If someone has a problem that the pixel grid is not showing up (and the button "Show pixel grid" in the "View" tab is locked): Go to Settings --> Configurate Krita --> Display --> Canvas Acceleration --> Turn it on.

Hi i'm also using a Mac user and this is what I did to stop Krita from crashing 1. Go into Krita 2. Press ⌘, in the menu screen (Have to press both command and comma at the same time to enter "preferences" which is technically settings) OR To manually open Preferences on the top left corner press Krita then go to preferences EITHER WAY WORKS JUST GET INTO Preferences 3. Go to Display 4. In the Canvas Acceleration box you can switch the Scaling mode to either Bilinear Filtering or Nearest Neighbour (lowest setting) 5. If it is still lagging turn off Canvas Acceleration (that's what I did and I was finally able to open a new file)

krita is not a professional pixel art program.. because when you increase the size of your drawing it won't be the same thing when you make it small.. the best is aseprite

Soory for late reply, I guess my creator studio app i not too happy with me😜. Anyway coming to ur question, I'm pretty sure that it's my fault as I forgot to mention this. You have to change some more settings like Display < Scaling Mode < Nearest Neighbor(or something like boxed). As far as I know it should solve your problem of getting blurred out image.
