Im taking very much inspiration from your build. Outstanding build very clean, looks very light also. Thank you for sharing this whit us. Greetings from Poland
I have done a lot of searching on You Tube over the last several months for a Vauxhall Vivaro and I think Dave's has to be my favourite of the lot for just a simple, basic comfortable set up. Just got my Vivaro and will be copying a few of Dave's ideas 🙂
Nice going, Dave. Very useful series of vids. I never finished the build of my L3 H3 Vaux Movano [Reno Master] I kept using it for removals. I have decided to go smaller - Trafic/Vivaro day+ van. One problem I have is that most of the interior will have to be demountable because here in France, where I live, self-build campers cannot pass the 'Controle Technique' - the FR MoT. 😫. The good news is that the FR 'MoT' is every two years.
Thanks a lot....next van coming soon. I'm sorry but I don't remember what the paint was called, I did this one a couple of years ago....but it was a mid grey....I think I got it mixed at B&Q.
Pop top on the next build maybe? Theres a company....dreamtech/van lidz just behind wickes that sell them/fit them apparently but a DIY is what the cool kids do. Great work, keep the videos coming.
I really like your van builds, thanks for sharing them! I'm converting a VW Transporter at the moment and beginning the furniture now. May I ask, what size timber did you use to build your bed frames? Is it 3x2? And how do your cupboards stay closed in transit, are they magnetic latches? Thank you!
Thanks a lot....Yes the bed frame was 3 x 2. I used a sort of a spring latch on the cupboards. But I found a better option which are push button catch locks....they work real well and available on ebay etc. Good luck with your build.
Dave, another lovely van! I wonder if you have a 'shopping list' for your electrical system? It's just what I need for my 2016 trafic. I would happily pay for said list. Also, it's great to see how close you are to 1000 subscribers, you deserve many more.
Thanks Lisa, I do have a spreadsheet listing all of the materials I used. I'm happy to send you a PDF copy of it but I would need your email or FB then I can send it as an attachment.
Dave watson i have watched loads of your videos your amazing do you ha e a order list to convert a vivaro id like to try but have no idea where to start
Looking great love that skylight that's what I'm doing in mine, makes such a difference i think. Is there a drop out vent for that gas cylinder? I'd definitely recommend one. On my current build I'm doing a bed cross ways above the wheel arches it means you have to make cubby holes into the wall to get the length for a 6ft person but it means you can have a permanent bed inside without losing the length of the van to the bed. cheers.
@@dave-watson Thanks for your Reply Dave I have a very good 2015 Renault trafic low mileage mint condition would love to get a conversion done on it would it be very expensive to get it done thanks again
Hi Jane, It depends on the spec you want. My email is mrdwatsong@gmail.com if you send me an email i will send you my phone number and I'd be happy to discuss options.
Hi Dave, Brilliant. Simple, functional elegant. I live in France and would like to make it my project for next year. How do you rate the trafic? I think I would be keen on the shorter wheelbase version. I would not use it for the winter but for 3 or 4 day breaks at other times - how does it cope with hotter days and cooler nights?
Hi Mike, The traffic seemed good to me, I only had the van for a couple of months while I converted it and sold it on. But it seemed like a solid van. So long as you insulate the van well it should be good both ways. I used the shredded up plastic bottle insulation and it seems to be good. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
Hi, I do do conversions for others, I'm a bit limited by the weather because i don't have an indoor space for the vans. I really like the way the Tarfic turned out. Thanks for watching.
Hi Dave, Just come across your channel and it was right down my street and might give me the push to do this. Cost was keeping me back but this is a lovely conversion at a budget price. Can you give your honest opinion on using this van with height restrictions or no pop top. Pop tops are so much money but worried that height restrictions might be problem. Many thanks
Hi Peter, The in this sort of van is about 130cm. I've not found it a problem, I can reach the cooker and sink while sitting on the bench so I don't have to stand up to cook. Also the seating height is okay with a little headroom. Having said that I do not live in the van and use it mainly weekends and days out. It may get a little claustrophobic over a longer period, but there is always the option of a side door tent. Hope that helps.
Hi mate, I think your local to me in South shields 🛡 haha Me and my partner are currently saving for a van and this one is exactly how I imagined mine being I'm just struggling to figure out how you've done the electrics
Yeah, Sunny South Shields. I videoed this van tour down on the dragon. I have a video covering some stuff on the electrics I did in a Vivaro. ua-cam.com/video/_oyi8PhQ7p0/v-deo.html But also there is a bloke called Greg Virgoe who has a number of videos on youtube and he explains the electrics in detail.
@@dave-watson yeah sunny South shields, I'm just off Stanhope road. If you ever need/want a hand I'd be glad to help and learn some useful tips for when I eventually buy a van :)
I found it surprisingly straightforward. I put a 400mm and a 500mm Fiamma roof-lights in my Movano. The 500 mm one had to go where the roof is ribbed - I did the 400mm first and used up the only flat section for that. ☹ But building up the 'valleys' between the ribs with Sikaflex worked. Both hatches were watertight.
Hi Lisa, here is my email address mrdwatson@blueyonder.co.uk. If you can send me an email and let me know what sort of thing you want I will let you know if I can do it. Thanks Dave

