesome. So we'll considered, professional, and downright funky.
The most beautiful & important music. “Los Blues”. A great experience- for better or worse. When Memphis Slim/Sonny Boy 2 sing & play? A most cool joyride fo sho.Love Matt Murphy. ❤️

I have a LP record of a Sonny Boy Williamson concert from Europe. His backup band was the Yardbirds, with Eric Clapton. Great record and great performer.
The drummer is my Dad Billie Stepney Sr. Passed September 10th 1967 age 37yrs.. This was recorded Nov. 1963.
Apparently after the 22nd, as Williamson makes reference to Mrs. Kennedy.
❤
Among the best blues drummers ever.

Great stuff. One sign I see is a Piano player with long fingers gets around a key board really good. Love this music.
Simple but effective. They chase each along. Nothing done wrong. Clean riffs. Nice.

Sonny Boy, dripping coolness and then...that audience, wound up tight like little swiss clocks, with their ties and polite clapping.
