    That was excellent! Great idea on using the diesel return line. I've had a few vans and cars that reeked of diesel from carrying Jerry cans and it's no fun!

      Yh my thoughts exactly. hated the thought of carrying that tank they supply inside the van, let alone sleeping in it just after you have topped up. Thanks buddy 👍

    Awesome, I had prepped my traffic but thought using the turret would cut into the chassis leg so reverted back to the basic plate, wish I had seen this first as I had to drill new holes and modify that anyway to make it fit, I've only just done this and not fitted the fuel line yet, I have the adapter that saves cutting the fuel line and putting a t joint in, not worked out where the fitting is for that as I finished work 6 hrs ago and got everything done bar the the fuel supply, do you know where the fitting connects too? Going to have a look after I get a munch 👍

      @@stevenhart6952 I ended up changing it in the end and if you mean the same thing I bought, then i put mine on the fuel line under the bonnet.
      As you look at the engine the fuel line is on the left and it just clips into this. Or some people put it underneath the van where the fuel lines meet / clip together. Hope this makes sense 👍

    Hi Steve, thanks for excellent vid!. I didn't get the fuse bit in the kit and I'm about to take the dreaded plunge of installation!! What do I look for? I'm running mine off of a power bank and will only be using the heater on cold mornings?

    • @South_West_Steve
      @South_West_Steve  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi and thankyou, I would definitely sort out getting fuse box, saves blowing anything else, this was my first ever electrical installation and it came with full instructions otherwise i wouldnt of had a clue what to do. If im honest i would contact the guys i used at Rayne Automotive and tell them what your plans are, what you have and what you want they will give you far better help and advise than i ever could.

    Hi Steve, how did you get the connectors off the chassis, the ones which connect the wires that go through the floor, and where did you reroute them too? Did you unplug it or just move it.

    • @South_West_Steve
      @South_West_Steve  9 місяців тому

      Hi mate, I disconnected the battery and left it for a. Hour then there was enough slack to disconnect it and pull it and move it around the heater and reconnect everything. Provided I'm on about the right wiring 😂

    I hear the fuel filter can cause problems and to run it without one. What do you think?

    • @South_West_Steve
      @South_West_Steve  9 місяців тому +1

      I've not heard that personally, I would just replace it with a good quality one as the ones that come in the kit are prone to splitting 👍

      I stupidly thought " how bad can it be ? .. maybe i should try it " so i did and yes i regretted it and had to refit the the additional fuel line i bought! 🤣👍

    when using the diesel return line, daft question but does this mean there is always diesel in the line when the engine is off ( van pump off ) or only when the engine is running?

    • @South_West_Steve
      @South_West_Steve  7 місяців тому

      Hopefully I've understood the question properly... If your splitting the return line to insert a T piece you will get a little bit of diesel leak out but I only had a little bit to be fair.
      All the return line does is return excess fuel back to the tank. And the heater pump will just suck it out from the tank.
      To save cutting the fuel line you can buy an adapter that just plugs into place, saves a lot of time and effort.
      Have a look on eBay at item number 315038414533 .. please make sure it's the correct one for your van though. Hope this helps 👍

      Hi, it's a 2kw from maxpeedingrods however they are currently out of stock. I have a video coming out in the next few days as I've had issues with mine and maxpeedingrods have been less than helpful. So please bare this in mind. Although I'm sure others have been ok. May of just been my luck.