This should be out on the market in massive production!! Absolutely lovely build van!!!

Many thanks....that van dis feel very light and spacious for a small van.
Nice job Dave.
Great Looking Van Dave, ...Just watching my way through your last build, nice and easy to follow and great attention to detail 👍
Thanks a lot. Hope you enjoy the rest of the videos.
Really liked this set up Dave very roomy and spacious keep them coming
Yeah there is a lot more room with this layout, I tryed one with a rock and roll bed but the fold out is much easier.
This is beautiful, fab conversion.
Many thanks.
I’ve just bought a 13 plate Renault traffic so thanks for this, you’ve inspired me 💚🫶
Hi, Glad the videos are useful and good luck with your build. Thanks for watching.
Cracking design, I’m thinking about copying it. Thank you
Thanks, This layout works well in the Vivaro and the fold out bed is real easy to make. Good luck with your build.
Lovely conversion great use of space well done 👍🏽
Thanks a lot
Really nice build, good use of the space
Thanks Craig, I've done a few vans in this style and I think it's much better than the R & R bed layout. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Kev, I'm hoping to do a larger van next. Thanks for watching.
Helped me out alot on my van love all the tips thanks
My pleasure, good luck with your build.
Absolutely lovely ! ❤
Many thanks.
great video going to change the plan on my van very similar to yours
Thanks Lee, this was a good set up with the fold out bed. The van felt very spacious and light. Thanks for watching
Beautiful
Thanks a lot.
Really like the LWB and the style and L shape Seating. Got to say this is the layout I'd make
Thanks...yes I like this layout the van feels a lot more spacious and still loads of storage.
Hi Dave, Excellent videos and inspiring too.
Would you recommend a L shape or RnR bed configuration for a SWB trafic?
Hi, The first van I did was a SWB vivaro and the L shaped seat worked out well, I'd go for that.
Great build! Looks very spacious
Thanks a lot, there is a good bit of floor space, I like this layout. The light paintwork and upholstery give it an open feel too. Thanks for watching
It‘s so nice. I like it very much. 👍🏼
Thanks a lot.
Hi mate love your work you have done, cant wait to see your next van. Could you tell me what colour paint you used in this van please 😊

Love this layout looks amazing! What are the dimensions of the L bed and kitchen? It looks perfect size
Thanks a lot Billy, The bed was 195cm long and about 120cm wide, and that left about 42cm in width to get the kitchen in. Thanks for watching.

How does the extra weight from your conversion effect the mpg?
Hi. I'm not sure. The extra weight will lessen the MPG but I've never actually measured it.
Dave do you have a parts / supplier list, I’m about to start a 2019 vivaro conversion
